Vijay and Ravi, two best friends do well in life and fall in love. Unfortunately, both of them fall in love with the same girl. Fate has it that, love leads to major misunderstanding between the two best friend.

Rajesh Narain lives a poor lifestyle in a small town in British India along with his brother, Brijesh, Bhabi, and a niece, Munni. He even spurns Kamini, who ends up getting married to a man of her dad's choice. After serving a jail sentence Ajit redeems himself with honest work in a village. There he falls in love with a village belle Anju and decides to save her community from a dacoit.

They are pleased with this alliance, and arrangements are made for Ajay's mom, Gayetridevi to visit them and approve of Asha, which is done. Subsequently, Ajay and Asha are married, and settle down. Asha is expected to give birth to a baby boy as a heir to the Singh family. Unfortunately, she is unable to do so, and even worse -loses her eye-sight and becomes dependent on Ajay.
