The film starts with expert assassin Mary (Taraji P. Henson) getting dressed up. She goes to the home of her target, a bookie named Marcus Miller. Mary shoots Marcus dead and then hears noise coming from a nearby room. She finds a young boy, Danny (Jahi Di'Allo Winston), playing video games. Realizing he is Marcus' son, Mary leaves the apartment filled with guilt. One year later. Danny is on his own, working for a criminal named 'Uncle' (Xander Berkeley), with Mary keeping a close eye on him from a distance. Danny delivers drugs to a man, Jerome (Owen Burke). After getting paid, Danny notices Jerome shorted him on money. Danny aims his gun at Jerome and demands more money until Jerome tells him there's money in the fridge, and that he can take what is owed to him. Danny takes the whole stash and walks out. He stops to get food on the way home. He returns the money to Uncle, who notices some money is missing. After Danny says he got food, Uncle smacks Danny and threatens to cut off his hand next time he takes from him. Danny goes outside to take a nap on a bench when someone swipes his bag. He runs after them and gets them to drop the bag when he takes out his gun and fires it. Danny starts to feel dizzy, and he faints. Moments later, he is found and taken in by Mary. Mary takes Danny to her apartment where she makes him some food. She warns him not to go into her room (which he does). Later, she goes to Uncle's place to return anything that Danny may have that belongs to him. Mary demands that Uncle let Danny go, but when his goons threaten her, Mary kills them before shooting Uncle in the head. Mary later goes to meet with her fellow assassins, led by Benny (Danny Glover). Uncle's criminal family thinks that someone from Benny's group killed Uncle to start a war. They are later visited by Uncle's brother Luka (Rade Serbedzija). Benny assures Luka that if anyone from his team had killed Uncle, they will be dealt with immediately. The team suspects that one of their guys, Walter (Neal McDonough), might be Uncle's killer. Benny instructs Mary to follow Walter since he goes for a run every day at 3:00. Mary tries to find Walter while she takes Danny out to get hot dogs. Mary misses Walter as he goes out but spends the afternoon with Danny overlooking the city by the water. He tells Mary how his mother left him and his dad when he was 7, and how his dad was killed. Danny went to stay with his grandmother, but she passed away too, and then someone brought him to Uncle. The next day, Mary goes for a run to follow Walter, maintaining her distance so he won't notice her. After following him under a bridge, Mary shoots Walter dead. Benny's son Tom (Billy Brown), who is also Mary's ex-boyfriend, comes to Mary's apartment. He finds Danny and menacingly tells him to let Mary know he wants to speak with her. When Mary gets home, Danny tells her about Tom showing up. She later takes Danny to Benny's home for the birthday of his wife, Mina (Margaret Avery). During the dinner, Danny mentions he's from Jamaica Plain. Tom later finds Mary in the kitchen and brings up how Marcus was the target from Jamaica Plain, so he pieces together that Danny was his son, and thinks that he could pin his father's murder on Benny and his crew. Mary assures Tom that's not the case. Benny later invites Mary to slow dance, where she says she wants to leave this life behind. When Mary and Danny leave, Tom tells Benny about Danny. Mary later meets up with Tom as they storm a hideout for Luka's guys. They kill everyone inside but they do not find Luka. Danny takes one of Mary's guns from her room and goes to find Benny. He takes out the gun and tells Benny to let Mary go. Benny then tells Danny that Mary is the one who killed his father since he owed them a lot of money, and she is only taking care of him out of guilt. Danny gives Benny the gun, just as Mary arrives after learning where he went. Danny leaves, and Mary shoots Benny dead moments later. Mary tries to run after Danny, just as Tom is informed of Benny's death. Jerome, who also works under Benny, tells Tom that it may have been Danny who killed Benny since he saw the kid going in alone and running out scared. Mary finds Danny by his spot over the water. She expresses great remorse over what she did and says not a day goes by that she doesn't regret killing his dad, but she did not take him in just because she felt guilty. Danny appears to forgive her. Mary drives Danny away, but he leaves the car and is taken by Tom and his goons. Tom soon figures that Mary really killed Benny. He sends her a message to inform her that they have Danny. Mary heads over to the warehouse where they're keeping him, and she proceeds to kill every one of Benny and Tom's guys. Mary finds Danny and frees him just as Tom finds them. Danny runs out, leaving Mary and Tom to fight. Mary succeeds and finishes Tom with a bullet to the head. In the final scene, Mary reunites with Danny outside, and they drive off to another location.

