The movie opens on a stage of a concert hall where a woman is observing two men during a practice. She sends a message on her cellphone, and then there is an explosion. Elsewhere, an unknown person with the classic black silhouette of a man reads the news on the computer and comments on how he is getting closer to his plan of a silent night. Later, on the grounds outside the hall, Conan talks to Ran on the phone as Shinichi Kudo. He investigates and sees an old man carefully picking up a piano key from the piano destroyed from the explosion, and putting it in his pocket. The man leaves in a car. Ran invites him to go to a rehearsal with her at the concert hall that is opening soon. He declines and tells her she's meddling too much which causes her to angrily reply he will never be like Sherlock Holmes because he's tone deaf. Ran angrily hangs up. At the rehearsal; Kogoro, Ran, Sonoko, and the Detective Boys are introduced to the people who will be performing for the Domoto Concert Hall opening; Kazuki Domoto the organist and former pianist, Takumi Fuwa the former piano tuner turned director of the hall, Hans Müller the professional organ tuner, Genya Domoto, son of Kazuki and pianist, Rara Chigusa the soprano, Shion Yuhane the violinist, and Reiko Akiba the main soprano. The kids ask Akiba to help their class choir to sing their school anthem. She agreed, but asks them to leave immediately, possibly to allow Shion, who is shy, perform without fear. Later on, Ran is revealed to still be angry at Shinichi. Sonoko comments that this happened before and that she was angry at him for a week. She asks him how she forgave him. Ran remembers how long ago she walks with Shinichi home and remembers someone singing. The next day, Ran plays the piano while the kids sing the Teitan Elementary School anthem. Akiba comments on their performance; Genta is too loud, Mitsuhiko is not putting enough feelings into it as he was staring at Haibara, Haibara is singing like an adult, Ayumi is perfect, and Conan is off key the whole time. She is revealed later to have perfect pitch. Genta steals a drink of Akiba's tea and suffers in agonizing pain. At the hospital, the doctor says that Genta's throat is severe inflamed by chemicals and he will not be able to speak for about four days. The Detective Boys, Sonoko, and Akiba accompany Genta home. On the way home they are chased by a truck, at one of the turns Akiba takes a different route to get the truck away from them. She trips and is about to be run over until a taxi comes and the car turns. The culprit escapes. Later, two more murders occur. One explosion kills Osamu Shida, with the foot joint of a flute left on the scene. The other occurs when the para glider of the victim is inflicted with fine cuts to cause it to plunge from mid-air. In the victim's car is the head-joint of the flute. These two victims, together with the two dead victims from the earlier explosion, formerly belonged to a group called the quarter quintet. Conan, indebted to Akiba for a reason he has forgotten, follows her to the forest as she is known to relax there on the day before the concert. She is attacked by a gunner who wounds her leg. They escape when the gunner pauses on shooting the killing shot. She does not report this to the police to avoid missing the concert. Upon returning home, Akiba encounters Megure, Takagi and Sato who ask her about her fiancé Hikaru Soma, but she refuses to provide them information until after the concert has ended. Later, at Mouri Detective Agency, Megure reveals to Kogoro that the four victims forced Hikaru Soma to drink alcohol, thus leading to his death in a car accident. This fact makes Akiba, who has a motive, a possible suspect. Conan then asks Takagi whether Soma still had any relative who would want to avenge his death, but he says that he only had a deceased mother and a father whose identity and whereabouts are unknown to everyone. Kogoro deduces that the murderer is Genya Domoto as a year ago the quarter quintet badly performed the 9th symphony of Beethoven whilst drunk. Kogoro assumes Domoto was a Beethoven fanatic and seeing one of his songs defiled by drunks, murdered them. An evidence he points out was Genya's hair was cut the same way as Beethoven. Genya reveals he got his hair from his mother and his hair is natural. Conan and Akiba were knocked out by the culprit. At Domoto Hall, the concert is being prepared. Sonoko says that a balcony is reserved with ten seats, with one for Shinichi. After rehearsal Conan and Akiba look for Kazuki to tell him a key for the organ is a little flat. Near a lake, she and Conan are knocked out by the assailant with a wrench. They wake up downstream where it would take hours before they are found. They hear an explosion at the Domoto Hall. Since the concert hall is built to be soundproof and stable, the explosions outside could not be heard inside. The explosions are slowly destroying the pillars outside the hall to prevent entry or exit. Conan sees a phone on top of a building. He explains that phones work by hearing chords (a combination of one or more notes played at the same time) of sounds as numbers. He knocks the phone down with the ball and Akiba and Conan exert the right chords to dial 110, calling the police. They take a helicopter and enter the building. There, Conan sees the assailant hiding in one of the VIP suites. He explains that the irregular note on the organ sets off an explosion and that there are 24 in total; 23 pillars, 1 in the main hall. He says the concert can't be interrupted because the assailant is holding a detonator also. Akiba buys time for Conan by interrupting the concert to by singing Amazing Grace which involves only the first set of keys on the organs whilst the detonator key is on the third row. Conan enters the balcony of the assailant revealing it to be Takumi Fuwa. Fuwa reveals that the reason he killed the first four people was because his son, Akiba's fiancé, died indirectly because of them; and his pride as a professional piano tuner was thrown away when Kazuki Domoto quit playing the piano. Without his son, wife, and pride of being a tuner for a professional pianist, his life was nothing and he wanted to bring silence to the organ which haunted him. Fuwa's final plan was to destroy all the fans and musicians by setting up 24 bombs in the Music School. He set one bomb for each one of the 23 pillars holding up the building and one in the ceiling of the music hall. An air detecting sensor Fuwa had slipped into one of the pipes of the organ caused this off pitch note, making it flat. This sensor was connected to the bombs. With this method, he was able to detonate each bomb once the off note key was played on the organ. Since any one who had perfect pitch would tell the difference right away, Fuwa got rid of them by injuring Soko Kabe, attacking Reiko Akiba, and locking up Hans Müller, the organ tuner. The cause of the death of Hikaru Soma is revealed. Osamu Shida, Hisao Sone, Takehiko Renjo, and Yosuke Mizumi (who were all from the same musical school Soma attended) had forced Soma to drink although they knew he could not handle alcohol. Soma later died because of an accident that occurred because he was drunk. Hikaru Soma was the son of a single mother and nobody knew who his father was... but it turns out that Takumi Fuwa was his father, and he killed the four music students in order to get revenge for the death of his son. He used the flute parts (head, body, and foot) to throw off the police and lead them to think the murders was the job of a serial murderer who had three targets. Just then the 24th irregular note was played but the final explosion did not occur. Conan reveals he had removed the sensor from the organ before he came to Fuwa. Fuwa congratulates him and prepares to press the detonator but it was shot out of his hand. Fuwa takes out a gun and prepares to kill himself until Kazuki comes and reveals to him the reason he quit as a pianist was to keep Fuwa's pride. Because of Fuwa's old age, his hearing was starting to deteriorate and so was his tuning, to keep his pride he quit being a pianist so he did not have to hurt his friend. Fuwa comes to realize this and surrenders peacefully. While outside the concert, Ran hears Amazing Grace played on a violin. She enters the wood where Conan tells her Shinichi played it to her to be forgiven like that day long ago. At the post credits, Akiba reveals the song Amazing Grace is a song of forgiveness, a favorite of her late fiancé. She sings it on the anniversary of his death near the river which is why she did not pursue revenge like Fuwa did for his son. Conan asks how Ran knew it was Shinichi playing the violin. She replies he has a weird habit when he plays the violin. Conan later in his house's library plays Amazing Grace to try to find his "strange habit".

