Nandu, a small-time thief, is assigned to smuggle an unknown packet for a petty amount. With the police pursuing him, Nandu has to elude them and deliver the packet on time. Notorious gangster asks a career thief by the name of Nandu to steal a package worth over one crore rupees for a fee, which Nandu does so. Things do not go as planned, when Nandu finds out that the package is worth more than twice the amount, he refuses to hand over the package to Pinky, until he raises his fees. An enraged Pinky instructs his men to locate Nandu, find the package and bring it back, and thereafter kill Nandu. While on the run from Pinky's gangsters, the police find out that Nandu was involved in this theft, and they launch a man-hunt. Janki Kapoor (Nutan) and her two sons Ravi Kapoor (Kumar Gaurav) and Vicky Kapoor (Sanjay Dutt) come from a poor family, and have difficulties making ends meet. To add to this burden, the family has to content with the waywardness of Vicky Kapoor, who is always getting into trouble with the law. Ravi, on the other hand, is a hard-working, responsible son of Janki`s who earns for the family, but also makes sacrifices for Vicky. Vicky is determined to get a job in Dubai as he has heard of thousands of Indians making a successful living there. Ravi arranges for his visa and the money to go to Dubai. Once in Dubai, the Kapoors receive no word from him, and eventually give up on him. Vicky has encountered problems in Dubai, as he was cheated out of a job and his visa was obtained fraudulently. In order to remain in Dubai, he must work for ruthless international smuggler Rana (Paresh Rawal), and must earn his keep or be turned over to the authorities. This movie also tell the bond relation between Indian and Pakistani people.

A young boy lives with his sister away from his mother to study in school. However, he is neither fond of the school nor his new home and decides to run away to be with his mother.

Desperate to earn money to support his extended family, Mohan becomes entangled in a web of deceit when he tells a lie in order to obtain a secretarial job in the city with the wealthy Mr Rai. This leads Mohan to lead a double life to hide the truth from the people concerned.

A doctor doing research on cancer treatment faces challenges when he first loses his wife, and then his vision. Dr. Ravi returns from abroad and takes up position as Chief Surgeon in a hospital. He then meets with Nurse Shanti, who lives an impoverished lifestyle with her ailing mother, and decides to perform surgery, but she passes away, and a guilt-ridden Ravi marries Shanti much to the chagrin of his mentor, Kaka, who had hoped that he would marry his daughter, Rajni. The couple then travel to Kashmir for their honey-moon, and then settle down to a harmonious relationship. Hoping to travel even more, their plans are interrupted by the hospital's head doctor, who wants Ravi to focus on cancer research. The couple drop all travel plans and immerse themselves in research so much so that Shanti herself becomes ill, and not wanting to become a burden, leaves. A frantic Ravi searches high and low in vain, and is subsequently devastated to learn that she has perished in a train accident. Kaka then becomes very ill and Kaki tells Ravi that the cause of his illness is Rajni's insistence that she not marry anyone except Ravi. As a result, Ravi marries her but is unable to get Shanti out of his mind. An embittered Rajni feels neglected and decides to confront him - resulting in his losing his vision - perhaps never to see again - and unable to do any further cancer research.

A criminal young man decides to reform himself for a left away widowed woman. But their relationship faces challenges. Circumstances have made Shaka a career criminal. When plague empties a town of its inhabitants, he takes the opportunity to burgle a house. He finds nothing except Shanti, a widowed daughter-in-law who has been left to die by her cruel relatives. Shaka nurses her back to health. When her relatives return they are not pleased to find her alive and even less pleased to discover that someone has tried to rob them. Shanti gets the blame and a beating. Shaka saves her from worse, at the hands of brother-in-law, and the pair flee. They set up home in Shaka's house, much to the displeasure of the respectable neighbours who are all too ready to think the worst. Shanti's relatives are dismayed when a lawyer arrives to announce that Shanti has been left a legacy. They hatch a plot to get her back. Meanwhile, Shaka's rehabilitation is proceeding - much to the chagrin of his former criminal associates. Fire and redemption for some, death and handcuffs for others is what fate has in store. —van Goethem Widowed Shanti lives with her wealthy but parsimonious father-in-law, Jeevan Ram; her mother-in-law, who is cruel and beats her black and blue; and an unmarried brother-in-law, Kalicharan, who would like to have a sexual relationship with her. When the town is over-run with plague, the family takes all their wealth, and leaves an ailing Shanti at the mercy of the disease. Unable to move or take care of herself, Shanti knows now that her end is near. Then a thief, Shaaka alias Shakti Singh, breaks into the house, looking for jewelery and cash. When he searches the house from top to bottom and is unable to find anything of value, he hears Shanti coughing, and goes up to her room, hears about her plight, brings the local doctor, Alopinath, ensures that she takes her medication, and when she is able to walk, takes her with him to his house. It is then Shanti finds out that despite his civility, he is feared and hated by the local townspeople - and it is then she realizes that she may have jumped from the proverbial frying pan into the fire as Shaaka is not likely to let go of her anytime soon. A scholar is compelled to live up to his astrological prophecy of being a brutal killer. Born on an inauspicious occasion in the household of Rajpurohit and his wife, the Rajjyotish predicts that this child will grow up to be a brutal killer. The region's Maharaja is asked to have the child killed but he cannot do so until and unless a crime has been committed. A number of elders, including Archarya, decide to impart positive thoughts and learning in him, as well name him Ahinsak (non-violent). He then departs to live in the Gurukool along with three other children, Maruti, Dhanpal, and Krishna. Ahinsak impresses everyone both in studies and sports. Years later, Archarya may be forced to take back his words when he finds Ahinsak has broken rules to stay away overnight with Rajkumari Mayadevi, without permission. The Archarya misgivings will gather more ground when Ahinsak gets into a fight with Maruti and injures him badly. As if that were not enough, he again breaks the rules and is punished. But the worst is yet to come when Archaya will be told that his wife, Gurumata, may be having an affair with his pupil, as well the discovery of the dead body of Dhanpal - the first of many victims that are fated to be slain by Ahinsak - who will now acquire a new name - Angulimaal - a man who first slays his victims then cuts their fingers off and wears them around his neck.
