Tulasi is a story of Parvataneni Tulasi Ram aka Tulasi (Venkatesh) who is sent by his father to Hyderabad to keep him away from the factional feuds in his native place, Palnadu. He later realises that his son has a brain clot that is fatal. He summons doctors from abroad to get him treated. Just on the day of operation, his son is kidnapped by gangsters. He saves his son by killing the gangsters. Realising that violence is a neccesary evil that saved her son`s life, Vasu comes back to them.

Bhavani is at loggerheads with Surya and wants to see his end; as he gets a big share of the property they were fighting for. Bhavani's sister falls for Surya which invites more trouble for Bhavani.

Arjun Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) and Pyare Mohan (Govinda) are police inspectors. They share a friendly bond. Arjun's sister, Seema (Raveena Tandon), is in love with Pyare. Arjun has no female companion and some petty comments are made about his age. Zorawar (Paresh Rawal) runs a business smuggling arms and diamonds, under a cover of being a statue maker. Once, in a hotel, he discovers that he is being spied upon and along with the cop spying on him, he wants to gets rid of Madhu (Divya Dutta), an eyewitness but she escapes. Madhu heads straight to the police station and gives her statement to Arjun and Pyare. Pyare drops her home. That night Zorawar attacks Madhu inside her home. Madhu's friend, Neha (Ramya Krishnan), witnesses Madhu's murder. Scared, and with the gangsters after her, she calls the police station and asks for Pyare, but since he is not there, Arjun is asked to go to her, and masquerade as Pyare, who had been described as a very good person to Neha by her dead friend. In a considerable amount of confusion, he takes her to Pyare's house and even gets to the extent of asking Pyare to masquerade as Arjun. For a few days Arjun decides to stay at Pyare's apartment, as Pyare. While Pyare is asked to stay at Arjun's house to protect his family. Arjun starts to fall in love with Neha. Zorawar and his men attack Neha, but Arjun and Pyare team up to rescue her, but Zorawar manages to escape. Neha runs into Seema at a mall and it emerges that they both love Pyare. They complain to the police commissioner and it emerges that Arjun was being Pyare to Neha to gain her trust. Two petty thieves, Bade Miyan (Amitabh Bachchan) and Chote Miyan (Govinda), who are look-alike of Arjun and Pyare respectively, arrive in town. Confusion ensue when every crime the crooks commit are blamed on Arjun and Pyare. Things goes further downhill when Shyamlal (Anupam Kher), the police commissioner, is also thrashed by the doubles (Shyamlal had found Bade and Chote in a red light area and was stopping them as he thought they were Arjun and Pyare. Bade and Chote thrashed him badly). Arjun and Pyare are blamed for messing up security operation of Madhuri Dixit (herself). Arjun and Pyare are asked to meet Madhuri to register an underworld complaint, but Bade and Chote meet her accidentally and are taken for Arjun/Pyare. Both are kicked when they both proposition Madhuri for marriage. Even Seema and Neha mistake Bade and Chote for Arjun and Pyare. Neha finds Bade at the jewelers (where he has just been handed the necklace that Arjun ordered for Seema's Bday) and brings him home. Chote follows him home. Arjun reaches the Jewellers later and finds the necklace is missing. Later Bade and Chote realize that they are copy cats of 2 police officers. They are deputed by commissioner to protect the other half of the Kohinoor diamond which is on display in India in a museum. When Chote and Bade find out, they pose as police to inspect the museums security under office Hamak Jaykar (Asrani). Hamak shows Chote and Bade all security measures and ways to defeat it. Arjun and Pyare are directly blamed for the theft. Zorawar wanted to smuggle this diamond and hence is pissed when the news of theft is published. Arjun and Pyare further land in trouble when Zorawar kidnaps Seema and asks for the diamond and Neha in return. Zorawar confronts Bade and Chote for the return of the diamond and parade Seema in front of them. Bade and Chote want to buy time and agree to bring Neha to him and leave the diamond with Zorawar to keep Seema safe. Arjun and Pyare, who have been arrested, are saved by the arrival of Bade and Chote, and promise to get Neha and Seema back. Bade and Chote arrive at Zorawar's hideout and stall them while Arjun and Pyare come with police force and everyone at the hideout is arrested. The crooks leave after apologizing to Neha and Seema for the confusion. However, some of Zorawar's men hijack the police van which is taking Zorawar and his associates to jail. They are stopped on the way by Bade and Chote, asking for a lift. The latter realizes who really are in the van and proceed to badly thrash Zorawar and his men and return him to jail. Arjun and Pyare are criticized for their mistake regarding the hijacking of the van and the two crooks are given a job in the police force by the commissioner himself. The film ends with Arjun and Pyare ending up being demoted to the post of traffic police officers and Bade and Chote taking their place as police inspectors.