A woman called Juri comes to Kogoro Mouri with her manager and asks for her help. She got a letter from Kaitou Kid that he is going to steal the Jewel of Destiny which is a star sapphire. Kaitou Kid's message like always is a code. The lady uses it in a play that she is in called "Josephine". During the day of the play, Conan, Ran, Kogoro, Detective Boys, Sonoko, and Professor Agasa go with him to see the play. While getting ready to play the part of Josephine, the kids look around the make up room. Kogoro notices that she is a beginner diver. Ayumi is interested in the cosmetics; she attempts to try one on but gets caught by the make-up artist, Sakai Natsuki. Soon the other actors come in. There's Bunjiro Narusawa, Tenko Tajima, Iaso Shinjo, and Toru Ban. Ginzo Nakamori comes in after them. After arguing with each other, Nakamori introduces someone that Inspector Megure told him to bring. Shinichi Kudo comes in and everyone is shocked, especially Conan. Conan outbreaks, "He's not Shinichi-niichan!" Kogoro asks him how he knows that, and Conan almost told everyone, but stopped himself at the last second, responding nothing. Inspector Nakamori pinches Shinichi's face and determines its the real Shinichi; Conan knows the reason he's not wearing a mask is because he looks like him. Nakamori pinches everyone's faces to make sure none of them is Kid. Shinichi tells everyone that he will investigate on his own and asks if Ran wants to come with him. Conan, determined not to let him be with her alone, begs Ran if he can come too. After checking all the doors with Ran, Shinichi goes off to see the view. Ran comments to Sonoko that something about Shinichi isn't right. The play starts and Conan uses his night-vision glasses to make sure Kid doesn't leave. Kid waves to him and leaves, so Conan runs after him. They eventually get to the roof where they comment they will settle things here. Kaitou Kid comments that his love is waiting to eat dinner with him, and Ran's voice is heard saying, "Conan, dinner is ready!" Conan looks back at Kaitou Kid and he sees he was mimicking Ran's voice. Conan tries to hit him with his soccer ball but misses, and is backed up to the railing. Kaitou Kid shoots and Conan dodges it, but falls off. Kaitou Kid, concerned about him falling, runs off the building and flies after him; Conan uses this opportunity to try and stun him with his watch, but Kid barely dodges it. Conan then pulls a cord coming from his backpack and a parachute is released. After a chase, Kid manages to get away. The cast of the play invites everyone to go to Haido with them because of their work protecting the sapphire. The next day, while waiting for the plane so they can go to Hokkaido, Conan feels like someone is watching him. Meanwhile, Inspector Nakamori goes to where they are going to be staying in Hokkaido early to make sure Kaitou Kid isn't there setting anything up. They look in Juri's cabin and they see a silhoutte of Kaitou Kid. Back at they airport they all get on the plane (first-class) and it seems that Ran invited Eri. Coming late is Shinjo who is Juri's boyfriend; He goes up to Juri and kisses her sapphire ring. While on the plane, Conan figures out the meaning of the card and the four words on the letter. It was to say he was going to steal it on the plane. Right after take off, Juri seems desperate to go to the washroom. When she finally goes in, she comes out in a very short while. Right after coming out, Juri goes to the cockpit to meet the pilots. It seems they know her, and it is revealed she used to be a pilot. Juri goes back and eats one of the chocolates her manager offered her. Kogoro also eats one. After licking her lips, she seems like she is choking and dies. The manager becomes the main suspect as she offered the chocolate to Juri and Natsuki explains to Kogoro that *everyone* has a motive to kill Juri. Conan figures out how Juri was murdered and tries to tranquilize Kogoro, however he accidentally shoots Eri because of turbulence; so he uses Eri's voice and explains how the murderer did it. It is revealed that the murderer is Natsuki Sakai. Apparently, she puts poison in the make-up so that when Juri went in the washroom to pop her ears by holding her nose; the poison got onto the fingers of Juri and after she licked her fingers the poison was introduced into her body. Right after the deduction the plane starts to descend. Conan remembers seeing the pilots kiss Juri's hand thus making them poisoned, so Shinjo and Conan take control of the plane. While alone in the cockpit, Conan tells Shinjo that he knows he is Kid and that the real Shinjo is probably waiting for us dressed up as Kid for the party. Kid tells Conan that the sapphire is fake. While flying the plane, it's struck by lightning. They activate the back up generator. They see that the auto-pilot is broken down so they have to cancel the landing. They manage to pull up but lose one engine in the process and damage the runway. The next thing they notice is that there isn't much fuel left. This is because when everyone was in the cockpit, Ban accidentally hit the fuel gauge button which made the fuel (in separate engines) go into one big tank. Conan finds a place to land (Sakamori Dock). Kid (in disguise of Shinjo) says he can't do it because he injured his hand and that Ran should take his place. Kid opens the emergency hatch and tells them good luck. Kaitou Kid then jumps from the plane. Nakamori chasing the real Shinjo, notice the real kid flying, and so they chase after him. Conan tells Sonoko to take his place and that he has to go to the washroom, also to put on the headsets in case contact is made with the airport again. Conan uses his voice-changing bow tie and tells Ran using Shinichi's voice. Ran tells him to stop acting so cool and that the fate of these passengers is within her hands. She then tells him that she loves him which makes him go silent. She tells him that she see's a ribbon of red lights. Heading towards the dock. Conan sees it and realizes why Kid jumped off. He was going to attract the lights of the police to create a runway so they can see. Ran successfully lands the plane. Ran thinks that the person who jumped was Kaitou Kid's accomplice and she was talking to Kaitou Kid. She is relieved to know her secret wasn't let out.

It starts in a past where the little girl is bouncing the little ball under the cherry blossom tree while singing a song. Heiji was in love with her after he saw her playing outside a temple when he was little. In the present at Beika Station, Conan (using Shinichi's voice) is talking to Ran on the phone. Conan said he's been pretty busy working on the case and Ran told Conan (as Shinichi) to be careful because there's going to be a cold weather. Kogoro is singing while being drunk. He's singing about Yoshinoyama which refers to a play written about two characters in Japanese history. Minamoto Yoshitsune and his concubine, Shizuka Gozen. They separated when Yoshitsune's brother pressed him to flee to northern Japan. That night in Tokyo, Nishikuni Tachi City, there were three men waiting for a person called Benkei. Suddenly, a mysterious masked samurai appeared and used a bow and arrow to shoot and kill one of the men. Then, he takes out a sword and slashes the two other men in cold blood. After that, he collected the books and the mysterious code papers from the victims. Benkei now fled the crime scene. In Osaka at "Tokohei" restaurant, he stabbed the owner which is one of Heiji's friends. He got the same book and the mysterious code paper just like the previous victims had. Later at early dawn in Kyoto, he kills the man and got another same book and the mysterious code paper. He now fled the crime scene. Several days later at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Headquarters, Inspector Megure and the two other policemen from Osaka and Kyoto are having a conversation to the press talking about the wanted criminal. Takagi talks about the Inspector Ayanokoji who was in he same class as Shiratori. Sato says that because he's from noble descent, he's called "The Royal Inspector". Sato points out his left pocket. He always carries around his pet chipmunk in it. The police confirmed that they're one of the members of the robbery group called the Genjibotaru. The Genjibotaru has been stealing the famous Buddha statues. Their activities have been centered in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto since the year of 1991. Their members are named after servants of Yoshitsune, holding the books called the Yoshitsune Chronicles. All but three members have been killed, along with their Chronicles. Otaki announces that all they know is that the killer is skilled in archery and swordsmanship, and that they don't know the remaining three's age or gender. Megure ends the announcement and continues the investigation. At the Hattori Residence, Heiji is reading a magazine on Yoshitsune, he get up and gets ready to go out. He picks up a crystal from a drawer and stares outside at his Sakura tree. Kazuha surprise visits him, and he drops it. She picks it up and hands it over. She somehow knows the importance of the crystal, and gets mad as he leaves. Sonoko, Ran, Conan, and Kogoro arrive at Kyoto Station. Kogoro was requested at Sannou Temple and he brought them on a special occasion, while the Detective Boys get stuck in Agasa's house. Agasa brings them drinks, and gives them another quiz. If they answer it they can go to Kyoto to visit Conan. He asks them if they know Benkei. Mitsuhiko explains the story to Genta. Yoshitsune's childhood name is Ushiwakamaru, and on Kyoto's Gojyouoohashi, he defeated Benkei who wanted his 1000th sword. After he was defeated he became Yoshitsune's servant. At the time the Genji clan, and Heike clan were fighting. Yoshitsune defeated the Heije clan. He was hated by his older brother Yorimoto. And so he committed suicide in the Iwate prefecture. Agasa continued and started the quiz: Benkei had a (fictional) first love named Uzune. When he found out that she was going to marry another man, Benkei: 1) Became Angry, 2) Became Happy, and 3) Cried. Genta and Mitsuhiko both answered angrily since there's no reason for him to be happy. They all got it wrong, Haibara interrupted their talk and the answer is "Cried", because of Benkei's crying spot. Ayumi asked what that was and Mitsuhiko answered that he has a spot just below his knee called "Mukouzune" that made him cry. Genta has no idea why that has anything to do with the quiz, and Ayumi answers that Muko and Uzune are the ones getting married. Combine those two words and you get "Mukouzune". Agasa thought that because Haibara answered it didn't count, but he forgot that she was part of the Detective Boys. Kogoro, Ran, Sonoko, and Conan arrive by taxi to the Sannou Temple. When they enter they are greeted by Ryuen who is a monk of the temple. He introduces them to chief priest Enkai, and three supporters of the temple, antique art dealer Shozo Sakura, noh performer Shuntarou Mizuo, and bookstore owner Taiga Saijo. Enkai said they're more like Kendo friends than supporters. Kogoro mentions a wooden statue that is unveiled every 12 years at the temple which will be presented in three days. Enkai says that the Healing Buddha will be pleased, but Conan sees Ryuen worrying. He takes them to the three Buddha's room, and tells them that the Healing Buddha was stolen 8 years ago. He opens the door and reveals the remaining two, Sunlight bodhisattva on the right, and Moonlight bodhisattva to the right. Ryuen was going to report it, but Enkai stopped him as he believed it would return one day if it was meant to be. While they were drinking tea he gave Kogoro a picture which was in the temple's mailbox. The letter read "Solve the puzzle in the picture, and you will find the whereabouts of the Buddhist statue." Heiji gets out of a store near "Snack Jiro" but to his dismay there were no witness since it committed at early dawn. As he looks across the street he sees a women get robbed by a bicyclist. Heiji grabs the store's banner, and uses it as a staff to hit the bike's peddle and slams the man to the floor. He grabs the purse and gives to Yamakura Tae who owns a Tea House. She and her dancer Chika Suzu give him their cards for him to visit anytime. He notices Chika injury on her thumb. As he rides off in his motor cycle we see Ayanokouji around the corner seeing him off. Back at the temple Kogoro tries to figure out the meaning of the picture that came with the letter. Conan tells the animals name which are drawn on. A cicada, Tengu, and a goldfish on the fifth row, a chicken, and a loach and a dot-mark on the fourth, and between the second and third rows, a violet, Tengu, Mt. Fuji, and an acorn drawn off to the side. Aonoko tells Ran to go