Gru welcomes a new member to the family, Gru Jr., who's intent on tormenting his dad. However, their peaceful existence crashes when criminal mastermind Maxime Le Mal escapes from prison and vows revenge against Gru.

Gru and his beloved Minions form an enmity with a gang of supervillains, whose plan to take over the world may have disastrous consequences if they`re not stopped.

Illumination, who brought audiences Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, continues the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughtersóMargo, Edith and Agnesóand the Minions in Despicable Me 3. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, the animated film is produced by Illuminationís Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud. Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Centralís global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star whoís grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ë80s, and proves to be Gruís most formidable nemesis to date. The film will be released in theaters in summer 2017.

In this origin story we see the Minions evolve from single (yellow) cell organisms and grow to live for one purpose: to seek and serve the most despicable master they can find.

Once Gru leaves behind a life of super crime to raise Margo, Edith and Agnes, he and the Minions have some free time on their hands. But just as he starts to adjust to his role as a suburban family man, an ultra-secret organization dedicated to fighting evil on a global scale comes knocking. Now, it`s up to Gru and his new partner, Lucy (Kristen Wiig), to find out who is responsible for a series of spectacular crimes. After all, it takes the world`s greatest ex-villain to catch the one vying to take his place.
