A single mother, Radha, struggles to make ends meet and raises her two kids amidst poverty and the blatant evils of the Indian society.

Anju Rai lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed dad in a palatial house. She is now of marriageable age, and her dad has arranged her marriage with Advocate Amarnath. Both Anju and Amarnath meet and fall in love with each other. Shortly before their formal engagement, Anju notices a change in Amarnath - as he appears to be drifting further from her. Then he decides to demolish his house and re-built it, and also refuses to go near any Mandir - either alone or in Anju's company. When part of the house collapses, he is injured, but recuperates quickly. It is then the town is set afire with rumors that Amarnath may have sexually molested a village belle named Sonia, who sells milk, lives a poor lifestyle with her widowed dad, cruel step-mother, and is to be married to the village goon, Shankar. A prosperous, well-respected lawyer, in love with and engaged to an educated, socially-conscious young woman, succumbs to a weak moment and rapes a poor local village milkmaid. A traumatized beautiful woman loses her memory in a train accident. Prakash and his beautiful sister live an impoverished lifestyle in a rented room in Bombay. They do not even have enough to eat and are three months behind in their rent. The neighborhood has put pressure on their landlord to evict them as they suspect his sister of being overly friendly with a homeless male who calls himself Laatsaheb. Things only get worse after Prakash is killed and his sister decides to re-locate by train. While traveling she finds her co-passenger is none other than Laatsaheb - who confesses that he loves her. Before she could respond, the train meets with an accident, he survives with minor injuries but she loses her memory, is hospitalized and presumed to have lost her mind also. She manages to escape and ends up with Imperial College's Professor Nath - who gets smitten by her beauty, calls her Kamini, assures her that she has always lived with him, and decides not to treat her medically - so that she can be his forever. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

After the passing away of his dad, Javed lives a poor lifestyle with his widowed mom in India. Since they cannot afford to live independently, they live with his mom's younger sister, Mrs. Haque, who lives a wealthy lifestyle with her husband and son, Sajjad. Mrs. Haque is very cruel toward her sister, compelling her to leave and bring Javed up on her own. Years later Javed has grown up, has acquired a sound education, returns home, to find that his mom is learning to read and write with the help of a beautiful young woman, Nazparvar, and soon both the youngsters fall in love with each other. Javed's mom approaches Nazparvar's dad to get them married, but at the same time her sister, who is now widowed, convinces Nazparvar's dad that Sajjad would be a better choice for his daughter, as a result the marriage takes place leaving both Javed and Nazparvar heartbroken, and they go separate ways. Years later they will meet again - this time Javed will be a lawyer - while Nazparvar, who is now a mother of a young son, Riaz, will be accused of killing her husband! —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Badshah Babar arrives in India from Iran, drives out Ibrahim Lodhi, makes peace with the Hindus and rules Delhi. He also adopts Rajkumari as his daughter and treats like his very own child, even though he has two sons, Humayun and Kamran, and a daughter, Gulbadan. Babar also finds out that Rajkumari is soon to be married to Randhir, the Rajkumar of Chanderi, who is out to avenge the conquest of his native land, by killing Humayun. Before that could happen Humayun falls seriously ill, Babar prays for his survival, but himself becomes ill and passes away, leaving Humayun to recuperate and be crowned the next Badshah. Humayun meets Hamida Bano and both fall in love with each other so much so that he loses all interest in the running of the state. When Delhi is attacked by Jai Singh, Kamran and Khan Bahadur join in the attack, forcing Hamida to flee. Humayun fends off the attackers, but must re-route his armies when Rajkumari is taken hostage. He does manage to rescue her, make amends with Randhir, but loses Delhi to his opponents, and flees to his native Iran. This is where he will meet and marry Hamida, and both will become parents of Shahenshah of all Shahenshah's, Jalaludin Akbar. But before that Humayun must take back his kingdom, and in order to do this he must first take Kabul, then Lahore, and then Agra and finally, if he manages to survive, Delhi. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com) Mughal emperor Humayun (Ashok Kumar). Advocating communal harmony, a policy prompted by contemporary developments, the film stresses the friendship between the victorious Babar (Nawaz) and the defeated Rajputs; he asks the Rajkumari (Veena), daughter of the slain Rajput King, to assume her father's throne and to regard Babar as a father. In the latter part the story, Humayun sacrifices his kingdom to save the Rajkumari. Hamida Bano (Nargis) is a commoner with whom Humayun falls in love, but who turns down his offer of marriage claiming that women, for all kings, are mere playthings. The major highlights of the film are the elaborate Mughal sets and the spectacular battle scenes with elephants and horses.