sightseeing while Kogoro works on it. Ran tells her that she invited Kazuha so she would guide them around Kyoto, and that Heiji won't be coming along. Ran invites Conan but he's already promised some kids nearby to go fishing in the river. He questions the pictures meaning, who sent it, and with what intentions. At Gojyou bridge Conan goes off to find anything related to the pictures, while there Heiji comes behind him with a shinai, and surprises Conan with a swing. Some kids come by and Heiji gives them the shinai. They take a path a down to the river near the bridge and Heiji tells him of the owner of the Takoyaki shop. He feels indebted to him, because he visited him while still inn middle school. Conan shows him the picture, and tells Heiji to take him to all the places he thinks are relevant to find the statue. The first place he takes him to is the Gojyouten Shrine which according to the Yoshitsune Chronicles was where Benkei, and Yoshitsune met, not on Gojyou bridge. Conan didn't spot any features that were interesting and as they leave Heiji asks him why he was never requested. Conan tells him his dad is high up in the police department, and they wouldn't want any police knowing about the incident. They come to their next location, Benkei stone. It' said that Benkei always sat on it, or that he thrown it from Mt. Hie. They leave once again to Keage Incline. As they walk to the motorcycle they meet with Inspector Ayanokoji who warns them to not interfere with the police's business. Ran, Sonoko, and Kazuha go to Kiyomizudera Temple. They notice Kazuha is sad about something. She tells them that Heiji met his first love in Kyoto. Conan and Heiji go to Keage Incline, and look at the Perfected Great Sun Buddha, Yoshitsune and still find nothing so they go out to lunch. While on the way there, they walk through a field of Sakura trees and Heiji tells Conan his fondest memory. He was at an expedition at Kyoto's temples, and when he jumped on to the temple's latticed window, the grid broke and his head hit the floor, and lost consciousness. When he awoke he heard a girls voice, playing with a ball while she sang. A strong wind passed and he closed his eyes for a moment, and when he opened them the girls was gone. He went outside to find her but all he found was a crystal near the sakura tree. He showed Conan the crystal he always carries with him, and Conan asks whether Kazuha knows the story. Heiji said she did but not in detail. The scene switches to Sonoko, Ran, and Kazuha in a restaurant, talking about the same thing. Kazuha said she found out in a magazine interview article in Kansai's information magazine. Heiji was asked about his first love. He answered that he said it was a girl a little older than him that he met in third grade. He said he has something that belongs to her. Ran says that even though he had a first love she's in the past, and Kazuha's in his future, but Sonoko says that to men, their first love is special. Conan and Heiji come to the west gate of Kurama Temple as a shortcut. When they get off the motorcycle, Conan sees a blue one near the same spot. They go up the stairs to the Inner Sanctuary unaware that the killer is watching them from above. At the top they arrive at Immobile Hall of Soujyougatani where Ushiwakamaru met Tengu and was taught the art of war. Heiji walks up to a tree. While looking, the killer prepares the bow. Conan sees him seconds before and pushes Heiji out of the way. He chases after him down the hill, and Heiji gets his motorcycle ready to chase him. They come to a path in the forest. When they prepare to cross the bridge, the killer cuts half of the rope and Heiji still makes it across just barely. Continuing down to Kurama Temple Station, they take the train tracks, but as they were catching up, the killer uses a smoke bomb which almost causes Heiji to hit a passing train throwing them off the motorcycle. When they stand up they see him take off, and Conan questions why Heiji was targeted. At night they go to Sannou Temple where they meet Sonoko, Kazuha, and Ran. Heiji tells them they were trying to solve the mystery behind the picture. At the Sakura Tea House a Geisha called Kayo Ichi is singing while Chika danced in front of Kogoro, Ryuen, Sakura, Shuntaro, and Taiga. When she finished performing, Chika she served Kogoro some more sake and Kazuha, Conan, Sonoko, Ran, and Heiji come in unnoticed. When Heiji sits down he recognizes Chika from before. Ran scolds Kogoro, but Ryuen tells her he was invited, to help him figure out the Genjibotaru case. Tae asks if it the members of the group who have copies of the Yoshitsune Chronicles. Taiga tells her it's not about Yoshitsune, but actually depicts Benkei's journey. Shuntaro tells them about the "Ataka no Benkei". While escaping from Yoritomo's party disguise themselves as mountain priests, and try to get through the Ataka checkpoint. Yoshitsune's disguise is almost seen through, but Benkei hit's Yoshitsune to fool the checkpoint guards since student's don't hit their masters. When the story is over Sakura asks if he can rest in one of the rooms downstairs, and to wake him at nine. Sonoko opened the shade to the window, and Kayo said it was the Kamogawa where couples get together and look at the sakura blossoms. Heiji looks down and informs Conan of Inspector Ayanokouji looking up from the Misogigawa river. Ran , Kazuha, and Sonoko go down to see the blossom's while the rest stay in the building. Kogoro, still drunk keeps on playing games with Chika while Conan tells Heiji on how the full moon reminds him of him and Ran's meeting. It was two hours past the set time, and Ran was still waiting by their usual meeting place. Shinichi arrived tired, and she was glad nothing bad happened to him. Downstairs in the balcony by the river Ran told Kazuha that she envied her because she gets to see Heiji whenever she wants. But Ran rarely gets to see Shinichi. It's now nine and Tae gets up to wake up Sakura. She doesn't find him in his room, and so she goes downstairs. All but one room is dark. When she opens the storage room she sees his dead body and screams. Everybody comes down immediately, and Ran calls the police. Kogoro tells them his carotid artery was cut by a sharp weapon. They clear everyone out they arrive and Heiji says this was not a robbery. Kogoro picks up Conan and throws him out of the room. He grabbed the keys out of Sakura's pocket beforehand. Inspector Ayanokoji came in with two policemen. Hieji asked Conan if there was a chance it was an outside intruder. Conan says the chance is low but possible. If the killer used the front door, it would've made a sound and he knew that Sakura would be in the storage room. Which means the suspects are Saijo, Ryuen, and Mizou. All three had a chance when they went to the restroom, and theirs a staircase that leads t the basement. One thing concerns Conan. When Mizuo went to the restroom, Chika followed him, but for Ryuen and Saijo, she didn't. Meaning one of those two are the criminal. Using the keys Conan grabbed they go down to Teramachi Avenue to Sakura's Antique Shop. They check his book collection and Conan finds his Yoshitsune Chronicle. On the back he sees Ise no Saburo which means Sakura was the third member of Genjibotaru. They also find a copy of the picture, and believe he sent the letter to Sannou Temple. They inform Kogoro who thinks he's the fifth target. Conan asks if the picture at Sakura's place was a copy, and he kept the original, then couldn't have the killer taken that one. The killer didn't know that Sakura made a copy. Hieji tells them the three suspects he believes is the real criminal, and no one is dumb enough to keep the weapon after the murder. Sonoko says that she heard something being thrown into Misogigawa, but the police checked and found nothing. Heiji tells them an accomplice was involved and had the opportunity to take the evidence before it was found. Conan tells him that would be impossible since Ran and everyone else would've noticed. Kogoro says it's possible the killer slipped in through the window in the basement, his in the bathroom, and waited for Sakura to go into the storage room. After he killed him he could've went through the window again holding the murder weapon. While driving home, Heiji was riding with Kazuha were attacked by the killer. He put a coin in the throttle, stood on the motorcycle and prepared to shoot with bow and arrow. The arrow broke the side mirror on his motorcycle. The killer went ahead of Heiji, and took a ramp to a park, where Heiji and Kazuha soon followed. Heiji told Kazuha to stay where she was while he chased after the killer. He met him halfway near the train tracks where he held two wooden swords. He threw one at Heiji, and challenged him to a kendo fight. As they fought Heiji realized the killer was wearing kote to protect himself from attack. After a few attacks Heiji lost hold of his sword fast. He told the killer to slice him wear he killed Sakura.He quickly lost his balance and tripped. The killer took that opportunity to attack several times. He hit Hieji twice before cutting through a sleeve in Heiji's pocket where he held the crystal. He quickly picked it up, but his vision was starting to lose focus. Heiji was forced in to a tree where the killer prepared his final attack. Before he struck, Kazuha threw a sock with a heavy stone inside and chipped off a good part of the noh mask. He left and neglected to pick up the knife, but took the two wooden swords and ran off. Kazuha tricked the killer into believing help was comiing. Shortly after, Heiji lost consciousness and wakes at Unekouji Hospital with Kazuha, Ran, and Conan by his bed. Otaki and Shiratori come by and ask him some questions about the attacker. Heiji told them if they didn't have enough evidence, that he'll provide them with the physical wounds used by the short sword. Unfortunately even the motorcycle the killer used was stolen. Kazuha remembers she chipped off part of the noh mask. The inspectors leave the room, and Kazuha soon follows to head for the park. Ran, returning from a phone call, goes into the room to find Heiji and Conan gone. They take a train ride, and talk about the fight. Heiji said he wore a coat as a shield, and he coaxed him into taking out his short sword to wound him on purpose. The weird thing was he left the short sword behind and while in he fight tried to pick up the pouch that contained the crystal ball. At Mizuo mansion they meet Shuntaro to talk about the mask the killer wore, and to check on everyone's alibi. Shuntaro from the tea house, went home but because he's single no one can verify his location. The same situation goes to Saijo, he lives on the second floor of his shop with no one around. And neither does Ryuen. Heiji asked if any of them do archery, and Shuntaro said he'd only done archery in his performances using a catalpa bow, Ryuen uses the bow string balance, but only on form and not practice. Saijo says the word Yamakura, but Heiji says Yamakura Tae wasn't around at the time to be accused. Chika visits and Conan notices her stance while sitting, and Saijo also sits but differently with the knees slightly bent. On their way Conan, Heiji, and Chika walk down Ebisu avenue, and starts singing the song which Heiji remembered as a boy. Chika said it's the temari song, "temari" meaning a Japanese handball game. It's about Kyoto's roads that run east and west, and sung in the order of north to south. They part at Oike avenue, and Otaki calls from Kyoto Prefectural Police, and gives him the test results from the hilt of the short sword. It was the same blood type as Sakura, along with the impression as well. Conan says this takes away the four suspects they had. He sees Heiji staring at the place he met the girl, and was surprised by the Detective boys arrival. While walking they lost Genta, and though they tried to reach him using the badges he can't guide them since he hasn't been taught kanji. Conan uses his glasses to locate him, Heiji takes it out of his hands and starts following the signal. On the way Agasa's stomach starts to growl and Haibara takes a pill from her bag, and gives one to him. He developed the drugs to suppress growling stomachs for special occasions, as well as one which are for people who are weak with alcohol, one that turns your face red. Some even give you sickness to take a day off from work. They find Genta in the Rokakku Building. Conan tells him that the badge uses the same frequency as the glasses and they can connect to find each other, with that being said they find how the killer did it. They go back to the tea house and look at the building and the four suspects that were previously thought innocent are now guilty once more. Heiji denies that and says only three people since his