Selvam, who is referred as the 'honest corrupt' police official by his superiors is given a special task of tapping the phone calls of important VIPs' in the city. His duty brings him face-to-face with Balki, an intelligent software engineer, and hacker who threatens girls form money with their private pictures. One of Balki's victims is Selvam's wife, Agalya and when Balki threatens Agalya to sleep with him, Selvam confronts him and soon a game of cat and mouse chase ensues.

About the movie Harsha(Mahesh Babu) is the son of a multi-millionaire named Ravikanth(Jagapathi Babu). He is quite simple in life and shares different ideologies to his father. One fine day, he meets Charusheela (Shruthi Haasan) and gradually falls in love with her. Twist in the tale arises when Charusheela rejects Harshas proposal and reveals him a shocking truth about his native place and its problems. An upset Harsha, now sets on a personal mission to his village and encounters Sasi(Sampath) and his gang who are troubling the villagers big time. Rest of the story is as to how Harshas personal mission becomes a revolution and helps the villagers grow and prosper in the future.

Amudhan decides to visit his girlfriend, Poongavanam Madandhipuram in her village. During his stay, one night, while crossing the fields to meet her, he gets horrified and later asks the villagers about it who tell him it was `Ambuli`, a man-eating monster.
