To save Rahul from an accident Sumit injuries his leg and becomes unable to play football. Rahul makes a promise to Sumit that he could fulfill Sumit's dreams by becoming a great football player. One day Rahul meets Puja in a taxi and falls in love at first sight. Puja lives with her grandmother and grandfather. Meanwhile Puja also meets Sumit, whom she admires for his strength grit even being an invalid. Puja and her friends go to Goa and there they are joined by Rahul & his friends who had come there for a football match. Both Puja & Rahul becomes friend. But Puja is getting married to somebody else. Puja's marriage is canceled as somebody accuses Puja as having an affair with Rahul. Puja's grandfather cannot bear this shock & dies. This makes Puja misunderstand & hate Rahul. Rahul tries to help Puja secretly. Whenever she lands in any kind of trouble Rahul helps her and & even steals money from his father to help Puja. Rahul remains in the background & only contacts Puja via letters, where he address himself as a friend. Puja falls in love with this secret friend and is desperate to meet him. On the day of Holi Puja mistakes Sumit, as the secret friend & thrilled with joy she sends a marriage proposal to Sumit's home through her grandmother. Their marriage is finalized. Rahul is heartbroken to see his lady love marrying his best friend but he cannot say anything to Sumit as he is still is indebted to Sumit for saving his life. Puja is angry at seeing Rahul & tells him to stay away from her new life. Finally all misunderstandings are cleared and Rahul marries Puja. —Swarup Basak

Rana becomes a police officer and take care of his family. Here we find the story of a middle-class family struggling financially. The family consists of two sisters, mother & father. Prosenjit Chatterjee as a Rana is the main and a promising character here. We find him to be a daredevil and a terrific fighter against injustice. Once he was traveling with his pregnant sister in a train, he begged everybody for a seat for his sister to sit, but no one paid heed to it. There were some burglars in the train who started looting but, Rana saved it from happening. By this act of his he was given the job of a police officer. In Rana's area of jurisdiction, there lived an MLA name Bikas. He was a very corrupt politician & indulged in all illegal activities. There lived another man Azad who fought against injustice everywhere. Now this minister's girl Jaya, fell in love with Rana. Once it so happened that while Rana's sitter was about to give birth to her child, this minister, Bikas, tried to kill Rana, but his sister was injured and ultimately died. Then Rana decided to take revenge but was initially not allowed to do so. Utlimately MLA Bikas's real character was revealed and in a serious fighting with Rana MLA Bikas dies. —Swarup Basak

Binodini Roy, a renowned industrialist doesn't like her son-in-law who is an uncultured mechanic. Mrs. Binodini Roy, a renowned industrialist, wants to marry off her elder daughter Rupa to her business partner's son. Rupa is against the marriage and hence she escapes from her house with the help of her father. On the way to one of her uncle's house, a cabbie tries to rob her belongings. But she is saved by a handsome motor-mechanic named Somu. Somu takes her to her uncle's house where he turns out to be one of his acquaintances. Gradually, Rupa and Somu come close to each other. One day they have a heated argument; but it's precisely after this that they realize their love for each other. They make up and even get married secretly without informing Rupa's mother. Soon, on her father's request, Rupa returns home. Her mother refuses to acknowledge her marriage; instead she decides to marry her off to her former match. On the day of her marriage, just when Rupa had given up all hope; Somu makes a dramatic entry to take charge of his 'sasurbari' (in-laws' house). But is it only his love for Rupa that has brought him here; or does Somu have a secret of his own? —Swarup Basak
