A talented musician, Sundaram, in need of money makes a deal with his lookalike Ranjith Kumar, a wealthy diamond businessman, who offers him money on the condition of swapping their identities.

Rajapart Rangadurai, an aspiring drama artist despite his poor financial condition and lack of support, toils hard to become a popular theatre artist. Although initially, his troupe enjoys great success, they soon face rejection by the modern audience. Rajapart tries his best to save the group from slipping into oblivion even as he battles his personal problems.

After the death of their father, a difference of opinion arises between the two brothers and soon they become arch rivals.
