A man and woman are in love with each other but cannot pursue their relationship due to the feud between their families. In order to save his love, he decides to reunite the families. Two feuding neighboring families are brought together to celebrate the wedding anniversary of Vishnupratap Singh (Vikram Gokhale) and his wife (Farida Jalal), much to the dislike of Rudra Pratap (Sharad Kapoor). During this get together Abhayendra Singh (Fardeen Khan) falls in love with Mangala Solanki (Richa Pallod). Suman and Mahesh have been married for several years but have not been blessed with any children. Suman prays in the temple frequently and hopes that her prayers will be answered. Her prayers are heard and she soon gets pregnant. During her delivery in the hospital, there is a power outage which sets off a fire, which is soon brought under control by the fire department. Two children, both boys, are saved by a nurse, who soon passes away due to extensive burns. One of the boys is of Suman, but no one knows which one, as the second boy's mother had died during delivery. So Suman and Mahesh take both, Suren and Naren, home in the hopes of solving this mystery. Major Bhagawat Singh comes to their home claiming that he is the father of one of the boys, but again no resolution is reached, and both the children grow up under the loving care of Suman, while Mahesh hopes to identify his son during his lifetime. Years pass by, both the boys are now handsome young men. Mahesh's friend, Sudhakar, asks his daughter, Kiran, to assist Mahesh in identifying his son, and she moves into their house. She starts taking notes and studying them in detail. She falls in love with one of them, and is unable to tell who is indeed Mahesh's son. To make matters worse both Suren and Naren are in love with her, and want to marry her, fully aware that she can only marry one. There is only person who knows this secret, and he/she may not come forward to reveal this - for she/he has a reason for this to be kept secret - forever.

After a security officer's murder, his blind daughter and family face turmoil. A stranger with a criminal past helps them, secretly pursuing his own agenda. The daughter's fiancé is revealed as the killer, complicating matters. Satyaprakash is an honest security officer who works at the docks in a small town in India, and lives with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vishambernath; wife, Janki, a blind daughter, Munni; and an unmarried sister, Juhi. He hopes to make enough money to get Munni's vision back and ensure that Juhi gets married and the rest of the family are looked after well. Before that could happen, he is killed. When the Police come to his house looking for his killer, Janki, unknowingly shields the killer, but when she finds out the truth, she tells them about his location, but the killer flees. This death leaves the family devastated, on the verge of homelessness and ultimate destitution, however, they are saved by the timely intervention of a compassionate young man, Shiva, who assists them financially, gets medical treatment for Munni, and even agrees to find Juhi's elusive boyfriend, Chander, so that they can get married. What the Naths do not know is that Shiva is a killer, who has spent time in juvenile prison for killing his very own mom, and who has a secret and hidden agenda for coming to their aid. Prem Mehra is a wealthy, kind-hearted, and generous man who lives in a palatial home with his wife, Laxmi, a daughter, and two sons, Vijay and Ravi. Dharamdas is an foe of Prem, and he involves gangster and an employee of Prem's (Munshi) to steal some priceless diamonds from his safe, thereby implicating Prem in the theft, and making him lose all his wealth and estate. Prem and his family re-locate to live with their devoted and loyal employee, Rahim. Vijay gets a job as a news-reporter, while Ravi continues with his studies. Prem's daughter's marriage is on the rocks as he now cannot afford to pay the dowry sum of seven lakhs rupees. Prem has a stroke that leaves his paralyzed. Radha is Vijay's co-worker, both fall in love with seek their respective families' blessings so that they can marry. But before they can get married, Vijay suddenly breaks all ties with Radha and instead gets married to the only daughter, Naina, of a wealthy woman, Shraddha, who is also his boss, thus making it clear to his family and Radha that he has married a girl for wealth. But will Naina and her mother accept Vijay as he is - a greedy money-hungry man.
