Things start off on the wrong paw when Zeus's owner George (Gary Valentine) runs afoul of the school's no-nonsense instructor Vernon (Martin Kove) and Zeus manages to fail every lesson. To make matters worse, Vernon's K-9 assistant, Apollo (voiced by William Zabka) makes class no dog-gone fun. With Zeus failing to improve, the Bannister children Kara and Ben (Francesca Capaldi and Cole Jensen) fear that the pound may be Zeus's next stop. Desperate to turn things around, Zeus enlists the help of a janitor, Mr. Lee (James Hong), who shares his unique training methods. Will Zeus' newfound skills help him win top dog at the school's showcase and foil a trio of bumbling thieves (Dean Cain, Patrick Muldoon, Joey "Coco" Diaz) determined to make this a bummer summer?

Balls of Fury is a humorous movie with Randy Daytona who loses the 1988 Olympic Gold medal for ping-pong, and his father on the same day. Daytona gets another chance when he is approached by FBI agent, Ernie Rodriguez (played by George Lopez), to go undercover at an underground ping-pong tournament run by the evil criminal emperor, Feng (Walken). He goes under a grueling training regiment under Master Wong, played well by veteran actor, James Hong, and his daughter, Maggie (Maggie Q). The characterization is fantastic and the martial art spoofs are really hilarious.

An American attorney on business in China is wrongfully arrested and put on trial for murder, with a female defense lawyer from the country the only key to proving his innocence. American lawyer Jack Moore is in Beijing on what looks to be a successful business trip for his company to enter into a film and television distribution deal with the Chinese government, their main competitor for that distribution deal being HoffCo Telecom out of Germany. Before Jack's boss David McAndrews and the Chinese government sign on the dotted line of the contract, Jack is implicated in a murder, the victim who was discovered in his hotel room. The police were alerted to an incident in his hotel room based on the report of hearing a scream emanating from his room, such a scream which Jack, asleep in the room when the police entered, did not hear. Jack being charged with murder quashes the distribution deal, which instead is awarded to HoffCo. The situation is made all the worse for Jack due to the known connections between the victim and people within high places in China, who may try to manipulate the situation to see Jack sentenced to death for the murder. Jack also has language, cultural and political obstacles to overcome, the Chinese government and thus the court system which seems already to have convicted him to make him, a foreigner, an example. As such, Jack does not trust his court appointed lawyer, a young woman named Shen Yuelin who has always seen her role to carry out Chinese government policy. Things may change when Yuelin begins to believe that Jack is being framed for the murder, the death of an innocent man which she may not be able to tolerate if she has any sway within the Chinese justice system, which she may find she does not. The key to discovering the truth behind the murder, the reason for Jack being framed for it and Jack possibly coming out the other end with his life is an important piece of physical evidence which he knows exists but which seems to be missing. —Huggo A lawyer goes to China, has a one night stand with a Chinese woman he meets there, and she ends up dead. The law immediately points the finger at him, and he must stand trial in China, facing their corrupt and unfair system. A young Chinese lawyer who is assigned to Gere's case starts believing him, and they both fight for his rights in an unfair system. —ShowBob <showbob@geocities.com> Jack Moore, a high-profile international lawyer, is in China for business. Moore sleeps with a young woman, and wakes up to find her dead in his bed. Falsely accused of murder, Moore's only chance is his Chinese advocate Yuelin. Wayne's World 2, while retaining Wayne Campbell, Garth Algar, and Wayne's girlfriend Cassandra Wong, has a much more serious tone and outcome than the first Wayne's World movie. The movie opens with Wayne explaining that the course of the 'past year,' in this case the year between the two movies, has seen a lot of changes in his life. Although he still hosts his television show Wayne's World, he now lives in an apartment building which was once a doll factory. He is very proud of the fact that Cassandra's carrer is taking off and they are still