first love can't be the murderer. The difference in the song Chika sang is different from the version he heard. The part of "Ane-san Rokakku" as "Yome-san Rokakku". At the park where Heiji was attacked, Kazuha finds the fragment of mask that was broken off in a field of grass. Back at Police Headquarters, Megure looks at three pieces of evidence that were worn by the three victims of the killer. They all had different pieces of clothing with the same color, and design. Takagi figures out that if Shiratori had died, and divided his belongings between them it would make sense. Meanwhile, Shiratori gives a possible explanation on the killers identity. Chika Suzu's mother was a young geisha in Miyagawachou, and passed away when Chika was five. The tea house owner Tamakura Tae raised her from then on, and every month she receives money from an anonymous person. But three months ago the payments stopped. Shiratori receives a call Megure, and calls him for a possible connection of the murders and the meaning of the clothes. He reasoned that either Yoshitsune or Benkei died and so he split his mementos among the Genjibotaru group. Kogoro calls everyone he believes is a suspect and gets it wrong as usual. He accuses Suzu Chika of the murder, because her father was killed as Yoshitsune. He was betrayed by his men and died three months ago. Her accomplice was Ayanokoji or Benkei. At the tea house she brought in the short sword and the chipmunk, while on her way to the restroom she went to the storage room and killed Sakura. She tied the short sword to the chipmunk and let it escape through the basement window where it jumped in the river Misogigawa and headed down. As he headed for his destination Ayanokouji picked it up and later tried to kill Heiji. He then asks if any of them do archery. Ayanokoji didn't, but Chika did but only as a beginner which is why she had the injury near her thumb. Tae refuses to believe that's true since dancers perform and have no time to kill. Conan tells him that even if she did do it, the chipmunk could never carry a short sword. After he failed, Conan tells Heiji that he figured out the killer's identity thanks to Chika's archery. The only thing left is evidence and the missing statue. While holding the chipmunk, Genta gives taking out acorns, let's one slip from his hands and fall into the river. Ayumi said it reminded her of the song "Donguri Koro Koro" which is about an acorn that falls into a puddle. That gives Conan the clue to the map. If he uses the the song as a guideline he should be able to figure it out. From East to West on the map: The fifth row stands for "Gojyou Avenue", The fourth row Shijyou Avenue", Between the second and third row, "Oike Avenue". From North to South: The violet which is "Ogawa Avenue" from the song 'Haru no Ogawa' The tengu is represented in "Karasuma Avenue" The character "fu" is "tomi" so it is "Tominokouji Avenue" for Mt. Fuji The loach is related to "Yana gawa nabe", which represents "Yanaginobanba Avenue" The chicken is "Nishinotouin Avenue" For the cicada there's an "abura semi" which relates to "Aburanokouji Avenue" The tengu again represents "Karasuma Avenue" The goldfish has something to do with "fu", so it is "Fuyachou Avenue" They connected the purple colored violet and Mt. Fuji , the chicken to loach, cicada to goldfish, and both tengu's, it would mean "king". Then they figured out the small dash was also a symbol. Tama can be read as Gyoku, jewels. The dash points to Bukkou Temple. They stop at Rokakku Building for a some rest. Conan tells Heiji that the temple he snuck into was Sannou Temple, because of the blossoms, and the latticed window he mentioned. He also breaks the news that the crystal ball he treasures so much wasn't from the girl he saw, but from the Buddha statue's Byakugou. He reasons that the robbery group Genjibotaru snuck into Sannou temple eight years ago and stole it. While exiting the crystal fell to the floor. Yoshtsune soon noticed it and sent a member of the group to find it. But as he was about to get it, he saw Heiji standing next to the sakura tree where it fell. The leader stored the statue, and later found out the boy was him because of the article. Around the same time or close to it, the leader got seriously ill, but hid the statue's location. On his death bed he gave the seven men clues to the whereabouts of the statue. Whoever found the statue would be the new leader of the group. After the leader died the servants weren't able to figure it out, and so Sakura enlisted help from another member because of his skill as a swordsman. And when they find the statue they split the profit from selling it. However Sakura felt he was safe as he held access to the routes of the black market. The killer hid his true intentions and agreed, soon killing all the members of the group and take all the treasure. But first he had to figure out the puzzle left by the leader. So he asked Kogoro to solve the mystery. They arrive at Bukkou Temple and find nothing there. So Conan runs outside the gate toward a stone sign that read " Jewel Dragon Temple Remains". Heiji's phone rings and it turns out to be the mysterious last member. He's kidnapped Kazuha,, and tells Heiji to come to Jewel Dragon Temple in Kuramayama within the hour alone. Conan gets excited at the opportunity but Heiji collapses with exhaustion. At "Return Bridge" Haibara gets a call from Conan, and moments later at Gyokuryu Temple we see Kazuha tied up and blindfolded inside a room. She listens to the outside subordinates. One says to another to put the "Underworld Katana" in Benkei's drawer, and the bow in Rokakku's drawer. Old monk Enkai tells Ran that Conan and Heiji ran off to Bakkou Temple, and goes off to find them. As she passes in front of the temple she asks a women about Gyokuryu temple. She says it's deep in Kuramayama, and it was evacuated long ago. Now nighttime Kazuha is held in front of Gyokuryu Temple by the killer. Heiji comes in and takes the crystal from his pocket. He says that he attacked Sakura at the tea house in Hontochou. It wasn't Giyon or Miyagawachou because the tea house had a river behind it. He took the Sakura's copy of the photo in his pocket and put it in a terminal. One that security companies use for thefts and lost individuals, and put in the weapon in a plastic bottle and threw it in the Misogigawa river. Later, he accessed the security company's website to find the bottles location, which was recovered later. He waited in ambush as Heiji returned home with his motorcycle, and attacked him with the short sword. Kazuha intervened and being hit, he dropped the sword purposefully, to make them believe it was someone who had escaped with the weapon from the tea house. He revealed the killer to be Taiga Saijo or his chronicled name Musashibou Benkei. Heiji first noticed it when he tried to hide the fact that he did archery. While preparing to sit in Shuntarou's house he drew back his right foot halfway, which is "hansooku wo hiku". People that do archery do it out of habit. Next was when he was asked about archery, he said "Yamakura" carelessly, not meaning Yamakura Tae, but "Ya no makura". Only people that do archery know that term. Saijo explains that he attended the town's kendo school with Ryuen of the Sannou Temple. While training he learned of an old style called "Yoshitsune style". He trained by himself and after two years he stopped attending the gym. He became obsessed with Yoshitsune, and wished to become him, proclaiming his skill as the successor to the Yoshitsune style. However the leader took the title, and he was given the name Benkei. He needed the statue for the money in order to create a dojo at Gyokuryu. After the place was evacuated, it was supervised by the leader. He used it as a place to practice his style, but the leader died three months back and so it was to be taken down. Heiji interrupts him, and goes on explaining his deduction. Saijo used Ryuen as a medium between him and Kogoro. He set him up to send Kogoro a request. He killed Sakura because he found a buyer for the statue. They agree to hand over Kazuha for the statue and crystal. Heiji tells him statue's location is already within the temple. He gives him a quick expression "Is it that you can't see the forest because of the trees?". Saijo let's Kazuha go, but as she walks to Heiji he attacks from behind and he blocks it running to the entrance. It is quickly blocked by four of Saijo's disciple's. As he gets ready for the final attack, he attacks Heiji multiple times only to be dodged. Kazuha see's past Heiji's disguise and figure's out that Shinichi was behind the make-up. In the hospital Ai tells Agasa what Conan called about on Return Bridge. He asked if he can return to his original body even temporarily, and although there isn't the trial antidote of APTX 4869 she remembered the Paical which turned him back for a moment. After he turned back that time, he found out his body created antibodies for it. So Ai gave him the pill which gives a cold to lower his immune systems guard and gave Paical once more. As she thought the experiment was a success, but his body has a severe cold and is very weak. She goes to check Heiji in the room, and find he's gone through the window. Saijo and his men quickly corner him and Kazuha and he feels the effect of Paical wearing out. One of his men attacked and almost killed him, but at the last moment he revealed himself to be Heiji. He tells Shinichi to run before he returns to Conan, and he escapes through the front gates. Heiji makes Kazuha promise to keep her meeting Shinichi a secret. Heiji's sword quickly breaks and they run off inside the temple. Meanwhile Ran runs through the forest path and finds three of Saijo's men. She quickly hides behind a tree, and Shinichi grabs her from behind and quiets her. After a brief conversation he puts her to sleep with the watch and hides her as he transforms back. Kazuha and Heiji go into one of the temples room to find a weapon. It was the room Kazuha was held captive. They walk forward and find a huge cabinet with a large amount of drawers. Kazuha recalls what the guards said when she was in there. She said the sword is in Benkei's drawer. She then recognizes the drawers and relates them to the roads of Kyoto. Kazuha starts singing the temari song to find out the swords location. As he slides open the drawer, Saijo comes in about to attack him, but he uses the sword block breaking the sheathe. It's the demon sword "Muramasa!". They run outside and split up. Saijo's men chase after Kazuha while he goes after Heiji. Conan quickly comes in and starts kicking wooden sticks at their mask knocking them down. He then throws one at a whole stack of wood lighting tree's with it. This is used to draw attention to the temple. Nearby Kogoro wakes up Ran who's still asleep by the tree. They notice the fire and head up the hill. Heiji and Saijo continue their fight on the roof. But fighting seems futile since Saijo has his kote, and draws a poisoned short sword. They continue their fight and Heiji is quickly overcome, just slightly dodging his attacks. He finds himself falling from the roof and arrows surround him from the bottom. Conan throws his watch into the air as a diversion and uses the opportunity to climb the arrows lodged in the building to jump and kick a soccer using his belt at Saijo's short sword. Heiji's finishes the fight with a strike at his stomach with the blunt side of the sword. He break's Saijo's sword and as he's falling catches him. He says "If you were Benkei, Yoshitsune would have been killed at the Ataka checkpoint."Ran and Kogoro arrive at the end take care of the rest of Saijo's men, and Ayanokouji came to arrest them. When Conan was soaring he saw the temple was the answer all along. While Heiji wondered where the statue was, Conan hinted him. Ran believed that meeting Shinichi was only a dream in the end. Kogoro, Ran , Conan, and Sonoko leave Sannou Temple and give their farewell to Enkai and Ryuen. They walk inside the room where the statue lies and find it to their surprise with Heiji's hat on it as a message. Early morning at Gyokuryu, the movie shows Heiji finding the Statue inside the bell tower. He puts on the crystal and parts with it. Enkai said those two make a good combination. Ryuen didn't get it and thought Kogoro and Heiji made the team great. At Kyoto station about to take the trip back home, the Detective Boys play with Ayanokoji chipmunk. Ayumi makes fun of Ayanokoji since he said the chipmunk is his number one friend. She says it's because he doesn't have many human friends. Kogoro makes amends with Ayanokoji and Chika. She already knew her father and she told him it's alright to stop sending money. When they ask who her father is she bows and told them it's a secret. Shiratori, Kogoro, and Ayanokoji figure out that Enkai was the dad. Kazuha starts to sing sing the temari song, and she told him that she was visiting him when she learned it. Heiji couldn't come to preparations so he went to Sannou Temple ahead of her. She was dressed in a kimono, did her hair, and wore make-up. She tried to find him there but she couldn't so she played with the ball. It was then that Heiji realized that Kazuha had been the girls he's fantasize

