Cheek <Aravis2713@aol.com> Widowed nurse Helen North moves to San Francisco with her eight children to work at a naval base. There, she meets Naval Officer Frank Beardsley, who is widowed too. They are immediately attracted to each other and go out on a date. Although they feel their attraction to each other could lead to a more permanent relationship, they decide to call it off when they learn that she has eight children, and he has ten. However, his colleague, Naval Officer Darrell Harrison, who also knows Helen, sees the attraction between them and does whatever he can to push them together. Despite the obstacles of such a large, combined family, and their respective children's dislike of the idea of having a new parent, Frank and Helen decide to get married. They end up having all eighteen children living under one roof with them. Together, the children have a "ours" and "theirs" mentality toward their new family unit. The only real bond that immediately emerges is between Helen's adolescent son, Phillip, who wants so much to be known as a "Beardsley", and Frank's oldest son, Mike, who is Phillip's protector in navigating through the trials and tribulations of the lives of sixteen other siblings. But things change even more in the household when Mike makes a decision about his future, Frank and Helen make a decision about the children, and when it looks as if there will be a new addition to the family, who will not have the burden of being known by any of the other children as one of "them". —Huggo

Susan and Lorenzo have been married for over five years and they are starting to drift apart. So into her life comes an angel which only she can see, to tell her that trouble is ahead if they don't work out their problems. Lorenzo is developing insecticide #383 at Finlay Vega Chemical Co. and plans to test it on a camping trip that he takes with Susan, but the trip becomes an obstacle course for him. —Tony Fontana <tony.fontana@spacebbs.com> Five years in, the bloom has come off the marriage of scientist Larry Vega and wealthy socialite Susan Vega née Bewell, because of their differences, that are heightened, and the problems in their marriage exacerbated, by her closest friends. Larry doesn't like Susan's friends because they're always trying to get her--and him by association--to live beyond what they can afford on his income. Their differences are further heightened when Larry, who owns and operates a chemical company with his friend BIll Finlay, plans to do field work for two years, going to the remotest parts of the globe to test a new insecticide he has developed and wants Susan to accompany him. Susan begins to see a vision of a man; initially she believes he's an intruder, but she comes to believe--and ultimately realize--that hie is her Guardian Angel. Beyond the seeming incredulity of such a story and thus the belief by others that she could be crazy, Susan does not want to divulge her vision, least of all to Larry, in the Guardian Angel's resemblance to her favorite actor, handsome James Mason. Indeed, the Guardian Angel has arrived in her psyche at this juncture to help her deal with her and Larry's crumbling marriage. But the Guardian Angel's resemblance to Mason could cause, rather than resolve, more complications in Susan and Larry's relationship. —Huggo

She and her fiance Humphrey get involved in a smuggling scheme and she becomes the prime suspect in first one and then a second murder. A serial killer in London is murdering young women he meets through the personal columns of newspapers. He announces each of his murders to the police by sending them a cryptic poem. After a dancer disappears, the police enlist an American friend of hers, Sandra Carpenter, to answer advertisements in the personal columns, and lure the killer.