very involved with each other, but talks about how people are telling him he needs to find focus in his life and 'grow up.' In a dream, Wayne sees singer Jim Morrison, who tells Wayne to put on a music festival in Aurora, Illinois. The festival itself makes Wayne go through the process of booking bands and getting permits for the event, although the event itself isn't truly the core to the story. The festival takes a back seat to Wayne's romance with Cassandra, who he comes to acknowledge he truly loves and wonders about their future together. Wayne, about half way through the film, has to prove himself to Mister Wong, Cassandra's father. In a satire of classic Kung Fu movies, Wayne and Mister Wong battle each other while dubbing themselves. Wayne proves himself to be a worthy warrior, but does not earn the complete respect of Mister Wong. Cassandra's carrer now centers around her producer, Bobby Kahn, played by actor Christpher Walken. Wayne is suspiscious of Cassandra and Bobby's relationship together, as it becomes obvious to Wayne that it sees that where ever Cassandra is Bobby is also. Wayne spies on Cassandra and later confronts her about what he witnessed, causing her to punch him in the face and seeminly ending their relationship. Wayne struggles with this throughout the rest of the movie, wanting to make peace with Cassandra and win her back. Wayne later discovers that Cassandra is about to be wed to Bobby, forcing Wayne to abandon his post on the day of his festival to stop the wedding and pronounce his love for Cassandra. At the very last minute, he interupts the wedding ceremony of Cassandra and Bobby, where he then discovers that Mister Wong had set up the wedding to gain his green card. Wayne and Cassandra then return to Wayne's music festival where she performs and Aerosmith arrives shortly thereafter. The movie ends immediately after the festival, leaving the viewer to believe that Wayne has finally 'grown up' into an 'adult' now that he has not only confirmed his love for Cassandra but managed to organize and run a music festival without forgetting what it means to 'have fun.' Garth becomes involved with a seemingly older woman in Wayne's World 2, who he later discovers is married and hisentiore relatinship with the woman was a sham to get back at her husband, who she wants dead. Garth's character hasn't seem to have grown or changed much from the first Wayne's World movie, however by the end of Wayne's World 2 it appears as if he has matured emotionally to where Wayne's character was at the end of the first Wayne's World movie, although his character and his problems never appear to have found resolution by the end of Wayne's World 2.

An expert in "kenpo" karate avenges his Koreatown friend, slain by a mobster in Los Angeles. Jeff, a young delinquent, is enrolled by his father in a kenpo school, in the hopes of teaching the boy some self-discipline. Years later, Jeff's mentor, Kim, is being threatened by one of the Korean mafia families. Jeff tries to help his old friend, but is too late to prevent Kim's death at the hands of an unknown hitman. Vowing revenge, Jeff takes on all of the families, using his martial arts skills to find the man who killed his friend. —Jean-Marc Rocher <rocher@fiberbit.net> After Jeff's mother died, he started acting up. His father not knowing what to do with him consults his friend, Kim. Kim suggests that Jeff join a Kenpo school, and Jeff seems to have all of his negative energy under control but when he seriously injures someone, Jeff's father throws him out. Years later, Jeff still stays in touch with Kim and when he calls him he gets the impression that Kim is in trouble. Jeff rushes to help him but too late. Jeff's relationship with his father is still strained. When a Korean gives him info on who is responsible, so he goes out like a bat out of hell but he is told that he is being used. In a New York City dance club, a teenage Chinese girl, named Tyan "Tye" Hwa (Sari Chang), meets and dances with a teenage Italian boy, Tony Monte (Richard Panebianco), much to the consternation of the many other Chinese and Italians in the club. Tye's protective older brother, Yung Gan (Russell Wong), and his friends chase Tony out of the club and through the streets. Tony makes it to Canal Street, the dividing line between Little Italy and Chinatown, and thinks he is safe. After some hesitation, the Chinese gang crosses the border and chases Tony through Little Italy. When Tony runs into an alley and finds