Child prodigy Hiroki Sawada is introduced by a TV program running in the background, while Hiroki himself is working on a computer. The program host explains that by the age of ten, he is already a MIT graduate school student and has developed a DNA Tracker software and is now in the final stage of his second major project, an artificial brain dubbed Noah's Ark. The program host goes on to explain that Hiroki has been under the guardianship of Thomas Schindler, owner of the software giant Schindler, Inc., since his mother died, and that he has been put under a rigorous study program and has had a somewhat deprived childhood. After turning the TV off, Hiroki finishes Noah's Ark, and sends the software through the telephone lines, which causes his computer to show the message "Noah's Ark Sailed Out", simultaneously triggering an alarm in the guardroom. The security guard calls Thomas Schindler and both try to enter Hiroki's room. When they finally break into Hiroki's room, they find that Hiroki is not in the room. Schindler finds Hiroki's shoes on the balcony; He jumped from the top of the building to his death. The image on his computer screen shows an ark sailing in water and the words "Good-bye Hiroki." Two years later, at the Beika City Hall, Schindler, Inc. holds a demonstration of a virtual reality game system called Cocoon. Many kids, including the Detective Boys, are invited to the demonstration. However, only the kids with badges are chosen for the demonstration. Professor Agasa and Yusaku Kudo arrive at the City Hall. Agasa gives Conan Edogawa a badge and tells Conan that his mother, Yukiko Kudo, would not be there because of an alumni reunion. The rest of Detective Boys trick a few kids by exchanging badges for the Premium Golden Yaiba Cards. They all use the badges and participate in the demonstration. In another room, Schindler kills Kashimura, one of his top employees, and Kashimura types in a dying message: the letters J, T and R. Conan discovers the murder and decides to participate in the demonstration, hoping that the game would lead him to an answer. Yusaku, having worked with Kashimaru on the game, recognizes that J-T-R stands for "Jack The Ripper". When the demonstration begins, Hiroki's artificial intelligence system, Noah's Ark takes control of the game system Cocoon. When two of the parents try to get the children out, the parents get shocked by a sudden burst of electricity. Noah's Ark then warns the audience that if all fifty kids in the demonstration lose the game, it will kill the kids with a large electromagnetic burst. The kids in the demonstration are given a choice of five stages in the game, and Conan and the Detective Boys choose the final stage, a re-creation of an 1800 London mystery. In the beginning of the game, Conan discovers that Agasa's inventions don't work. After receiving a hint from Prof.Agasa they decide to go to Sherlock Holmes for help. As they near 221B Baker Street they meet a strange accordion playing vagrant who sings a strange song, but they shrug it off. Conan and his friends arrive at 221b Baker Street, only to find that Holmes and Watson are at Dartmoor. Mistaken for the Baker Street Irregulars by Mrs Hudson, they are invited inside. Ran finds Sherlock's investigation notes on Jack the Ripper, which implies that Jack is highly likely to have a connection to Professor Moriarty. Since finding the Professor is next to impossible, the kids decide to talk to his right hand man Colonel Moran at his favorite hang-out to find out the Professor's location. After causing a brawl and losing Mitsuhiko, Ayumi and Genta, Conan forces the Colonel into a standoff by holding Moriarty's wine hostage. It is at this moment an elderly gentleman comes and announces that Professor Moriarty requests an audience with the group. After being led to another gentleman in a carriage, Conan calls out Moriarty for testing them; Moriarty was the gentleman who led them there. After explaining their situation, Moriarty reveals that he found and trained Jack the Ripper when Jack was a street urchin. The professor promises the children an opportunity to bring Jack down by posting a message in the next day's newspaper to kill someone, but refuses to name the victim-to-be, telling them they'd find out by reading the paper. The next day after reading the paper they realize the next victim is to be Irene Adler, the only woman Holmes ever loved. It is revealed by Yusaku that while he and Tadaaki Kashimura were both college friends and partners in developing the game, he was also employed by Kashimura as a detective to investigate the motive behind Hiroki Sawada's suicide. Yusaku also reveals Kashimura was Hiroki's real father. In the real world, Yusaku continues to reveal the truth behind the case. Yusaku reveals that the murderer is the company's president, Thomas Schindler. Schindler is revealed to also be responsible for Hiroki's suicide. Hiroki discovered the DNA of Jack's second victim on a dagger purported to have belonged to Jack himself through his DNA searching program. Schindler realized that it was only a matter of time before Hiroki would consequently discover that Jack's blood now runs through Schindler himself. Schindler then proceeded to isolate and pressure Hiroki further, ultimately leading to Hiroki's suicide. Kashimura was killed because Noah's Ark gave that same data to Kashimura. Schindler is immediately arrested. While protecting Irene Adler two more children are lost. Ai also loses while protecting Conan, leaving only three: Conan, Ran and another child, Hideki Moroboshi. They follow Jack the Ripper to a runaway train, where he dons a disguise and merges with the passengers. Conan correctly deduces which one of the passengers Jack is disguised through the use of Sherlock's notes. After being revealed. Jack throws a smoke bomb while Ran charges him. When the smoke clears Conan and Moroboshi find that everyone is gone. Traveling to the engine room they find that there is no driver and that the train is speeding out of control, with the brakes destroyed. Conan discovers Jack and Ran on the top of the train. There, Jack the Ripper reveals that he has tied himself to Ran and threatens Conan. Ran decides to save Conan and sacrifices herself by jumping off the train and into a ravine, taking Jack the Ripper with her. As Conan begins to lose hope, the mysterious vagrant, who is actually Sherlock Holmes, appears and gives Conan some useful advice that eventually helps Conan and Hideki survive the game. After winning the game, Conan reveals that Moroboshi is actually the deceased Hiroki Sawada (in the form of the Ark) in disguise. They chat a little and before saying goodbye to Conan, Hiroki reveals to him that he knows the detective's identity as Shinichi Kudo. After that, the Noah's Ark destroys itself. All the children, including Ran and the Detective Boys, are released from the cocoons. Yusaku then congratulates Conan for beating the game.

The Detective Boys are on their way to a camping trip with Agasa. On the way, they get a view of Mt. Fuji, the biggest mountain in Japan, and the newly constructed Nishitamashi Twin Tower Buildings, which are the tallest buildings in Japan. While looking outside, Mitsuhiko tells Agasa if they may pay a visit, and he agrees. They arrive at Auto Campgrounds where they finish eating rice bowls. Genta punishes Mitsuhiko for not finishing his rice, because the gods will punish him. Nighttime comes and everyone is sleeping soundly in their tents except Genta and Haibara. Genta goes to the bathroom, and on the way back, he spots Haibara on the phone. Not suspecting anything, he runs back to the tent shivering. She talks to a mysterious person on the phone leaving her next location as the Twin Tower Buildings, and saying "he'll be there". Still nighttime, Gin and Vodka are seen in the Porsche 356A talking presumably to Haibara or perhaps listening in on her calls. They'll also be at the Nishitamashi towers. On their way, Genta complains on not fitting in the back seat, forgetting he ate five bowls of rice for breakfast. Mitsuhiko decides to try and play the 30 seconds game. You count without looking at the timer, and whoever is closest to the time wins. Haibara and Agasa aren't going to play. Mitsuhiko goes first getting a time of 40 seconds, Conan gets closer with a time of 27 seconds, Genta counts 59 seconds, and Ayumi gets the perfect score of 30 seconds. Genta asks Haibara who she was talking to on the phone, and she replies he was dreaming. They finally come to the Nishitamashi Twin Tower Buildings, and not shortly after, Ran, Kogoro, and Sonoko arrive by taxi. Surprised, they decide to join each other as Kogoro's old friend from college, Mio Tokiwa, who owns the building. He was invited a week before the opening. Mio Tokiwa's secretary named Chinami Sawaguchi comes outside and greets them to take a quick tour of the building. She explains that all floors above 31st belong to the Tokiwa Corporation, and the showroom spans from the 2nd to the 3rd floor. Mitsuhiko explains to Ayumi that the Tokiwa Company deals with computer software, but are involved with everything concerning computers. At the game room, they meet the Tokiwa executive named Yoshiaki Hara, also a lead programmer who created a particular machine that can show the face of a person in ten years. Ayumi and Agasa take the first try. Agasa didn't change one bit, while Ayumi's photo looks beautiful. Genta and Mitsuhiko take the next seat as they turn into high-schoolers. Sonoko and Ran are next. Sonoko looks old, while Ran looks a bit like her mother Eri. Mitsuhiko and Ayumi look curious to Ran and Conan's reaction. Conan and Haibara refuse to participate but Kogoro forces Conan inside, and Genta and Mistuhiko force Haibara into the seat. After the flash happens, the machines receives an error which save those two from being discovered of their true identities. Sawaguchi received a call to inform them that the party rooms open on the 75th floor. Sawaguchi accidentally steps on Kogoro's shoes, and Hara comments on her clumsiness due to her birth on the year of the boar. They take the VIP elevator which goes to any floor of the building. Sawaguchi points out that the only other way to access the VIP elevator is by the Concert Hall on the 66th floor. Ayumi and Mitsuhiko are amazed and describe the feeling as rising to heaven. They finally reach the 75th floor and find the room a mess in order to prepare for the Opening Party. They meet Tokiwa near the stage and introduce themselves. Tokiwa presents the Japanese artist named Hosui Kisaragi, Nishitamashi councilman named Iwamatsu Oki, and the architect of the building named Hidehiko Kazama who introduced himself as a former student of Teiji Moriya. This instantly brings anxiety to Kogoro and Conan but he reassures them that he has no intention to destroy the buildings like him. Conan points out that the building are asymmetrical. From the window they get a perfect view of Mt. Fuji. On the other side of that window is the B tower which is a commercial building on the bottom while the top is a hotel. The top floor also has an indoor pool, with a retractable roof. With Oki being drunk at the time he speaks with Tokiwa about staying at the hotel for weekend. And although it isn't open, she prepares a suite on the 67th floor for him. Oki then proceeds to ask her to dinner before commenting on her brooch, which she got herself as a gift. Hosui abruptly ends the conversation and leaves without escort. Hidehiko tells Kogoro that Hosui's behavior is due to Mio's treatment of his art. She buys them and sells them for a higher profit. Hara takes out chocolates and give some to Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko. He invites them to his house to test out a new game he's created next Sunday. Haibara walks off, and Mitsuhiko tells Ran that he wishes to speak with her. Ayumi close behind tells Ran the same thing. Sonoko is seen staring at her picture while Haibara walks by, Sonoko decides whether to get a perm or not. Two employees come up to the VIP elevator and talk about how a nice car pulled up. The other employee says it's Porsche 356A which catches Conan's attention. Conan asks for the cars detail which matches that of Gin's car. He quickly runs into the elevator looking down briefly, and sees the Porsche