A thug terrorizes people in his area until he falls in love. Desperate to convince his love of his mended ways, he leaves the gang he has been a part of, inviting hostility. Advocate Anand Saxena lives in a small apartment with his wife, Kavita, who came from a wealthy family, and their young son. They live in a crime-prone area as Anand cannot afford to live in a better locality, due to his honesty and integrity. Almost daily they are mocked at, made fun of, and even have their motor-cycle burned at the hands of the goonda elements, led by Captain Dada, who owes allegiance to criminal don, Uncle Kalra. Then Captain Dada meets and falls in love with Anshu Mehra, and introduces himself as Vijay. He changes his character to impress Anshu, and even befriends Kavita. He takes Anshu to meet Kavita, and that's when Anand rips off the mask of respectability from Captain's face, with Anshu having her heart broken, and refusing to have anything to do with him again. He manages to convince Anshu that he is a changed person and she gets him to promise to give up all criminal activity, which he does. Uncle Kalra, however, does not see it his way, and asks his men to kill him at any cost, additionally he wants his son, Raj, to marry Anshu. Then a woman named Bhikni enters her life - she is called Rudaali - one who accepts money in turn for loud laments, weeping, & beating of the chest when a rich man passes away for a small fee, some milk, oil, and flour. Bhikni would like Shanichari to also be a Rudaali, but Shanichari eyes are always dry. When Bhikni is called for a day in another town, it is then Shanichari receives word that Ram Avtar is no more and she is called to be a Rudaali. The commandos daringly rescue the passengers, however, Peter is gravelly wounded and loses his leg in this tactical assault. He is honorably discharged from the army, and goes home to help his father run a small corner store. Subsequently, Major Chauhan receives an invitation to attend the marriage of Peter with his long-time girlfriend, Shirley, which he decides to accept. Upon arrival in the town, Chauhan finds out that there is to be no marriage as Peter is dead. His aggression for cash leads him to deliver a bag to a smuggler named, Mr. Agnihotri; Agnihotri then puts a job proposal to him but he refuses to have any doing with unlawful activities. Later on he is forced to change his mind when he needs money to pay for his mother's medical surgery which Agnihotri provides. After this there is no looking back for Avinash as he continue to climb the ladder working for Agnihotri; Avinash meets and fall in love with a cabaret dancer, Sonia. But Agnihotri's younger brother, Dilip is also fascinated by Sonia; who abducts her and attempt to sexually molest her which forces her to jump to her death from a multi-storied building. Bearing witness to this Avinash loses his cool, locates Dilip and kill him. Avinash is then arrested by the police and his case is called up in the court. This appointment does not last long as some male students decide to make his life miserable, when he resists, they kidnap his blind sister, Geeta, and molest her. When Avinash beats them up, he is arrested, and found guilty by a Judge without even a trial, when he protests, he is sentenced to six days in jail for contempt of court. When he returns he finds that he is no longer employed. He does get employment as a Lawyer for a firm, only to be sacked the next day when they find out he has been in jail. The Kapoors move to Bombay, where his mother has a heart attack and Avinash compromises on all his good values and goes to work for a smuggle and drug dealer, Agnihotri, so as to make payments for his mom's treatment. He falls in love with a dancer named Sonia, not knowing that Agnihotri's brother, Dilip, is also interested in her. Sonia and Avinash get intimate, Sonia gets pregnant, and she moves in with Avinash and his family. Dilip is not satisfied and wants Sonia for himself, so he abducts and molests her leading to her death. An enraged Avinash hunts down Dilip and kills him, thus making himself a target by both the police and the very underworld that he was a part of. Avinash is arrested and held in a cell. It is at this point he decides to spill the beans on Agnihotri and his illicit trades, on the condition that the police offer protection to his sister and mom, which they agree to. All is set for Avinash's court testimony, when he receives a note that his mom and sister have been abducted and he must confess to the killings of both Sonia and Dilip. After a betrayal, Karim is jailed while Don, released for surgery, abducts Anwar's son. Years later, a report on the now adult Allah Rakha's friend Rani exposes dark secrets. Karim Khan is employed as driver for a gangster named Don, who has an accident with his car, and asks Karim to take the blame for it for a hefty sum of cash, which Karim does so, and is imprisoned. But Don does not fulfill his promise, and as a result, Karim's wife, Razia, and new-born son are left destitute. Razia complains to Police Inspector Anwar, who arrests Don and holds him in prison, pending his trial in court. When Anwar finds out that his new-born son, Iqbal, is in need of a pace-maker, which he is unable to afford, he makes a compromise with Don, who lets him have one. Iqbal undergoes surgery and a pace-maker number 786, considered lucky in Islamic faith, is attached to his tiny heart. But Don and a prostitute by the name of Banoo have other plans for Anwar, which they carry out successfully, and abduct young Iqbal, who ends up growing on the streets as an orphan named Allah Rakha. Several years later, Allah Rakha has grown up, and is friendly with a prostitute named Rani, who happens to be the daughter of Banoo. When News-reporter decides to do TV report on Rani's life, she does not realize that she has opened up a Pandora's box, that will bring the past back to life, and expose her life to danger, deceit, and possible death. