Police Force an Inside Story is based on the popular book written by IPS officer Y. P. Trainee police officer Vijay (Akshay Kumar) is a middle class small town man who gets sucked into the political system where leaders have turned the battle of ballot into exploitation, opportunism for self benefit and to deprive the country of its true, selfless & sacrificing leaders. Ratan Sethi (Raj Babbar) is a politician who subverts the political system. As a senior police officer, Mr. Bhonsle (Mohan Joshi) runs a virtual mafia operation for politicians and friends from inside the department. But honest senior officer Mr. Pandey (Amrish Puri) trains the young officers with dedication, seeing to it that they imbibe values of truth and honesty and emphasizing with them to lay down their lives in service of their motherland. He tells the officer that they are the lucky few who have got the opportunity to serve their motherland. Babu (Suresh Oberoi) works for a gang that is led by Chhote Pathan (Kabir Bedi) and his men Rajjo Singh (Raj Babbar) and D.K Sharma (Dalip Tahil). Babu knows many of the gang's secrets, and Chhote promises him that if he keeps his mouth shut, they will look after his family; they betray him. He is rescued by an honest police inspector (Ashish Vidyarthi). Babu returns home to find that his wife Poornima (Raakhee), Arjun (his son), and Pooja (his daughter) live a destitute life from Chhote's betrayal. He tells Poornima that they betrayed him for his silence and swears vengeance. He then teams up with the inspector and reveals the locations of their deals, and many gang members are arrested. Chhote finds Babu hiding and threatens him. He and his men take him to Babu's home, and punish him in front of Poornima and her children. Arjun is out doing his job to earn money, and only Poornima and Pooja are present at home. Poornima begs Chhote to forgive them and promises to leave the city. Chhote grabs Pooja and then tells Poornima that he will take his daughter with them, raise her for 10-12 years, then sell her. Babu tries to save his daughter and Chhote decapitates him. Pooja screams for help when she sees her brother returning home from work. He fails to follow her, and he runs back home to find his father dead and his mother having a mental breakdown; she considers Pooja's toy doll her daughter and does not recognize Arjun. Arjun goes to the inspector, who cannot find Chhote or Pooja. He tells Arjun that they have completely disappeared and may have fled the city. Arjun promises that he will not give up and promises to search for his sister. Ten years later, Poornima is housed in a mental hospital, and Arjun (Akshay Kumar) has become a high-profile vigilante. He works for the police inspector, now the Commissioner of Police, by exposing illegal firearms transactions. The Commissioner of Police tells Arjun that he finds a clue that may lead him to Pooja. He tells Arjun how after Chhote and his gang murdered his father, fled the city and reached the city of Ghaziabad, Chhote and Rajjo were killed in a police chase. D.K. Sharma took over the gang and disappeared, and there has been no news of him since. He learned about Shetty (Rami Reddy), a famous arms smuggler who was once Chhote's driver. Arjun finds Shetty and asks where his sister is. Shetty tells him that Sharma knows, and tries to shoot Arjun, but is shot by the Commissioner instead. From the police control room, they see Sharma arriving from a flight, and him taking a girl named Tina (Kareena Kapoor) on a Rajasthan tour. Arjun catches Sharma and interrogates him. Sharma says that Rajjo is still alive and knows where his sister is, and Tina is his daughter. Arjun drops Sharma to his death. Back at the police control room, the Commissioner shows camera footage proving Rajjo is alive. Arjun travels to South Africa and meets Sardar Vichitra Singh (Gulshan Grover), and tells him that he has come to find Rajjo. Arjun reveals to Tina about her father's identity. Tina confronts Rajjo, and he realizes his mistakes. Before he can reveal where Chhote has kept Pooja he gets shot and dies in Tina's arms. Tina tells Arjun to follow Rocky. Chhote makes an appearance, and Arjun kills him and Rocky. Arjun comes back to India with Pooja and reunites with Tina and his family.

