On the southeast Asia island of Tian-Huo, a group of scientists are studying a volcano. Young Meng says to her mother Sue that the snow is on fire, but Sue says that is impossible. Then she realizes her little girl is seeing ash from the volcano. Within minutes burning rocks are flying out of the volcano like meteors, and the people in the base camp have to pack up and leave. Sue is able to put her daughter on one of the trucks but cannot get on the truck herself. Her husband, Professor Tao, tries to get to her in his jeep but he has a wreck. Sue can only say goodbye as she watches a hot cloud of gas rush toward her. Years later Professor Tao talks about this volcano to his class, saying it took minutes to go from seemingly dormant to erupting, and that even Vesuvius gave a few hours warning. Jack Harris has built a resort and theme park on Tian-Huo, believing what he was told about the volcano not erupting for another 150 years. He tells people that tourists pay big money to live on the edge. Experts, however, believe he is wrong about the risk. Now an adult, Meng is putting measuring devices in place at different locations on the volcano. This involves being lowered into a hold wearing protective gear. However, she nearly falls in the volcano when being raised. Two of the researchers are romantically involved. The man is given a ring by the girl's grandfather. Guests arrives at the resort and Harris welcomes them. Then he turns over one of the groups to his wife, who serves as their tour guide. Before she takes them out, she tells her husband she wants him to pay more attention to her. Tao visits the island intending to take his daughter home. He has watched video of the volcano and believes it could erupt, and staying on the island will be dangerous. Meng refuses to leave and shows him a model of the volcano at the base station, which displays all the readings from her equipment. The tour group takes a monorail to the crater. Assured they are entering one of the safest places on Earth, the group is lowered into the crater in a vehicle that is designed to withstand the volcano's heat. Then they exit and look at the magnificent view on a platform outside. The happy couple go swimming but soon find themselves in danger as lava blocks the way they went in. Tao and Meng, keeping in touch with the base station, warn the tourists they need to leave. Finally, the volcano comes to life and they have just enough time to leave. One of the researchers in another location falls to his death, and so do several tourists. When they return to the top, the tour group have just enough time to exit the vehicle before it is destroyed. Although the group used one cable car to enter, they need both cable cars to exit. After Meng teaches someone how to operate the first cable car, she and Tao, Mrs. Harris and several others go in the second car. Unfortunately, that is the car which will not make it to the end, as Meng sees from a distance that its cable is broken. The tourists must jump from one car to the other, and if that's not enough, they must dodge the supporting structures. One does not make it. Meng, Tao and Mrs. Harris remain in the cable car when there is no time to exit, and they fall down the mountain. They are picked up in a jeep after they land by the couple who were swimming. Back at the resort, Harris tried distracting the tourists but they now know what is going on and are panicking, running for the exit. Soon flaming rocks are landing on the resort and some tourists are unable to escape. Those that do make it to boats. The news is worse for the village, where people are running for their lives. There is no route to escape. Meng and Tao must figure out a solution along with the one researcher who stayed at the base station when others evacuated, and he keeps in constant contact. Lava is headed for the village, but it can be diverted by releasing water from a reservoir. The group in the jeep encounters numerous obstacles as they head for the control room that will allow them to save the village. Harris watches several news channels which broadcast in different languages, all of which are focusing on this one story. Then he switches to video of the resort and sees a crying girl. He goes out to save the girl. After seeing the girl's mother has died, he doesn't tell her what happened but hands her the watch his father gave him and asks her to listen to it. He hands her off to someone on a boat but says he will wait for his wife. Then he gets hit by a flaming rock. At the facility where they can release the water, flaming rocks are blocking the group from doing anything. However, a drone has been traveling around the island and it can be used to release the water. The lava is diverted from the village. The girl hopes to rescue her grandfather but when they find him, he can do nothing more than say goodbye. Tao gives Meng a tool that belonged to her mother and tells Meng how much he regrets not being able to save her. A helicopter is on the way, but the group in the jeep has to cross a bridge over a river of lava. The bridge falls before Tao can get across. Tao returns to the base station, which is soon destroyed, and takes a motorcycle. When the helicopter rescues the rest of the group, Meng sees a flare go up and realizes it is her father. A hot cloud of ash rushes through the area where the flare came from and Meng cries, knowing there's no way her father could survive. On a ship, Mrs. Harris sees the girl with the watch and asks about who gave it to her. She is told he did not survive. However, while watching news coverage, the group sees amazing footage of Tao being rescued. Meng is soon happy to be reunited with him, and in flashbacks, Tao is shown studying the model of the volcano at the base station, and then again when he sends up the flare. he disappears into a hole. Back on the ship, he explains what he did. Then the credits roll.

