Bastushaap is a thrilling love story which revolves around five people living in the same house. The film is based on the concept of Feng Shui and Vaastu.

Joy, a chef in a premium city hotel falls for Ranjana and loves to cook for her. Life is a bed of roses till the day Ranjana receives a phone call - someone calls up saying he is cholesterol and he wants to get rid of her. She feels a mysterious person in a mask stalking her. Soon it turns into a nightmare for Ranjana and Joy takes her to a psychiatrist. The psychiatrist claims it is all in her mind. The fear of putting on weight has embedded itself in her subconscious mind. The film is about what happens when Ranjana gets obsessed with losing weight.

This is a story of isolation and hope, of a writer in exile. The writer is banished for her attack on religious fundamentalism and patriarchy and her cat is suddenly left alone.

Abhijit (Abir Chatterjee) is a mathematics professor at a reputed Calcutta college. Debjani (Raima Sen) is a cardiologist at the throes of her career. They meet on a night of mist, rain and uncertainty and fall for one another. But their love flows on the undercurrent of a prophecy and Abhijits continuous flux between fate and logic. Gradually one thing leads to the other and Abhijit`s life slowly crumbles around him even as his obsession for Debjani swells over like a hungry tide on the sands of time. Both fatal, both transient. Set amidst the scenic locales of the Andamans, the story takes unpredicted twists and hair-pin bents to keep us engaged as Abhijit rises and falls riding the waves of a soothsaying. Here, Shubhro (Indrasish Roy) plays a catalyst hurling the protagonists to their destiny. And then an accident changes their lives forever. The prophecy of impending doom lets hamartia take over.

An affair that begins one rainy evening on a lonely Calcutta street. And ends on yet another rainy evening in the Andaman Islands. A journey dotted by love, jealousy and destiny, it is loosely inspired by the works of William Shakespeare. The film begins with a shot in which a very disheveled looking Abhijit (Abir Chatterjee) enters the room to find Debjani (Raima Sen) lying dead on the bed. The story goes back to a flashback and we get to see the reason behind such a fatal outcome. Abhijit is a professor of Mathematics at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. He lives with his only sister Mallika who is a crime journalist by profession. A chance meeting with a soothsayer (Sohag Sen) who warns Abhijit to stay away from love for his own good is not given much importance by the professor. One rainy night he comes across a beautiful damsel in distress Debjani, stranded, as her taxi has broken down. He gives Debjani, a trainee heart surgeon, a lift in his car and Cupid strikes. They date and fall in love. Abhijit, however, faces a problem at his job when an infatuated student proposes him. He rejects and in retaliation she does something to get back at the professor. He is initially arrested, and then ostracized by one and all. Faced with such grave issues at work, he goes to the Andamans along with Debjani in search of a new life. There they meet Shubhro (Indrasish Roy) who is Debjani's junior from their high school days. Shubhro runs an NGO at Port Blair and composes music in his pastime. Shubhro and Debjani spend time together rejuvenating their old friendship. At times, Abhijit gets jealous of Shubhro's unwavering attention on Debjani. Shubhro dies in an accident and this leaves Abhijit in a confused state. He begins to question himself about the prophecy of the soothsayer. What actually happens next? Does Abhijit leave Debjani? Who killed Debjani? Hrid Majharey answers them all.

The film revolves around choreographer, Rudra who is performing Tagore`s, `Chitraganda`, a dance drama. He is in a homosexual relationship with Partho, a drummer. In order to fulfill their desire of having a baby, Rudra decides to opt for a sex reassignment surgery.

Four murders have taken place in Kolkata over a period of eight months, and in each case, there has been a celebrated piece of Bengali poem found beside the corpse. A young cop, on the trail of this serial killer, seeks the assistance of a suspended and tainted cop, who is an expert on the subject. There is also an eccentric poet who has violent fits of anger and takes off on nightly sojourns. Also Interested is the young cop`s ex-girlfriend, who along with her childhood friend and colleague seeks an interview with a live serial killer for a TV channel. With the fifth murder, all hell breaks loose and dark, murky skeletons tumble out of the cupboard. Can the young cop and the experienced one prevent the next murder? Will the cop`s ex-girlfriend end up with the interview of a serial killer? '

Maanav is a struggling filmmaker who does not want to compromise on his script. His girlfriend Ruchi is a successful film editor who arranges for him to meet Nitin, a producer. Nitin likes the script but is not very sure of its box office potential. Maanav then suggests a story from the Panchtantra: A woman is caught red-handed with her lover by her husband and yet, she manages to wriggle out of it scot-free! Nitin loves the story but finds it too short for a feature film. Maanav then creates three more stories based on the same premise: in a way, the Panchantra story travels in different versions to the modern times through the film. The four stories are woven together by a common story. Mirch itself echoes this structure, with four stories mingling with the main narrative.