In New York, veteran thief Keith Ripley (Morgan Freeman) was taking subway ride when a younger man named Martin conducted a heist and Ripley was impressed with his getaway. Martin was following 2 jewelers (from the shop of Romanovs) into the subway, where he robs them of a briefcase and a sachet of diamonds that one of them was carrying in his coat. As the subway cops spot him, Martin throws the suitcase cash in the car, causing a stampede. He then exits the moving subway car and climbs to the roof. He changes his vest and puts on a cap, and jumps on to the next platform, just as the train arrives. Lt Weber of the NYPD is in charge of art theft. He analyzes the CCTV footage and finds it amusing that Ripley was on the same subway carriage that the robbery took place on. Ripley apprehends Martin when he tries to sell the diamonds. Ripley helps Martin sell the diamonds for a fair price, but as they come out, Ripley is caught and threatened by the Russian mafia. They take the money that Martin got for the diamonds as interest on what Ripley owes them. Ripley recruits Gabriel Martin (Antonio Banderas) to help him pull off one final job in order to repay his debt to the Russian mafia. Ripley says that he has been following Martin ever since he entered New York from Miami. Ripley knows that Martin goes for bigger scores and Martin says that he did the subway job for the thrill of it. Ripley had killed his previous partner, Victor Korolenko (Rade Serbedzija), before they could complete the plan. Ripley's plan was to steal 2 Faberge eggs worth $20 million each. Between 1885 and 1916, Faberge produced 50 such Easter Eggs for the Empress and her daughter-in-law, the Czarina Alexandra. Most are on display at the Kremlin. The rest are in private collections, in museums or lost. The Romanovs (who are the Russian mafia) own 2 of these eggs and nobody knows that they exist. Apparently, Victor was about to squeal to the Lt Weber, which would have meant jail for Ripley, so Ripley killed him. Lt Weber says that there are no witnesses to Victor's murder even though the murder took place at a time when the bathhouse was full of patrons. Lt Weber knows that diamonds in the subway heist came from Romanovs and believes that Ripley is planning to take down the Russian Mafia in a big way. Martin is unsure of Ripley, but Ripley's goddaughter, Alexandra Korolenko (Radha Mitchell), who is Victor's daughter, convinces him otherwise, although Ripley does not like that the two are getting close. Ripley tells Martin the plan, that they are going to steal from a Russian museum (owned by the Romanovs) that has been smuggling Russian treasures into the country and bribing the NYPD with large donations and expensive equipment, so that they are left alone to their business. The two infiltrate a party at the museum (The Romanov were hosting a party to honor the NYPD) posing as cops, to gather information about their vault (where the eggs are stored). Lt. Weber (Robert Forster) a detective from NYPD, has a vendetta against Ripley and has been trying to catch him for the last 22 years of his career, but never has enough evidence against Ripley. Victor was going to be his witness, before Ripley shot him. According to Alexandra, the Russian mafia killed Victor, because they wanted Ripley to settle his debts. According to Ripley, Victor was in debt of Russian mafia led by Nicky (Rade Serbedzija). But Nicky was ready to forgive the debt if Victor helped steal the eggs. Victor refused, as he wanted to protect Alex. So he went to the NYPD, for witness protection and was killed by the Russians instead. The Russian mob, led by Nicky Petrovitch, grow impatient and kidnap Alexandra, telling Ripley he must steal two Fabergé eggs from the Russian Museum in order to get her back. Nicky also tells them that the eggs belong to him, as they were crafted by his great grandfather, and stolen by the Kremlin. With Alex involved, now Martin is determined to help steal the eggs. When the duo gets into the vaults of the museum with the eggs, Martin reveals he is an undercover cop from Miami planted by Weber to catch Ripley, leaves Ripley locked in the vault and informs Weber, while taking the eggs to the Russian mobster to free Alexandra. After Alexandra is released, Martin is forced to meet with Nicky who reveals that the eggs they have stolen are made of wood. Meanwhile, Weber and his squad enter the museum, but are detained by the security guards due to Martin telling the guards he was a cop as he escaped. Martin reports into the police the next morning after the police have picked up Nicky, only to learn that the man they have in custody is not the man Martin met (earlier when he met Nicky with Ripley, when he had kidnapped Alex), and that the man he met was actually Victor Korolenko, who had faked his death with Ripley's help. It is then revealed that Ripley had made a deal with Romanov's and had cleaned out the vault of all the smuggled items (which had included the eggs) before the police could inspect it, meaning there was no evidence that anything had been stolen and that Martin's testimony would be worthless as his actions have been kept off the book to prevent Ripley from finding out and that Martin's involvement with Alex compromises him, and Ripley had to be let go (Alex appeared as his lawyer at his bail hearing) Ripley later calls Martin from a tarmac ready to leave with Victor to meet with a buyer for the eggs, letting him know that they knew Martin was a cop from the beginning. Martin later meets up with Alex, who remained in New York, and who confesses that her feelings for him are real. Martin decides to become a thief.

