Four friends wishing to make a quick buck, decide to marry a rich girl. Their plan backfires after they meet Ritu.

In 1992, Deven Chaudhary (Ajay Devgn) lives with his mother Suhasini (Farida Jalal) and 10 year-old only son Raj (Vatsal Sheth). Deven spends considerable time designing the perfect car, calling it DC - which is very futuristic and more advanced than any other car in the market - and registering its patent. The SUV car is said to have 400BHP and 500NM of torque, as well as making it from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds. He also looks after an older Morris Minor MM, handed over to him by his late father, and calls it "Taarzan", which is based on the car's mirror ornament of the Disney character Tarzan. He meets with Rakesh Kapoor (Pankaj Dheer) and his partners, who praise his design but decline dealing with him, as they do not want to give royalty as part of the deal. Later, Deven finds that Kapoor and his partners conned him and registered his design under their name. Deven reports this to a police officer, Inspector Sanjay Sharma (Deepak Shirke), but the latter turns out to be on Kapoor's payroll. Kapoor, along with his cronies and Sharma, attack, and lock Deven in his car. The car is then pushed into the river, causing a bound and gagged Deven to die. Unaware of the truth behind Deven's death, his mother decides to bring up her grandson alone. 12 years later, in 2004, Raj Chaudary (Vatsal Sheth) is now a 22-year-old boy, living with Suhasini, and studies at a college where he falls in love with a rich girl named Priya Rakesh Kapoor (Ayesha Takia). Priya had recently transferred to the college from London and is attracted towards Raj's simplicity and honesty. Rocky (Sikandar Kharbanda) is the college Romeo cum bully and harasses Priya. The young Raj now works in the garage of Kartar Singh (paji) (Amrish Puri) as a mechanic. One day, Raj discovers Taarzan and recognizes it immediately. He somehow pools money and buys it at a throwaway price, which was 5000 rupees. Raj wants to update the car that reminds him of his father Deven. Little does he know that with the car, he has also brought back his father, whose soul is trapped inside the car. Rocky spikes Priya's drink in a bid to rape her, but Raj accidentally drinks that and proposes his love to Priya, which she finds charming. Kartar is moved on learning this and aides Raj in repairing Taarzan. Taarzan is totally revamped into a car even more advanced than Deven's design and Raj decides to rename it DC (as Raj's father's name Deven Chaudhary), to honor Deven's memory. Rocky and his entourage attacks Raj when they see that Raj has a spanking new car and Priya with him. That night the car drives itself and attacks Rocky and his goons and injures them badly. Rocky gets really scared and thinks Raj was behind the attack. Here, Deven's spirit possesses Taarzan and starts killing all those who were responsible for the murder: He kills Kailash Chopra (Mukesh Tiwari) when the latter is on his way to Palghar (The car is badly damaged in this, but it completely self-repairs back to its pristine new condition), he then kills Mahesh Saxena (Shakti Kapoor) during New Year's Eve (by drowning him in the same lake where Deven was killed), he kills officer Sanjay Sharma, in the latter's police jeep by pushing it down a ravine & when Sanjay tries to hide in his garage, Deven spills motor oil all over it and sets fire to it which consumes Sanjay. and finally, he kills Anthony D' Costa (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) when D' Costa decides to stay away from the car, by going to Nagpur. Since the car now belongs to Raj, he becomes a suspect in eyes of Inspector Khurana (Gulshan Grover), the investigating officer. Khurana has traced the car tracks to the location of Kailash's death and its license plate was recorded by Mahesh's wife before Mahesh was killed. But Khurana is unable to pin Raj since he has a solid alibi for both instances. But at the time of D'Costa's death, Raj and Priya find his car missing and go to Khurana. Khurana receives a call from D'Costa, saying that the car is trying to kill him, while Raj and Priya are sitting in front of him. The mystery deepens. Here, Kapoor returns to India after learning that all his partners have died. Kapoor is revealed to be Priya's father. When the car returns to Raj's garage, he chains it to avoid any further murders. Khurana threatens to crush the car if it is connected to any further deaths. On Priya's insistence, Kapoor goes to meet Raj, but after learning that Raj is Deven's son, Kapoor assumes that Raj has somehow found the truth and is using Priya as a pawn. Kapoor decides to kill Raj and take Priya back with him to London. Priya and Raj are both clueless, but Raj is shocked when Kapoor tells him the truth. Here, Taarzan comes alive again and in front of disbelieving eyes of Kapoor and Raj, jumps in the ocean to save Raj. Deven's spirit now becomes visible to everybody. In front of Raj, Suhasini, Priya, and Inspector Khurana, a terrified Kapoor confesses the crime. Khurana arrests Kapoor, while Deven says his last goodbye to Suhasini and Raj. With Raj, Suhasini, and Priya united, Deven's spirit becomes free, and he ascends to heaven, with Raj and Priya living a happy life afterwards. Later Raj marries Priya.

