Ajay is an unemployed youth who always gets into trouble because of his temper. He gets enraged when he encounters anyone committing a crime; he takes the law into his own hands, beats them up and then gives them unsolicited advice. Ajay's father Padmanabhan, who works for an insurance firm, is very unhappy with his son's attitude, and tries his best to change his behavior through a meditation expert, but fails in this matter as the expert suggests that Ajay's anguish is reasonable. Ajay meets Sonia Sriram through his father, and she falls in love with him. What Sonia likes about Ajay is his temper and anger when he encounters anything, which is against the law. Sonia gets Padmanabhan's help to get Ajay to love her. Still, Ajay is not interested in her and rejects her at first; but he later changes his mind after going through some unusual situations, and love blossoms between them. Sonia's father, Sriram, is an industrialist who owns the DCM-Daewoo automotive manufacturing facility in Chennai. He has no objection to his daughter's relationship with Ajay, but has one condition: Ajay must become employed in his factory, control his temper for three months, and not get into any fight whatsoever, even if he encounters a crime happening in front of his eyes. If Ajay cannot do this, he will not be allowed to marry Sonia. With a heavy heart, Ajay agrees to the conditions; Sonia's love for Ajay deepens, and Sriram offers Ajay a job in his factory. Sriram actually has his own problems with his factory in a loss; ten of his workers are working with his rival and younger stepbrother Gnaneswar, and they hamper the progress of his factory with frequent, pre-planned mishaps. This leads to the factory's property loss. Gnaneswar is the son of Sriram's stepmother, who gets deceived by Sriram and loses his share of his father's business empire. Further, in unusual circumstances, Gnaneswar spends some years in jail and returns with a planned conspiracy and vengeance on his stepbrother, Sriram. Gnaneswar is now trying to put Sriram out of business, so his ten men create havoc in the factory by killing old workers and raging new workers. So, when Ajay comes to work in Sriram's factory, these ten men do the same to Ajay. Ajay keeps cool, trying to keep his promise to Sriram. But Sriram hopes otherwise; he wants Ajay to break the promise and beat up the ten men and throw them out of the factory. At the same time, Sriram hopes the imminent marriage between Ajay and Sonia will be canceled, since he does not want his daughter to marry an angry street-fighter like Ajay. So, Sriram keeps hoping Ajay will somehow burst out. Gnaneswar's men damage an important machine to make the international Korean experts attend the problem. The plan is to kill those Korean experts so that it would become an international issue and Sriram's company would be locked permanently, but Ajay saves those experts, and Sriram publicizes this to create a fight between Gnaneswar's men and Ajay, but it happens otherwise that Ajay still keeps cool in spite of them beating him black and blue, and Sriram's hopes are dashed. As the last trigger, Sriram uses his father's name in publicizing the issue in the factory to media so that Gnaneswar's men may think that it was Ajay's father who brought this to the media. As expected by Sriram, those ten men brutally murder Ajay's father for this. After this, Ajay becomes furious and breaks his promise and banishes the ten men from the factory. But Gnaneswar holds Ajay and blackmails Sonia that he would kill Ajay unless Sonia kills herself by destroying Sriram's factory by bombarding it with a truck armed with a powerful Russian explosives. In the climax, Gnaneswar kills Sriram by throwing him off the helicopter; Gnaneswar gets killed when his helicopter hits the mountains; and Sonia gets saved and unites with Ajay.

A man disguises himself as a nanny to be with his daughter after his divorce. The film starts in a court where the divorce case was going and Janaki(Meena) was fighting for divorce from Pandian(Kamal) as she feels that she could continue her marriage life as she was not able to come to terms with living in a small house with no amenities and also Kamal is not able to spend much of the time with her as he runs a Dance school and also a choreographer in film industry. Finally Meena wins the case as the court agrees to give divorce. According to this verdict Pandian can meet her daughter Bharathi every Friday and that too in a public Place. So Pandian meets her daughter every Friday in a temple. But Bharathi wants to live with her father rather than mother. After some days Pandian sees and advertisement in a newspaper that Vishwanathan Iyer was in search of a servant maid who can also takes care of his granddaughter. After seeing this advertisement she calls him and speaks in a lady voice and when Vishwanathan Iyer asks for her name he first struggles and later he sees the street name as Avvai Shanmugan Street and says his name as Avvai Shanmugi. Then he goes to Nagesh and asks for his help. Nagesh accepted his offer for 20,000 rupees and he assured him that he could change him as old lady with the help of his Make up techniques. For this Pandian sells his bike and gives the money to him but still there is a shortage of money. Finally Pandian becomes Avvai Shanmugi and he goes for the interview in a Ladies bus, but Nagesh says that he make up stays only for 5 hours. Then he (Pandian as Avvai Shanmugi) goes to the house for the