A television reporter and her cameraman are trapped inside a building quarantined by the CDC, after the outbreak of a mysterious virus which turns humans into bloodthirsty killers. A television reporter and her cameraman are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles fire crew. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartments. They soon learn that a woman living in the building has been infected by something unknown. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to leave with the news crew, only to find the building has quarantined. All communication in and it is stopped; the only evidence of what took place is the news crew's videotape. —ahmetkozan

Set in the early 1950s in Saigon, Vietnam, during the end of the First Indochina War, on one level The Quiet American is a love story about the triangle that develops between Thomas Fowler (Michael Caine), a British journalist in his fifties; a young American idealist, supposedly an aid worker, named Alden Pyle (Brendan Fraser); and Phuong (Do Thi Hai Yen), a Vietnamese girl. On another level it is also about the political turmoil and growing American involvement that led to the Vietnam War. Thomas Fowler (Michael Caine), who narrates the story, is involved in the war only as an observer, apart from one crucial instant. Fowler loves Vietnam. Pyle (Brendan Fraser), who represents America and its policies in Vietnam, is an OSS (Office of Strategic Services) operative sent to steer the war according to America's interests, and is passionately devoted to the ideas of York Harding, an American foreign policy theorist who said that what Vietnam needed was a "third player" to take the place of both the colonialists and the Vietnamese rebels and restore order. Officially, Pyle is posted to Vietnam as the Economic Aid Mission. Fowler doesn't know that Pyle is a spy. Fowler had met Pyle at the hotel Continental in Saigon. Fowler had a Vietnamese mistress Phuong (Do Thi Hai Yen). Pyle wanted to understand why the French were losing and the communists winning in Vietnam. Pyle met Phuong via Fowler. Hinh (Tzi Ma) is Fowler's assistant. Fowler knows that Hinh has friends in the communist circles. Fowler is being asked by his paper to return to London, so he is looking for a fresh story that can justify his presence in Vietnam. Pyle starts flirting with Phuong and it is clear that she is also more than interested in him. Fowler tells Phuong that his paper is asking him to return to London, which makes her insecure. For a story, Fowler travels to Phat Diem, a communist insurgent area. He finds Pyle there as well. Together they reach a village, where everyone was killed by the communists. The entire village eradicated. In Phat Diem Pyle admits to Fowler that he has feelings for Phuong and promises that he wont act on them without Fowler's knowledge. After they return to Saigon, Pyle meets Phuong in front of Fowler and proposes to her. This angers Fowler. He tells Phuong later that he has asked his wife for a divorce. Due to his story on Phat Diem, Fowler is granted an extension to stay in Vietnam. This third player was plainly meant to be America, and so Pyle sets about creating a "Third Force" against the Viet Minh by using a Vietnamese splinter group headed by corrupt militia leader General The (Quang Hai) (based on the actual Trinh Minh The). Fowler visits General The's garrison for an interview and is surprised to find Pyle there. Fowler suspects that General The is getting supplies from an unknown power and was responsible for the massacre at Phat Diem. Pyle rides back to Saigon with Fowler. The road is controlled by the communists at night. Fowler's car runs out of petrol, and they take shelter in a watch tower. As the communists descend upon the road, an alert Pyle saves them even as the car and watch-tower are destroyed. Once Fowler and Pyle reach Saigon, Fowler asks Hinh to investigate about who is arming General The. The army he has is not small and he definitely has a big power behind him. Fowler tells Phuong that his wife had agreed to give him a divorce. But Pyle reads the letter and finds that Fowler's wife has made no such promise. He reveals the same to Phuong. Hinh finds that a new shipment of materials has arrived for General The. Fowler and Hinh investigate and finds several crates of Dialacton (a medicine being used by Pyle's mission) in American marked boxes. Pyle has stolen Fowler's Vietnamese mistress Phuong, promising her marriage and security. Fowler returns home to find Phoung gone, and later finds her living with Pyle. Pyle's arming of The's militia with American weaponry leads to a series of terrorist bombings in Saigon. Fowler was at the location of the bombings. Right after the blasts he sees Pyle arriving at the scene and speaking in fluent Vietnamese. Fowler now suspects that Pyle is a spy and is supporting General The. Upon reading further, Fowler figures out that Dialacton is used in the manufacture of plastic explosives. He connects Pyle directly to the bombings. These bombings, dishonestly blamed on the Communists in order to further American outrage, kill a number of innocent people (30 dead), including women and children. When Fowler finds out about Pyle's involvement in the bombings, he takes one definitive action to seal all of their fates. He indirectly agrees to let his assistant, Hinh, and his Communist cohorts confront Pyle; when Pyle tries to flee, Hinh fatally stabs him. Phuong subsequently returns to Fowler, and while the local French police commander Inspector Vigot (Rade Serbedzija) suspects Fowler's role in Pyle's murder, he has no evidence and does not pursue the matter. Eventually the French are defeated, and Vietnam is split between North ruled by Communists and the South ruled by capitalists. Communists then declare war to unite Vietnam. US gets directly involved in Vietnam, supporting the South army.