Bombay City lives in fear of a notorious thief who calls himself Chindi Chor, and steals whenever and whatever he desires without any regard to security, and police protection. When Ghoshal announces the exhibition and subsequent auction of Emperor Babushah's crown, Chindi challenges him that he is going to steal this priceless crown, and Ghosal accepts the challenge, and hires private security guards. Chindi carries out the theft, and two of the security guards, Vikram and Ajay, and an accomplice, John D'Souza, become prime suspects, and are on the run. They must apprehend Chindi and recover the crown to absolve themselves of this crime. While being chased by security guards, the trio crash into a wall, and are transported back to the 10th century, straight into the palace of Emperor Babushah himself. The trio think they are on the sets of a Bollywood movie, and take nothing seriously, until they are imprisoned. It is then the hapless trio realize that they must not only escape, but must also take the crown, back with them to the 21st century to absolve themselves of this crime. During the course of the tour they fall in love after much bickering. When Raja comes to know that to marry Sapna he has to convince her three uncles for their support, he sets off on his mission.

Jeeva (Bobby Deol) is from a struggling family. He falls in love with Kiran (Malaika Arora Khan). Due to their differences in social class, Kiran's father does not approve of their relationship. To punish Jeeva, Kiran's father frames his mother Neha (Farida Jalal) and two sisters for prostitution and bribes the police into arresting them, which leads to the three of them committing suicide (by setting themselves up on fire) due to pressure from the society. Kiran also kills herself, ashamed of what her father has done. Jeeva seeks revenge by killing Kiran's father (Mohan Joshi). Jeeva later becomes one of India's most dangerous assassins in Bombay with Madan Bhai as his handler, and the only person who knows his identity. Jeeva is a conscientious killer when he takes the contract to eliminate Pankaj Kharbanda (Pramod Moutho), who wanted to grab the slum land by displacing poor people. The slum dwellers gathers Rs 5 Lakhs for Jeeva's fees, but he charges them only Rs 1 per bullet. Jeeva then craftily lures Pankaj out of his secure office by mounting an attack and then eliminates him with ease. Jeeva stays in a society and is known to the neighbors as a doctor. Jeeva lives with Scorpions in his apartment. Jeeva lives next to the Bali family. The father Vikas Bali (Ishrat Ali) works for a corrupt police officer named Devraj Khatri (Ashish Vidyarthi) who works in the drug trade. Devraj confronts Vikas for adulterating drugs by 50% and supplying that to Devraj's customers. Devraj finds this out when one of his regular customer complains about the quality of the drugs supplied. Devraj wants Vikas to admit how much money he made, but Vikas maintains that he did nothing of the sort. But secretly Vikas admits to his wife that he mixed the drugs to earn some extra money to fulfill her desires for material possessions and to separate her and Kiran (by getting Kiran a different apartment as he cannot stand the daily bickering between Kiran and her stepmother. Kiran Bali (Rani Mukherji) is the youngest daughter of the family and strongly dislikes them. She has a stepmother (Dolly Bindra), who mistreats Kiran and has a bias in favor of her own daughter Nikki. Kiran's brother Vijay (Sachin Khedekar) is coming to town to meet her. Kiran tries to befriend Jeeva many times, but he is too engrossed in his killing to have any time for her. S.K. Puri (Police Commissioner) (Avtar Gill) wants to arrest this unknown assassin who is causing deep embarrassment to the police department as he is able to take-out high-profile targets with ease, without being seen, and without leaving any evidence for the police to lead to him. One day, Kiran is in Jeeva's apartment delivering milk to him. While she is there Devraj Khatri comes to Bali's apartment and brutally kills them all (including her brother Vijay) - Kiran is the only one to survive as she was in Jeeva's apartment. Kiran saw Devraj shoot her brother and father from Jeeva's keyhole in the front door. She faints while witnessing the shooting, but later regains her consciousness, after the police has done their job and carried the dead bodies away. Kiran calls Puri and says she can identify the shooters. A mole inspector Khan (Mahavir Shah) informs Devraj, who figures out that Kiran was hiding in a neighbor's apartment. When Kiran reaches home, she tells Jeeva that she called the police. Jeeva immediately sets fire to the apartment and escapes with Kiran. Kiran figures out that Jeeva is an assassin, and she begs Jeeva to train her. Jeeva soon finds himself taking Kiran under his wing and so, he trains her in handling weapons to get revenge against the men who had brutally murdered her family. It's not easy as Kiran insists that she will stay with Jeeva. Jeeva is unable to carry out his missions as Kiran keeps delaying him. One day she takes him shopping, one day she washes all his guns and so on. But he likes Kiran and cares for her. Madan Bhai (Veerendra Saxena) is Jeeva's friend and his handler. He figures out that Jeeva is now in love and hence not as efficient as he used to be. Slowly both Jeeva and Kiran figure out that they both love each other. Devraj launches many attempts to kill Kiran, but Jeeva is able to save her every time with his alertness. Meanwhile Puri investigates and finds that Vikas Bali was twice arrested on drug possession charges but released on Devraj's testimony to the court. Puri summons Devraj and he is alerted to Puri's investigations. Jeeva starts training Kiran so she can defend herself. Meanwhile he investigates the death of Vikas Bali and finds out that Devraj is responsible. He organizes a counterattack on Devraj, and even hits his target, but unfortunately Devraj survives. Now Kiran goes after Devraj, but he is alert and captures her. Jeeva rescues Kiran, while Devraj is away. But Devraj tortures Madan Bhai and finds where Jeeva is hiding with Kiran. Devraj attacks Jeeva with full force. Jeeva is able to get Kiran to escape through the back pipes of the apartment and sacrifices himself to kill Devraj with a lethal grenade blast. Madan Bhai meets Kiran and hands her the entire wealth that Jeeva had accumulated over the years.

