A tough and rowdy look-alike takes the place of a rich young man, who has family problems and enemies. Police Officer Bheem Thapa comes across a local thug of Mumbai called Raja and asks him to pose as London based Nirmal whose his lookalike and having a huge property in Palanpur.Nisha learns about Thapa's offer and warns Raja ,while Nirmal has returned for vacation in Palanpur and comes across Sandhya whose working in his tea estate.Nirmal and Sandhya fall in love and find that Nirmal's father was actually killed which was termed as car accident.Nirmal tires to unfold the mystery but before that the masterminds of the plan his stepmother and her lover Diwan also eliminate Nirmal.Raja turns to Palanpur and starts living in Nirmal's identity. —alex.mjacko@gmail.com Nirmal (Sanjay Kapoor) studies in London, and his dad (Anant Mahadevan) lives in a palatial home in India with his mom (Navneet Nishan). Unknown to both Nirmal and his dad, mom is having an affair with an employee, Baldev Diwan (Dalip Tahil). When caught in the act by dad, they kill him and his driver, Satpal (Mushtaq Khan) and arrange an accident with the help of another employee Manikchand (Tinnu Anand). When Nirmal returns he is informed of the accident, and he believes his dad dies of a car accident. One day while romancing with his girlfriend Sandhya (Mamta Kulkarni), he comes across Satpal, who is now confined in a mental institution. Curious to see what Satpal has to say about the accident, Nirmal arranges for more qualified doctors in the big city to examine Satpal. Unknown to Nirmal, Superintendent of Police Thappa (Raj Babbar) is plotting with Raja (also played by Sanjay Kapoor) to kill Nirmal and take his place, Raja's girlfriend, Nisha (Manisha Koirala) overhears this and questions Raja, but Raja lies to her. Things start to change for the worst for Nirmal's dad and Diwanji when Raja is introduced to the family, and with the help of Thappa establishes his identity and fools everyone. Raja Saheb lives a wealthy life-style together with his wife, Madhu, and her brother, Veeru. Both Madhu and Raja have been heart-broken several times when they have had miscarriages. Then one day Vijay meets Janam and everything changes for him, both fall in love with each other, and Vijay stands up for himself and becomes a man. When the time comes to get married to Janam, Raja opposes this marriage as he wants Vijay to get married to Principal Mehra's daughter, Kiran. Amar lives a middle-class life with his Police Inspector brother, Suryaveer, and sister-in-law, Beena. Suryaveer is assigned to handle the task of apprehending a group of terrorists, headed by Jumbo, who have made their hideout in a dense forest in Central India. Suryaveer's partner is Inspector Satpal, who is an alcoholic. Suryaveer is also told that six other police inspectors have lost their lives in this assignment. Nevertheless, Suryaveer and Satpal get ready to tackle this task and do penetrate deep into the forests. Then Beena gets the devastating news that Satpal has been injured and her husband has been killed. The police assign this matter to another Police Inspector by the name of Vikas, and Amar and Satpal lend a hand to support him. Ashok Bansal (Jackie Shroff) is a strict industrialist, inspired by the British 'stiff upper lip'. Ashok starts hating poor people & starts working hard to become rich because his mother abandoned him with his two other siblings and left for a richer man in the past. Karim (Deven Verma) is Head Servant of the house. In the process of acquiring wealth, he becomes an unbearable disciplinarian and neglects his family consisting of his younger brother Anil (Shahrukh Khan) and sister Suneeta (Nivedita Saraf). Anil has returned home after many yrs of studies. Ashok is out of town on business and Anil throws a party to celebrate. But Ashok returns unexpectedly and yells at Anil for wasting time and money on parties as he does not like it. The next day he yells at Suneeta for being few minutes late for breakfast as she was preparing the Thali for Rakhi. Anil loves Kavita, who is a poor girl. One day Ashok sees Anil with Kavita and is livid. That night Ashok confronts Anil and says that Kavita is only after Anil for Ashok's wealth. Anil tells Ashok that he or Kavita do not care for his wealth. Anil goes against his brother's highhanded ways and marries Kavita (Nagma), a poor girl and opting to leave the house. Fenni Fernando (Anu Agarwal) is Ashok's secretary in office. Ashok gets his sister Suneeta married to a man who turns out to be a gold digger Pradeep Mallik (Dalip Tahil), although she is in love with Ashok's manager Kamal (Vivek Vaswani) (neither had the courage to go against Ashok and admit their feelings for each other). Pradeep was guided by Mr. Mallik (Bharat Kapoor), Pradeep's brother and his wife (Madhu Malhotra). They send Jairam (Viju Khote), as Marriage Mediator of Sunita and Pradeep. The