Ekwalla is a young fisherman who dreams of joining the Besua wrestling camp of Mboa Matanda where the beloved champion of the whole country, Maloka, his idol, is found. In Mboa Matanda, the wrestling tradition is passed from father to son. Unfortunately he is quite frail and no son of a wrestler. Dedicated, he goes to the camp as a sweeper. From his position, he can watch the wrestlers practice. Over time, he becomes friends with Kwedi, a former wrestling champion, who decides to take him under his wing and train him secretly. A few years later, Kwedi presents him as his son so that he can take part in the Wrestling Championship. The young unknown (Ekwalla) surprises everyone by his abilities and is gradually making a name for himself especially with his lifelong idol: Maloka. Once he becomes part of his circle, Ekwalla discovers that Maloka uses his influence to overthrow the Caiman King, ruler of Mboa Matanda. Ekwalla somehow tries to warn Kwedi. The trainer does not believe a word. The young man goes to the Cayman King's palace but is blocked at the entrance by the guard. Sure of his power and influence, Maloka brings about an encounter with the Caiman King. During this meeting, Maloka finally reveals his intentions to the King. To make a fool of the Caiman King, the wrestler suggests a game. He leaves it to the King to choose wrestlers to face him. In case he wins, Maloka becomes King; and if not, he should give up this idea. In no time the King starts a wrestler recruiting operation to fight Maloka. No wrestler dares face the fearsome opponent. Against all odds Ekwalla introduces himself to the King and offers himself as the only wrestler who takes up the challenge. The future of all Mboa Matanda now rests in the hands of the young Ekwalla. In order to inspire him, the Caiman King and the elders put him through the water trial, by which he will receive the blessing of the ancestors of Mboa Matanda. Ekwalla and Maloka will fight a merciless fight. After a fierce fight and thanks to the power of the ancestors, Ekwalla manages to gain the upper hand. Vanquished, Maloka and his men are expelled from Mboa Matanda.

Los Angeles, 1969. As the final chapter of Hollywood`s golden age draws to a close, fading TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from Quentin Tarantino features an ensemble cast and multiple storylines, and is a glowing tribute to the memories of a bygone era.

In Lowell, Massachusetts, widow Claire Pierce struggles to keep her family together during their first Christmas without Doug, her late husband and a firefighter who died in the line of duty. Their teenage son, Teddy, has become disillusioned with the holiday, while their younger daughter, Kate, still believes in Santa Claus and tries to keep the Christmas spirit alive. On Christmas Eve, Claire is called into work, leaving Teddy in charge of Kate. As Kate watches old family Christmas videos, she notices a mysterious arm reaching out of the fireplace, which she believes belongs to Santa. She convinces Teddy to help her prove it, promising to delete a video she secretly recorded of him stealing a car earlier that day. Together, they set up a tripwire and hidden camera before falling asleep in the living room. Kate wakes up and sees Santa in the house. She and Teddy follow him onto his sleigh, wanting to get a closer look. However, their presence startles Santa and his reindeer, causing him to lose control of the sleigh. It telephotos and crashes in Chicago, Illinois. After recovering from the crash, Santa introduces himself to the children and explains that they must recover his lost reindeer, his magic hat, and his bag of presents to save Christmas. Without them, the Christmas spirit will continue to decline. Kate and Teddy agree to help, hoping to avoid ending up on Santa's naughty list. The trio first seeks help at a bar, but the bartender refuses to assist. They take a stolen Dodge Challenger parked outside and use it to track down the reindeer. While locating the reindeer, they encounter police officers pursuing the stolen car. Kate follows the reindeer while Santa and Teddy lead the police on a wild car chase, which ends with Santa being arrested. Teddy reunites with Kate, and they recover Santa's magical bag of presents. When Kate opens the bag, she is transported to the North Pole, where she meets Santa's elves. The elves recognize her as a "true believer" and agree to help repair the sleigh and provide a spare magic hat for Santa. Meanwhile, a gang of thugs captures Teddy and the bag. Kate and the elves come to his rescue, retrieving the bag and escaping the hideout. Back at the police station, Santa tries to convince Officer Poveda of his identity, revealing intimate details about the officer's wish to reconcile with his ex-wife, Lisa. Although Poveda initially refuses to believe him, he begins to reconsider after noticing an unusual number of arrests on Christmas Eve-something Santa had warned would happen as Christmas spirit declined. Santa inspires the inmates to perform a lively rendition of "Santa Claus Is Back in Town," which lifts the spirits of everyone except Poveda. Ultimately, a call from Lisa inviting Poveda to coffee sways him, and he agrees to release Santa. With the sleigh repaired and only one hour left to deliver presents, Santa enlists Kate and Teddy to help. Kate tosses presents to Santa, while Teddy drives the sleigh. Together, they successfully deliver all the gifts just before sunrise, saving Christmas. Santa drops the kids off at home just before Claire returns. When they ask if they'll ever see him again, Santa jokes that he hopes not but hints he might if they're needed. As a parting gift, Santa gives Teddy his hat, revealing that he never actually needed it to perform his duties. When Claire arrives home, she finds the living room decorated just as Doug used to do it. The children open their presents: Kate receives the skateboard she wished for, and Teddy gets a magic ornament. When Teddy hangs it on the tree, he sees a reflection of his father, who expresses pride in him. Back at the North Pole, Santa reunites with Mrs. Claus. She asks what movie they'll watch that evening, and Santa holds up Kate's video of their adventure, smiling knowingly.

