In Jamaica, amid murder and deceit, a schooner skipper and a land developer search for the sunken ship containing proof regarding the identity of the true heirs of a legendary Jamaican estate. Promoter William Montague wants to buy the estate owned by the Daceys, Mrs. Dacey and her daughter Ena and son Todd, in order to build a resort hotel. When they turn him down, he produces a couple of distant relatives, Janice and Robert Clayton, and sets about to prove that the estate rightfully belongs to them. The theft of a jeweled treasure is within an adventurer's grasp when he is restrained by his love for a good woman. Now he must help her and the kid he was hired to rob escape as the Chinese Civil War nears Hong Kong. Roguish, Indiana Jones-like, fedora and leather jacket-wearing American adventurer and black marketeer Jeff Williams is hired to steal a priceless, jewel-encrusted, gold statue of Buddha, the only possession of a small recently-orphaned Chinese boy called Wei Lin, who arrived in Hong Kong with a group of refugees escaping the Chinese Civil War that Mao's Communists are winning. Jeff cold-heartedly does his job and ends up being stuck with the kid, who sees him as a surrogate father and refuses to let go of him. When Jeff meets Julie McQuade, a pretty schoolteacher and daughter of a missionary, his tough shell begins to break as he grows fond of both her and the kid and realizes that he must help them escape the city while there's still time. However, his non-sentimental employees double-cross him and he must use all his skills and wits to survive this adventure.

Adventurer tries to recover gold from sunken plane. 'Jumbo' Johnson hires Steve Singleton (and his boat, the "Seeker") to search for pearls on the coast of New Guinea. Johnson tricks Singleton, however, by supplying him with phony permits. Singleton loses his boat and is sentenced to jail. When released, Singleton teams up with boat-owners Daubrey and Sykes to find a downed plane and its cargo of gold bullion. While searching, they rescue one of the plane's passengers, Katherine Shelley, who's been captured by headhunters. Johnson now appears on the scene. Shelley guides him, Singleton, and the others to the underwater crash site. The gold is removed from the plane and now various schemes emerge as each man tries to gain control of it. —dinky-4 of Minneapolis

A Texas Ranger and a government agent team up to help Mexican patriot Juarez fend off European opposition. 1863. Texas Ranger Todd Croyden and Union spy Whitney Randolph cross into Mexico to investigate a growing struggle for power between the French-supported Maximilian and the native-born Benito Juarez. In Mexico they meet General Liguras, who is loyal to Juarez, and the beautiful Madeline -- daughter of or wife to the powerful and manipulative Basil Danzeeger. Croyden falls for Madeline but soon runs afoul of Danzeeger who condemns him to be pulled apart between two horses. —dinky-4 of Minneapolis

Charles Chinnough, aka Captain China, washed ashore off his ship during a storm, is later rescued, but is relieved of duty after his former first mate, Brendensen (who thought he was dead), and two aides testify falsely against him in a hearing concerning the loss of his ship. Seeking to clear his name, he books passage on a ship commanded by Brendensen.He and Brendensen both fall for a passenger, Kim Mitchell. Later, a raging storm at sea has the cowardly Brendensen turning the command of the ship over to Chinnough. This serves to help Chinnough clear his name.

Friends Bill Morley and Rosey Blake both spy debutante Penelope Craig at an American Red Cross blood drive and are attracted. Bill, a playboy flyer, pretends to be a doctor in order to meet Penny and get her address and phone number for his "little black book." That night, Bill and Rosey crash Penny's parents' anniversary party at the Craigs' home, and to get even, Penny exposes Bill's deception by introducing him to some old family friends: hypochondriac Mrs. Cartwright and physician Dr. Crane. Before he leaves her parents' home, however, Bill kisses Penny, and she immediately falls in love with him. Penny then follows Bill to a Burbank nightclub, which is near the Vega Aircraft factory where Bill and Rosey work on the assembly lines. Later, Penny and Bill go to the beach, and Bill tells her that she should not get involved with him, as he is not the domestic type and is merely waiting for his papers to join the Air Force. Not to be dissuaded, Penny gets a job at the aircraft factory, and when she is unable to find Bill in the giant plant, she performs a song at lunch to attract his attention. That night, while the Craigs are screening home movies, Bill comes over to their house and tells Penny that he has gotten his orders. They try to break up, but quickly discover that they have fallen in love and decide to spend what little time he has left in the United States together. Just before Bill is about to leave for overseas duty, however, Hannah Gordon, one of Penny's friends at the factory, learns that her flyer husband has been shot down over the Pacific. Penny then goes to her father Judson and asks him to use his influence to keep Bill at the aircraft factory. Judson refuses and tells Penny that it is her duty to support Bill's induction into the military. Penny then returns to the factory to learn that Bill has decided to end their relationship. Later, Bill tells Rosey that he ended his romance with Penny to spare her the pain he saw Hannah suffer. Rosey then goes to the Craig home and tries to give Penny a note, telling her that Bill really loves her, but Judson has ordered Binns, the family butler, not to allow either Bill or Rosey in the house. Penny receives the note, however, and races to the airport in time to say goodbye to Bill. When he tells her that he is still worried about her, Penny, paraphrasing Hannah, replies that "if he flies 'em, then she'll build 'em."