drive off as he approaches the entrance. The next day at a fast food restaurant Mitsuhiko talks to Ran in private about his crush on Ayumi. He likes her but she likes Conan. Mitsuhiko also has started to like Haibara. Although confused if he's a bad person for liking two people Ran tells him he shouldn't be ashamed of it. She says to value and treasure those feelings and to stay friends with them, whether it be Haibara or Ayumi. At a do-nut shop Ayumi talks to Ran about her crush on Conan. She also mentions his crush on Ran. She doesn't believe that, but Ayumi tells her it's "women's intuition". Ran talks with Conan using his bow tie to disguise himself as Shinichi. Ran tells him that Conan has a crush on her. Shinichi tells her it's nothing to worry about. At the Nishitamashi Buildings, B tower 67th floor, an unknown killer prepares to attack Oki. The killer charges and stabs him to death backing him to a closet. Next day at police headquarters, Inspector Megure gathers all the visitors to talk about Oki's death. Chiba reports the time of death was around 10 to midnight, and that a sake cup broken in two pieces were found at the scene. Megure has two possibilities for the sake cup. Either Oki carried it with him and and it fell, or it had a symbolic message to it. On the police board list of suspects, five suspects are put together. Shiratori says that the building isn't open to the public yet making entry impossible, leaving only Tokiwa, Hara, Kisaragi, Sawaguchi, and Kazama as the only people left. Kogoro comes up with a possible meaning of the broken sake cup. Choko (sake cup) refers to chocolate, and the one who likes chocolate is Hara. Megure points out that Hara is the only person to have an alibi. Although they're still investigating the motive, Oki was a councilman with as much power as the mayor. The city initially wouldn't allow the Twin Buildings to be built but Oki overturned the decision. Conan figures it might be Tokiwa, as her brooch looks like the broken sake cup. Although Kogoro denies the possibility, Megure objects and suggests she is the primary suspect. She was staying at B Towers 68th floor, making her closest to the victim. Sonoko said the sake cup resembles the bowl used in Japanese painting, which was used for mixing powder. Taking in those factors puts everyone except Kazama, and Sawaguchi as suspects. Conan points out his past worry that Kazama was a former student of Teiji Moriya. Although Shiratori convinces him that he's more of a technical architect and didn't have a need for perfection like Moriya. Megure brings up evidence against Sawaguchi. Her father was an investigative journalist who passed away due to exhaustion before she graduated from college. Although there is no evidence against her father and Oki. While Megure is talking Conan takes Iwamatsu's picture from a book. He notices that blood is missing in a place where there should be. He associates the sake cup with alcohol which points to the organization, but Ai says that the message is too obvious to be them. Across the table he sees Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko agreeing on something suspiciously. At Beika Station they meet up hoping to get ahead of Conan on the case, but Conan comes from behind and surprises them, making them promise never to do it again. They take the train to see Kazama, and tomorrow Hara. They've also found out that Hosui lives alone in a house he built in Asahino three years ago. They've invited Ai, but she decided not to join as she is doing some cleaning. (At the next scene Ai is watching an old gang movie which mirrors the life she lives today.) The Detective Boys finally arrive at Asahino station, and meet up with Kazama. On entering his home Conan compliments him on his CAD system completely designed for designing buildings and models. Mitsuhiko starts asking a series of questions on Oki's death. Kazama says he had no disputes nor any disagreements with Oki, and even thanked him for his job. Kazama then proceeds to talk about his son whom he calls even knowing he's sleeping. His calm attitude, and presence tells Conan he's not the killer. Next they visit the Kisaragi Residence. Kisaragi is seen kneeling and painting Mt. Fuji, but oddly enough his shades are down not allowing him a view of the mountain. Kisaragi yells at them, but quickly subsides, and as they leave he leaves them a crude outline portrait of themselves. At Agasa's house, Professor Agasa is awoken the the sound of his snoring. He gets up and realizes that Haibara is talking to someone. He calls Conan and mentions that Genta also saw the same thing during the camping trip. Although Agasa fears the Black Organization might be on to her, Conan puts his belief in her. He meets up with the Detective Boys to go and visit Hara. As they arrive Conan notices his doors are partially open. On entry, they see his dead body laying on the floor. Conan spots a single shot wound to the chest, a knife with chocolate cake on it, and a broken sake cup. The police arrive and Takagi questions the meaning of the sake cup. Shiratori explains that because of the cup, they know it's the same criminal, which means he's now turned into a serial killer. Conan speaks with Crime Scene Investigator Tome who on inspection of the cup notices that the broken fragments have no blood stains on it. At the Mouri Detective Agency, Shiratori and Megure, speculate the time of death between 5 and 6 at night. Hara's computer data was also completely erased. Now the prime suspects are Tokiwa, Kazama, Sawaguchi, and Kisaragi. Megure also tried to postpone the opening party, but Tokiwa refused leaving two tickets with invitations on it for them. A Porsche arrives at a building and Gin steps out, enters the building, and we find Vodka ruffling through Akemi's apartment which she leased in secret for one year. Vodka brings up a computer which Gin will use to run a tracing program, to track down Haibara's location. Haibara gets out of her bed and calls the room to leave a message, doing so she leaves her next location. Just three seconds before the trace is completed Conan cuts the line, explaining the danger of her actions. She runs upstairs in tears. The call comes again but it was only to remotely delete the message so no one would hear it. At Teitan Elementary School, Haibara apologizes for herself. She agrees it's a dangerous thing to do, but it calms her down to hear her sister's voice even if it's for ten seconds. The Detective Boys reassure her she's not alone anymore. Nighttime at the Twin Tower Buildings come. At the Central surveillance Room - Basement Level 1 a metallic ball is seen rolled into the room which immediately knocks out the guards monitoring the screens. The culprits are seen planting a bomb in the Main Computer Room, the entrance, and the rooftop of the building. At the Mouri Detective Agency, they're preparing to leave, but are waiting for Sonoko to arrive. Conan asks if Hara might be connected to the Black Organization somehow, Haibara responds that it certainly possible as they're always recruiting people from different fields to meet the demands in research and operations. Sonoko finally arrives, and with a perm like Haibara. Takagi, Chibi, Megure, and Shiratori are seen stationed outside of the buildings because Tokiwa refused their presence, and are left to observe. At the party, the kids see the red Mustang which they believe was disassembled, but as Ayumi pointed out it was loaded onto the cargo elevator. As they enjoy the sunset, Sonoko makes fun of Ran for being in love with Shinichi. Mio walks up on stage, and presents a game she learned from her father Kaneari Tokiwa called the 30-seconds game. Whoever comes the closest or exactly leaves with the mustang convertible as a present. If there is a tie, then it will be settled with janken (rock, paper, scissors). The loser receives a mountain bike and helmet. Everyone but Conan an Haibara give up their watches and start the game. Kisaragi didn't participate either. The game begins and the winner quickly becomes Kogoro by pure luck. Sawaguchi starts to gather up people who helped build the Twins. The lights turn off and the exhibit begins. The announcer presents the many works of Kisaragi throughout his career as an artist. But when the show is over Kisaragi's greatest painting is yet to be revealed. When the lights turn off and it is shown, Mio Tokiwa's corpse hangs on a wire dangling in front of the painting. As Kogoro brings down the body to inspect the damage, a sake cup shows on the floor, this time however, unbroken. Curtains are hung over and Megures team goes up to check the crime scene. Tokiwa's body was attached to a piano wire hook, so as the painting lowered the body rose asphyxiating her. They recreate the crime scene with the lights on the floors as marks for their position. Kogoro accuses Kisaragi for the murder, as his works were being sold at high prices and she was making the profits. Takagi however, believes it is unlikely since he didn't know anything about the other sake cups. Kogoro again makes an unreasonable deduction. This time Sawaguchi is accused, only for her father's ambitions, and protest against politicians. He believed Oki was taking bribes to persuade the council to allow the project. The only proof he presents is that the kanji for choko is boar and kuchi, since she was born on the year of the boar once you rearrange the kanji you get choko. Conan interrupts, but is quickly thrown off backstage where Haibara is waiting patiently. She gives Conan a clue as to how the killer pulled off the trick. If Tokiwa hadn't been drinking, she would've realized someone had attached a wire to her necklace. He finds a pearl where Kisaragi was. He quickly runs downstairs to confirm his suspicion for the motive. At Basement Level 4 - Power Generator Room one of the bombs the killers used has shut down all the lights in A tower. The second bomb quickly goes off in the Computer Room and eradicated all of Tokiwa Corporations Data. Through quick thinking they figure out that the VIP elevators run on an independent power source, and all women and children are to take the elevators directly to the outside, while the men take the emergency stairs, go across the Sky Bridge and descend down B tower. The firefighters come and formulate a plan to put out the fires. The evacuation plan starts and Conan almost fits in the elevator but the weight restrictions limit him. The Detective Boys decide to get off on the 66th floor because of a women and her baby, and get stuck in the process. Conan figures that the planning and destruction of the building was too precise to be anyone else but the Organization, including the destruction of the computer room. Finally Conan, Ran, and Sonoko's opportunity arrive and they take the elevator. While descending he figures out that because of the messages left by Miyano, they believe she's in the elevator, and Sonoko is the target thanks to her new hairdo. He uses his glasses to zoom in across B-Tower's roof and sees Gin with a sniper pointing directly at her. Conan tricks Sonoko into moving out the way. Thanks to her unusual behavior at the sight of danger, Gin realizes that Sonoko isn't Haibara. Conan uses the hatch to escape, and Ran opens the door to the 45th floor. As a fire approaches he quickly leads them to the sky bridge. Gin and Vodka trap Haibara believing she is with one of the men. When she doesn't show they decide to blow the sky bridges so she has no way of escaping. As The Detective Boys head out to the Sky Bridge on the 60th floor Vodka blows it off and it collides with the Sky Bridge on the 45th floor, trapping Conan and Ran as well. Smoke penetrates the door nearby and they start to feel it's effects. Ran opens up a hatch where a fire hose is kept, ties it around Conan and herself, jumps down and uses the force to break the glass just as the hose burned from the consuming fire. As they reach the police on the parking lot it is just then that Conan realizes that the Detective Boys are stuck on the 60th floor. Megure immediately calls for a helicopter. Conan takes the skateboard from the car and takes the B-tower elevator to the 60th floor, and uses it to jump across the sky bridge to lead the Detective Boys to the roof. On the 75 floor he splits up with the group and decides to head for the killer's location. In order to murder Tokiwa, the killer gave a pearl necklace as present to her. He requested she wear the necklace to compliment the painting he donated. The killer is revealed to be Hosui Kisaragi. He gave Tokiwa a necklace that was easily removable. While backstage he hooked a wire from the top of his painting of Mt. Fuji along the top of the curtain to his identical necklace. While waiting to be presented he undid her necklace and pretended