Unknown to Nirmal, Superintendent of Police Thappa (Raj Babbar) is plotting with Raja (also played by Sanjay Kapoor) to kill Nirmal and take his place, Raja's girlfriend, Nisha (Manisha Koirala) overhears this and questions Raja, but Raja lies to her. Things start to change for the worst for Nirmal's dad and Diwanji when Raja is introduced to the family, and with the help of Thappa establishes his identity and fools everyone. Later on SSP convinces Kiran's poor father Raushan Lal to take the blame on him and in return promises 2 lakh rupees for treatment of Raushan's ailing son. Later on Vicky investigates the whole matter and finds out that it was his brother and SSP who have planned the plot and got Raushan lal arrested. Things starts revealing in a comic manner and in the end the police duo is finally arrested on charges of corruption by the IG himself and Inder saves Kiran's ailing brother by donating his own kidney. In short this movie tells a lot about corruption in the police system in a very funny take on the political system of the country. Kohinoor is 5 yrs old, and has the ability to speak to animals. He lives with his mother (Aparajita Bhushan) and dad Devkaran (Ishrat Ali) (the Maharaja of the kingdom). Hanuman Baba (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) is a confidant of the King and has witnessed Kohinoor's unique powers. Devkaran is working to convert the Kingdom's vasts lands into a designated sanctuary for wild animals. Ranbir Singh (Salim Ghouse) & his wife (Kunika) want to exploit the natural forests for the wood and the antlers of deer, and growing opium. Ranbir is the manager of the Kingdom's vast estates and plans to take possession of the whole Kingdom, by marrying Devkaran's sister and pressing his claim to the Kingdom. Suryamani (Prem Chopra) is the cousin brother of Kohinoor's mom. Amina Bi (Aruna Irani) is Kohinoor's nanny. Ali (Raj Babbar) & Aslam are Amina's own sons. A fortune teller, who is also Ranbir's mother (Shashikala) tells Ranbir that Kohinoor will be his death. Fearing his death, Ranbir Singh (Salim Ghouse) decides to kill Kohinoor when he is a child. Ranbir attacks the palace in collusion with Suryamani. Ranbir kills his wife, Devkaran, his wife and his 2 daughters. Amina escapes with Kohinoor and Ali, sacrificing her other son Aslam (by making him pose like Kohinoor, whom Ranbir kills) Amina hands over Kohinoor to Hanuman Baba, and promises to send Ali 20 yrs later to take Kohinoor back to the Kingdom. But Amina is captured and tortured for 20 yrs by Ranbir. Ali grows up to be a resistance fighter against Ranbir's plan to grow opium in the cleared forest lands. Meanwhile Kohinoor grows up in the jungle and uses his powers to protect animals against poachers and hunters. Hanuman Baba protects Kohinoor's magical powers from being exposed to the outside world. Shaili Mathur (Manisha Koirala) is a reporter and runs a segment on people with unique abilities in India. Bhalu Prasad Bihari Orey (Shakti Kapoor) is her future fiance and the son of the owner of the channel. Shaili is ordered to track down the story on Kohinoor and verify its facts and bring it in front of the people. At the railway station, Shaili runs into Ali, who says that he is also headed to the Madhuban jungle to meet Kohinoor. Shaili gets Ali arrested for entering the wrong class of carriage (first class when he had a general ticket) Shaili heads to a village fair where all young men from the neighboring areas arrive in the hope to meet their life partner. She hopes that Kohinoor might also be there. Kohinoor indeed comes and falls in love with Shaili. He wants to marry Shaili, but she is offended that an uneducated villager wants to marry her. a policeman tries to fraud Shaili of Rs 5000 by passing off a random guy as Kohinoor and Shaili thinks the story has no merit. But there is no train till the next day. They decide to spend the time in a jungle safari. They are attacked by a herd of elephants, who end up overturning their jeep. Kohinoor arrives in time and saves them. Shalini decides to play a damsel in distress to seduce Kohinoor. Shalini says she loves him, since he saved her life. Kohinoor