Shinda, a young man living in a small town in Punjab, is a mastermind involved in the business of liquor smuggling. Then, a new Deputy Superintendent of Police moves into town and a large order for liquor comes in. Shinda must find newer and smarter ways of evading the law, while also wooing the woman he is in love with. Is he up to the challenge?

The film is an emotional family drama revolving around a child and his forced visit to Punjab conceived with a comic tone.

The film tries to reduce the generation gap bringing together and blending the old and new. The film keeps intact the emotions of both the generation and give an understanding point of view. It has romance, comedy and Bollywood action.

Based on the 1976 novel, Anhey Ghorey Da Daan talks about a family living in Bhatinda who deals with social and labor inequities until a fight breaks out during a lunar eclipse.
