Dr. Vijay imprisoned for murder after confronting corrupt official. Released, he finds wife Aarti accused of killing daughter, now a prostitute. He seeks justice, truth about family's fate. While traveling Dr. Vijay Verma witness some men assaulting a laborer; he intervenes and mercilessly beat them up. A few days later he is approached by the village Sarpanch, Dharamraj and threatened not to take matters further but he ignores this. Then one morning the dead body of his assistant is found in his dispensary; the case is then called up in court where by his witness turns hostile, he is sentenced to a long jail term and his wife, Aarti is accused of having illicit relations with his deceased assistant. She is then outcast from the village by angry villagers and handed over to Bombay's police officer, Pandey who attempt to sexually molest her; when she resists her daughter is killed. A few days later she approaches Minister, Channdas for justice but to her shocked she is instead raped by the Minister. She then attempts suicide but is rescued by advocate Bharti Mathur who promises to fight her case in a court of law ensuring that justice prevails. But Bharti herself is unable to do much due to extreme pressure from her politician husband, Chunautilal. After completing his jail term Vijay's attempts to locate his wife are fertile until one day when he happens to see her in the company of Channdas. One day Vijay comes to the rescue of a poor laborer, who was being beaten by a group of men working for the town's Sarpanch, Dharamraj. This gets him in the bad books of Dharamraj, and he is subsequently arrested for killing his assistant, found guilty, and sentenced for seven years. Dharamraj then summons Aarti and openly accuses her of having an affair with the deceased assistant, and orders her to be taken out of this town, to the custody of Bombay Police. Years later, Vijay is released from prison, and is anxious to meet his wife and child. When he returns home, he finds that his wife and child are nowhere to be found. Upon inquiring, he learns that his wife was jailed for killing their child, and is now earning a living as a prostitute, and is currently the mistress of Member of Parliament, Charandas. When Vijay attempts to meet with her, she refuses to recognize him. An excellent film on the life and legacy of the legendary mystic and guru, Sai Baba of Shirdi. Pooja lives with her doctor husband and a young son. Her son becomes seriously ill and does not respond to any medication, her husband wants him to be moved to a hospital for further treatment, but Pooja has heard of Sai Baba and wants her son to be treated there. Her son regains consciousness for a short while and demands that he be taken to Shirdi, the town of Sai Baba. So they travel there, and that is where they meet with an ardent devotee of Sai Baba who recounts the tale behind the Baba. A young boy who traveled with a marriage procession to Shirdi, he stayed there, grew up, looked after by the kind townspeople, who subsequently named him Sai Baba. He showed Ganpat Rao that he is one with Vithoba and Bhagwan Shri Kishan; he demonstrated to Som Dev that he is one with Bhagwan Shri Shiv; former jailbird Heera regained his eyesight with Sai's blessing; During all of these miracles, the Sai always went door to door begging for alms and food. The legend grew, people flocked all over to witness this new Messiah, one whom the Muslims called "Allah Sai", Christians "Jesus Sai", Sikhs "Nanak Sai", and Hindus "Bhola Sai". Sai could recite scriptures from all the Holy books, whether it was the Holy Quran, the Holy Bible, the Holy Granth Sahib, or the Holy Geeta, and always blessed Hindus with "Allah bless you", and Muslims with "Krishna bless you". After his passing, a temple was built in his memory. It is here that a doubting doctor has to decide whether his ailing son can be treated by Sai Baba, and it is here where we will witness whether faith or scientific reality and logic will prevail. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Bombay City Police suspect that some diamonds are being smuggled through Santa Cruz Airport, they immediately alert Customs Officials, and Airport police who thoroughly check through all the luggage and the passengers who have just arrived. They notice a nervous male, and when they approach to question him, he flees, leads the police onto a high speed chase, then crashes his vehicle against a tree and is killed. The police are able to recover diamonds and jewelery from a suitcase, and trace it to Bhagwandas Jewellers. When Mr. Bhagwandas is questioned, he denies having any knowledge of this, and asks his Munim to go to the Police Station and file a statement to this effect. Before the Munim can carry out his employer's instructions, he kills himself. The police must now determine as to why the Munim killed himself or was he killed by Bhagwandas, and assisting them in their task is a young man by the name of Shekhar, who has fallen in love with Bhagwandas' daughter, Rita. All the clues and trails point to Bhagwandas and his "silent" partner, Shamsher Singh, who was formerly known as criminal don, Shyamlal, but the police have no evidence to link Shamsher to the smuggling racket nor to the death of the Munim. An orphan gets in trouble with the law and is sent to a home for young women. There, for the first time, she finds friendship, compassion, and possibly love. After her parents pass away, teenager Gauri goes to live with her paternal uncle, Kashinath, and his wife. She is ill-treated there, made to do all the housework, and abused by her aunt. She is also asked to work as a servant for meager wages in another household, and her earnings are taken away by her aunt. One day, Kashinath is summoned to the Police Station where he is told that since Gauri has been convicted of stealing a necklace from her employer, she is placed under his care for 12 months. Kashinath undertakes to look after her, but she manages to escape, and beats up Bankelal, who had originally accused her of stealing the necklace. The Police are summoned again, and this time Gauri is placed with Shree Satyanand Anarthalaya, an orphanage run by a compassionate Manager, Ashok. Gauri revolts against all the rules imposed upon her and she is placed in solitary, where she ends up breaking all the windows and furniture. Then one day she escapes, beats up Bankelal severely, and returns back. She is once again placed in solitary. Then Ashok and his associate Murlidhar find out that Bankelal had framed Gauri, and they inform the Police, who make Bankelal confess. In this way, Gauri gets a pardon, and is asked to leave the orphanage, but she refuses to do so and stays on after promising that she will always obey Ashok. When Ashok has a heart attack, she proposes to stay and look after him, but Ashok wants her to leave and get married to Murlidhar. The question remains, will Gauri disobey Ashok or keep her promise and get married to Murlidhar? —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com) As a young, impoverished orphan, Gauri is sent to be a servant in her aunt's house, where she develops into a beautiful young woman. Radha earns a living begging in order to support herself and her crippled and ailing father. They live in a small tenament, under the constant threat of eviction by their landlord for unpaid rent for several months. One day, while begging, Radha meets a young man, Nirmal Chander, who would like to see her improve her status by getting employment, he even goes to the extent of assisting her find work in a mill. He subsequently invites her over to meet his mother, and asks her to marry him, to which she agrees. Nirmal also seeks the permission of her dad. When he goes to get her to make arrangements for their marriage, he finds her and her dad gone. His attempts to locate her are in vain. Then after several months he finds her living in a small dilapidated hut with a young man named Mastram and a child - she calls her own - but claims that she is unmarried.