wedding takes place in double quick time and Anil is not invited to it. Ashok travels to Ranigarh for a new auto-parts plant. There an orphan named Munna makes fun of him and the way he walks (while he was out touring the town). Munna lives in an orphanage under the eyes of evil caretaker Shanti (Sushmita Mukherjee). Pratap (Paresh Rawal) is Shanti's boyfriend and also runs a car theft business in town. Shanti uses the orphanage money to fund her drinking binges. Ashok finds out where Munna lives and visits the orphanage to take revenge. At the time, some journalists are visiting the orphanage. Kamal suggests Ashok should donate, but Munna advises Ashok not to donate too much as Shanti will spend it on her drinks. Ashok gives her rs 50, which makes her angry. That evening Shanti thrashes Munna badly, who has no option but to escape and who decides to hide in Ashok's car and leave for town with him. Munna (Pooja Ruparel), an orphan arrives at Ashok Bansal's house. Initially the servants think Munna is a boy and are ordered to give him a bath, but they find Munna has long hair and that she is a girl. Fenni is summoned to give Munna a bath and to get her ready. Ashok has to allow her to stay for a few days as his sudden appearance at the orphanage has done wonders for his PR and sending her back will create negative press. She creates havoc in Ashok's home (She forces Ashok to spend time with her and Fenni (who is Munna's caretaker), watch movies and so on). Meanwhile Shanti figures out that Munna is living with Ashok and calls him to threaten that he has "stolen" Munna from the orphanage and she will go to the press with this. Ashok decides to take Munna back to the Orphanage, but his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Ashok, Fenni and Munna are forced to take a lift in a truck. They are dropped 20 Kms from Ranigarh. They are forced to spend the night in an abandoned cottage. Fenni manages to forage some food from the local area, but Ashok refuses to touch it. The situation leads to many amorous encounters between Fenni and Ashok (including Ashok seeing Fenni completely naked). Ashok returns Munna to the orphanage the next day. Munna says that she left on her own choice, and forces Shanti to take the lawsuit back, causing a loss of millions. Ashok is happy now but misses Munna terribly. He shares with Fenni the reason why he hates the word "love" so much in his life. On the way back, a trashed Munna again blocks his car, and this time Ashok hugs Munna and brings her back with him to his estate. Ashok is much more relaxed now and values love in his life. He trims his mustache and dresses more informally. Fenni is shocked at his transformation. At her birthday, Ashok gets drunk and openly admits her love for Fenni. Meanwhile Suneeta is in hell as Pradeep sleeps with other women in front of her. Ashok misses Anil and puts out an ad in the newspaper calling him back. as luck would have it, Anil works in an auto garage owned by Pratap. Anil tells Pratap that Ashok is not his brother. On Rakhi, Ashok goes to meet Suneeta. Ashok meets Anil there. Ashok begs for forgiveness to Anil, but Anil refuses to forgive Ashok as he has done a grave injustice to Suneeta by marrying her to Pradeep, as she is treated like a servant in the house and beaten badly. Ashok beats up Pradeep black and blue and brings Suneeta home. Ashok forces Pradeep to sign the divorce papers by threatening to reveal his tax frauds and other thefts with the Govt. Ashok unites Suneeta to Kamal. Meanwhile Anil finds out that Pratap is dealing in stolen cars. As Pratap decides to kill Anil, Ashok intervenes to save him. Pratap is defeated and escapes. Shanti finds Munna is at Ashok's house. Ashok has sent an application to adopt Munna. Anil and Kavita return home. Shanti meets Ashok at his house and says Munna parents have resurfaced and want her back. Shanti offers to buy off the parents for Rs 25 Lakhs, but Ashok now senses that Shanti wants the money for herself and refuses to pay. Ashok puts a notice out in all newspapers that he is adopting Munna. Pratap and Shanti find a piece of locket in the storeroom, that Munna carries in her neck. This would be conclusive proof that whoever carries that piece is her parents. The orphanage kids hear this plan of Pratap to kill Munna after they get the money from Ashok. Pratap and Shanti disguise themselves and reach Ashok as Munna's parents. They say Munna was lost is a carnival many years ago. The piece matches and Ashok sends Munna away with them and Rs 50 Lakhs. The orphans meanwhile go to the police and ask the inspector to call and warn Ashok. The orphans tell Ashok about Shanti and Pratap's plan. Munna escapes and hides in the carnival. She had hidden the money suitcase. Ashok reaches on time and gives Pratap the money, and he wants Munna back. Anil attacks and together they both rescue Munna, while Pratap and Shanti are killed.