Married couple Jeff and Amy Taylor (Kurt Russell and Kathleen Quinlan) are driving across the country from Boston to California for a vacation. While driving through somewhere in rural New Mexico, they almost collide with another truck on the road. Jeff is later confronted by its driver, a hostile redneck cowboy named Earl (M.C. Gainey), at a gas station. Though the near-collision was the other driver's fault, he still insults Jeff for being ignorant. Jeff waits until Amy comes back and they leave. A short time later, their car breaks down in the middle of the desert. Amy accepts a ride with a friendly passing trucker named "Red" Barr (J.T. Walsh) to a small diner about five miles down the road to call for help, while Jeff stays with the car. Jeff discovers disconnected wires to be the problem with the car and drives to the diner, but no one there has seen his wife. While driving to the nearest police station, Jeff spots Barr's truck and runs him off the road. The trucker swears that he has never seen Jeff or his wife before. Jeff hails a passing sheriff, but a brief search of Barr's truck is fruitless for Amy is nowhere to be found. Jeff tries to tell the sheriff (Rex Linn) that the trucker is lying about not remembering him or Amy, but the sheriff tells Jeff that he should drive to his station about 20 miles down the road and file a missing person's report. Jeff drives to a local police station in the town of Brackett where he talks with the deputy (Kim Robillard), about his wife's disappearance. The Deputy advises Jeff to go back to the diner and wait for his wife. Jeff does so, but he cannot get any cooperation or help from the diner owner or any of the patrons. When Jeff insists on looking at the receipts in the last few hours, the diner owner threatens him with a rifle, forcing Jeff to leave. Outside the diner, Jeff is asking all persons coming and leaving if they have seen his wife, which none of them respond that they have. Jeff ends up meeting Billy (Jack Noseworthy), a local simpleton and mechanic, who says that he saw his wife arrive with Red and leave in another truck driven by some men. Billy then tells Jeff where they have taken her, but tells him not to go the police because they may be involved. Following the directions that Billy gave him, Jeff drives down a rural back road, running into a gate at a construction site. While he tries to figure out his next move, he's ambushed by Earl. After a short chase, Jeff escapes by driving his Jeep into a river. He exits the sinking car and floats down the river, later circling back around to where his attackers are salvaging it from the water. He is found and knocked out by Billy. Jeff awakes in the trunk of a car. Billy (who drops his simpleton routine) opens it and asks how much money Jeff has, which is then demanded in exchange for his wife, who is being held hostage. The two rednecks, Billy and Earl, remove Jeff from the trunk and bring him to their ringleader standing nearby... who happens to be Red Barr. Barr demands that Jeff withdraw a large sum of cash, $90,000, from a local bank in the nearby small town of Brackett, in exchange for Amy. Barr gravely warns Jeff that they'll be watching him closely. If Jeff doesn't comply fully or notifies the police, Barr promises to kill and mutilate Amy. Jeff heads into the local bank to withdraw the money. Knowing he has only a fraction of the assumed amount (a little more then $5,000), Jeff attempts to alert the bank manager to his plight. However, paranoid that Red's group is keeping an eye on him when a stranger enters the bank and begins watching him, Jeff abandons the idea. After thinking about sneaking out a back window in the men's room, Jeff instead returns to the lobby of the bank. While the bank manager is busy with the transaction, Jeff steals marked money ribbons and a letter opener knife from the manager's desk. He uses the money ribbons to pack stacks of $1 bills between two $100 bills. After leaving the bank with the money, Jeff is contacted by Barr from a payphone to leave the town by walking, where he is picked up by Earl. While gloating about how easy Jeff and his wife were to trick