Bowen (Dennis Quaid), a Knight of the "Old Code" of honor, valor and chivalry, tutoring his young protege, Einon (Lee Oakes) in both swordplay and the values of a knight. Einon is the king's son and heir to the throne. Brok (Brian Thompson), leader of the armies of King Freyne (Peter Hric). Brok tells Einon of a peasant rebellion, and King Freyne wants Einon to witness it being crushed. Bowen tells Einon to remember the difference between battle and butchery. (During the battle, a caption says the movie takes place in England in the year 984 A.D.) In battle Einon is separated from Bowen. King Freyen is killed & then Einon fatally wounded in a accident when a young girl (Sandra) pushes Einon into a pike, driving it into his chest. Einon's mother, Queen Aislinn (Julie Christie) orders only Bowen to be with her & Einon. As Aislinn examines her son's wound, Bowen says Einon is beyond all help. Aislinn looks at a small statue of a dragon and says, "Not all." Aislinn takes Einon & Bowen to a mountain cave where a dragon appears. He is reluctant to help, but Aislinn convinces him that Einon is not a butcher like Freyen & will grow up to be a fine leader. dragon insists that Einon swear to all this himself. Einon swears. Dragon opens a chest plate and removes half his heart, placing it in Einon's chest. As Einon wakes up, he commands the boy to do as he promised. Aislinn kneels before the dragon in gratitude, and Bowen promises to repay the favor any way he can, any time in the future when the dragon might need him. But Einon grows up to be as cruel as his father. He crushes the peasant rebellion, captures their leader Readbeard & orders his eyes to be burnt out. Bowen intervenes but is insulted by Einon. Bowen goes to the Dragon & yells that his gift has corrupted Einon & that now Bowen would spend the rest of his life in hunting the dragon & to kill him. 12 yrs later Bowen is a Dragon hunting mercenary. Brother Gilbert is a monk who finds Bowen on one of his hunting travels. Lord Felton is Einon's minion & keeps track of Bowen & provides him money for killing the dragon in service of the King. Bowen only accepts as he needs funds to keep his horse & equipment. Meanwhile Redbeard, now old, blind, and feeble, is working in a quarry, & has daughter, Kara (Dina Meyer). Einon, now a grown adult, kills Redbeard, just for fun & leaves her to grieve. Gilbert travels with Bowen to write poetry for his dragon slayer. They discover another dragon (voiced by Sean Connery). Bowen moves forward through the falls to kill the dragon, but it escapes. Soon, they come to an empty field. The dragon scoops Bowen into his mouth where Bowen stabs his sword into the dragon's palate. Both stuck, they come to an impasse and remain that way for a number of hours. The dragon has had enough; he pushes Bowen out of his mouth and traps him under his claws. Instead of killing Bowen, the dragon offers an alternative which would be beneficial for both of them. The dragon terrorizes the villages which allows Bowen to offer protection for a fee. Bowen then "kills" the dragon in mock battle. The dragon claims he is the last of his kind. Aislinn is disgusted at Einon, who just manages to evade an assassination attempt by Kara, who is imprisoned. Then Einon realizes that Kara is the girl who pushed him into the pike that led to his dragon heart. Einon is indebted to Kara for this. Einon has sex with Kara, who mockingly attacks him with a knife. As it slashes Einon, the dragon winces in pain. There is link between the dragon & Einon. Dragon doesn't tell Bowen what that link is. Bowen decides to call the Dragon Draco. Aislinn helps Kara escape from Einon's bedroom. She heads back to her village trying to entice another rebellion but is rebuffed by senior villager Hewe. Draco appears & pretends to attack & Bowen arrives to offer protection. Kara accuses him of blackmail. Bowen uses the village's hatred for her & suggest a sacrifice to the dragon. Draco finds the idea disgusting & flies off with Kara, pretending he is appeased. Kara realizes Draco & Bowen are working together. Thats when Einon arrives at the scene & challenges Bowen to battle. Einon says that he made no promises to Bowen & Bowen is disgusted that Einon is as treacherous as his father. Bowen is distracted & Einon defeats Bowen & is