A pair of twins separated at birth. One grows up as a Hindu in India, while the other is raised a Muslim in Pakistan. They are forced to battle each other during an Indo-Pak war. When an honest school teacher testifies in a rape case against a prominent businessman's son, he is psychologically tortured and forced to commit suicide. His young son then takes the law into his own hands in order to avenge his father. School-master, Sachidanand Agnihotri lives a middle-class life-style with his family consisting of his wife, Gayatri and son, Vishal. Sachidanand is honest to the core and thus he is unable to keep any permanent job as his honest policy is regarded as a liability. One day he witnesses Nagesh the son of a wealthy, influential and corrupt social worker, Jaspal Rana raping a female. His attempts to involve the police in this matter only leads to frustration; unable to witness the injustice done to his father Vishal decides to take a stand only to be thrown behind bars. The case is then called up in court and on the advice of advocate, Ashok Pradhan, Jaspal and his men decides to create such situations that Sachidanand find hard to comprehend which weakens him making him unable to explain things in the right manner; thus Pradhan is able to prove to the court that Sachidanand is mentally unfit and under intense pressure Sachidanand commit suicide. Before he could even do that, Guddi is killed, and the evidence points at Deva. The police launch a manhunt for him, and in response, Deva abducts the State's Chief Minister. Priya soon changes her mind when Vijay comes up with evidence that Raja is the son of a hit-man gangster by the name of James; and Raja is wanted for the murder of two women, Professor Verma, and a male watchman named Bandruddin, who allegedly saw him kill the two women and the professor. When ACP Ramakant's elder son is killed, his attempts to find justice the legal way meet little success. His younger son, Vishal, decides to take the law into his own hands. Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramakant Chaudhry lives with his wife, Revati and younger son, Vishaal. His eldest son Vikas was murdered by criminals who are still at large. Vishaal tends to be hot-headed and cannot stand injustice in any form which often gets him into trouble now and again. Ramakant's honesty and dedication towards his job starts to create problems for the criminals in Mumbai city so much that he eventually stands accused of killing one of his fellow officers, is arrested and placed before the court of law. In court, Ramakant is proved mentally unstable with orders to be confined to a mental asylum. The same day the police also arrests Vishaal for physically assaulting the Police Commissioner, Desai. Widowed Advocate Triloki Prasad (Om Prakash) lives a wealthy lifestyle in a small town in India with two sons, Advocate Ashok (Vijay Sharma) married to Geeta (Lily Chakravarty), and Alok (Amitabh Bachchan) who has yet to settle down in their law firm. Alok is fond of music and enrolls in classes run by Pandit Jamuna Prasad (A. K. Hangal). On his return, his father asks him to accompany Ashok to their law firm and start learning to practice, which he agrees to do. Triloki wants Alok to learn basic law from Ashok and eventually study for a law degree. Triloki does not encourage Alok's interests in singing and other fine arts. Ashok understands and tells Alok that while he will need to come to the office, but after that he is free to do what he wants. Triloki himself doesn't attend office as he is running for local elections and is focused on that. Alok met Tonga wallah Ganeshi (Asrani) at the station upon his return. Ganesh and Alok used to be childhood friends. Ganeshi's father used to drive a Tonga for Triloki, but was fired when Triloki bought a motor car. Alok is fond of music and learns from Ganeshi that a courtesan Sarju Bai Banaraswali (Chhaya Devi) sings very well. Ganeshi is a tenant with her and hence knows about her. Radhiya (Rekha) is Ganeshi's sister and is learning music from Sarju Bai. Alok goes to the slums to meet Sarju Bai and she chases him out thinking he is a goon lusting after Radhiya. Ganeshi finds Alok and brings him to his hut, where they sing a song together, which Sarju Bai hears. Sarju Bai is impressed to know that Alok learned music from Pandit Jamuna and takes him under her wings. Maharaj Dinanath (Manmohan Krishna) is a singer in his own right. He has feelings for