and implying that they intend to kill them anyway, Earl discovers that Jeff has stacked the bundles, using the money ribbons he took from the bank manager's desk. Jeff then stabs Earl with the letter opener that he stole and used to cut through the duct tape he was bound with, then forcing him from the driver's seat and duct taping his hands to his legs and his neck to the head rest. Jeff tortures Earl for a few minutes, using the truck's brakes to choke him into revealing where they took Amy. Just then, the same sheriff from the beginning of the film, seeing the truck being driven erratically, pursues and attempts to arrest both Earl and Jeff. Jeff surrenders when ordered and throws away Earl's pistol. Earl frees himself and shoots the sheriff with a pistol concealed in his boot. Just as Earl is about to shoot Jeff, the wounded sheriff shoots and kills Earl. Jeff uses the Sheriff's radio to call for an ambulance and leaves behind the wounded sheriff to find his wife. Although initially unsuccessful at finding Billy or his wife at the truck stop Earl mentioned, Jeff spots Red Barr, who is preoccupied with a telephone call to an accomplice. Seeing two State Troopers searching for a suspect in the shooting of the sheriff, Jeff manages to jump onto Barr's moving truck at it pulls out of the truck stop. Starting in the spare tire rack on the trailer, he inches his way to the tractor and is able to hide in the spoiler on top of the cab. After driving all night, Red Barr arrives at his family's farm where he greets his wife and teenage son, whom they address as 'Warren'. Jeff hides in their barn and watches as Red, Billy, and a fourth accomplice, a tow truck driver named Al, take Amy from a compartment underneath a moving van that they've also stashed Jeff's Jeep in. They lock her in a freezer in the basement under the barn and return to the house. Jeff also discovers that Red and his accomplices have apparently been preying upon unsuspecting travelers and truckers for some time now by stealing their money, luggage and cargo and killing them afterward. Unsuccessful at prying the lock open on the trap door, Jeff finds a pistol in the moving van and enters the house and demands the basement keys from Red. Red's teenage son, Deke, appears with a rifle and threatens Jeff, but accidentally shoots Al in the arm after Jeff knocks the gun from his hands. However, Billy flees by jumping out a window while Jeff forces Red to return to the barn. Red's wife, Arlene, opens the barn basement, and frees Amy from the freezer, surprised at seeing the hidden bunker and Amy locked in the freezer. Jeff locks everyone in the basement, then he and Amy find a pickup truck at a nearby abandoned trailer home. They manage to drive off just as Billy manages to free everyone, just escaping as the freed Red drives through the trailer home with his tractor-trailer. As dawn begins to break, a climatic and harrowing car chase begins as Billy, Al, and Red pursue Jeff and Amy on the highway; the former in cars and the latter in his truck. During the pursuit, Billy is killed when his car explodes after Jeff forces his car off the road. The trailer from Red's truck detaches, causing Al to violently crash into it, apparently killing him also. Undeterred, Red attempts to force Jeff and Amy's vehicle off a bridge, trapping Amy's leg underneath the dashboard. Jeff rushes out of the vehicle and into Red's big rig, where a struggle over the steering wheel forces Red's truck over the edge, leaving it dangling on a steel bridge support. Jeff fights Red on the suspended big rig. While Jeff hangs from the truck, Red tries to whip him off with a chain but Jeff grabs it and Red looses his balance falls off the truck and to the rocks below. Jeff frees Amy and the two look down at the seemingly-dead Red, who then starts to move. Amy (clearly shaken and teeming with rage from her captivity) then pulls the automatic shiftier on their pickup truck which has been holding Red's truck in place and it falls and crushes him. Relieved that their nightmare is over, the final shot shows Jeff and Amy sitting in the middle of the bridge, recovering from the ordeal.

