The story revolves around Shourya and Divya who are not interested in getting married. But when cornered by their parents they decide to get married and secretly apply for a divorce. Rest is the story of them trying to manoeuvre through this fake marriage and the complications that follow.

Tripura is a village girl who has special powers that allow her to foresee a number of incidents in her dreams. Anything she often sees in her dream becomes a reality. She travels to Hyderabad for treatment and falls in love with a young doctor. They get married but after they settle down she starts getting dreams where she is stabbing her husband. What happens next?

The film is a love story that shows how society creates divisions. The title refers to the rivers Tunga and Bhadra - two big rivers from different parts coming together to form Tungabhadra. But people born and raised in the same place cannot live in harmony. If rivers can meet, why not people? This question is addressed through the film.
