An NRI returns home after ten years, chasing love, but a single mistake awakens an ancient darkness feared by the village for generations. As the threat grows, love turns deadly and his life hangs in the balance.

The story of Aadujeevitham is based on a novel of the same name by a Bahrain-based Indian author, Benyamin. It depicts the real-life incident of an Indian migrant worker, Najeeb Muhammad (played by Prithviraj Sukumaran) who goes to Saudi Arabia to earn money. However, in a twist of fate, he finds himself living a slave-like existence, herding goats in the middle of the desert.

Arjun, a daredevil cop and his colleague-best friend Andrew are assigned a new case, to nab a psychopath killer who thinks he is `God`. His gory patterns and his smiley signature grips the city with fear. In this deadly pursuit Andrew gets killed while arresting this psychopath. Arjun decides to take matter into his own hands and succeeds in killing this monster but still the story is far from over.