reciprocates the love when Shalini confirms that Orey is not her fiance.. Kohinoor introduces Shaili to Hanuman Baba, who advises Kohinoor against marrying this girl from the city. The news of Kohinoor's find reaches the papers and Ali rushes to Madhuban to stop him before he leaves with Shaili. But before he can get there, Kohinoor leaves with Shaili for the city. Ali meets Hanuman Baba, who sends Ali after Kohinoor to the city. Ali and Hanuman Baba intercept the train before it reaches the city and tell the truth to Kohinoor. Hanuman Baba tells Kohinoor about his past and how Ranbir slaughtered his entire family. Kohinoor leaves. Hanuman, Ali and Kohinoor reach the Kingdom. Ranbir dangles Amina's freedom if Kohinoor agrees to meet him alone. Kohinoor agrees since Amina sacrificed her own son to save Kohinoor once. Meanwhile Shaili reaches Devpur with Orey. Kohinoor and Ranbir meet and trade insults. Ranbir has chained Amina in a circular cage structure, and unleashes lions on her. The lions are blind and hence cannot be hypnotized by Kohinoor. Turns out the lions are the ones that Kohinoor played with when he was a kid. The lions refuse to attack him or Amina. Ranbir reneges on his promise and attacks Kohinoor with his army. But Ali arrives in time to thwart the attack and rescue Amina and Kohinoor. Ranbir and Suryamani take refuge in a local police station as Ali's forces surround the village. Kohinoor and Ali rescue all the animals in Ranbir's farm and set fire to his opium fields.. Shaili pursues Kohinoor, but he continues to ignore her due to her betrayal. Shaili tries to commit suicide, Kohinoor saves her but is still unconvinced about her proposed love for him. Eventually though Kohinoor relents and reciprocates her love. Meanwhile the village kids have withdrawal symptoms due to lack of opium as Ranbir had them addicted on the stuff. The doctors give up as they have no anesthetics. The only solution is to put all the kids to sleep.. If Kohinoor uses his powers to hypnotize kids, he will loose them, but he does so anyways, as he wants to save the kids of the village. Kohinoor loses his powers (unknown to him, this was all planned by a mole planted by Ranbir) and promptly Ranbir's forces attack. Hanuman is shot and Kohinoor withdraws to save him. Meanwhile Ranbir captures the entire village including Ali and Shaili. Ranbir's mother tells him that marrying Shaili would make him immune to Kohinoor. Shaili uses this to her advantage and drive a rift between Ranbir and his wife existing wife Lady Helen (Kunika). Kohinoor assembles his forces around Ranbir's palace. By the grace of God, Kohinoor retains the love of all animals, who come to his aid during the attack. In the end the animals and Kohinoor defeat Ranbir, rescues Amina, Ali and Shaili.. Kohinoor kills Ranbir by throwing him off the roof.

A village school-teacher gets in disputes with his step-brother and the Police. Teacher Tulsiram is married to Saraswati and has two step-brothers, Advocate Rajaram, and Shankar who is uneducated. When Rajaram returns, Tulsiram wants him to get married to Bindiya, the daughter of Thakur Narayandas, and is displeased when he finds that Rajaram has married Sheena, the daughter of wealthy Advocate Surendranath. Narayandas gets upset after Tulsiram attempts to get Shankar married to Bindiya, and he gives Tulsiram an ultimatum - get Rajaram to marry his daughter - or he will forcibly take over their land and house, which have been mortgaged with him to pay for Rajaram's education. Then Tulsiram gets arrested on charges of Fraud, Theft and Cheating. Shortly thereafter Shankar, too, is arrested for abducting Bindiya and holding her hostage. Bhikni would like Shanichari to also be a Rudaali, but Shanichari eyes are always dry. When Bhikni is called for a day in another town, it is then Shanichari receives word that Ram Avtar is no more and she is called to be a Rudaali. As Jasbir's mother belongs to a nomed caste, the hero's love for the bride of the impotent barber Nika is fraught with problems. Symbolically, the building of Jasbir's father's tomb and then of his own tomb hastens jasbir's physical deterioration and death.