Nicola Six (Amber Heard) has clairvoyant powers and discovers that she will die at the hands of one man. She begins an affair with three men to discover which of them is the killer. The story opens with Samson Young (Billy Bob Thornton), a terminally ill American writer who has come to London, apartment swapping with fellow writer Mark Asprey (Jason Isaacs). He is taken there by taxi driver Keith Talent (Jim Sturgess), a crude slob who despite not being very bright, excels at darts. After going to Mark's flat, Keith takes him to a pub called the Black Cross where he meets Guy Clinch (Theo James), the current head of his family's business empire, who is trapped in a loveless marriage with his wife Hope (Jaimie Alexander). Clinch has a disturbed son, who tries to destroy everything he can get his hands on, although he tries to be a good man, and is not crude unlike Keith, but for some reason is his friend. Keith keeps borrowing money from Guy, so he can pay of all the loan sharks he owes, including darts rival Chick Purchase (Johnny Depp). While at the pub, they meet Nicola Six, who has just arrived from a funeral. Keith starts flirting with her. Guy does not but does try to be a gentleman. Samson is fascinated by her. The next day in the park, Samson sees Nicola dump a few books in a bin. Samson picks them out and starts reading them; the books imply that Nicola has the power to see into the future but can only see people's deaths. It tells that she knew how her parents, sister, and best friend were going to die. Nicola knew that she would die a few moments after her 30th birthday on Guy Fawkes Day. In the discarded diary, her last entry was that she met her murderer that day (she met Samson, Keith and Guy) Samson takes the books back to her flat and asks Nicola if she would be the central character for his murder novel. Nicola looks annoyed but agrees. Samson discovers that Nicola lives in the apartment above him and places recording devices between the cracks. Keith tries to hit on Nicola, but she says she knows he is married and has kids. She asks Keith to tell Guy to call her. Nicola then asks Samson to find out how much Keith owes to the loan sharks. Nicola then plays the innocent naive woman with Guy who is trying to help her find her friend in Burma (Enola gay and her son Little Boy). Guy becomes overprotective of her and eventually makes love to her. She lies about being a virgin to Guy, whilst also being the Femme Fatale with Keith (with the promise that he will earn money to pay off his debts, if he goes along with her plans). She tells Guy she is teaching Keith to read and tells Keith it is all part of a con (on Guy) so Keith can pay off his debt. Chick Purchase has bought out all of Keith's debt and Keith has to pay him by Guy Fawke's day. She seduces and manipulates both of them by openly flirting with one in front of the other. Samson emails his novel, The Murderee, to his publicists, Missy and Mark. Missy responds by email that she will not publish it because she believes it is about her. He receives a phone call from Mark saying he admires Samson's nerve. Nicola, pretending to be from social services, visits Keith's flat where she meets Keith's wife Kath (Cara Delevingne) and their daughter. Nicola mocks the way they live and threatens to turn their daughter over to child services. Later that night, Keith goes to Nicola's flat to threaten her, but she has the money (Guy gave her the money, so that Nicola doesn't sell her grandmother's earrings in order to help her friend Enola) to pay off Chick (who paid off the other loan sharks, so now Keith owes it all to him), which he does. Nicola and Samson meet at a restaurant where Samson tells Nicola he thinks the reader will only ever see her as a male fantasy figure. Nicola then tells Samson she knows he is dying and begins to flirt with him. Samson initially rejects her, eventually giving in and making love. Guy breaks up with his wife, as demanded by Nicola, only to realize that there was no Burmese friend named Enola and that Nicola played Guy. At the darts world championship, Nicola rejects both Keith and Guy, kissing Chick in front of both of them. Samson finds photos in one of Mark's books showing his affair with Nicola, on Guy Fawkes Night. On Nicola's 30th birthday, it is revealed that Samson is the one to kill her. Although she knew she was going to die that night, she did not know who would kill her. She accepts her fate and Samson kills her. He then takes her body back to Mark's flat and prints his novel. He renames it London Fields and leaves a note on top of the novel, before placing it on Nicola. He then lies next to her and dies. The next morning, Mark returns home to find them dead. He picks up Samson's novel and starts reading it. He sells the novel under his own name, and it becomes a number-one bestseller. Keith and Kath watch him on television annoyed.