Sarju, but never expresses them and continues to care for her selflessly. Sarju tells the story of Raja Bahadur (Sanjeev Kumar) who lost his wife.. Raja was a huge fan of music and Sarju was young. She left her Kotha and went to Raja that night, when his wife died. Together they sang a duet and that's how Sarju shared Raja's grief with him. One day, Triloki finds out that Alok has not been going the firm but is instead spending time in the local slums with a former courtesan named Sarju Bai Banaraswali (Chhaya Devi). He cautions Alok about this, but Alok continues to visit Sarju Bai. He and Radhiya get close to each other. When Mr. Gupta (Yunus Parvez) approaches Triloki about taking possession and demolishing the slum area (Gupta had leased his land to the slum area many years ago. The land was next to his mill which is now growing and he needs the land back to expand his own business), Triloki readily agrees and with his expertise manages to sway the Court's decision in Gupta's favor. Meanwhile Triloki sends Alok to meet Gupta and Mrs. Gupta (Lalita Kumari) daughter Sulakshana (Farida Jalal) for a possible marriage. Sulakshana tells Alok that she loves someone else Kishan (Benjamin Gilani) and hence cant marry Alok. As a result of Triloki's legal brain, Sarju Bai and others are rendered homeless. With the fee he receives from Gupta, he asks Alok to purchase a used car for himself. But Alok purchases a horse-carriage and decides to drive it himself to make a living. His enraged father asks him to leave the house. Alok stays with Ganeshi, Radhiya and Sarju Bai and is now considered a member of the family. When Triloki finds out that Alok is doing well in his work, he decides to hire motor coaches to transport people at a much cheaper price, thus cutting off Alok's earnings and perhaps forcing him to reconsider his decision, apologize, and return home to his father. It is on.. Neither Triloki nor Alok are willing to step down from their positions. Soon, Ganeshi and Alok see their incomes dwindle to nothing. In desperation, Ganeshi sabotages the buses by breaking their fuel pipes. The buses catch fire, but Ganeshi is caught and imprisoned for 6 yrs. Sarju Bai begs Alok to marry Radhiya, which he does. Soon Radhiya is pregnant and gives birth to a son. Geeta wants to bring Alok and his son back home, but Triloki is adamant. When Geeta insists, Triloki asks her to leave the house. Ashok goes with Geeta. Yrs pass and Alok & Radha's son (Master Ravi) is now a toddler. Alok has TB and is sick. Radhiya meets Ganeshi in prison, who advises Radhiya to take Munna with her and leave Alok. she and Munna can settle in Banaras with Sarju and Maharaj. This way Alok might be invited back into the house by Triloki, and this could end up saving his life. Radhiya starts nagging and fighting with Alok, but he wont budge at all and reconcile with Triloki. Radhiya takes Ganeshi's advise and leaves for Banaras. One day, Triloki's car is broken and he takes a carriage home, not realizing the Alok is driving it. Back home, father and son exchange pleasantries, before Alok goes on his way. Alok learns that Geeta and Ashok no longer stay with Triloki. Triloki can see that Alok is badly ill. 8 months pass and Alok has not written back to Radhiya. Meanwhile Sulakshana is married to Kishan and visits Alok in the hospital where he is admitted. That day Maharaj also arrives and takes Alok with him to Banaras since Sarju Bai wants to see Alok before she passes away. Sarju and Radhiya are devastated to see Alok in such pitiable state. Eventually Sarju Bai passes away after Raja Bahadur comes to meet her (Maharaj visits Raja Bahadur and begs him to come and meet Sarju) one last time on her death bed. At her eulogy, Alok sings the song that once Sarju sang for Raja Bahadur. Raja is moved and realizes Alok's talent. now Triloki finds himself all alone and wants to go to fetch Geeta and Ashok back. Raja Bahadur meets Triloki at his mansion and tells him that Triloki has made a grave mistake by not understanding Alok's talent. Raja Bahadur tells Triloki that Alok is dying and needs his father. Triloki is moved and visits Alok in Banaras. It is implied that Alok dies shortly thereafter and Triloki returns home with Radhiya and his grandson, who is as good a singer as Alok.

A terminally ill man, Ravi frames himself for a murder so his family receives the reward money. When he is successfully cured, he looks for the real killer to vindicate himself.
