Daruvu: Sound of Mass (Telugu) is an upcoming socio-fantasy film. This Telugu film has been written and directed by Siva, produced by Burugupalli Siva Rama Krishna under Sri Venkateswara Entertainments banner and starring Ravi Teja and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. Raviteja`s next movie ``Daruvu`` is the remake of Mega Star Chiranjeevi`s `Yamudiki Mogudu` and has been contemporized to suit the present day audience. Veteran actor Kaikala Satyanarayana who was famous for his portrayal of Yama Dharmaraju in several films was cast for that role and Tamil actor Prabhu was cast for the role of Yama Dharmaraju`s son.

PJ (Nani) is the grandson of a wealthy zamindar. PJ is an irresponsible youngster who is spoilt by the pampering and excessive money. His grandfather writes a will with several conditions before he dies. He writes the will that PJ will inherit his entire wealth only if he completes his graduation as a common man without any luxeries. The rest of the story is all about how PJ learns about values and life as he achieves his goal.

Srinivas, who stays in USA comes to India to get married. But he wants to be sure of the girl`s persona and therefore he switches role with his friend Ranga Babu. But this lead to a lot of confusion and misunderstandings.

He comes across Rani (Preity Zinta) and falls for her. However, he ends up teasing her and she begins to despise him. She is determined to avoid him, but he won't leave her alone. Raj Kumar saves Rani from some thugs, and she is impressed. After spending some time together, she begins to like him and eventually love him. Unfortunately his uncle has made other plans for him. He reveals the past of the hero's parents and his family. He mentions the challenge that he made with his in-laws to get the hero married to his daughter. Complying to this, the hero informs the heroine that their relationship needs to end there. Going with his uncle to the village for his uncle's daughter, to his joy he sees that it's none other than Rani. The rest of the movie revolves around the plot that is woven by him and his uncle to gain the heroine's hand and re-uniting the uncle with his family. This is done in a fun, comical way. —Wikipedia