Recently separated from his family, John Moon must cope with poverty in upstate New York by poaching in its wilderness. He shoots and wounds a deer, but, startled by another noise, wildly shoots in another direction. He walks toward what he believes is his bounty, when the wounded deer charges him from elsewhere. He realizes he has shot something else and finds a teenaged girl dying from his gunshot. Panicked, he searches the area and finds her belongings, including a box containing $100,000. He takes the cash, hides the girl's body, but then becomes tracked by criminals wanting their money returned.

They haven't had sex in a year, and they fight constantly about the next TV script they are writing together. They have a son together named Max. They fight constantly. David says Christine is getting fat and she responds by saying David has always had bad breath. Finally, Jane is becoming increasingly unpleasant to be around (Her hair is dirty, and she refuses to clean it), possibly because of the onset of menopause symptoms and her husband's Aaron (Simon McBurney) sexual ambiguity. It's also implied that she is bipolar. They have a son Wyatt (Jake Cherry). Aaron meets another guy named Aaron (Ty Burrell) and they hit it off instantly. Other Aaron loves the cosmetic products that Aaron's company makes, while our Aaron wears the socks made by the other Aaron. They go out for a movie and have lunch together. Together, these women attend charity benefits, have lunch, lean on each other, and wade their way through life. The girls donate a lot of money (millions), but Olivia rebuffs any suggestions that she needs any help or charity from them. she is acknowledged to be a pothead. Olivia starts a new gig for a fat guy Marty (Bob Stephenson), charging him $50 per day, when her usual is $65 per day. Mike (Scott Caan) is Franny's fitness instructor and Franny wants to set him up with Olivia. Olivia shops for beauty product samples at malls as she can't afford the real thing. Mike goes with Olivia on a date but obsesses about his ex-junior high girlfriend who dumped him. and they have nothing in common. Mike goes with Olivia to her cleaning job and ends up having sex with her. But then he charges Olivia for helping her clean part of the house. Olivia is still hung up on her ex, Raymond, who is now married. She still makes blank calls to him every night. Mike tells Olivia if she takes a fitness instructor course for $1800, she can earn $65 per hour. Olivia doesn't like exercise and Franny refuses to lend her the $1800 to complete the certification course. Jane has a huge fight at the supermarket when a couple cuts her at the checkout line. She is asked to leave for creating a scene and then she walks into a glass door, breaking her nose. Franny and Olivia have a huge fight over wasting money on charity dinners, while they wait for Jane to be out. Olivia gets frustrated and calls Raymond. This time she identified herself, but Raymond refuses to speak to her, and his wife Edie tells her to get her own husband. Mike gets Olivia a sexy maid's dress as a Christmas present, and they have sex. Olivia steals a jar of face cream from a job that Christine got her. Christine finds that her neighbors hate her now as her new 2nd floor is blocking the view for everyone on the street. She stops the work. David tells her that she is just pretending to have not noticed, but this build job was always going to ruin the street. Olivia decides to do something about her life and quits all the maid jobs. But when she calls Marty, they start chatting. Olivia decides to take Marty for the charity dinner. They have tons in common. Marty is divorced and has a 10 year old daughter named Ivy. It's not clear what Marty does, and he always fumbles the answer. Turns out Marty is really rich as he inherited all his father's money. Olivia has sex with Marty. Christine asks David to move out and finally sells the house and moves out herself.

Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson), a veteran of the 1754-1760 French and Indian War, is a widower raising his seven children (five sons and two daughters) on his farm in 1778 South Carolina. He manages his land with free servants and employs in carpentry, particularly fashioning rocking chairs, though he has little success with it. Revolutionary War has been waged in other colonies for some time, though Benjamin does not share his enthusiasm for war. In 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, Benjamin Martin was called to Charlestown to vote in the South Carolina General Assembly on a levy supporting the Continental Army. Benjamin abstains, fearing war against Great Britain and not wanting to force others to fight when he himself would not. While there, it is voted that South Carolina join the war against the British despite Benjamin's advice against it. Still, the vote passes, and Benjamin's oldest son, Gabriel (Heath Ledger), joins the Continental Army against his father's wishes. Colonel Harry Burwell (Chris Cooper), a friend and ally of Benjamin's, promises to watch out for him. The war wages on for two more years, and Gabriel writes letters to his family throughout, expressing the horrors of war he's witnessed. At home, Thomas is found by Benjamin, trying on a red coat stored away in his father's war chest, and expresses his desire to join the army. Though Benjamin refuses to let him join, he relents that Thomas may enlist when he's seventeen in two years. Four years later, in 1780, Charlestown falls to the British Army, and a wounded Gabriel returns home carrying rebel dispatches. The Martins care for wounded British and American soldiers. The porch is used as a makeshift ward, and Benjamin receives praise from a British lieutenant (Grahame Wood). British dragoons arrive, led by Colonel William Tavington (Jason Isaacs). Tavington is given the discovered dispatches and orders the identity of the carrier. Gabriel turns himself in, hoping to spare his family any punishment, but Tavington orders the British lieutenant that the wounded Continental troops be killed and the house burned down for having harbored the enemy. Tavington press gangs the Martins' African-American former slaves into the army and arrests Gabriel as a spy. Gabriel's brother Thomas (Gregory Smith) tries to free him, but Tavington kills Thomas, then orders the Martins' house burned and all the wounded Americans executed. Gabriel is led away in a separate convoy, and the home servants, including housekeeper Abigail (Beatrice Bush) are forced into British service. After the British leave, Benjamin goes into the burning house and grabs his collection of muskets and ammo from his war chest, along with a tomahawk. He returns to his remaining children and instructs his daughters, Margaret (Mika Boorem) and Susan (Skye McCole Bartusiak) , and his youngest son William (Logan Lerman), to hide in the fields before making their way to their aunt's house come nightfall. He then gives rifles to his older sons, Nathan (Trevor Morgan) and Samuel (Bryan Chafin), and tells them to come with him. Benjamin and two of his older sons ambush the British convoy transporting Gabriel. Benjamin slaughters all but one of the soldiers in front of his children. Benjamin shows ferocious brutality when he takes his tomahawk vengefully to one of the British privates. Gabriel is freed, and they reunite with the rest of the family at Charlotte Shelton's (Joely Richardson) plantation, the sister of Benjamin's late wife. A solitary survivor of the convoy attack is brought to Tavington. The man gives his testimony and explains that it seemed that just one man was responsible for the attack, proclaiming him as a 'ghost' of some kind. Gabriel rejoins the Continentals, and Benjamin soon follows, leaving the younger children in the care of his sister-in-law, Charlotte. Benjamin meets his former commanding officer, Colonel Harry Burwell, who appoints him as colonel to raise a militia unit and places Gabriel under his father's command. Benjamin and Gabriel split up. Gabriel travels to a quaint town and is reunited with a childhood flame, Anne Howard (Lisa Brenner). Before leaving, he asks permission of Anne's father, Peter Howard (Joey D. Vieira), to write to her. Benjamin is tasked with weakening Lord Cornwallis's (Tom Wilkinson) regiments by guerrilla warfare to keep him at bay in the south before French navy reinforcements arrive. French Major Jean Villeneuve (Tchéky Karyo) helps train the militia and promises more French aid. Among the enlistees is John Billings (Leon Rippy), an old friend of Ben's whose young son shares his contempt for 'redcoats.' John jokes with Ben, saying that rumors have spread of a tomahawk-wielding ghost wreaking havoc on British soldiers. Gabriel asks his father why Villeneuve and other militia often mention Fort Wilderness, and Benjamin tells him that while fighting in the British Army, Benjamin and his men discovered atrocities against British colonists