interview, where he finds that interview was already over and they asked all theothers to leave. During that time Bharathi, Pandian's daughter, meets with an accdient due fire as she was burning crackers and seeing this Pandian saves her. Watching these activities of Pandian,Vishwanathan Iyer immediately appoints Avvai Shanmugi. There Avvai Shanmugi was recognized by Bharathi and she finds and says that it was not Shanmugi but his father. Then lot of activities takes place there and Avvai Shanmugi and his daughter finds and shows Vishwanathan Iyer the different types of theft going on in the house with the help of Senthurama Iyer and the cook. As Avvai Shanumi resembles the wife of Vishwanathan Iyer, Vishwanathan Iyer(Gemini Ganesh) falls in love with Avvai Shanmugi and to escape from this situation Avvai Shanmugi says that she was already married and her husband left her to Kasi. To find the truth Sethuraman Iyer follows her and he gets caught with Muthaliyar(Manivannan), who was also in love with Avvai Shanmugi. Seeing this he beats Sethuraman Iyer and by this time Avvai Shanmugi now comes as Pandian and he rescues Sethuraman Iyer and says to mudhaliar that Sethuraman Iyer was the husband of Avvai Shanmugi. Pandian says a different story to Sethuraman Iyer that Mudhaliyar was the husband of Avvai Shanmugi. Similary when all the members of Vishwanathan Iyer goes to a jwellery shop, Joseph comes there and he was asking money from Avvai Shanmigi. Watching this Vishwanathan Iyer questions Shanmugi who it was and she says thet it was her husband so she could escape from the situation. So Vishwanathan Iyer says that he will give money so that he should leave Avvai Shanmugi and Joseph who was money oriented accepts the offer and during this time Sethuraman Iyer comes in and says he isn't the husband but Mudhaliyar was the husband of Avvai Shanmugi, but Joseph somehow manages the situation. Nassar(Bhai) who was the friend of Pandian was working in a tea stall and seeing this Kamal says him to go and meet Avvai Shanmugi in Vishwanathan Iyer house and him to go as dumb and as a Brahmin. He also joins in the job but he was caught by sethuraman Iyer and they came to know thet he was a Muslim and he can also speak. However Avvai Shanmugi saves Bhai. At some point of time Avvai Shanmugi hints to Vishwanthan Iyer that Janaki's rightful place is by her husband, Pandian and Vishwananthan Iyer also realises this and tells Janaki that she has no place in his house. So this made Meena very angry and she attempts suicide, but Avvai Shanmugi(Pandian) stops her and finally reveals that he was Pandian who came as Avvai Shanmugi to Janaki's hous to look after his daughter.Finally Janaki and Pandian understand the mistake made by them and they live happily.

Prabhu, a college student, falls in love with Shruthi, a governor's daughter. On knowing about their love affair, her father imprisons Prabhu and forbids him to meet Shruthi. Student in a South Indian college Prabhu is elected as the student leader of the college. When the principal asks him to invite the Governor of the state, Kakarla Sathyanarayana, to be the chief guest at the annual day function Prabhu meet up with Kakarla's daughter, Shruthi who happen to be the girl of his dreams. In order to captivate her attention Prabhu join Shruthi's dancing class and is able to impress her thus both fall in love; due to fear of terrorism in the region Shruthi is not allowed to move without bodyguard. She decides to break this rule in order to run away with Prabhu to a dance festival in Chidambaram only to find her life threatened by a bomb that is implanted in that region at that time. But she manages to elude this only to return home whereby her father objects to her relationship with Prabhu and on his behest Prabhu is arrested by the police and accused of planting the bomb in Chidambaram, tortured and then later on released. Since there is considerable fear of terrorism in the state, Kakarla does not permit his daughter to travel anywhere without bodyguards. Shortly thereafter there is a threat of a bomb being planted there, Shruthi is immediately returned home, and Prabhu is arrested. Shruthi is forbidden to see Prabhu again, while Prabhu is released from police custody, albeit after a severe beating. Prabhu then goes to meet Shruthi, unaware of the changed circumstances, and this is where he will find evidence that will lead him to a hideout of a daredevil terrorist who is responsible for planting bombs and killing people. An Inspector is assigned to track down a large sum of stolen money. His investigations lead him to a couple of small time crooks, a village belle, a murder, an absconding suspect, and an international drug dealer. Fresh printed bank notes to the value of incredible 10 billion rupies are stolen in India from a train by the henchmen of super-gangster Vikram living in London. The code card only being able to open the container with the money comes into the possession of beautiful Chandralekha. On the way to Vikram she comes across the two thieves Kadir and Azhagu who are on the run from the police - having in tow country-girl Rajathi whom they kept from committing suicide and who then ran away from her ruthless uncle. After some attempts of cheating each other Chandralekha is making friends with the thieves. When she discovers that Vikram is stopping at nothing - especially not at dead bodies - on his hunt after the loot, she informs the three others about the real value of the code card.