In Trieste, Italy, Lieutenant Colonel Austin Travis (Steven Seagal) leads an unsuccessful U.S Special Forces raid on a Chechen mafia safe house to recover a stolen Soviet nerve agent called DZ-5 (also known as VX Gas). During the raid one of his men is killed, and the nerve agent is nowhere to be found, leaving the mission a bust. Three months later, Dr. David Grant (Kurt Russell), a U.S. Army intelligence expert, is informed that terrorist leader El Sayed Jaffa was abducted from his daughter's wedding by an unknown entity and anonymously delivered to U.S authorities. Meanwhile, a suicide bomber walks into a luxurious London, England restaurant and blows himself up after warning people to listen to the sound of Al Tha'r. That same day, Oceanic Airlines Flight 343, a Boeing 747-200, leaves Athens, Greece, bound for Washington, D.C., with over 400 passengers on board, including U.S. Senator Mavros (J.T Walsh), and a disguised Nagi Hassan (David Suchet), El Sayed Jaffa's deputy director. Soon after take-off Hassan and his men, having sneaked weapons on the flight, hijack the plane and sends a message under the name Al Tha'r demanding Jaffa's release. An armed deputy U.S Airline Marshal (Richard Riehle) who is on the plane but unable to prevent the hijack quickly conceals his badge and gun to avoid being identified and compromise the security of the passengers. Jean (Halle Berry), a flight attendant takes a huge risk by getting rid of the passengers manifest and lying to Hassan to conceal the Marshal's presence. Meanwhile, David Grant is called away from a tuxedo and gown party to a meeting at the Pentagon to plan an operation to retake the plane. While the secretary of defense and everyone else around the table, including Austin Travis who despises Grant and holds him responsible for the failed mission in Italy, agrees that they must plan for a ground strike on the terrorists as soon as the plane lands, Grant doubts Hassan's demands, suspecting he engineered Jaffa's capture himself, and intends to use the plane to detonate a bomb loaded with the DZ-5 nerve agent into U.S. airspace. Grant strongly advises the secretary not to let the plane reach U.S airspace, much less touch U.S soil. He also reveals that the name used by the terrorists, Al Tha'r, is an ancient Arabic form of the word "revenge". Not willing to destroy the plane and it's 400 passengers without proof that the plane is truly a threat to the United States, The Pentagon opt to send Travis's team on a mission to infiltrate Oceanic Airlines Flight 343 mid-air using the experimental airplane "Remora F117x" invented by DARPA engineer Dennis Cahill (Oliver Platt). Travis requests Grant's presence on the plane for live intel, somehow knowing that Grant is deathly afraid of flying. Grant and Cahill both agrees to join Travis's team to intercept the plane. The Remora intercepts and docks with the 747 in mid-air. The boarding is only partially successful though due to strong turbulence, causing the team's bomb specialist "Cappy" (Joe Morton) to fall and break his neck. Grant boards the plane to assist Cappy just as the 747 pulls up, over stressing the Remora's docking tunnel. Travis sacrifices himself by closing the 747's hatch before it decompresses, saving his team but killing him and destroying the Remora. On the plane, the surviving team members, "Rat"(John Leguizamo), "Cappy", Louie (B.D Wong), and Baker ( Whip Hubley), along with Grant and Cahill reassess their situation: Cappy is alive but immobilized, having fractured some vertebrae. They only have access to half their gear, no sleeping agent and, most importantly, no radio and no communication equipment, leaving the Pentagon completely unaware of their survival. With limited options, the team, now under Rat's command, use spy cameras and microphones to observe, locate and assess the terrorists while covertly searching the plane for the suspected DZ-5 bomb, with the aim of neutralizing it before storming the cabin. During his search for Hassan, Grant accidentally compromises himself to Jean, who keeps quiet about it despite Hassan's suspicions about her. The team finally locates the bomb and Grant is proven right when they find out the bomb has enough DZ-5 to take out half the Eastern seaboard on its own. Cappy analyzes the bomb and reveals it has a barometric detonator, meaning it will detonate upon landing, but assures his team he knows how to neutralize it. They call upon Cahill to assist Cappy, who is still immobilized, with the bomb while Grant and the others take positions all around the plane to hit it as soon as the bomb is neutralized. Cappy guides Cahill and successfully disarms the bomb. He advises his team that the bomb is secured, but just as they're about to attack, Cappy calls off the attack, having found that the bomb has a remote-controlled trigger and someone is testing it, meaning someone on the plane can still detonate the bomb at any moment. Cappy then succumbs to the pain meds he was given earlier and loses consciousness. Meanwhile Jaffa, released by U.S officials in an attempt to resolve the situation, calls Hassan from a private jet to tell him he is free and on his way to Algeria, and extends an offer from the U.S government to acquiesce to all of Hassan's demands in exchange for releasing the hostages. Hassan, while rejoicing in his leader's freedom, informs Jaffa that his mission is not finished as he intends to strike a sword deep into the infidels. Jaffa tries to reason with Hassan but he abruptly ends the call, forcing the Secretary of defense to order an air strike on the plane, having received no updates from Travis' team. Following the phone call, Hassan is confronted by his second in command who is challenging Hassan on his decision not to divert the plane back to Algeria now that their leader is free. Hassan reveals their real mission is to strike