Prachi Tehlan

Based on the medieval fair called Mamankam, which was celebrated every 12 years between 800 AD and 1755 AD, the story of the film is supposedly about a brave warrior (played by Megastar Mammootty) of Malabar and his loyal soldiers.

During the Mamangam festival held at the banks of Bharathappuzha in Thirunavaya, soldiers from various places used to come together to wager battle. For almost three centuries, Valluvakonathiri has been sending suicide squads called Chavers who valiantly sacrifice their lives trying to fight and bring down the Zamorins at the festival of Mamangam, celebrated every 12 years between 800 AD and 1755 AD. Now, in 1695, two more from Valluvanadu, including 12 year old Chaver Chanthunni, a master of the oldest martial art of the world Kalaripayattu, try to accomplish what many have failed in. Bailaras is the story of a villager named Jagga who owns a belarus tractor and is famous for winning tochan (tug of war between tractors) competitions in and around his village. The tractor is his prized possession and his entire life revolves around it. The only problem in his life is the constant pressure on him by his family to get married but till date he did not fall in love with any girl. Other tochan competitors are jealous of his bailaras and want to defeat him in a tochan competition by any means possible. This family drama is about a simple man's dream of finding his true love and keeping his family together, which includes his tractor bailaras. Will Jagga ever find the girl of his dreams? Will the competitors ever be able to defeat him? This family entertainer shows the struggles of a simple man to fight against the world to achieve his dreams.