by French soldiers in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Enraged, they caught up with the retreating French at Fort Wilderness and killed all but two of them. The survivors had to present the severed heads of their comrades to the Cherokee, which convinced the tribe to betray the French. Though regarded as a hero, Benjamin never forgave himself. Benjamin's militia ambushes many British patrols and supplies caravans, including some of Cornwallis's personal effects (including a personal diary) and his two Great Danes, and burns bridges and ferries that Cornwallis needs. As Cornwallis attends a lavish party, a supply ship in the bay outside his plantation explodes in a brilliant display while Benjamin and his men row away disguised as redcoats, having stolen all the luxuries on board. Benjamin and Gabriel visit Anne's hometown, where Gabriel calls on her and spends the night, sewn by Anne's mother (Mary Jo Deschanel) into a traditional bundling bag, meant to allow courtship but deter intimacy. Benjamin and his men set up a roadblock and prepare to ambush an approaching supply wagon train. He calls out his militia hiding in the fields to intimidate the British soldiers from retaliating, but the wagon covers are pulled back, and more soldiers emerge. When Benjamin notices Tavington's cavalry approaching, he fires at the convoy and orders his men to retreat. Benjamin and Gabriel barely escape into the forest as the rest of the surviving militia are either killed or captured upon surrender. The captured militia are to be hanged for treason, and Benjamin comes up with a plan. He requests parlay to meet with Cornwallis at the fort where the militia is being held and rides out with his Great Danes. Benjamin pretends that even he has some of Cornwallis' men under his custody, their red uniforms barely visible on a distant hill, and offers a straight swap. Cornwallis agrees, and Benjamin's men walk out. But when Cornwallis' forces go to collect their men, they turn out to be scarecrows. After Benjamin uses a dishonorable and embarrassing ploy to free his captured men, Cornwallis allows Tavington to do everything possible to arrest him. With the aid of Wilkins (Adam Baldwin), a local Loyalist, Tavington has several militiamen's homes burned and their families executed. Benjamin's family flees Charlotte's plantation to live in a Gullah settlement with formerly enslaved residents. There, Gabriel marries his betrothed, Anne. Benjamin gives Anne his late wife's necklace, which has a talisman of Polaris, the north star. He explains that the star is a symbol of unwavering strength and serves as a constant guide. Benjamin begins to bond with Charlotte, having grown feelings for her, and, when he and Gabriel prepare to leave, shares a tender moment with his youngest child, Susan, who speaks to him for the first time since her mother's death. Anne and her family return to their hometown after the wedding, while Gabriel moves on with his father and the rest of the militia. Tavington's brigade raids Anne's town and assembles everyone in the church, including Anne. Knowing that they are secretly aiding the militia, he demands the location of their camp. Despite one towns-person giving it away, Tavington burns the church, killing everyone inside. Upon discovering the tragedy, Gabriel and several other soldiers attack Tavington's encampment, where Tavington kills Gabriel before fleeing. Benjamin contemplates desertion, but after seeing the American flag Gabriel repaired, he is reminded of his son's patriotic dedication and decides to rejoin the others. Villeneuve berates Benjamin's resignation and tells him of how he watched as his wife and two daughters were strung up on a ship overrun by British soldiers and burned alive. Benjamin devises a battlefield tactic that uses Cornwallis's pride against him. Benjamin's militia joins the Continental Army regiment and confronts Cornwallis's troops at Cowpens. Watching the battle from afar, Tavington is impatient and decides, against Cornwallis' express order, to charge forth with his Dragoons. Benjamin and Tavington engage in personal combat. Benjamin rallies the militia to push forward and soon faces off with Tavington, dueling fiercely until Tavington manages to wound Benjamin, forcing him to the ground. As he is about to behead Benjamin, Tavington berates him for wanting to kill him before war's end. Benjamin ducks, grabs hold of a bayonet-fitted musket at the last moment, and stabs Tavington through the gut. General Cornwallis sounds the retreat of his forces, and the rebels celebrate. The British were defeated later that year at the Siege of Yorktown in 1781. The French navy finally arrived to blockade the British, and Cornwallis was bombarded by both the Continentals and the French, holed up in his mansion. He finally acknowledges defeat and surrenders. Afterwards, Benjamin returns to his family and discovers that his former militia has rebuilt his homestead in honor of Gabriel's dream of building a new world.

