The film tells the story of Olympian and world championship medalist Dariusz Popiel, who, together with a group of young Polish students, works on rebuilding old, forgotten Jewish cemeteries to honor the memory of those murdered in the Holocaust, whose matzevot (Jewish gravestones) were damaged or destroyed. Combining personal and collective narratives, the film shows the selfless efforts of these youth who question the stereotype of Jewish-Polish antagonism, drawing attention to the memory of Polish Jewry. —G
