Somewhere in the mountains of Oregon, a tiny community lives quietly in the shadow of Bigfoot, seeking comfort in nature and one another while struggling with life's challenges.

Based on the medieval fair called Mamankam, which was celebrated every 12 years between 800 AD and 1755 AD, the story of the film is supposedly about a brave warrior (played by Megastar Mammootty) of Malabar and his loyal soldiers.

During the Mamangam festival held at the banks of Bharathappuzha in Thirunavaya, soldiers from various places used to come together to wager battle. For almost three centuries, Valluvakonathiri has been sending suicide squads called Chavers who valiantly sacrifice their lives trying to fight and bring down the Zamorins at the festival of Mamangam, celebrated every 12 years between 800 AD and 1755 AD. Now, in 1695, two more from Valluvanadu, including 12 year old Chaver Chanthunni, a master of the oldest martial art of the world Kalaripayattu, try to accomplish what many have failed in. The film is about Palamattathu Varghese Mappila, a wealthy, retired captain of the Indian Army. He has four children, Christy (Mohanlal), Joby (Dileep), Jessy (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) and Stella (Kanika). Christy is a police informer who is working in Mumbai. His brother Joby goes abroad to study theology, but later opts out of it after he falls in love. Meanwhile, Christy falls in with a dubious crowd in Mumbai. His family has no clear idea about the nature of his activities. All these come as a shock to Varghese Mappila. He is disappointed by his sons and so turns his attention to his daughters, hoping that they marry well. There are several twists and turns that the story goes through before it unveils the truth
