A devoted family man, Kartikeya has left behind his life as a fearless and unconventional cop. But when a dangerous criminal from his past resurfaces posing a fresh threat, he is forced to embrace his old ways of aggressive vigilantism.

Duvvada Jagannatham Sastry (Allu Arjun) is a small-town, Shaiva Brahmin Pujari boy who goes against all odds and helps others. Seeing this quality of his, a high-profile cop (Murali Sharma) asks him to work for the police in disguise. At the same time, Jagannatham falls in love with Pooja (Pooja Hegde), the daughter of a high profile minister (Posani Krishna Murali) partner of yet another crime lord Royyala Naidu (Rao Ramesh) who also operates in disguise. On the other hand, DJ decides to take on Royyala Naidu in his mission but does not know who he is in actual life. Rest of the story tells us how Duvvada Jagannadham alias DJ manages to finish Royyala Naidu.

Kerintha is a youthful entertainer about the journey of the characters of the movie. It is based on life experiences and how the characters in the film deal with it. It is a slice-of-life story with memorable characters.