about to stab him when Draco intervenes & exposes his chest & reveals his half heart. Einon flees. Kara wants Bowen to lead the rebellion against Einon, but he refuses. Kara exposes Bowen & Draco in front of the villager in their next scam by proving they are working together. The villagers are about to kill them when Draco flies away with Kara, Bowen & Gilbert to Avalon (resting place of King Arthur). At Avalon Draco says that he is the dragon that gave Einon half his heart and he did so knowing that Einon would betray all the vows he made. To gain entry into the dragon heaven he needs to redeem himself. He is keen to help Bowen lead the rebellion. Despondent and having lost faith in the Old Code, Bowen refuses. Bowen then sees a vision at the statue of King Arthur who recites the creed of the Old Code. Bowen repeats the words and is filled with a new sense of purpose, reminded of all that he once swore himself to. Draco appears, smiling, and shields Bowen from the rain with one of his wings. Back at Kara's home village, he tells the people that he is starting a war against Einon, and when they see that he has the support of a dragon, they are all moved to rebellion. The men are trained by Bowen to fight and even Brother Gilbert proves to be a master archer. Brok comes across the village & sees them training with Draco & tells Einon. Aislinn comes to Einon and presents him with a gift... a team of five of the finest dragon slayers in the land. Bowen & the villagers attack Einon's castle. Draco attacks from the air & takes out the castle's defenses. Einon comes out with his army & walks into a trap laid by Bowen where Gilbert & Kara lead the villagers to ambush Einon's army. Gilbert shoots an arrow right through Einon's heart which drops Draco from the sky & is captured by the dragon slayers. Suddenly Einon spurs his horse and races to the castle, orders the dragon slayers not to kill Draco... he wants him alive, and safe..."for all eternity". Draco moans, "Oh... no." Kara leads Bowen & Gilbert into the castle through the secret passage that Aislinn made her escape from. Bowen & Einon battle. Gilbert battles Felton & defeats him while Kara kills the overconfident Brok. Aislinn visits Draco, who knows that she is there to kill him. The hit he took from the arrow helped Einon figure out that his life is tied to Draco's and that as long as Draco lives, Einon is virtually immortal, but if Draco was killed, Einon would die as well. Aislinn explains that she made a mistake years ago when she "saved a creature not worth saving". Einon, kills Aislinn. Einon comes across Bowen, and they battle their way up onto the parapets as Kara watches. Einon breaks Bowen's sword. As Bowen swings away from Einon on a pulley, Einon loses his balance and plunges off the parapet, breaking through a wooden walkway into the bottom of the castle. Bowen reaches Draco and starts to unchain him, and Draco reveals the final piece of the puzzle...through the shared heart, he and Einon share each other's physical pain, but Draco's half holds the life force, and he must die in order to vanquish Einon. Bowen has come to respect and admire Draco too much and cannot bring himself to kill his friend. But Einon appears, bloody but alive, grabbing Kara from behind and putting his sword to her neck. Draco bites hard on his own hand and Einon feels the pain and is forced to drop his sword. Kara pulls away from him, and Einon draws a dagger and rushes at Bowen. In a tense moment, Bown seems unsure until Draco gives him a reassuring smile, pulling back his chest plate. Bowen hurls Kara's ax into Draco's heart. Einon gasps and collapses in shock as Draco smiles at Bowen one last time before peacefully dying. Kara, Brother Gilbert, and the victorious villagers gather around the body of Draco where Bowen is mourning his passing, not knowing who or where to turn to for inspiration. Then he hears Draco's voice telling him to look to the stars. Draco's body dissipates into a rolling ball of reddish light that slowly ascends into the skies, heading toward the constellation that Bowen named him after. The other stars gather around Draco's soul-- the collective of dragons welcoming the last of their kind home. Bowen smiles as he sees that Draco has redeemed himself and gained entry into his heaven.

