Rascals is a comedy about two conmen competing with each other and trying to out-scheme each other in amusing yet surprising setups till they fall in love with the same girl.

When a small time car thief (Menon) steals a Mercedes he is in for a rude shock - for the car contains a stash of Rs 1 crore which belongs to a dreaded gangster (Kher). When the gangster gets wind of the theft he threatens the thief with dire consequences, which leave him 3 days to return the cash. It so happens that the thief`s accomplice has hidden the money in a safe place but suffered a head injury resulting in amnesia. What follows is a hilarious account of thief versus superthief.

In the village of Rameshpur the Thakur (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) and Kalia Singh (Amrish Puri) were all powerful with their vicious unjust rule. The whole village used to dance according to their tune. But in that same village an honest and respectable teacher (Vinod Mehra) on his own singular strength was trying to educate the entire village and improve their living. Thakur could not bear this. So, he made Kalia instrumental and managed to finish the teacher - he was murdered. The teacher's younger brother Arjun (Dharmendra) could not bear this grief of his brother's death. He aimed an axe at Kalia and wanted to kill him. However. Kalia escaped and managed to catch Arjun. He was taking Arjun away with him but somehow Arjun luckily escapes from his hands. The teacher's wife Durga (Aruna Irani) vows in front of the Statue of Mother Durga at her temple that she may make her children brave as lions so that one day she may come back to the village and take revenge against Thakur and Kalia. Time passed by. Arjun aIways was in great grief owing to his separation from his sister-in-law who was just like his mother and her children. After a long time Durga came back to the village with his grown-up children. Munimji's daughter, Radha (Sonam) falls in love with Vijay, Durga's son (Chunky Pandey). The unjust ways of Thakur went on increasing day by day. Thakur tried to molest the Pujari's daughter but Arjun foils his bid and he kills him. To take the revenge against the death of Thakur, Kalia comes to the village. Arjun and the entire village face Kalia, but Kalia succeeded in imprisoning Durga, Vicky, Vijay and Vishal make a deadly effort to release their mother, Durga. But against such great odds of the dacoits they became helpless and the dacoits caught them and tied them up along with their mother. Dacoit Kalia does not want to kill them by shooting at them. Instead he plans to give them all a very painful and agonizing death. How Arjun with his two hundred horses reaches Kalia's den ? How he saves them from the frightening den of Kalia and finishes Kalia...... this can be seen on the silver-screen.

Honest truck driver Balwant watch helplessly as the owners of the trucking company he works for mauled his brother, Jaswant to death. When he lodges a complaint with the police the inspector instead arrest him for this crime; the trucking company owners then burn his house killing his pregnant wife Sumati. Years later Balwant who now calls himself Karamvir operates a court called 'Teesri Adalat' by sentencing wrong-doers to death in a judge and executor style. However he is unaware that Sumati is still alive and has given birth to twins Rajesh and Mahesh; while Mahesh was separated at birth and grows up with Inspector Ram Avtar and his wife - Rajesh is taking care of his mother as she loses her mental balance in the trauma. Rajesh and Mahesh do get to unite as the girls they are in love with are link to each other. After a few misjudgments of situations at hand Rajesh and Mahesh decides that they will bring Teesri Adalat to the court of law - at any cost. —gavin (racktoo@hotmail.com) Balwant is a honest truck driver who lives with his younger brother Jaswant and pregnant wife Sumati. One day he asks Jaswant to drive the truck for him. Jaswant finds out that the truck is delivering smuggled and illicit goods and refuses to drive it. For this, the owners of the trucking company and others beat him up, eventually killing him. Balwant comes just in time to see his brother's assailants and swears to bring them to justice. However, he himself is held by Inspector Amarnath for the homicide of his brother; his house is burned down by the trucking company owners; his wife is reportedly dead in the fire. Balwant escapes from prison and avenges his brother's death by severely maiming the truck company owners. Balwant continues to avenge the innocent, not through the rules of the corrupt police, lawyers and an equally corrupt judicial system but as a vigilante judge and executioner, calling himself "Teesri Adalat". All his sentences result in death. Years later, Balwant's wife is still alive but the trauma has left her speechless. She had given birth to twins, Mahesh and Rajesh. Mahesh was separated from her in childhood but Raja lives with her. Mahesh is adopted by Inspector Ram Avtar. Raja has a sweetheart in Kavita and Mahesh woos Sunita. Balwant and his family's paths cross when in order to get his adopted father a promotion, Mahesh decides to seek out Balwant and put an end to his "Teesri Adalat". —Soumitra
