A wedding guest, Pandey, is pleased with Ramji's cooking and offers him a job with his U.K.-based cousin, Vakil "Vicky" Chaubey, which Ramji reluctantly accepts. He readies himself to travel to London, gets all the relevant documents, attends a flight - where he does cause some hilarious chaos, and finally lands on U.K.'s soil. It is here he finds out that Vicky Chaubey is no more, his papers are all invalid, and he must find employment before he is deported from the country. He does find employment with Guru, his wife, and their handicapped son, who run a restaurant, who are pleased with him, and want him to stay, therefore they arrange his marriage of convenience with a young woman named Samira alias "Sammy". So from Ramji, his name is changed to Robert, from Lord Bajrang Bali he must now worship Lord Jesus Christ, wear tight underwear instead of "kacchas", he is then married in a formal church ceremony, and goes to live with Sammy in her house which she shares with her grandmother. It is then he finds out that the marriage is only temporary, at the most 3 months, in order so that Sammy can get married to Jay Kapoor, her lover; Not receiving any dowry from Ramji, Parvati has been turned out of the Mishra house and is living with her lover, Pappu; and the London Immigration Authorities are conducting an investigation that may well result in Ramji's being arrested, held, and then deported. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Ashok (Madhavan) and Julie (Sree Devi) have been friends ever since childhood and they don't share any love interest. Ashok falls in love with Nandini (Jyothika), a rich girl with whom he marries, and although Julie's closeness to Ashok initially irritates Nandini, she subsequently accepts it. Julie falls in love with a guy called Michael (Vineeth), a cricketer who's hoping for a place in the Indian criket team and Ashok happens to be his main opponent. When Ashok gets selected, Michael's father strikes a deal with Ashok that the marriage between his son and Julie will only take place if Ashok steps down and let Michael substitute him, to which Ashok agrees for friendship's sake. When Michael learns of this at the end, he restores the severed ties between himself and Ashok, and the movie ends upon a happy note.

A little girl is told by her parents that she is adopted. Determined to find her real mother, she begs to be taken to Sri Lanka, where her mother works with a militant group of activists. Dhileepan and Shyama are Tamil-speaking residents of Mankulam, Sri Lanka, who get married with the blessings of their respective families. After the marriage, Shyama confides that she would like to be a mother of eight children, but she is stunned when her husband tells her that he cannot father any children until there is peace between the mainstream and the Tamils in this country. Nevertheless, they do get intimate, which results in Shyama getting pregnant. Dhileepan goes into hiding because of his connections with the Tamil Tigers, while Shyama returns to her father's house. A storm threatens their village, and they are forced to flee to a Refugee Camp in Rameswaram, India. Alone, without any support, Shyama gives birth to a girl, leaves her, and returns to Sri Lanka to be with her husband. The child gets noticed by noted Tamil author Thiruchelvan, who lives with his sister, her husband, and their son and writes books under the pen-name of Indra, who is actually an attractive TV newswoman who lives next door. When he comes forward to adopt her, he is initially refused, as he must be married in order to adopt any child. He accordingly gets married to Indra, and they adopt the child and name her Amudha. Subsequently, they become parents of two sons, Vinayan and Akhilan. After Amudha completes her ninth year, she is told that she has been adopted, which compels her to start searching for her biological mother. Amudha initially runs aways to Rameswaram, but she is unable to locate her and continues to be distraught until Thiruchelvan promises to take her to Mankulam. They do come across a woman named Shyama, but she denies having any children, and it is then that they find out that there is another Mankulam in the north of Sri Lanka. They travel there, among almost war-like conditions, and it is here that Thiruchelvan and his guide, Dr. Herold Vikramsinghe, will be abducted by Tamil Tigers, who, in turn, will arrange for a meeting with Shyama. The movie, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, is a remake of Tamil movie, Minnale. It revolves around a guy who falls in love with a girl who is completely different in her financial status and upbringing. He poses to be an American boy she was suppose to marry and confesses his love for the girl. The story takes a turn when the girl is made aware of the reality and the guy makes the effort to win her heart back.

Adityan and Ganga, who do not wish to marry for their respective reasons, try every trick to stop the wedding. All fails, but the wedding is cancelled for another reason. Then, they meet in the city. The story revolves around an unhappy groom and bride forced into a wedding. The groom backs away because he is reluctant to give up his life of wine and women in the city while the bride is unwilling because she wants to pursue an Engineering degree. The two draw up a few plans to stop the wedding, but they fizzle out. Just when they begin to think that their getting together may not be too bad an idea after all, a real fight stops the wedding; how they reunite forms the crux of the plot. —Anonymous

What follows are the difficulties of marriage, the misunderstandings, discontentment and consequent fissures that develop in the relationship, causing friction.