Din Dayal Sharma works as a Head Clerk and lives with his wife, Godavari; 3 sons Vijay, his wife Uma; Shiva and Vidyasagar; and a daughter named Rajni. Their standard of living is middle-class and all three males contribute to this lifestyle with Vijay contributing the most as he is a Chartered Accountant. When the time comes for Rajni's marriage, she refuses to marry Jagmohan's son, and wants to marry a Christian by the name of Peter Fernandes. Then he wants her to get married to a motor mechanic, Prakash, who, in turn of events, ends up being the only son of wealthy builder, Jayant Amar Nath, and ends up getting married to his sweetheart and neighbor, Rosy. Finally Nisha meets her ideal match in Rukhtapur-based Suraj Singh, a wedding singer/dancer, and gets married to him - not realizing that Suraj is not who he claims to be and she is merely a pawn in a charade that has been created especially to pull wool over her eyes. One day while Sagar and Jaideep are out at a stag party, Neha's house is broken into, and a man named Vikramjit attempts to kill her, but instead ends up getting killed by her. The Police are summoned by Jaideep, who find the letter from Sagar in Vikramjit's pocket. As a result Neha is arrested, tried in Court, and sentenced to death under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. Kalpana (Rekha) is a young woman with a compulsive tendency to lie, often using her fabrications for what she perceives as benevolent outcomes, such as helping others in distress or facilitating positive changes in her family's life. She lives with her elder brother Kamal (Amol Palekar), a strict police inspector who frequently warns her that her deceptions will eventually lead to serious trouble, her younger sister Alpana (Prema Narayan), and their mother Shanti (Shammi) in a middle-class household. Despite Kamal's admonitions, Kalpana continues her pranks and white lies, believing they serve a greater good. For e.g. Kalpana tells Kamal that his best friend Ranjan has been injured in an accident. Kamal rushes to meet him and finds that his friend is perfectly alright. Kalpana told a lie as Kamal never made time in his busy life to meet his friends. Kalpana's friend wants to complete her education to get a job and contribute towards supporting her home. But she did not have money to pay her fees. So, Kalpana mortgaged her gold chain to pay for her fees and told Kamal that her chain had been stolen. Later, her friend gets the money from her brother and returns the chain, but meets Kamal instead, to whom she narrates the whole story. Kamal is investigating a local drug gang who is supplying drugs to the betel leave shops in the area. Kamal raids the establishment of Babulal (Goga Kapoor) who is a mafia don of the area. A man named Sunil runs away from the raid and turns out he is the brother of Dr Anil Gupta. Professor Puri is the family elder friend of Kamal and Kalpana. Professor Puri congratulates Kamal on his raid and wants to know how he knew where to conduct the raid. Kamal conveniently dodges the question and does not divulge his sources. Puri says that police work is too dangerous and encourages him to take on a different line of work as he has 2 sisters to marry and a widow mother to take care of. Kamal harbors feelings for their neighbor Seema (Supriya Pathak), a kind-heart woman living with her mother (Dina Pathak), but struggles to express them due to his reserved nature. Kalpana fabricates scenarios to bring them together, including staging chance encounters and exaggerating compliments to boost Kamal's confidence. Meanwhile, Alpana works at a travel agency and is secretly in love with her customer Rasiklal (Deven Verma), a humorous but somewhat bumbling man. However, their mother arranges Alpana's marriage to the respectable Dr. Anil Gupta (Raj Babbar) to secure her future. To sabotage this alliance and allow Alpana to pursue Rasiklal, Kalpana spreads false rumors claiming Dr. Gupta is untrustworthy and has a questionable character, successfully halting the wedding plans. Kalpana tells Shanti that she had once gone to Dr Anil for an ankle sprain and he ended up sexually harassing her. Dr Anil considered Seema as his sister and her mother as his own mother. Seema finds out about Kalpana's story and confronts Anil. Anil is adamant that nothing of the sort happened between them. Anil meets Seema's mother and tells her the same and says that