Rick is under the FBI witness protection program and calls his liaison Lou Baird, but the corrupt agent Joe Weyburn answers the phone call and tells that Lou has retired. Rick tells that has been recognized and Weyburn tells him to wait for a further contact. While returning to the hotel after the meeting, Graves parks the car nearby the gas station and witnesses Sorenson and Diggs trying to kill Rick. She helps him to escape with a shot in the butt and he spends the night in her hotel suite. In Corpus Christi, Texas, teenagers Billie Jean Davy (Helen Slater) and her younger brother Binx (Christian Slater) drive to a lake, and while they swim, a bully named Hubie Pyatt (Barry Tubb) and his gang steals Binx's motorbike. Billie Jean reports the theft to police, but Lieutenant Ringwald (Peter Coyote) tells her to wait two days for Hubie to return it on his own before he gets involved. Billie Jean goes home and finds the damaged scooter, and her brother bloody and beaten after retrieving the bike himself. Billie Jean visits Hubie at his father's surf shop, and gives him a $608 bill for damages. Hubie's father, Mr. Pyatt (Richard Bradford), agrees to give Billie Jean the money, but when he gets her alone, he gives her only $50, and tries to assault her. Binx and their neighbor Ophelia (Martha Gehman) wait outside for Billie Jean. When she takes too long, they enter the empty shop, and Binx opens the register, planning to take the money he is owed, but instead finds a gun. When Billie Jean runs into the room with Pyatt chasing after her, Binx points the gun at him and demands his sister's release. Hubie enters the shop and his father falsely accuses Billie Jean and Binx of attempted robbery, and tells Hubie to call police. Pyatt walks toward Binx and tells him the gun is not loaded. Binx checks the chamber for bullets, and the gun accidentally goes off, shooting Pyatt in the chest. The teens flee, and Billie Jean wants to go to the police, but Ophelia insists they will not believe their story. Instead, they return home, pack a few items, and go on the run, with their young neighbor, Putter (Yeardley Smith), tagging along. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Ringwald learns that Billie Jean and Binx were involved in a robbery, and blames himself for not properly handling their initial complaint. The teens listen to news of the shooting on the radio, but are not sure if Pyatt is alive. When they stop for food at a gas station, some teenagers approach Billie Jean with her picture in the newspaper and ask for her autograph. They buy the runaways some groceries, and treat them as heroes. Billie Jean and Binx are relieved to learn that Pyatt is in good condition. Billie Jean telephones Lt. Ringwald and the fugitives agree to turn themselves in, on the condition that Pyatt pay the $608 they are owed. Billie Jean agrees to meet Ringwald the following day at a shopping mall. Her photograph is posted around town, and she develops a following among her peers. Pyatt refuses to pay the money, so Ringwald donates his own $608 to make things right, and Pyatt gives Billie Jean the money, as if it came from him. At the hand-off, Pyatt continues to sexually threaten Billie Jean, and has Hubie attempt to grab her. She runs away as Hubie and Ringwald's officers chase after. Ringwald is furious with Pyatt, and tries to help the teens, but Binx points a toy gun at the Lieutenant before they drive away. On the run again, Billie Jean's legend grows. The runaways seek food and shelter in what they think is in empty mansion. While exploring, Billie Jean enters a room full of Halloween decorations, and the homeowner's son, Lloyd Muldaur (Keith Gordon), playfully sneaks up on her wearing a mask. She kicks him, and he removes the mask to reveal he is her age. Lloyd recognizes the "outlaws," and welcomes them into his home. They watch the television news and hear untrue stories being spread about them. On another channel, Billie Jean sees a movie about Joan of Arc. Lloyd regales the story of how she was a hero who sacrificed herself, and Billie Jean becomes inspired. She instructs Lloyd to get a video camera prepared so she can record a message. Billie Jean cuts off her long blonde hair in the short style of Joan of Arc, puts on a colored wet suit with the sleeves ripped off, and records a message claiming her innocence. The teens leave so they do not get Lloyd into trouble, but he suggests they use him as a hostage to get their demands met. Billie Jean sneaks her videotaped message into the police station and on television. In the video, she demands Pyatt pay her the $608 for the scooter repair claiming, "fair is fair," and her supporters begin using the phrase as a slogan. Ringwald investigates Lloyd's home and surmises the teens are working together. Lloyd's wealthy father Mr. Muldaur (Dean Stockwell) offers $10,000 for his son's