Ethan Hunt, a secret agent from the Impossible Missions Force, is tasked with finding and destroying a biological weapon before it wreaks havoc on the world.

In the Brazilian village of Belo Quinto, Father Andrew Kiernan, a former scientist and a Jesuit priest who investigates supposed miracles, examines a statue of the Virgin Mary weeping blood at the funeral of Father Paulo Alameida, who had previously experienced stigmata. While Andrew is collecting evidence, a young boy steals a rosary from the father's hand. The boy later sells it to a woman in a marketplace, who sends it to her daughter, Frankie Paige, living in Pittsburgh. Shortly afterward, Frankie is attacked by an unseen force while bathing, and receives two deep wounds on her wrists. As the wounds are treated, doctors cannot find the cause. Frankie asks a priest if he is Andrew Kiernan, the scientist, priest and investigator. When the priest says he is Father Derning, the lights in the train flash and Frankie is whipped from behind by an unseen force. While Frankie is hospitalized again, the priest sends security tapes showing the attack to the Vatican, and Andrew is sent to investigate. Andrew interviews Frankie, believing her wounds may also be stigmata. When she tells him she is an atheist, Andrew tells her that stigmata is when the deeply devoted are struck with the five wounds that Jesus received during the crucifixion. Frankie begins to research on her own what the cause could be. Her head begins to bleed, the third stigmata wound caused by the Crown of Thorns. Frankie runs home, where Andrew is waiting, and then runs into an alley. As Andrew pursues her, Frankie smashes a glass bottle and uses the shards to carve symbols on the hood of a car: when Andrew approaches her, she yells at him in another language. Andrew takes Frankie to Father Derning's church, and the Vatican translates what she was yelling in Aramaic. The next morning, Andrew returns to her apartment to find her writing on the wall, now covered in Aramaic. Frankie talks in a male voice, speaking Italian. Wounds appear in her feet, the fourth wound of stigmata. Andrew emails photographs of Frankie's apartment wall to the Vatican, where Brother Delmonico recognizes the words and deletes the pictures. He tells Andrew the words are from a document the church found that looked to be an entirely new gospel. Father Dario shows the pictures to Cardinal Daniel Houseman, who also recognizes them. Delmonico phones Marion Petrocelli and tells him the missing gospel has been found in Pittsburgh. Andrew goes to Frankie's apartment to find the wall she wrote on painted over, and Frankie attempts to seduce him. When Andrew rejects her, she attacks him and denounces his beliefs in a male voice, ending with Frankie levitating off the bed, crying tears of blood. Houseman and Dario arrive with Derning and take Frankie to another church, sending Andrew to Derning's. At Derning's church, Andrew meets Petrocelli, who tells him the words Frankie has been writing are part of a document found outside Jerusalem they believed to be a gospel in the exact words of Jesus. Petrocelli, Delmonico and Alameida were assigned to translate it, but Houseman ordered them to stop. Alameida refused and stole the document to continue translating it alone, having been excommunicated by Houseman. Petrocelli tells Andrew that the document was Jesus telling his disciples that the Kingdom of God is in all of us and not confined to churches. Petrocelli tells Andrew that Alameida suffered from stigmata. Andrew races to the church where Frankie is, while Houseman and Dario attempt to perform an exorcism on Frankie. Frankie shouts at them in a male voice, and Houseman attempts to strangle her. Andrew stops him, and the room is set on fire. Now believing Frankie is possessed by Alameida's spirit, Andrew offers to be Alameida's messenger instead. He walks unharmed through the fire to retrieve Frankie, bidding Alameida's spirit to depart in peace. Some time later, Andrew returns to Belo Quinto and finds the original documents for the lost gospel in Alameida's church. Text just before the end credits describes the discovery of the Gospel of Thomas, stating that the Catholic Church refuses to recognize the document as a gospel and considers it heresy.

On his next job, he is hired by the Russian Mafia to steal a cold fusion energy formula from scientist Emma Russel. However, the mission backfires as he falls for the pretty, intelligent scientist. Speed ahead and the young boy is now a master thief in bidding wars with countries for his services. Using his skills of master disguise, he eludes all pursuers as he assumes names associated with the various Saints. In this role, after stealing from a Russian industrialist, the industrialist hires The Saint to steal a formula for cold fusion being developed by a young female scientist. Cold fusion is said to permit a nation to heat its citizens with only a few gallons of water. However, on this case, The Saint falls in love with the scientist placing him in a quandary of fulfilling his professional obligations or staying with the innocent young scientist. When she becomes threatened by the Russian Mafia, he has no choice but to go ahead with his job.