a locked gate, it looks like he is about to be beaten with bats and chains. Just then, Tony's older brother, Alberto "Alby" Monte (James Russo), and his friends show up. A fight ensues, but police arrive and everyone runs away. The next day, Tye's girl friends encourage her to go back to the club to see if Tony is there. However, Yung Gan tells her to socialize in their own neighborhood or stay home. Meanwhile, Alby comes into the pizzeria where Tony works and tells his brother to stay out of Chinatown. A Chinese restaurant, the Canton Garden, has just opened in Little Italy, replacing an Italian trattoria. A Chinese gang, led by Yung Gan, comes into the restaurant demanding weekly protection money, telling the owner that being in Little Italy does not mean he can avoid the paying the gang. They steal the $150 in the cash register and tell the owner to bring the remainder owed in the morning. However, when they get back to their car, an Italian gang arrives and starts beating them up. An older Chinese man, named Gung Tu (James Hong), tells Yung Gan that he must be patient. Twenty years ago, the Italians "owned" forty blocks north of Chinatown, but now they only "own" three. Gung Tu predicts that in five years, the Italians will be completely gone, but in the meantime, he advises that peace is good for the neighborhood and bloodshed is bad. Yung Gan heeds the advice and tells the other gang members not to fight the Italians or give the Canton Garden owners any problems. That night, as Tye sits on the fire escape outside her family's apartment, Tony comes into the alley and properly introduces himself. He invites Tye to meet him the next night at the 13th street subway station. Tye and Tony go to the Midtown Cat Club (where no one knows them) where they spend the entire night dancing together. The next day, Alby visits Enrico Perito (Robert Miano), a middle-aged businessman, in Little Italy. Perito tells him that the problem with the Chinese will be handled and to stay out of it. That night, a group of Chinese youth throws a bomb into the Canton Garden restaurant. Upset over the damage to people and stores on the block, Alby gets a gun and goes to Chinatown to retaliate. Also angry about the bombing, Yung Gan and the Chinese gang confront the rogue gang members who threw the bomb. The two factions of the Chinese gang get into a knife fight just as Alby and his friends drive up, firing a machine gun. When the Chinese run away, the Italians give chase. Alby gets cut by a Chinese teenager with a knife. Alby's friend, Johnny Mercury (David Caruso), fires his machine gun into all the buildings in the area. The wise elder Gung Tu meets with Enrico Perito, saying they must control their youth. Later, Yung Gan stabs the young man who threw the bomb into Canton Garden. When the man pulls the knife out of his stomach, Alby and a group of Italians come up from behind and stab him in the back, killing him. They hang his body from power lines over the intersection. The next day, Tony and Tye meet for dinner. She worries what will happen if people find out about the two of them. He tells her nothing matters but the two of them and they cannot let others run their lives. That night, they make love for the first time. The next day, Johnny Mercury begins harassing the owner of the Canton Garden, who has a food booth at an Italian street fair. Tony tells Mercury that the Chinese do not deserve to be harassed. Mercury wonders why Tony is suddenly defending the Chinese. Tye and Tony meet in an alley, but Yung Gan and other gang members catch them together and pull a knife on Tony. Two policemen on horseback arrive, telling them to go their separate ways. As they walk back home, Yung Gan slaps Tye in the face. Some Chinese gang members stab Alby in the stomach and he dies in the hallway of his apartment building. At Alby's funeral, Enrico Perito promises vengeance for Alby's death. Tony questions how killing someone else will bring his brother back. After the funeral, Tony stands in front of Tye's apartment building, yelling for her to come to him. She rushes outside into his arms. Yung Gan confronts her, but Tye says she loves Tony. Yung Gan orders her back inside, saying they are going back to Hong Kong, but she refuses. Yung Gan tells Tye she is no longer Chinese. Tye and Tony walk through the streets together, openly showing affection for each other. One of the rogue Chinese gang members shoots both Tye and Tony in the middle of the street, killing both of them.