Kalapana is lying as he has never even seen her. Kalpana is proven to be a liar when Seema's mother introduces Anil to Kalpana, and she does not recognize him. When Kamal confronts Kalpana, she says that Alpana loves someone else and hence she had to resort to lies to break her match with Dr Anil. Kamal meets Rasik, without telling him that he is Alpana's brother, and tells him to meet Alpana's family to ask for her hand in marriage. Kamal then tells Kalpana and Alpana that he has selected a boy to marry Alpana who is coming to meet her. Alpana is devastated and Kalpana decides to intervene. She gets a neighborhood kid and gets him to say that he is Alpana's son. Kalpana intercepts Rasik, without knowing that he is Alpana's Rasik and tells him that Alpana was married once earlier and had 2 kids from that union. Rasik runs away. When Alpana meets Rasik later that day, she realizes that it was Rasik who Kamal had selected as her groom. Kalpana sprains her ankle in a sports competition at college and ends up going to a clinic without realizing that it belongs to Anil. Ironically, when Kalpana meets Dr. Gupta to apologize for her slander, she develops genuine romantic feelings for him, leading to her own courtship filled with initial misunderstandings stemming from her earlier lies. Kalpana tells Anil that she only told a lie as Alpana loved another man. Kalpana organizes a picnic where she gets to spend time with Anil, Kamal with Seema and Rasik with Alpana. Later, Kalpana goes to meet Anil at his house and ends up meeting Sunil who she witnesses consuming drugs in his room. Kalpana confronts Sunil but then protects his secret in front of Anil. Sunil is embarrassed and decides to give up drugs. Complications escalate when Dr. Gupta's younger brother Sunil becomes entangled in a dangerous drug trafficking operation run by a criminal gang masquerading as academics, led by a figure posing as a professor. Puri (Madan Puri). Puri realizes that Sunil knows Kalpana and hence Kamal. He figures that Sunil is the mole in their organization due to which the police have been able to raid all their dens. Puri asks Babulal to eliminate Sunil and Kalpana. In a bid to save Kalpana, Sunil murders one of Babulal's henchmen. Kamal investigates the murder and arrests Sunil. Sunil (Rasik Dave) gets framed for a related murder, prompting Dr. Gupta to seek help from Kamal. Desperate to protect her newfound love and his family, Kalpana testifies in court with a fabricated story to exonerate Sunil. Kalpana says that on the day of the murder, Sunil was with her at a holiday resort for the entire day and night. Dr. Gupta believes the worst about Kalpana's chastity and her entire family turns against her. The situation worsens as the drug gang, seeking revenge for the interference, kidnaps Kalpana to silence her. Kamal leverages his police resources, with assistance from Dr. Gupta and Rasiklal, to track down and rescue Kalpana from the gang's hideout in a tense confrontation that exposes the criminals' operations. The rescue succeeds, leading to the arrest of the traffickers and Sunil's full vindication. As the dust settles, the accumulated lies are unraveled through honest confessions: Kalpana admits her deceptions were rooted in good intentions to support her loved ones, earning forgiveness from Kamal, who reflects on how her actions ultimately benefited everyone despite the chaos. The romantic entanglements resolve happily. Kamal marries Seema, Alpana weds Rasiklal, and Kalpana unites with Dr. Gupta, affirming that while truth is ideal, compassionate lies can sometimes pave the way for positive outcomes.

Then Professor Lalwani's sister-in-law, Sudha Advani, is abducted, sexually assaulted, and killed. The killer, identified as Suresh Thakur, is arrested, tried in Court, and acquitted after he proves that he was in Delhi at the time of incident. Niloufer is divorced by Nawab Wasim (Deepak Parasher), a debonair, workacholic and self centred man. Afaque, a publisher of Urdu poetry is single while keeping the flame of his love for Niloufer alive in his heart. The story takes us through details of Sharia (muslim) law regarding divorce and remarriage. Niloufer habitually keeps a diary, which proves to be her undoing. Does she still love her her ex-husband? On her birthday she receives a present from her doting husband, a present that is so utterly unexpected and an utterly selfless sacrifice.