Natobor Not Out is a comedy which will appeal to a wide cross-section of Bengalis - urban, small town and even rural, as almost every Bengali is either already a poet or at least aspires to be one. There`s something in them that pulls them towards poetry is now a known fact. This is the story of a young chap `Natobor` from a typical north Calcutta middle-class neighbourhood whose heart beats for poetry, but with no appreciation coming from any quarters - not even the local club, he loses heart almost every day.

This is the story of three individuals who have their own share of problems they are dealing with. Akshay (Tusshar Kapoor) is a struggling crime reporter who wants to marry the love of his life Priya (Raima Sen), the sister of the leader of D Company, Dattu Bhai. Lambodar Jha (Rajpal Yadav) works as a mascot in a mall but tells at home that he has a business. He finds it difficult to deal with his wife and resents tall people since he is very short himself. The trio soon make a plan to extract 1 crore from Joshi`s son. They demand the amount from him threatening to kill his family if he does not give the money. However, the matter goes public somehow and the trio try their best to keep it from disclosing. The rest is how they prevent their identities from being disclosed, as members of C KKompany, and fulfill their respective desires.

The film follows Paresh, a government projectionist who travels through remote areas of rural India with his driver Chapal. The two men show educational films to disinterested villagers, while Paresh idolizes the image of a beautiful woman who appears in a surviving fragment of film. On the road, they encounter the pregnant Amina, who is attempting to reach an unspecified border to start a new life with her child. The trio forges an unlikely traveling alliance, just as they are also met with a series of setbacks: their 16mm projector is stolen, and Amina does not possess the documents which will allow her safe passage.

Binodini is a young widow who lives with a woman and her son, Mahendra, who had once refused to marry her. Their lives are thrown into disarray when there is deceit and adultery between Binodini, Mahendra, his wife and his friend. The book, Binodini, is the story of a young woman, who is left to her own devices when her sickly husband dies soon after they are married. She returns to her village and lives there for a couple of months until she sees one of her relations passing by there on her way to somewhere else. Binodini hails the woman and the two soon agree that it would be best if Binodini came to live with the woman and her son, Mahendra (who, by the way, was one of the first to see Binodini's photo when she was unwed and up for grabs yet refused her on account of his being "unready for marriage"). Now, when the two arrive the woman's son and his new bride are in the throes of passion, constantly sneaking off to be alone together; this infatuation does not last long, however, when Mahendra begins to see that his wife's friend, Binodini, is more his type. The story details the lives of these three and Mahendra's best friend as they deal with certain issues as distrust, adultery, lies, and numerous fallings-out between them. The movie correctly depicts what Tagore so skillfully wrote and is a sad, stirring tale of the deceit and sorrow that come from being unsatisfied and unhappy. —gavin (gunmasterM@hotmail.com) Mahendra is a doctor circa British rule in India, who lives a comfortable life in a city in Bengal (India). He is friendly with a young man, a bachelor named Behari. Both Mahendra and Behari are of marriage age, and do get a lot of proposals. One day they receive a proposal of a young woman named Binodini along with a photograph. Neither of them shows any interest nor even take a look at the photograph. They get news that Binodini has got married. Shortly thereafter, they receive another proposal without a photograph, for a young woman named Ashalata. Behari is asked to check her out for Mahendra - he ends up consenting to marry her, but subsequently let's Mahendra be the groom. A few months later Ashalata gets pregnant, and the family gets the news that Binodini has been widowed only after a year's marriage. Then things get complicated when Ashalata befriends Binodini - and both Mahendra and Behari get attracted to her - so much so that Mahendra is considering separating from his bride - and Behari separating from his bachelorhood - but both in quandary over the social taboo of marrying a widow - and of the present agitation aimed against the British to quit India. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Bombay City lives in fear of a notorious thief who calls himself Chindi Chor, and steals whenever and whatever he desires without any regard to security, and police protection. When Ghoshal announces the exhibition and subsequent auction of Emperor Babushah's crown, Chindi challenges him that he is going to steal this priceless crown, and Ghosal accepts the challenge, and hires private security guards. Chindi carries out the theft, and two of the security guards, Vikram and Ajay, and an accomplice, John D'Souza, become prime suspects, and are on the run. They must apprehend Chindi and recover the crown to absolve themselves of this crime. While being chased by security guards, the trio crash into a wall, and are transported back to the 10th century, straight into the palace of Emperor Babushah himself. The trio think they are on the sets of a Bollywood movie, and take nothing seriously, until they are imprisoned. It is then the hapless trio realize that they must not only escape, but must also take the crown, back with them to the 21st century to absolve themselves of this crime. When an imminent drought threatens to ruin their crop, Rambhi and her husband Veeru move from their village to the city. Through threat, violence and blackmail, Veeru makes a career as a kind of mafia don in the corrupt political system, but it turns out he is no more than a puppet of an influential lawyer who has him killed when Veeru decides not to kill any more.
