Pandu

Set in 1995, a small town in Andhra Pradesh (now Telangana) faces the dual threats of prohibition and naxalism. Pratap Goud, a wealthy toddy tapper, uses his power to exploit the villagers.

Shiva (Jiiva) and Ashok (Jiiva) are twin brothers. Shiva is a fisherman and a typical hero who fights injustice. Ashok is a lawyer and his true evil nature is hidden beneath the visage of his goodness. The family always misunderstands Shiva and holds high hopes of Ashok. The plot of the story is Shiva`s fight for justice in the pretext of a girl, Gayatri (Honey Rose), who suicides because of Ashok.

Vigneshwaran (Kannan) hails from a middle-class family, who is concerned about his society. He decides to become an investigative journalist and contribute his best for the masses. He works in a paper called `Kudiyarasu`.

Krishnan (Rajnikanth) leaves Mumbai and goes to Chennai to look after his mother who is suffering from paralysis. On his way to meet a businessman, he witnesses an old man being beaten up and takes him to the hospital. In the hospital, he finds that the old man is the businessman he was supposed to meet. Driven by compassion towards Krishnan, he offers him a job in his factory, much to the disapproval of his daughter, Shantidevi (Vijayshanti). In the office, he falls in love with Meena and they decide to get married only after the approval of his mother. But Shantidevi wants to marry him too, to seek revenge. Who does Krishnan end up with? Does Shantidevi succeed in her vile plans?
