A series of murders happen in an Engineering college located in a forest area. Arul and his friends attempt to unravel the mystery and find the motive behind these killings.

The story of Bhaskar Oru Rascal is based on the lives of single parents (played by Arvind Swamy and Amala Paul) and their kids who are friends at school. Sila Nerangalil is the Tamil debut of the National Award winning director Jayaraj.