a deathblow to their enemies which his lieutenant disagrees with. Hassan assaults and kills his lieutenant and then orders the others back to their position. Grant, having overheard the whole exchange, realizes Hassan's men are unaware of the bomb and Hassan's true intentions. He also aptly deduces that the bomb's trigger-man is not Hassan or one of the armed terrorists, but a sleeping agent hiding amongst the passengers. Grant and the team decide to look for the passenger with cameras hooked to the main cabin while Cahill will attempt to figure out how to neutralize the remote detonator. Just as Cahill is about to execute his own theory and cut a wire, Cappy awakens to stop them and resumes working the bomb with Cahill while Grant rejoins the team to look for the secret trigger-man whom Grant is certain will be Jean-Paul Demou, one of Jaffa's men believed to have built the bomb. Grant uses a camera and having bypassed the plane's phone system to secretly communicate with Jean whom he trusts in assisting them with finding the trigger-man. While he's giving her instructions, she gets attacked and threatened by Hassan who points his gun at her but she's able to lie her way out of it. After catching her breath, she agrees to help Grant. She also takes a moment to covertly advise the Marshal about the presence of soldiers on the plane. While going around, tending to the passengers' needs, she spots a passenger with an electronic device that looks just like what Grant described to her so she silently communicates the seat number to Grant. Back in the cargo area, Cappy and Cahill seems to be making progress with the bomb when a random remote check from the trigger-man causes Cahill to panic and cut several wires he wasn't supposed to touch. The bomb not blowing up and seeming still fully functional make Cappy realize they are working on a decoy. The real bomb's computer is underneath the one they've been working on all along. Meanwhile, the U.S air strike has finally reached the plane and are attempting to divert it from its course by threatening to attack. Hassan refuses to divert and calls upon Senator Mavros who offered himself earlier to negotiate in an attempt to boost his political popularity for the upcoming elections. Mavros asks to speak with the President of the United States directly but is denied by the Secretary of defense. He is then killed by Hassan in a demonstration of his ruthlessness. The plane getting too close to the fail safe line, the Secretary of defense has no choice and orders the fighter jets to attack the plane. Luckily, Grant intercepted the exchange and is able to communicate with the fighter jets through Morse code from the tail lights, that they are on board, requesting an extra ten minutes to neutralize the bomb and retake the plane, despite already crossing into U.S. airspace. As soon as the Secretary overhears the team's mission code as part of the message, he agrees to give them ten minutes through a coded message of his own. Knowing they need to act now, the team gathers behind Grant to allow Cahill and Cappy five more minutes with the bomb and then attack no matter what. Out of desperation, Grant abandons his position and contacts Jean to use her help to enter the main cabin in an attempt to take out the suspected trigger-man by surprise, but he turns out to be an innocent passenger. Grant is then proven right once more by spotting Jean-Paul Demou, sitting on the plane. He shoots the remote away from him and engages him in an intense brawl. Hassan attempts to shoot Grant, but is himself shot by the federal air marshal. The commandos storm the cabin as a firefight ensues. Grant struggles to wrestle the remote detonator from Demou's grip while Baker and Rat gun-down several terrorists. Louie assists Grant by fatally shooting Demou and eliminating the remaining terrorists. Demou, however, manages to arm the bomb before dying, and stray bullets from a terrorist's weapon pierce a passenger window causing explosive decompression and killing three passengers. The bomb is disarmed just in time by Cappy and Cahill as the plane regains stable flight. Grant confronts Hassan and shows him that the bomb is neutralized. In a final act of desperation, a wounded Hassan sprays the cockpit with bullets, killing the pilots, before being shot and killed by Rat. With the pilots dead, over 400 lives on the line and a bomb on-board, aerophobic Grant, despite his limited flying experience and never having flown solo, assumes control of the plane and attempts to land it at the designated runway but misses the approach to Dulles International Airport, forcing him to go around. Knowing he's not good enough to turn the plane around and try another approach, Grant recognizes the area surrounding his training airfield, and decides to head there instead. The landing is sloppy and quite damaging as the airfield was never meant for a 747 but fortunately, none of the damages and impact triggers the bomb and Grant is finally able to safely land onto a sand berm at the runway's safety area, and the passengers are safely evacuated. Having finally exit the plane, Grant witnesses the bomb squad taking away the bomb and Cahill gives him his lucky straw that helped defused the bomb before departing in search of the biggest drink available. Grant then witnesses Cappy getting loaded unto an army ambulance along with the rest of the commando who stops to respectfully salute him before departing. He is then joined by Jean who asks him who he is. Just as he's about to answer, an FBI agent approaches him, addressing Grant by his official title of Doctor Grant and advises him he is being summoned by the Pentagon which causes Jean to leave but Grant calls her back and invites her to a coffee date, which she agrees as long as he is not flying. They both laugh and get into a car on their way to the Pentagon.
