The powerful crime-drama Nayagan tells the tragic story of Velu Naicker (Kamal Haasan), inspired by underworld don Varadarajan Mudaliar. Disillusioned after witnessing his father's murder by police, Velu rises as a feared yet respected underworld figure and a protector for Tamil immigrants in the Bombay slums. Though he brings his people justice and dignity, his violent path costs him his family, who reject the man he has become. Torn between duty and love, Velu's life becomes a reflection of power, sacrifice, and the ultimate realization that justice and love rarely coexist peacefully.