Bowen (Dennis Quaid), a Knight of the "Old Code" of honor, valor and chivalry, tutoring his young protege, Einon (Lee Oakes) in both swordplay and the values of a knight. Einon is the king's son and heir to the throne. Brok (Brian Thompson), leader of the armies of King Freyne (Peter Hric). Brok tells Einon of a peasant rebellion, and King Freyne wants Einon to witness it being crushed. Bowen tells Einon to remember the difference between battle and butchery. (During the battle, a caption says the movie takes place in England in the year 984 A.D.) In battle Einon is separated from Bowen. King Freyen is killed & then Einon fatally wounded in a accident when a young girl (Sandra) pushes Einon into a pike, driving it into his chest. Einon's mother, Queen Aislinn (Julie Christie) orders only Bowen to be with her & Einon. As Aislinn examines her son's wound, Bowen says Einon is beyond all help. Aislinn looks at a small statue of a dragon and says, "Not all." Aislinn takes Einon & Bowen to a mountain cave where a dragon appears. He is reluctant to help, but Aislinn convinces him that Einon is not a butcher like Freyen & will grow up to be a fine leader. dragon insists that Einon swear to all this himself. Einon swears. Dragon opens a chest plate and removes half his heart, placing it in Einon's chest. As Einon wakes up, he commands the boy to do as he promised. Aislinn kneels before the dragon in gratitude, and Bowen promises to repay the favor any way he can, any time in the future when the dragon might need him. But Einon grows up to be as cruel as his father. He crushes the peasant rebellion, captures their leader Readbeard & orders his eyes to be burnt out. Bowen intervenes but is insulted by Einon. Bowen goes to the Dragon & yells that his gift has corrupted Einon & that now Bowen would spend the rest of his life in hunting the dragon & to kill him. 12 yrs later Bowen is a Dragon hunting mercenary. Brother Gilbert is a monk who finds Bowen on one of his hunting travels. Lord Felton is Einon's minion & keeps track of Bowen & provides him money for killing the dragon in service of the King. Bowen only accepts as he needs funds to keep his horse & equipment. Meanwhile Redbeard, now old, blind, and feeble, is working in a quarry, & has daughter, Kara (Dina Meyer). Einon, now a grown adult, kills Redbeard, just for fun & leaves her to grieve. Gilbert travels with Bowen to write poetry for his dragon slayer. They discover another dragon (voiced by Sean Connery). Bowen moves forward through the falls to kill the dragon, but it escapes. Soon, they come to an empty field. The dragon scoops Bowen into his mouth where Bowen stabs his sword into the dragon's palate. Both stuck, they come to an impasse and remain that way for a number of hours. The dragon has had enough; he pushes Bowen out of his mouth and traps him under his claws. Instead of killing Bowen, the dragon offers an alternative which would be beneficial for both of them. The dragon terrorizes the villages which allows Bowen to offer protection for a fee. Bowen then "kills" the dragon in mock battle. The dragon claims he is the last of his kind. Aislinn is disgusted at Einon, who just manages to evade an assassination attempt by Kara, who is imprisoned. Then Einon realizes that Kara is the girl who pushed him into the pike that led to his dragon heart. Einon is indebted to Kara for this. Einon has sex with Kara, who mockingly attacks him with a knife. As it slashes Einon, the dragon winces in pain. There is link between the dragon & Einon. Dragon doesn't tell Bowen what that link is. Bowen decides to call the Dragon Draco. Aislinn helps Kara escape from Einon's bedroom. She heads back to her village trying to entice another rebellion but is rebuffed by senior villager Hewe. Draco appears & pretends to attack & Bowen arrives to offer protection. Kara accuses him of blackmail. Bowen uses the village's hatred for her & suggest a sacrifice to the dragon. Draco finds the idea disgusting & flies off with Kara, pretending he is appeased. Kara realizes Draco & Bowen are working together. Thats when Einon arrives at the scene & challenges Bowen to battle. Einon says that he made no promises to Bowen & Bowen is disgusted that Einon is as treacherous as his father. Bowen is distracted & Einon defeats Bowen & is about to stab him when Draco intervenes & exposes his chest & reveals his half heart. Einon flees. Kara wants Bowen to lead the rebellion against Einon, but he refuses. Kara exposes Bowen & Draco in front of the villager in their next scam by proving they are working together. The villagers are about to kill them when Draco flies away with Kara, Bowen & Gilbert to Avalon (resting place of King Arthur). At Avalon Draco says that he is the dragon that gave Einon half his heart and he did so knowing that Einon would betray all the vows he made. To gain entry into the dragon heaven he needs to redeem himself. He is keen to help Bowen lead the rebellion. Despondent and having lost faith in the Old Code, Bowen refuses. Bowen then sees a vision at the statue of King Arthur who recites the creed of the Old Code. Bowen repeats the words and is filled with a new sense of purpose, reminded of all that he once swore himself to. Draco appears, smiling, and shields Bowen from the rain with one of his wings. Back at Kara's home village, he tells the people that he is starting a war against Einon, and when they see that he has the support of a dragon, they are all moved to rebellion. The men are trained by Bowen to fight and even Brother Gilbert proves to be a master archer. Brok comes across the village & sees them training with Draco & tells Einon. Aislinn comes to Einon and presents him with a gift... a team of five of the finest dragon slayers in the land. Bowen & the villagers attack Einon's castle. Draco attacks from the air & takes out the castle's defenses. Einon comes out with his army & walks into a trap laid by Bowen where Gilbert & Kara lead the villagers to ambush Einon's army. Gilbert shoots an arrow right through Einon's heart which drops Draco from the sky & is captured by the dragon slayers. Suddenly Einon spurs his horse and races to the castle, orders the dragon slayers not to kill Draco... he wants him alive, and safe..."for all eternity". Draco moans, "Oh... no." Kara leads Bowen & Gilbert into the castle through the secret passage that Aislinn made her escape from. Bowen & Einon battle. Gilbert battles Felton & defeats him while Kara kills the overconfident Brok. Aislinn visits Draco, who knows that she is there to kill him. The hit he took from the arrow helped Einon figure out that his life is tied to Draco's and that as long as Draco lives, Einon is virtually immortal, but if Draco was killed, Einon would die as well. Aislinn explains that she made a mistake years ago when she "saved a creature not worth saving". Einon, kills Aislinn. Einon comes across Bowen, and they battle their way up onto the parapets as Kara watches. Einon breaks Bowen's sword. As Bowen swings away from Einon on a pulley, Einon loses his balance and plunges off the parapet, breaking through a wooden walkway into the bottom of the castle. Bowen reaches Draco and starts to unchain him, and Draco reveals the final piece of the puzzle...through the shared heart, he and Einon share each other's physical pain, but Draco's half holds the life force, and he must die in order to vanquish Einon. Bowen has come to respect and admire Draco too much and cannot bring himself to kill his friend. But Einon appears, bloody but alive, grabbing Kara from behind and putting his sword to her neck. Draco bites hard on his own hand and Einon feels the pain and is forced to drop his sword. Kara pulls away from him, and Einon draws a dagger and rushes at Bowen. In a tense moment, Bown seems unsure until Draco gives him a reassuring smile, pulling back his chest plate. Bowen hurls Kara's ax into Draco's heart. Einon gasps and collapses in shock as Draco smiles at Bowen one last time before peacefully dying. Kara, Brother Gilbert, and the victorious villagers gather around the body of Draco where Bowen is mourning his passing, not knowing who or where to turn to for inspiration. Then he hears Draco's voice telling him to look to the stars. Draco's body dissipates into a rolling ball of reddish light that slowly ascends into the skies, heading toward the constellation that Bowen named him after. The other stars gather around Draco's soul-- the collective of dragons welcoming the last of their kind home. Bowen smiles as he sees that Draco has redeemed himself and gained entry into his heaven.
