A hidden loot of 500 million rupees sends a bunch of eccentric folks on a madcap misadventure, where they all vie to get their hands on the money. Masti revolves around three married men who look for affairs outside their marriages. They plan to cheat on their wives, but this leads them into a trap, where they realize the importance of their wives and their love.

For rich businessmen Harbans Rai and Ranjit Rai, poverty is an anathema. They wish to get their children Madhu (Juhi Chawla) and Ajay (Ajay Devgn) married to each-other. But, fate works in mysterious ways! Madhu falls in love with a chirpy, poor mechanic Raja (Aamir Khan), while Ajay falls in love with Kajal (Kajol), a simple, poor girl. No sooner than the fathers get to know of these affairs, do they start to create misunderstandings among the lovers, and device ways to separate them.
