Read more →Bhoopathy is a happy-go-lucky youth from Pollachi who is sent by his father Mani Gounder to stay with his best friend Vishwanathan at Villivakkam so that he can get a job and behave responsibly. Kattabomman is Vishwanathan's assistant who torments Bhoopathy right from the day they meet. Priya is Vishwanathan's daughter who is engaged to an NRI groom Prakash. Priya and Bhoopathy are at loggerheads with each other and constantly fight and play pranks on each other. Soon, however, Priya falls for Bhoopathy. While Bhoopathy also loves Priya back, he realises that she is already engaged to another man and is also reminded of his father's words that he (Bhoopathy) should not make him (his father) lose face with his friend under any circumstances. With this in mind, he starts to keep a distance from Priya and decides to return to Pollachi, only to be stopped by Vishwanathan. Some days later, Priya, along with Bhoopathy and Priya's younger cousin sister Pappi, go to Ooty to attend the wedding of Priya's friend Asha. At Ooty, Bhoopathy attends the bachelor party of the groom Sriman. While drunk, he reveals his feelings about Priya. After the marriage, Bhoopathy, Priya and Pappi, along with a photographer, go on a day out to Black Thunder, where the photographer takes a photo of Bhoopathy and Priya holding hands. Bhoopathy keeps snubbing Priya and her romantic overtures to him during the trip as he is reminded of his promise to his father but cannot forget her. On the day before Priya's wedding, Mani arrives in Chennai and knows about the relationship between Bhoopathy and Priya. Later that night, Prakash and his family see the photo of Bhoopathy and Priya holding hands and Prakash's father decides to call off the wedding unless Vishwanathan can pay Rs. 1 crore to him, which Vishwanathan refuses to do. When Vishwanathan confronts Priya, Priya's aunt, who is aware of the love Priya has for Bhoopathy as well as Bhoopathy's dilemma, reveals the truth to Vishwanathan. Meanwhile, Bhoopathy is at the railway station, trying to convince Prakash to marry Priya. Vishwanathan, who has also arrived at the railway station, sees this, and realising the true reasons behind Bhoopathy backing out over his love for Priya, sends Prakash and his family away and accepts Bhoopathy's relationship with Priya. In the end, Bhoopathy marries Priya.

Amidst, Srinivas became the same accident victim, where Kalyan lost his vision to whom Srinivas's eyes were transparent. Now, Meghamala proclaims to Kalyan that her intention of intimacy with him is to view his eyes. Since she regrets failing to propose, Srinivas Meghamala is writing an imposition and declaring that she will remain single. Still, Kalyan stands firm. Hence, Meghamala tactically arranges Kalyan's wedlock with a benevolent Srilakshmi, of which he is unbeknownst. Though Meghamala visits the wedding, Kalyan's parents expel her. The next day, she is surprised to see Kalyan, her opposite, calling off the splice and knitting Ramesh with Srilakshmi. At last, Kalyan affirms that he, too, remains single. Finally, the movie ends lovely with Meghamala taking care of Kalyan's eyes, and he is waiting for her love with hope.

Rasu Padayachi has dedicated his life for the welfare of the village people. When the Muslim peoples of the surrounding villages wanted to buy one of his lands to build a Mosque there, Rasu Padayachi refuses their money and he gives them his land for free. In the village Sundarapuram, Manimaran (Ranjith) is a respected village chief who lives with his parents (M. N. Rajam and K. K. Soundar). Manimaran and his cousin Mannaru (Mansoor Ali Khan) are known for being short-tempered persons. Rasu Padayachi is invited to open a rice shop in a remote village. After the ceremony, Rasu Padayachi and his car driver Velu are on their way home to their village Gunavasal. Rasu Padayachi then stops the car in order to buy some fruits in Sundarapuram's market. In his village, nobody would not take money for his shopping which makes him uncomfortable so he prefers to do shopping in surrounding villages. At the market, Rasu Padayachi pulls the village belle Jayanthi's (Devayani) hand to save her from an approaching snake. Unfortunately, only Velu and Rasu Padayachi seem to have noticed the snake. Jayanthi makes a big fuss of the event by assuming Rasu Padayachi to be a rogue. Manimaran and Mannaru beat him up in public without taking notice of his defense. The land broker and family friend Shanmugasundaram (Shanmugasundaram) sees the injured Rasu Padayachi in that village, Rasu Padayachi says it was just a misunderstanding. The angry Shanmugasundaram goes to that market and he makes the villagers understand that they have done a huge mistake, he warns that this incident may lead to serious consequences if Gunavasal's villagers come to know the truth. Manimaran and Mannaru realize their mistake and regret the incident. In the meantime, Rasu Padayachi warns his driver not to talk about the humiliating incident to anyone and pretends the injuries were due to an accident. Once back home, the man of honor Rasu Padayachi lies to the villagers that he had a car accident. Velu, who was frustrated and angry of the incident, finally disclose the matter to the villagers that same night. Meanwhile, as per his father's advice, Manimaran goes on horseback to Gunavasal on the very night to seek an apology. When he discloses the incident to Rasu Padayachi's mother, she beats him but Rasu Padayachi stops her. Manimaran falls at Rasu Padayachi's feet and begs for an apology, the kind Rasu Padayachi forgives him and Manimaran returns to his village. Gunavasal's villagers get angry after knowing about the incident and they all go to Sundarapuram with Aruvals (Billhooks) without warning Rasu Padayachi. They create a mess in Sundarapuram and set fire on their houses. The riot causes the death of many villagers including Manimaran's parents and Jayanthi's mother. The next morning, Manimaran finally comes to his village, he notes the damage and deaths. The district collector and the police arrive at Rasu Padayachi's village to tell him to be safe, and that they will now handle the issue between the two villages. Rasu Padayachi gets furious with his driver and his village people when he comes to know about the previous night's riot. Manimaran feels betrayed by Rasu Padayachi and he sees the destruction of Sundarapuram as Rasu Padayachi's cunning plan, an angry Manimaran then destroys Rasu Padayachi's statue in front of Gunavasal's villagers. The trio Jayanthi, Manimaran and Mannaru vow to take revenge on Rasu Padayachi in a similarly cunning fashion. Later, Rasu Padayachi wants to help financially the victims but they refuse his money. Rasu Padayachi offers to marry Jayanthi, as she has nobody left in her life to live with but she sees this as an opportunity to destroy Rasu Padayachi. Both Manimaran and Mannaru are also convinced so. After the marriage, Jayanthi comes to know Rasu Padayachi's true nature: a golden-hearted man and she becomes a good wife. On the other hand, Manimaran and Mannaru still want to seek revenge on Rasu Padayachi. What transpires next forms the rest of the story.

Manorama sees Paresh and then reveals his past. His father (also Chiranjeevi) a good human being and also a village head. Envied by the good name he has in the village, Paresh Rawal traps his sister and sees that she commits suicide and also blames his wife Jayasudha that she is illicit. He kills Chiranjeevi in a village fight and that blame is taken by Jayasudha and she is in jail and all the villagers think that she is the actual cause of all this. Now the son takes revenge on the villain and opens the truth before the villagers. Also Nagma transforms into his loving wife after knowing her fathers' deeds.
