Kaalayan`s (Sundar) life revolves around his four brothers. When Varadharajan (Suman) approaches him with his sister`s hand for marriage, Kaalayan refuses. This earns him Varadharajan`s wrath, who is a big shot in the neighbouring village. Meanwhile, Bhuvana (Sneha), on the run from Varadharajan, seeks refuge under Kaalayan and the two fall in love. This only increases Varadharajan`s fury and he begins to plot Kaalayan`s downfall.

Pandiyan is a police officer whose sister's husband goes missing. In order to find him and catch the culprits, he goes undercover.

Sathyaraj is a rich person who returns from America to India. He gets surprised when most of them call him with different name and later he sees another Sathyaraj who is a jobless guy and wanted to earn money for his Sister's life. Raghuvaran who is brought up in a traditional brahmin family lives with his father, mother and sister. Sreenivasan's furious behaviour disturbs his mind and after losing his mother and sister one day he leaves his home with all unwanted relationships and addiction to drinking.

An aspiring young wannabe actor Raja (Rajinikanth) from a village get into a fast city which is full of crooks and drug dealers. As he searching for a place in the dream factory, he falls for the daughter of the house owner (Jaiganesh). Charmed by his looks and character, the girl (Gowthami) also falls for him. One day he accidentally meet his childhood friend Raghu (Raghuvaran) who is a spoiled rich guy. He offers Raja an acting job, then takes him to his uncle's house. Raja is to be in charge of the administration of the household and take care of five children (Raghu's nieces and nephews) each of whom have issues (such as being lazy, not studying etc.). Raja finds out that Raghu is cheating his uncle out of funds and using him to do the same. How he tackles these problems and helps the children become better is the rest of the movie.

Guru (Rajinikanth) and Babu (Prabhu) land up in jail due to their petty crimes. They come across Manohar (`Mannvaasanai` Paandiyan), who has been imprisoned for the murder of a driver who was witness to her sister`s rape. She was raped by Muthuraaj (Radha Ravi). The two believe him and set out to find the real culprit.

Guru and Babu meet a man who has been framed for murder. To help him and find the real culprit, Guru fractures his hand so that his death sentence can be delayed.

Dharmathin Thalaivan is a 1988 Indian Tamil film, directed by S. P. Muthuraman and produced by C. Dhandayuthapani. The film stars Rajinikanth,Prabhu,Suhasini,Nasaar and Khushboo in lead roles. The film had musical score by Ilaiyaraaja.

The blame for this murders goes to Rajkumar's mother (K. R. Vijaya), who is actually Ragupathy's mother. Realising all this Ragupathy takes an oath no matter what happens he will not let any harm come to Rajkumar. As these attempts are being made, can Ragupathy thwart them all?

Per Sollum Pillai has Kamal Haasan, Ramu as an orphan, who is adopted by a wealthy family. He gets adopted into the family when he saves the entire family from being deliberately poisoned by a miscreant. Rajalakshmi, the mother of the family, raises him as one of the family even though others outside the family see him as a servant. Ramu helps to run the family smoothly and looks after his step-parents, brothers and sisters like his own. Kamal intervenes whenever his step-brothers attempt to commit mischief in the family and thwarts all their plans. He tries to advise them to be resourceful but they hate him for that. A smuggler becomes an enemy to the family when Ramu intervenes and stop in getting his step sister married to the smugglers son. The smuggler kills Rajalakshmi in a climax scene and Kamal tries to save the others. Years later, Rau believes his daughter is a reincarnation of his step mother and lives happily ever after.
