Urvashi Born to a rich dad Visu has been killed by his father's friends who are behind his wealth. She comes as a ghost and saves her father's health and wealth. Her love interest Ramji will be seen in a pivotal role.

An aspiring young wannabe actor Raja (Rajinikanth) from a village get into a fast city which is full of crooks and drug dealers. As he searching for a place in the dream factory, he falls for the daughter of the house owner (Jaiganesh). Charmed by his looks and character, the girl (Gowthami) also falls for him. One day he accidentally meet his childhood friend Raghu (Raghuvaran) who is a spoiled rich guy. He offers Raja an acting job, then takes him to his uncle's house. Raja is to be in charge of the administration of the household and take care of five children (Raghu's nieces and nephews) each of whom have issues (such as being lazy, not studying etc.). Raja finds out that Raghu is cheating his uncle out of funds and using him to do the same. How he tackles these problems and helps the children become better is the rest of the movie.

She disguises herself as a village belle, Rajathi and enters Balu's life. After marriage, Balu is traumatized by her ignorance, but Rajathi (Chitra) falls in love with him. Meanwhile, Rajathi's suitor from the village hatches a plan to bring her back from her husband and marry her forcibly. Balu, on the other hand, decides to divorce Rajathi. Chitra decides to unveil her mask now, but will her plan succeed or boomerang.

After being sent to a juvenile prison for hitting his teacher after being called a thief, Raja is released and dedicates himself to social work. His selfless efforts to serve the needy, however, quickly earn him powerful enemies who envy his success.

Sisters Janaki and Jyoti live with their parents. Janaki marries Ramu despite loving wealthy Murli. Unhappy with simple farm life, she leaves after having a child. Jagat Prasad (Pran) , is a landowner, who is ever willing to help his fellow villagers with money, even at the cost of diminishing his inherited wealth. He is a thought leader of the village, his integrity unquestionable. His two daughters Jyoti (Padmini Kohlapure) and Janaki (Sridevi) are of marriageable age. Ramu (Jeetendra) is a tenant farmer, who tills Jagat Prasad's land. A simple man uneducated, who reeks of being decent. He is in love. Jyoti is in love. Her sister Janaki is a girl who loves reading, and is also in love with a man called Murli, who is wealthy and educated. LeelaKrishna (Shakti Kapoor) provides comic relief in a villainous role of providing inimical advice. On her request, her father (Vinu Chakravarthy) cancels her impending marriage to his partner's son. However, this enrages the partner (Srikanth) and he kidnaps her to get her forcibly married to his son (Nizhalgal Ravi).

Ramesh was framed for an industrialist's murder, where his look-alike helps him in finding the true killer. Can Ramesh save himself from the murder plot ? Ramesh (Rajinikanth) starts managing the office of an industrialist who strongly suspects his relatives to be looting him. Ramesh finds the culprit and keeps a tight leash on everything happening in the office, thereby earning the wrath of the industrialist's relatives. Ramesh and Sridevi (the industrialist's daughter) initially find themselves at loggerheads, but eventually fall in love with each other. The industrialist is happy about this development until he sees Ramesh cheating on his daughter. He fires Ramesh the very same day. The industrialist is murdered and Sridevi also sees Ramesh in her house that same night. Ramesh is dragged to court and is shortly framed for murder. Sridevi is upset, and the ill-intentioned relatives start closing their net around her, forcing her to marry Y. G. Mahendran (the son of two of the industrialist's relatives). In the meantime, the grief-stricken Ramesh meets another person named Raja (also Rajinikanth) in jail who looks exactly like him. Together Ramesh and Raja plan to punish the culprits and set the record straight.