safe return, but Lloyd is insulted at the bargain-basement ransom amount. Pyatt sells T-shirts and souvenirs with Billie Jean's name and image on them. While her friends are in a store, children approach Billie Jean and ask her to help their friend, Kenny, who is being abused by his father. They lead her to Kenny's home, and when Billie Jean enters, the boy's father recognizes her from the news, and sees the large group of children gathered outside his window. He allows his son to leave with Billie Jean, and she announces to her followers that Kenny will be moving in with his grandmother. As the teens drive away, a local man shoots at them, hoping to capture Billie Jean for the reward money. He chases the teenagers down city streets and shoots their tire, before his own truck flips over. The teens rest for the night and discuss going to Vermont, where Binx has long dreamed of visiting. Lloyd advises they stay in town to clear their names, and kisses Billie Jean. To prevent Ophelia and Putter from getting into trouble, Billie Jean waits until the girls are asleep, and reports their whereabouts to Ringwald. Binx, Lloyd and Billie Jean make their way to a country club and discuss stealing a vehicle, but Billie Jean does not want to commit yet another crime. However, Binx attempts to steal an automobile, and is chased by security guards. The teens become separated, and Billie Jean is offered a ride by a girl sporting her same short hairstyle. Elsewhere, Ringwald questions Ophelia and Putter at the police station, and several girls with short hair turn themselves in, claiming to be Billie Jean. Meanwhile, Billie Jean gets a series of rides from several look-alikes. She goes to an abandoned carnival where she reunites with Binx and Lloyd. Ringwald follows a lead that takes him to their hideout. While they remain hidden, Ringwald shouts out an offer to repair Binx's motorbike and drop the charges if the runaways turn themselves in. Sometime later, Billie Jean telephones the lieutenant and accepts the offer, agreeing to meet at a beach side "Billie Jean Day" event. Ringwald awaits her arrival, and is alarmed that someone has called in snipers. At the exchange, Binx disguises himself as Billie Jean, holding a toy gun to Lloyd's back, while Billie Jean hides in the crowd, wearing a wig. Billie Jean sees a brand new scooter, and confirms that the deal is legitimate. Hubie recognizes Binx, and when Binx waves his gun towards Hubie to quiet him, the snipers shoot Billie Jean's impersonator in the shoulder. Mayhem ensues. Billie Jean slips away unnoticed as she chases after the ambulance carrying her brother. When Billie Jean sees Pyatt selling souvenirs with her image on them, she removes her wig and confronts him. A crowd of onlookers and TV camera crews gather, and Pyatt agrees to give her the money. However, she realizes that Lloyd's father, not Pyatt, paid for the new scooter awaiting her brother, and refuses to accept the offer. Billie Jean insults him and reveals in front of the crowd that he tried to sexually assault her. She kicks him and throws the money in his face. A torch is knocked over and burns his display booth, but no one comes to his aid, and the fire spreads throughout the event. Sometime later, Billie Jean and Binx arrive in wintry, snow-covered Vermont. Binx (with his arm in a sling and recovering from his gunshot wound) claims that the weather is too cold as they continue to hitchhike. Binx sees a snowmobile parked nearby at the rest stop they are at and gets an idea.... implying that he and Billie Jean plan to steal it. Fade out.

This film tells several intertwining stories of the patrons and staff of a fictional Los Angeles disco club 'The Zoo' on one long Friday night. The central characters include: Tony Di Marco (Jeff Goldblum) is the owner of The Zoo. Lecherous and promiscuous, he's inordinately fond of his expensive sports car. Bobby Speed (Ray Vitte) is the club's disk jockey who's broadcasting his first live show from the club. Frannie (Valerie Landsburg) and Jeannie (Terri Nunn) are two high school friends who want to win The Zoo's dance contest to buy KISS concert tickets for themselves. Carl (Paul Jabara) and Ken (John Friedrich) are two best friends who frequent the The Zoo. Carl is a hopelessly near-sighted shlub looking for a casual liaison, while Ken is just looking for a girlfriend. Dave (Mark Lonow) and Sue (Andrea Howard) are a young married couple celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary. Jackie (Marya Small) is another woman who frequents The Zoo. She is a dental hygienist by day, and a pink-haired, a drugged-out disco freak by night. Jennifer (Debra Winger) is the klutzy new girl in town who is taken to the disco by her know-it-all friend Maddy (Robin Menken) who's not as sophisticated as she thinks she is. Nicole Sims (Donna Summer) is an aspiring disco singer hoping