A private detective specializing in missing children is charged with the task of finding a special child whom dark forces want to eliminate. Eddie Murphy plays a detective with a speciality of finding lost children. He is told he is the 'Chosen one' who will find and protect the Golden Child, a Bhuddist mystic who was kidnapped by an evil sorcerer. Murphy disbelieves the mysticism but finds more and more evidence of demon worship as he investigates. —John Vogel <jlvogel@comcast.net> In an unknown location in Tibet, a young boy with mystical abilities, the Golden Child, receives badges of honor and demonstrates his power by reviving a dead bird, which is to become a constant companion. However, a band of villains led by a mysterious man breaks into the hidden temple, slaughters the monks and takes the boy away. Some time afterwards, a young woman named Kee Nang watches a Los Angeles TV show in which Chandler Jarrell, a social worker who is confronted by a young Asian woman who tells him that he is the Chosen One destined to save The Golden Child, the savior of all mankind, from the clutches of the evil demon Sardo Numspa, who won't rest until he sees to it that the boy is in his clutches. Success lies in Jarrell's expertise and determination; however, the freelance social worker must first overcome scepticism to protect the unusual kid from the powers of darkness. California, Present Day. Awaking from a nightmare, retired Colonel James Braddock (Chuck Norris) is preoccupied with memories of his experiences during the Vietnam War. After being captured, he was imprisoned in a North Vietnamese prisoner of war (POW) camp and remained in enemy hands even after the conflict ended. The U.S. government classified him as MIA (Missing in Action), until he was able to escape after seven years and return home to the United States. Believing MIA soldiers are still held captive in communist Vietnam, Braddock crusades on their behalf, but is unable to provide any evidence for his claims. At the request of the U.S. government, Braddock returns to Saigon, now known as Ho Chi Minh City in the communist People's Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to participate on an investigative committee about the missing soldiers which is led by Senator Maxwell Porter (David Tress). Upon arrival, Braddock recognizes Colonel Vinh (Ernie Ortega), the ruthless North Vietnamese officer who tortured Braddock at the POW camp. General Tran (James Hong) leads the talks on behalf of his communist government, and presents false evidence that "heroic" Braddock actually committed war crimes, claiming the North Vietnamese imprisoned the American not as a POW, but as a "common criminal." Braddock sneaks into Tran's compound that night to confront the general about the location of missing American soldiers. As Braddock points a knife at his throat, Tran mentions a camp in northern Vietnam, eight kilometers from the coast. Braddock fatally stabs the general when Tran tries to shoot him. Braddock then evades the Vietnamese guards and makes his way across the rooftops back to his room where Ann Fitzgerald (Lenore Kasdorf), a member of the American investigative committee, is waiting. Sympathetic to Braddock, Ann covers for him by climbing in his bed so when the Vietnamese soldiers enter the room and find Braddock and Ann in bed, she claims that he had been with her all night. The next morning, after thanking Ann for helping him and bidding her goodbye, Braddock journeys to Bangkok, Thailand, to seek out and enlist the help of a former U.S. Army comrade named Jack Tucker, nicknamed "Tuck," (M. Emmet Walsh) who now smuggles contraband along the Southeast Asia coast. After convincing Tuck to take him by boat to rescue MIA soldiers, Braddock buys weapons, a bullet-proof assault raft, and the services of a backup helicopter. Meanwhile, Colonel Vinh attempts to assassinate Braddock in Bangkok by sending agents after Braddock, but the American fights off his attackers, and quickly leaves for the mission with Tuck. Although Vinh follows Tuck's boat and slips on board at night wielding an ax, Braddock gains the upper hand and kills his former captor. Anchoring off the Vietnam coast, Braddock and Tuck disembark from the boat and navigate a river inland on the armored raft. Braddock leaves Tuck with the raft while he infiltrates the covert POW jungle camp. That night, Braddock launches a one-man attack against the enemy prison camp. Taking control of the camp after igniting a series of explosions, Braddock learns from a local prisoner that the American prisoners were taken away three hours earlier and are being transferred by truck along a riverfront road. The next morning, Braddock and Tuck intercept the enemy convoy and rescue four American prisoners, but fighting continues as they confiscate a Jeep and make their way back toward the coast. As Braddock and the other Americans reach Tuck's boat, a Vietnamese armed patrol boat appears. At the same time, Braddock's backup helicopter arrives. Tuck fends off the patrol boat with a heavy machine gun long enough for Braddock and the POWs to climb safely into the hovering helicopter just before Tuck's boat is destroyed. Braddock looks down at Tuck's burning boat and sees that his friend was killed in the fight. Back in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese officials issue final statements to Senator Porter and the rest of the U.S. investigative committee, as well as the local and foreign press, maintaining that there are no living American MIAs in Vietnam. Suddenly, the helicopter containing Braddock and the MIAs land outside the building in which Braddock barges into the conference room with the four rescued soldiers, exposing the Vietnamese treachery.

In a dystopian futuristic Los Angeles, the police department forces Rick Deckard out of retirement to hunt four genetically engineered humans on a killing spree.
