The story line is simple and straightforward. Arun (Siddharth) falls for his college friend Parvathi (Amala Paul) who is trying to reconcile with the fact that her parents are heading for a messy divorce. Both the lovers have a different perspective towards love and life in general. With conceptual differences prevailing between the two, will the love keep them together? Or is it rightly said, ``Love is not always enough``?

After Arun`s whirlwind romance with Parvathi ends, he moves to Puducherry and befriends Cathy, his friend John`s girlfriend. However, their friendship sparks jealousy in John, who mistakes it for love.

The films open with the marriage of a young couple, Krishna (Krishna) and Krishnavemi (Vijayalaksmi). The couple however, is charged with more than love to their account. Various criminal charges have a group of policemen chasing them, lead by Stanley Deva Sahayam (Kalyan). When the couple gets cornered by the police, Ramanathan (Sampath Raj) comes to their rescue and takes them to a safe location. As luck would have it, Ramanathan turns out to be a local policeman, authorised to catch the two. He interrogates them at a secret location where the story begins to unfold in flashback mode.

When David Billa, an international gangster is killed, a police officer who is the only person to see David die, picks Velu, his look-alike to infiltrate the gang. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman also joins the gang and she has her own agenda.