to make her debut at the Zoo. Marv Gomez (Chick Vennera) is a self-described "leatherman" who lives to dance. Malcolm Floyd (DeWayne Jessie) is the roadie for The Commodores (appearing as themselves), responsible for delivering their instruments to the club by midnight for their appearance. Gus (Chuck Sacci) and Shirley (Hilary Beane) are a mismatched couple on a blind date. Sue insists her uptight accountant husband Dave take her to the disco after having dinner at a local restaurant despite the fact that it is already 10 PM. On a bet with Bobby, Tony tries to pick up Sue when she and Dave walk into the club. Dejected that some other man is flirting with his wife, Dave ends up drugged and renamed "Babbakazoo" by Jackie, and makes a fool of himself. Carl and Ken are repeatedly thwarted in their attempts to meet girls on the dance floor and the bar. Meanwhile, Frannie and Jeannie trick Marv into helping them sneak into the disco after several failed attempts at gaining entry. Elsewhere, Jennifer tries to meet a guy, but Maddy vetoes each of the guys Jennifer is attracted to. Nicole repeatedly attempts to slip into the DJ booth to get Bobby to play her single. Crude garbage collector Gus is horrified that the dating service has matched him with a prim college educated woman, and one who is taller than he is. Floyd gets stopped repeatedly by the police on suspicion of stealing The Commodores' instruments. Back at the club, Marv teaches the uptight Ken how to dance in the parking lot. Maddy ends up ditching Jennifer to attend a hot tub party (with the same sleazy guys who came on to Jennifer). Gus and Shirley decide to give it a try. They leave the disco together. Carl finally meets a girl at the bar, but gets locked in the stairwell before they can leave together. Meanwhile, Floyd finally makes it to the club in time for the Commodores to play but before they go on, Nicole sneaks up on stage and scores a huge triumph singing "Last Dance". Frannie, after tricking Marv's dance partner (Nanci Hammond) into the locked stairwell, enters the dance contest with Marv. Carl and Marv's dance partner end up hooking up in the stairwell. Jennifer and Ken share a romantic dance, as do Nicole and Bobby. Dave finally comes down from his "acid trip" and Sue ditches Tony to return to her husband. As Tony prepares to leave for the night, his parked car, having taken innumerable hits from pretty much every other character's car, falls apart in the parking lot. At the climax, Marv and Frannie win the big dance contest. Deciding that the KISS concert is "kid stuff," Frannie and Jeannie, now self-proclaimed "disco queens," go with Marv to hit another disco for the 1:00 AM dance contest.

Tracy is a black girl with no financial resources who struggles to be able to afford fashion college. Her goal is to become an internationally famous fashion designer. Tracy, an aspiring designer from the slums of Chicago puts herself through fashion school in the hopes of becoming one of the world's top designers. Her ambition leads her to Rome spurring a choice between the man she loves or her newfound success. —Renee Ann Byrd <byrdie@wyrdbyrd.org> Tracy Chambers is a young, black woman living in run down south Chicago. She works as a secretary to Miss Evans at a downtown department store, while she takes design art classes at night school in a want to become a high fashion designer. Miss Evans allows her to do so on the stipulation that her designer goal not interfere with her work, which is sometimes difficult not to do as she is willing to forgo other things in life to reach that goal. Tracy's boyfriend, Brian Walker, is a neighborhood activist and aspiring politician. Unlike Tracy who wants to leave the neighborhood at any cost, Brian wants to stay to make life better for anyone who has no other option but to live there. Beyond their mutual physical attraction, Brian doesn't much like the vacuous life to which Tracy seems to aspire. While at work, Tracy catches the eye of renowned Rome-based American fashion photographer Sean McAvoy who sees Tracy as model material. Much like her fashion design has gone nowhere in Chicago not being even remotely close to being a major design center, Sean tries to convince her to try modeling in Rome, both seeing her as the next big thing in the industry and in his want to be with her. He also makes no guarantees as she first has to impress the agency boss. Due to circumstances, Tracy does decide to move to Rome, where she does impress and Sean transforms her into a supermodel with the stage name Mahogany. In this new world, Tracy still aspires to design and hopes to use her platform to advertise her own creations, which places her at odds with Sean. Within this new life, she has to decide if Brian still is a part of it, he who wants his woman to stand by him, and who still has issues with her world as a whole. —Huggo
