The Marathi film Kulkarni Chowkat Deshpande is a story of an independent woman Jaya, who is dedicated to her maternal responsibilities, but wants to break out of the orthodox system and do something of her own.

When two divorced parents marry and merge their families, their sons Rahul and Amey struggle to adjust. A trip to the mountains of Ladakh brings simmering tensions to the surface. Jaya divorces her husband and goes to Mumbai she is an MBA graduate and and does well in her profession.She finds love again in Satish and both get married and having kids from their first marriage Rahul and Amey.Things are going well until they go for a vacation in Ladakh,Jaya's son Amey feels lost in new relationship where as Satish son Rahul teases him to change his last name from Deshpande to Kulkarni. —alex.mjacko@gmail.com