to pick it up. He put his identical one around her neck and all he had to do was wait. He placed the sake cup on the stage to make sure it was seen as the serial killer's doing. His only alibi was that Hara was already dead when Kisaragi got there which explains the fragments of the sake cup which had no blood on it. Oki's murder was also strange. Kisaragi gave him a painting to hang on his closet, unaware of his true intention, which explains the unusual blood stains on the closet's door. Kisaragi of course denies the possibility and demands for proof. Conan told him of his canes sound before and after the show. That explains where he put the original necklace. The motive he explains is the towers presence. For the past 10 years, he climbed a small hill just outside of Nishitamashi for his paintings. When his age started catching up, he built a house on the hill and decided to devote his remaining years painting Mt. Fuji. From that place he had the best view point, but the tower split Fuji in twain. This is the broken sake cups meaning. Although Tokiwa's case had a cup it wasn't broken. This was due to the cup already establishing that a serial killer is responsible. As Kisaragi agreed to his fate he took a bottle of poison from his pocket and as he was about to drink it, Conan used his watch to tranquilize him. Conan explained to Haibara that when he arrived in Asahino Station, he noticed the towers splitting Fuji in two, along with Kisaragi's unusual curtains. He also explains Hara's killer. He was holding a silver knife in his hand not to protect himself but to leave a message. Silver meaning GIN in Japanese. Gin likely believed the knife was picked up for self-defense. He deduced that Hara accessed secret data from the Black Organizations computers, which explains his computers erased data. As Conan heads upstairs Haibara sits down and at the counter sees a glowing red light behind the alcohol reasoning it's a bomb. When Conan heads to the roof Vodka activates a bomb there to ensure every ones death. When they arrive downstairs, Haibara shows Conan that there's a bomb under every table. As they look outside the window Conan sees the closed dome on B-Tower and believes the car can go across the building. Haibara denies that as the distance between the building is 50 meters, and would require at least 60 meters to go over. With the height calculated it will take 2 seconds to make impact, and 108 km/h. Although Conan agrees he wants to use the explosion as an accelerator. Conan realizes that this plan requires precise timing, but his watch died, so they prepare Ayumi to count 30 seconds, as they go. Haibara decides to count to 30 to remain precise. He call Megure and request the roof be opened. They load Kisaragi who's still unconconscious into the car (a Ford Mustang convertible) and start the countdown from one minute. But as the 30 second time approaches Haibara remains in the chair, so Genta takes her with 5 seconds left and goes into the Ford Mustang convertible. The bomb goes off and as they fly through the air Haibara almost drops from the car, but Mitsuhiko saves her. Adding that to the calculation he realizes that the glass formation inside the dome will kill Haibara, so he takes the biker helmet from Ayumi and uses the power shoes to break them just enough so that she'll get by. When they land, Vodka gets the news that five kids and an old man escape with the car, and finally think that Haibara isn't there. Gin said it's okay as their objective is complete. Destroying the main computer room in the towers was their intention. Back in the dome, Ayumi explains that when she's close to Conan she counted her heartbeat as a second. After they arrest Kisaragi, Kogoro realizes his prize car is destroyed.

At the beginning of the movie, Ran has a flashback of Shinichi taking Ran to the fountain at Tropical Land. The movie quickly transitions to Conan calling Ran in a phone booth. After Ran asks Conan if he could come back to Tropical Land (thinking he is Shinichi), the Detective Boys cross his path, making a remark like, "It's not fun if he (Conan) isn't there", Conan quickly hangs up. It is shown that the Detective Boys came up with a new riddle that they are confident that Conan cannot solve. However, Conan quickly solves the riddle. When Genta tries to cross the light, a policeman stops him, saying blinking green is the same as a red light. Conan and the rest wait for the next green light, but right when they are about to finish crossing, a mysterious man with an umbrella shoots the policeman in the booth. The man runs, and Conan gives chase, but loses him. When Conan asks the victim if he knew who shot him, the man grabs for his notebook, and fades away. The Detective Boys are taken to a police conference because they were witnesses to tell them the details of the man. However, the conference goes nowhere as Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta disagree on how the culprit looked. Ayumi claims the culprit was a middle aged man, Mitsuhiko claims the culprit was a young man with a black umbrella, and Genta says the culprit was a beautiful woman with a green umbrella. Conan later says that the culprit's raincoat and umbrella were both a shade of gray, and remembers the umbrella was in his/her right hand, showing that the culprit was left-handed. Later, a woman finds another police officer, Yoichiro Shiba, murdered in a parking lot, who was holding his police notebook in his right hand. The police, because of the similar conditions, are treating this as a serial killing. When the following morning Kogoro tries to ask Inspector Megure for more details, Megure hangs up, saying that he is busy. Kogoro notes that Inspector Megure is acting strange. Megure is later shown talking to Inspector Shiratori, saying that the information between the two cases must remain between them. Shiratori's younger sister later has a party to bless her marriage. When Kogoro sees Megure again, he tries to get info, but the latter remains shut up. Conan realizes that Megure may know something that is kept confidential. Kogoro and Conan later try to blackmail Detective Takagi using the info that Takagi likes Detective Sato. Takagi tells Kogoro and Conan that the second victim held his notebook during his dying moments. However, Shiratori leads Takagi away, saying to Kogoro that this is as far along as he knows, and says, "Need not to know." Conan then deducts the culprit may have been part of the police. Sonoko and Ran are shown asking Eri how she proposed to Kogoro. Sato later goes to the bathroom, and Ran follows her. After that, an explosion occurs, knocking out the lights. The culprit appears and Sato shields Ran from the bullets. The flashlight shows the culprit's face. Sato is shown unconscious, and Ran faints when she sees her blood-streaked hands, believing that Sato's injuries were the fault of her. When Kogoro asks Megure for Sato's condition, Megure says a bullet stopped close to her heart, leaving a 50/50 chance of her survival. Sonoko later rushes into the room, saying Ran has regained consciousness, but is acting weird. It is shown that Ran was struck with amnesia, and lost her memory of everybody she knew, including the memories of the current day. However, her brain is still functioning properly. After this incident, Megure decides to leak the information about this case. Megure starts by telling Kogoro of a surgeon named Tamotsu Jinno that was murdered. The leader in the investigation squad was Chief Inspector Nobukatsu Tomonari: his subordinates were Narasawa, Shiba, and Sato. During the case, Tomonari suffers from a heart attack, but insists that no one worry, and to continue the stake out. Sato follows Tomonari, but he dies from a heart attack. When the remaining two see the targets, they notice that one of them is the Chief superintendent's son, Toshiya. Back then, the case was abruptly concluded as a suicide. The case reopened when the three subordinates were killed, with the exception of Sato, who was critically injured. While Kogoro and Conan are looking over Ran, Conan comes to the conclusion that Ran may have witnessed the culprit's face, and mentions that Ran may be targeted. Ran is later discharged from the hospital. When Ran tries to get out of the car, she seems to cower in fear because of a puddle. Kogoro reintroduces Ran to the house, but Ran seems to notice the picture of Shinichi. Kogoro, Conan, and Eri later try to regain Ran's memory. The next day, the Detective Boys follow Ran around as guards. Haibara remarks that it may be better if Ran's memory wouldn't return. Ran seems to show a strange feeling when she sees Shinichi's picture. That night, Ran asks Conan about Shinichi. The following day, Ran, Eri, and Conan are waiting at the subway station to go shopping. The culprit suddenly strikes and pushes Ran of onto the rails. Conan barely manages to save her life. The doctor mentions that Ran may be scared to further regain her memory. Conan later investigates the people related to Jinno, and finally realizes the culprit. Ran is later taken to Tropical Land to help regain her memory. Ran has a flashback of Shinichi pressing the cola against her cheek. Takagi later goes to the bathroom, and a mascot character of Tropical Land suddenly walks towards Ran. At the moment, Detective Boys chase the person and take him down. Kogoro removed the mascot head and it is Makoto Tomonari. Kogoro also found the knife from his chest pocket. Tomonari was about to tell that he's not the murderer but it's too late. Takagi arrested him. The Detective Boys were celebrating for victory. Kogoro told Ran that he's going to the police station for questioning and also told her to stay at the Tropical Land until she regains her memory. Kogoro thanks the Detective Boys for saving his daughter, and they felt great about it. At the police station, the police are questioning Tomonari. He reveals that he wasn't approaching to Ran. He wanted to talk to Kogoro for his help. He is innocent and the reason why he had the knife in his chest pocket is for his protection. That means the culprit is still out there. Kogoro is now worried about Ran. In Tropical Land, the culprit later attacks Ran but Professor Agasa protected Ran and got shot. Conan, who did not come, hurries and rushes to her aid. Conan quickly arrives at Tropical Land, and the culprit gives chase. When the culprit later pins them down to a volcano, Conan reveals his deduction, and also reveals the culprit was the psychiatrist, Kyosuke Kazato, who killed Jinno as revenge for having injured his hands to ruin his promising career, then kept killing to cover his leads, which is why he wants Ran dead, as she managed to witness his last murder AND see his face clearly despite his efforts. Conan and Ran then later escape down an escape hole. They run to a lava lake, where Ran asks Conan why is he protecting her. Conan replies that he loves Ran, more than anything in the world. Conan later takes Ran to the fountain, the same place where Shinichi took Ran a long time ago, and Kazato finds them and starts shooting at Conan. Ran then finally breaks free of her amnesia upon seeing Conan in danger and recalling how Sato was shot to protect her. She loudly remarks on all of this and easily disables Kazato, turning him to the police. News later comes that Sato survived the surgery, and will be making a full recovery. Odagiri asks Conan who he is and Conan replies he is just a little kid. Dr. Kazato had a great and promising life as a surgeon until Dr. Jinno purposely cut his left wrist during an operation. Dr. Kazato being left handed quit being a surgeon because of his pride and switched to being a psychiatrist. He then attempted to be a right handed person. He then met up with Jinno some time later and was invited inside his house. Dr. Kazato got drunk and asked if the incident was an accident. Dr. Jinno then smugly confessed. Dr. Kazato took advantage of the recent law suit against Dr. Jinno and killed him knowing it would be ruled as a suicide. Years later the case was reopened and Dr. Kazato killed all the people on the case. However Ran witnessed one of the murders and saw him. She had then gotten amnesia as an effect of blaming herself for the murder. Dr. Kazato then was assigned to take care of Ran. He began to target her. Conan realized this and saved her from getting run over by a train. Following Dr. Kazato's arrest, Chief Superintendent Odagiri orders his son to be taken into custody for being an accomplice to Tamotsu in smuggling and selling the drug from the hospital that Tamotsu worked. Ran tells Conan the line her dad told her mom he said to tell her that he loved her, leaving Conan (Shinichi) saying that he can't believe he used the same pick-up line as that stupid old man (Kogoro).