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com) Karim Khan is employed as a chauffeur by notorious gangster, Don and his colleagues Goga and R.S. Unfortunately Don does not keep up with his promise and as a result Karim's wife, Razia and son are left destitute which forces Razia to approach Don instead Don attempts to rape her when she resists her son is killed. Fortunately Inspector Anwar comes to her assistance and manages to arrest Don and placed him in a cell pending trial in a court of law. Meanwhile Inspector Anwar find out that his son, Iqbal needs a pace-maker to survive which only Don can provide so he decides to let go of Don in lieu of the pace-maker but Don is not satisfy with this and wants to extract further revenge from Anwar by hiring a prostitute, Banoo to ensnare Anwar which she does resulting in Anwar getting separated from his wife, advocate Salma and son, Iqbal. On the run from Don's men, Salma meets with an accident and loses her eye sight; Iqbal then gets into the hands of Razia but he remains temporary with her only to end up in the now release Karim Khan's hand who takes him as his son, closes in on Don killing him, hand over his son to Salma and then return to prison. Years later the boy grows up with Salma and is called 'Allah-Rakha" who is fascinated by a prostitute, Rani who also happens to be the daughter of Banoo. Unfortunately Allah Rakha gets framed in a trump up case and is remanded to prison. Raja is waiting to earn enough money, so he can buy his own boat and can provide the luxuries of life to Mona. Thekedaar (Goga Kapoor) is the owner of the docks & the boats. Cheena (Lilliput) is Raja's mute friend and Raja looks out for him Mr D'Silva (Saeed Jaffrey) is Mona's father and likes Raja. Miss Joseph (Nadira) is Raja's adoptive mom & knows Raja loves Mona. Mr Silva wants Mona to marry Raja, but she considers him as only a friend. Vikram (Shafi Inamdar) is the GM of a large fishing company. Batuk Laal (Satish Kaushik) is his assistant. They both work for Kamla Devi (Madhur Jaffrey), the owner of the firm. Vikram wants to ban small fisherman from the sea as their catch impact the market price of the company's products. Kamla Devi is Vikram's aunt, and he dreams of inheriting her wealth and position. But she informs Vikram that her grandson is moving to Goa from the US. Kamla does not like that her son married a commoner due to which Ravi was born. Vikram had eyes on Kamla's wealth and is not happy that Ravi is moving back to Goa, as the heir apparent. Kamla's son and his wife died when Ravi was 7 yrs old. Kamla brought Ravi back, but kept him in hostel for all his life, and only now decided to bring him to Goa to stay with her. Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) moves to Goa and Kamla wants him to manage the business. Ravi does not like that Kamla speaks disparagingly about his parents, and for taunting his death father for wasting his life by marrying his commoner mother. Ravi sees Mona swimming naked in the early morning sun on the beach and goes nuts. One day Vikram decides to drive his boat right through the local fishermen's nets that were deployed in the ocean, damaging them substantially. Raja is a witness and asks Vikram for compensation at his office. Vikram refuses, but Ravi intervenes and agrees to pay, as he has sympathy for the poor. Ravi starts pursuing Mona, and even serenades her. Mona and Ravi fall in love of which Raja knows nothing. Meanwhile Vikram advises Kamla to drop their fish prices in the market. This would force the poor fishermen to match their prices, which they cannot afford as they need to pay interest on their borrowings. This pricing move would wipe out all the poor fishermen of the area and allow Kamla to corner the entire market. Kamla approves the pricing move. The fishermen led by Raja contemplate their next move, but Ravi reaches out to Raja and befriends him, by drinking with him at a local bar. The friendship between Ravi and Raja grows. Ravi wants to marry Mona, but hesitates to ask her dad, so he decides to ask Raja to represent him. But before Ravi can ask, Raja tells Ravi how much he loves Mona, but hasn't had the courage to tell her. Ravi is heartbroken, and decides to step back from Mona. when Ravi finds that Raja is waiting to buy his own boats before he proposes to Mona, he arranges for a family friend to give Raja a business investment (without Raja ever realizing that the investment came from Ravi). Ravi writes a letter to Mona, and tells her that he is going away. They meet for one last time, and Ravi tells Mona that Raja loves her. Meanwhile Raja is ecstatic that he now has a business investment to buy his own boats. He prepares to propose to Mona. He rushes to Mona, only to find Mona and Ravi in a deep embrace. Raja is heartbroken and spends the whole night alone and drinking. Miss Joseph