This story revolves around Malhar Gopaldas Agnihotri, a out-of-work actor, poor, and dependent on his father, who is heading for retirement. They travel to the small town where Chaubey was born, and meet with Gopi. Gopi and Madhubala take an instant liking to each other, and get married. While Chaubey approves of this marriage, Lily does not. Lily gets together with Vikram and sets about to plot separating the newly married couple. She may not ply her skills as they are incompatible in every possible way, and may not need any help from anyone outside in order to break up this marriage.

Misra escapes and takes one of the twins with him, hurting Geetha. Chakravarthy pursues him but is unable to find the child and shoots Misra. The child is saved by the other twins due to their reflection mentality, and a female laborer witnesses it. The child is taken by her husband, and they adopt him, while already having a daughter. One day, in an accident at a construction place, the couple is killed. As a result, the two children become orphans. As they grow up, one of the twins, Deva, becomes a thief for earning along with his friend Kasi another orphan. On the other hand, Geetha goes into a coma, and Chakravarthy takes her to America for the cure, where the other twin, Ravi Varma is brought up. He returns to India as a rock star to give performances. He is received by Chakravarthy's friend, who wishes to marry his daughter Manga to him, but Manga is in love with Deva. At the airport, Ravi Varma falls for Ooha, the daughter of Akkamamba, who is organizing his programs. Simhachalam, Akkamamba's brother, also wishes to marry Ooha. Meanwhile, at home, Manga advances with Ravi, thinking he is Deva. One day in a restaurant, they see each other and find that they are identical, which leads to humorous misunderstandings. Meanwhile, Deva's sister Kasthuri witnesses a ruthless don and flutist Mitra, the son of Misra, who murdered an inspector on the road for refusing to stay corrupt and providing evidence against him in court. Enraged, Mitra attempts to rape her, and Deva fights with him, so Mitra wants to take revenge against Deva. He sends his henchman as the groom to Kasthuri, but Deva breaks up the plan and makes his sister's marriage to another man. Deva obtains all pieces of evidence detailing Mitra's crimes and gets him jailed. Later, the court decides on the death sentence for Mitra. As months pass, Kasthuri becomes pregnant and is admitted to the hospital for delivery. Deva asks Ravi to stay at the hospital as he is going in search of money. Ravi visits his father Chakravarthy. At the same time, Mitra escapes from jail, comes to the hospital to kidnap Kasthuri, recognizes Chakravarthy as the one who killed his father, and also gets to know that Deva is his son. Mitra blackmails Deva to get Chakravarthy to release Kasthuri. Deva, who does not know that Chakravarthy is his father, goes to his house where Geetha also comes out from the coma by Deva's touch and he discovers that they are his parents. Finally, Deva and Ravi join, protect their father and sister, and bring Mitra to justice. The story ends with the duo marrying their respective love interests.

Some turn of events draws Mohanlal into the underworld and he becomes the trusted aide of the ageing don Kareem (Goga Kapoor). Ramya Krishnan, who is working for the same gang, gets closer to Mohanlal. Jhonny, from the same gang, joins hands together with rival don ( Sharat Saxena ) and Kareem's son and daughter-in-law, Monisha are killed leaving Kareem on a path towards religion and leaving all underworld business. Sharat Saxena plans to leave Bombay, but Mohanlal gets him arrested. Later he proves his innocence to his father. But that time Sharat Saxena killed Ramya Krishnan. In climax, Mohanlal killed the villain. —arun Mohanlal plays a Brahmin priest who is falsely accused of theft and forced to leave his village in Kerala. He moves to Bombay where he gets drawn into the underworld through an ageing don Kareem (Goga Kapoor). Some interesting comment initially on Brahmin priesthood in Kerala, but halfway through the film goes haywire. Beware of a completely unnecessary added plot in the last half hour. —Joyojeet Pal

Per Sollum Pillai has Kamal Haasan, Ramu as an orphan, who is adopted by a wealthy family. He gets adopted into the family when he saves the entire family from being deliberately poisoned by a miscreant. Rajalakshmi, the mother of the family, raises him as one of the family even though others outside the family see him as a servant. Ramu helps to run the family smoothly and looks after his step-parents, brothers and sisters like his own. Kamal intervenes whenever his step-brothers attempt to commit mischief in the family and thwarts all their plans. He tries to advise them to be resourceful but they hate him for that. A smuggler becomes an enemy to the family when Ramu intervenes and stop in getting his step sister married to the smugglers son. The smuggler kills Rajalakshmi in a climax scene and Kamal tries to save the others. Years later, Rau believes his daughter is a reincarnation of his step mother and lives happily ever after.