After being falsely accused of theft from the village temple, Gangu is beaten to death by the village masters including Raghuveer Singh, Bhairav Singh, and Sampath. In his attempt to curb criminal activities in his area; an honest police inspector Ravi Kapoor gets into the bad books of two wrong-doers: one is an alcoholic named Sonu who run a seedy joint and the other is a hardcore criminal by the name of Chandidas Khurana. Ravi manages to convince Sonu to give up his present way of life in which he agrees and together they manage to trap Chandidas and his brother Shakti Khurana alias Chotu. The case is tried in a court of law with both proving guilty and is granted 7 years imprisonment. Then all is settled for Ravi and Sonu and they get married to two young ladies, Ravi to Geeta and Sonu to Radha; soon both are proud parents to boy child. Years passed by and then Chandidas and Shakti jail term comes to an end when they kidnapped the children of Ravi and Sonu. Sonu child gets killed and his wife Radha dies of shock. This illegal work comes to a grinding halt on the arrival of a honest police inspector Ravi Kapoor (Jeetendra). Together they trap Chandidas Khurana, his brother Chotu (Shakti Kapoor) with evidence, and both get long jail terms. Both Ravi and Sonu get married to their respective sweethearts, Geeta (Madhvi), and Radha (Anita Raaj), and subsequently raise their families. Several years later Chandidas Khurana and his brother finish their jail sentences and kidnap the children of Ravi and Sonu. Sonu's son is killed, and his wife too dies of shock. Inspector Ajay lives with his widowed mother in a city in India. He has been assigned the task of bringing in notorious bandit and gangster named Cobra, who has been terrorizing and killing people all over India. He does succeed in arresting him, and holds him in a cell, only to find out that he is insane, and must be institutionalized. Thereafter, Ajay awaits Cobra's treatment so that he can proceed with his investigation. One day while his mother packs his lunch, he finds out that it was poisoned, it did not affect him, but it kills another colleague. His mother, relieved to find out that Ajay is alright, is more concerned about Cobra, who was also sent some food. Ajay is baffled as to why his mother would feed a senile criminal, and he sets out to find out why. Lakshmi (Reena Roy) and Vijay Singh (Raj Babbar) fall in love, but Vijay's father Thakur (Om Shivpuri) at first is not ready to wed his son with a petty postmaster's daughter but then agrees. Vijay and Lakshmi both get married. But soon Vijay has to go London for further studies. Lakshmi gives birth to a boy, on Vijay's return his father has a party, and on the same night he has to go quite far to attend someone ill and on his return to the party while driving very fast vijay meets with a car accident and dies. His in-laws call their daughter in-law unlucky and throw her out, but she again becomes pregnant. Lakshmi while running away from goons arrives at a courtesan's parlour. Tamanchabai (Nadira) takes her in and there she gives birth to a girl. Lakshmi never sells her body, just her dance. Years later she happens to kill Moti Seth (Bharat Kapoor) as he wanted a one night affair with Lakshmi's niw young daughter. Her son Ajay (Raj Babbar) who she calls Pappu in childhood is now a lawyer, he fights against her in court but once he knows that Lakshmi is his mum, he asks the court for her forgiveness but she still gets life imprisonment. But outside court after embracing her son and daughter she dies.

An excellent film on the life and legacy of the legendary mystic and guru, Sai Baba of Shirdi. Pooja lives with her doctor husband and a young son. Her son becomes seriously ill and does not respond to any medication, her husband wants him to be moved to a hospital for further treatment, but Pooja has heard of Sai Baba and wants her son to be treated there. Her son regains consciousness for a short while and demands that he be taken to Shirdi, the town of Sai Baba. So they travel there, and that is where they meet with an ardent devotee of Sai Baba who recounts the tale behind the Baba. A young boy who traveled with a marriage procession to Shirdi, he stayed there, grew up, looked after by the kind townspeople, who subsequently named him Sai Baba. He showed Ganpat Rao that he is one with Vithoba and Bhagwan Shri Kishan; he demonstrated to Som Dev that he is one with Bhagwan Shri Shiv; former jailbird Heera regained his eyesight with Sai's blessing; During all of these miracles, the Sai always went door to door begging for alms and food. The legend grew, people flocked all over to witness this new Messiah, one whom the Muslims called "Allah Sai", Christians "Jesus Sai", Sikhs "Nanak Sai", and Hindus "Bhola Sai". Sai could recite scriptures from all the Holy books, whether it was the Holy Quran, the Holy Bible, the Holy Granth Sahib, or the Holy Geeta, and always blessed Hindus with "Allah bless you", and Muslims with "Krishna bless you". After his passing, a temple was built in his memory. During a jail riot instigated by convict Jaggu (Joginder), the Jailer, Arun Mehra's (Dev Anand) life is threatened and another convict, Dinesh (Satish Kaul), risks his life to save Arun. Arun and his mother, Mrs. Mehra (Sulochana) find out that Dinesh is on death-row for killing noted Professor Ashok Verma. Arun does not believe that Dinesh is guilty and so he arranges his escape from prison.