Ayumi met Kaido Kido in the balcony inside her home and she showed that off. Mitsuhiko and Genta praise Kaido Kido as Heisei Lupin. Sherry ask Conan, what would our Heisei Sherlock Holmes tackle this Heisei Lupin...Conan kick soccer said that he would arrest Kido. Kaido Kido committed 134 crimes, 15 outside Japan. But finally Conan and Heiji stared Kido's mail and found that 12th letter means Kido's letter 12th word, "Heh" means 19:20. Heiji dropped from bike. Kido's left eyes got attacked and he fell. Conan grab his Pigeon and bring it home to cure...Kido died? The Russian girl said her great grandpa and great grandma spoke a strange code, as if "Baroshi had bought meat or not". Russian Girl said she went to France to make candies and found out that Seiran Hoshi was born 2 days after, both born same year same month. Conan spoke to both females that he born between then. Rachel heard that date and felt Conan is Shinichi and began to stalk Conan. The female, Seiran Hoshi (27) was Russian Evil Monk Rasputin's offspring. She came to steal the green egg (memory egg) from Suzuki Zaibatsu. Kido recovered and disguised into Shiratori to help Conan to avoid Rachel to find Conan is Shinichi. Conan ask Agasa to find people who just shot others' left eyes, Agasa found an international Fugitive, SCORPION, wanted by 27 countries, age and gender unknown. All helpless Victims all got left eyes shot. Conan later checked that, Scorpion shot people left eyes because Rasputin got his left eyes shot when his corpse was found near sea when Rasputin died. She did that to revenge for her ancestor Rasputin. Inui and Mori spoke something bad on Rasputin and Seiran killed Inui but Conan rescued Mori and Rachel. Conan find that the girl's strange word means this gate's Password. Seiran was the Scorpion who shot people's left eyes. Seiran closed that special gate but Conan was already inside waiting for Seiran. He said that Seiran name (Pu-Su Chin-Ran) can gain RASPUTIN when reordered and guess she was Rasputin's offspring. Seiran was finally controlled by Conan and Mori, "Slim legs Seran was SCORPION. OH NO! Jesus Christ!" Conan return the egg to the girl and they returned home. Rachel thanked Conan for rescue her but she said she wish to know if Conan is her Shinichi or not. Before Conan reveals himself, Kaido Kido disguised as Shinichi to rescue Conan. Because Conan rescue his pet Pigeon. Plus he knew Conan fear Rachel know he is Shinichi Kudo. Conan said Kido must knew about the girl's great grandpa so use title of LAST WIZARD OF CENTURY to title himself. Ending Credit, Rachel blame Conan why not keep Shinichi (Kido), and show to Conan that she would beat Shinichi hard if he came again. Conan "If so,...I would not come sooner."

The movie opens with a murder at Kurokawa Household. Kogoro deduced from the victim's dying message, JUN, that it points to Mina Kurokawa. This is because June is also the dry month (Minazuki) and she was born in June, which earns a scold from Mina herself. Conan then puts Kogoro to sleep and begins his own deduction. While sorting mail at Professor Agasa's house, Conan finds a strange letter (an invitation to a tea party) which is addressed to Shinichi Kudo. The letter was sent from a man named Teiji Moriya who is a famous architect. Conan calls Ran Mouri using his Voice-Changing Bowtie to mimic Shinichi's voice and tells her that he can't go to the tea party and asks if she would go in his place. He tells her to bring her dad, Kogoro Mouri, and "that kid" (referring to Conan). Ran says she will do it but only if he goes to a movie with her on Saturday. Conan tries to make her change the date, but she is determined that it has to be on May 3rd. She then asks him what his favorite color is: red or blue. He says that it's red. Conan leaves the pay phone and, while walking home, tries to figure out why Ran wants the date to be on May 3rd. While on the way home he meets Inspector Megure who introduces him to Ninzaburo Shiratori. While eating dinner with Ran and Kogoro, Ran tells Conan that she's taking Shinichi to the movies on May 3rd and when it hits midnight she will give her gift to him (which is a red polo shirt). Conan then realizes that May 4th is his birthday. Kogoro is pondering Moriya's quiz. Conan tricks Kogoro into going to the tea party as Kogoro doesn't want to go in the first place. They meet Teiji Moriya and tell him that Shinichi couldn't make it but that Kogoro is another famous detective. Moriya gives everyone a quiz and asks them to solve it. Conan is the first to solve it, so he gets to go to see Moriya's gallery with Ran. While observing the pictures, Ran tells Moriya that she is going to the movies with Shinichi and is going to be watching it in one of the buildings he designed. The next day, Ran goes out to get some food while Conan goes to Agasa's house, trying to think of what to do for his movie "date" with Ran. A news station on T.V. reports that someone stole a large quantity of octogen, which is the main component for plastic explosives. Right after the report, Professor Agasa receives a phone call asking for Shinichi. The caller, who is using a voice changing device, tells Shinichi that he is the one who stole the octagon and tells him to give him his mobile phone number. Conan tells him his number and the man instructs him to go to Greenbelt Park or else the kids will die. Conan uses his skateboard and rushes to Greenbelt Park where he finds Genta Kojima, Ayumi Yoshida, and Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya playing with a remote controlled plane. Mitsuhiko tells Conan that a man with a mustache and a beard gave it to them. Conan notices that there is a bomb on the plane, so he takes the controller away from Mitsuhiko but he refuses to give it to Conan since it's Genta's turn. Conan tells them that there is a bomb on it and they drop it and the antenna breaks. The plane begins flying uncontrollably, so Conan uses his Power-Enhancing Kick Shoes and kicks the controller into the plane, blowing it up. Conan then realizes that this isn't a prank because those were plastic explosives. He then gets another call telling him about another bomb. After Conan finds the second bomb, he only just manages to bring it to a deserted place before it blows up, sending Conan flying into a tree. He wakes up in the hospital. They get another notice that there are more bombs planted somewhere on the train, along with the hint (X the XX). Trying to find possible suspects they discuss Shinichi's most attention-grabbing case. Megure reflects on a case that Shinichi solved in the past. Shinichi is called to explain this accident by Megure. The evidence does not indicate that Kohei was the driver of the car. It points to Mayor Okamoto as the actual driver. Conan is able to figure out that the bombs are Between the Rail Tracks (X the XX) based on the bomber's 2 warnings, namely not to slow down below 60km/h and that the bombs would go off once the sun set. Conan explains that the bombs use sunlight to reset the time and consequently has the police navigate the trains out of the suspected route. All the bombs are then safely recovered. Later that day, Conan, Megure, Shiratori, and Kogoro go to Moriya's house. Conan figures out that the famous architect Teiji Moriya has been the bomber all along. He was driven to this due to his obsession with symmetry. His plan was to blow up his older, less symmetrical buildings and replace them with symmetrical structures (all of the bomb targets were either at or near buildings he designed). His hatred for Shinichi is due to the fact that because of him, Mayor Okamoto(who supported his "Perfect Nishita Town") failed to become Nishita Town's governor, and his building plan was stopped. With his crimes exposed, Moriya attempts to detonate the bombs inside his house, but is stopped when Conan reveals that he removed the batteries earlier when he planted some fake evidence (Moriya's disguise outfits) to lure him into spilling the beans. However, Moriya taunts the group that he has one more place that he wants to destroy. Several bombs are revealed to be in the mall where Ran is. They explode and many civilians get trapped in the building. Conan (who enters the building after the first explosion) contacts Ran (using his tie to mimic his Shinichi voice) and tells her that she must find and disarm the last and largest bomb. Ran finds the box with the bomb. Conan, who is now separated from Ran by a damaged door, guides her through cutting various wires using plans left by Moriya. Ran is down to 2 wires, a red one and a blue one. The plans do not include any instructions regarding these two wires. If the wrong one is cut, it would result in the bomb detonating. Conan loses hope, since this means that there's almost no way to keep the bomb from exploding, and tells Ran to do as she likes, since they are going to die together at this rate. Conan is then found by rescue workers and taken out of the building while realizing then the red wire is booby-trapped. However, Ran can no longer hear Conan's instructions, so he believes her to be in trouble. To his surprise, Ran cuts the blue wire and saves everyone. Conan asks Ran why she didn't cut the red wire (her lucky color). She replies that she didn't cut because she didn't want to sever the red string of fate between her and Shinichi. The movie ends with Conan remarking that there is no "red string", and mentions that it's because "it's no use... as long as I'm Conan".