finds out about Raja's heartbreak. The next day Mona approaches Raja and says that she loves Ravi. And Ravi wont even talk to her, unless Raja fixes things between them, as he does not want to come between Mona and Raja. She categorically says that Raja is a great friend to her, but nothing more. To placate Mona, Raja pretends that all of this was only a ruse to get Ravi and Mona to profess their love for each other publicly. Raja then helps reunite Ravi with Mona. Post this Raja leaves with Miss Jospeh to visit her sister. Vikram tells Kamla about Ravi's affair with Mona. Ravi's grandmother, Kamladevi, is opposed to their love because of class differences. Ravi brings Mona to meet Kamla, but she was away on business trip. Ravi gives a holiday to all servants and proceeds to have some frolic with Mona. But Vikram finds out and tells Kamla that Ravi is alone at her bungalow with Mona. Kamla returns to the house and forces Mona to leave without meeting her properly. Kamla refuses to meet Mona formally, but tells Ravi to send Mr D'Silva to meet her. Kamla insults D'Silva over his and his daughter's status, and throws D'Silva out of her house. D'Silva has an heart attack after he is beaten up by Kamla's goons. When Kamla refuses to apologize to the D'Silva family, Ravi leaves her. Ravi goes to meet D'Silva, but is beaten up by the villagers and thrown outside the village. Kamla asks Vikram to buy the loans of the entire village. Kamla then sends the police with court orders to seize the boats of the entire village. The villagers send Mona to beg Kamla to relent. Kamla offers her a choice between Ravi and the welfare of the entire village. Kamla orders Mona to marry someone else within 7 days. Ravi threatens Kamla that if Mona gets married, he will commit suicide. Meanwhile Raja returns from his trip, & D'Silva asks Raja to marry Mona. Raja decides to help Mona and Ravi. Ravi finds out that Raja really loved Mona and that he sacrificed his own love for the sake of his friendship with Ravi. Ravi is shocked. Meanwhile Kamla decides that she cannot afford to lose Ravi and tells Vikram to get him back, by telling him that she is ready to accept all of his demands. Vikram decides to kill Ravi. Vikram abducts Mona and forces Ravi to surrender. He wants Ravi to commit suicide, but Raja intervenes and attacks Vikram's goons. Raja defeats the goons and asks Ravi and Mona to leave town asap. Ravi refuses to take Mona with him, as he knows that Raja loves Mona. But then Vikram gets up and shoots at Ravi. Raja sees this and comes in between, taking the bullets on himself. Ravi kills Vikram, but Raja dies. Kamla accepts Ravi and Mona.

Then Neha notices a remarkable change in Jaideep's behavior, he abstains from alcohol, starts taking an interest in her dad's business, appears apologetic for his past abusive behavior, and adores her. Then her life turns upside down when she receives a letter from a blackmailer, asking her to pay up one Lakh Rupees or a love letter written to her by Sagar will be mailed to Jaideep. Neha delivers the money, but is unable to get the letter back. She confides about this to Sagar. One day while Sagar and Jaideep are out at a stag party, Neha's house is broken into, and a man named Vikramjit attempts to kill her, but instead ends up getting killed by her. The Police are summoned by Jaideep, who find the letter from Sagar in Vikramjit's pocket. As a result Neha is arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to death under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Ujjain's Raja Vijay Singh presides over his region and rules it with his Maharani Swarnapati, and daughter Rajkumari Indumati. During the annual arena games a challenger by the name of Pitamber from out of this region challenges anyone to a duel with him, and the only one to accept it is Ramchandra alias Ramu. Ramu overcomes Pitamber and is felicitated by Indumati. Ramu falls head over heels in love with Indumati, and even saves her life when she is bitten by a snake. But the Raja does not approve of this match as he would like Indumati to marry a wealthy man, he accordingly instructs Ramu to get rich first before he can even consider marrying Indumati. It is then a magician named Mantrik comes to Ramu's aid, and shows him how to attain wealth. Ramu has to travel many miles, go underground into a deep dark cave, & free a Goddess from a curse of living eternally as a crocodile. It is here that Ramu learns that Mantrik has an ulterior motive in assisting him, so he beheads him, gets a lot of precious stones, jewelery, etc. and heads over to Ujjain to get the Raja to get him married to Indumati. The Raja readily agrees and a wedding is arranged with great pomp, ceremony, and festivities. But Ramu is in for a shock when Indumati disappears during the wedding ceremony, and Ramu undertakes to go and look for her. Bobby (1973), directed by Raj Kapoor, is a landmark film in Indian cinema that revolutionized the portrayal of youthful romance on screen. The film tells the story of Raj Nath (Rishi Kapoor) and Bobby Braganza (Dimple Kapadia), two teenagers from different social and economic backgrounds who fall in love. Raj is the son of a rich Hindu businessman while Bobby is the daughter of a Goan Christian fisherman. Bobby`s parents have no objections to the relationship, but Raj`s father is dead set against the idea of his son being with the daughter of a poor fisherman.
