Vanayutham` is an upcoming Tamil film that ia based on the Sandalwood smuggler, Veerappan. A.M.R Ramesh has scripted and directed it. It features Arjun Sarja, Kishore, Vijayalakshmi and Lakshmi Rai in leading roles. `Vanayutham` has been remade in Kannada as well.

`Attahasa` is a forthcoming Kannada biopic directed by A. M. R. Ramesh, based on the notorious forest brigand Veerappan. Kishore plays the role of Veerappan in the film which also features Arjun Sarja and Vijayalakshmi in the leading roles. The film has simultaneously been shot in Tamil and is titled `Vanayutham`.

Shankar is an honest and efficient police officer. Shanthi is a humanist doctor. They have a love marriage but soon realize that their ways of thinking are very different. Over the course of their confrontations, Shankar begins to question himself and realizes that like terrorists, he also believes in violence. The incidents force him to question himself and how he comes to transform himself forms the story of Tamassu. Tamassu is a journey from violence to humanism. It is a story each one of us goes through. How much of what we think as right, really right? How much of what we do as our duty, really service? Agni Sreedhar weaves the story marvellously, touching upon issues of state sponsored religious riots, terrorism and the purity of human relationships which goes beyond all boundaries.

Ramesh, nicknamed Rummy (Nagarjuna) loves his childhood friend Janaki, who asks him to become rich and powerful before marrying her. With this motive, Rummy starts gambling and becomes rich in no time. ACP Sekhar (Sayaji Shinde) takes notice of his activities and attempts to catch him. Rummy then moves to Goa where he meets Chandra (Ankur), a pub owner who also runs gambling in it. Both of them enter into a deal. While on the task, Rummy rescues Sara (Paula) from Victor. Saras sister Nadia (Linda) falls in love with him. Another woman, Sandhya (Mamta Mohandas), enters his life. She helps him in his task. Meanwhile, differences arise between Rummy and Chandra, and they become rivals. How Rummy encounters the situation with Janaki?

About the movie Sonu, his sister Sasha, and their friend Akhil lead a rather poor lifestyle and carry out small-scale robberies to make a living. They are offered enough money for their entire lifetime in exchange for stealing diamonds. Meanwhile, Sasha, who is in love with Akhil, threatens to kill herself if he does not reciprocate the same feelings. When she is found dead, Sonu holds Akhil responsible for her death and breaks all ties with him. But did Sasha really commit suicide?

Akhil, a call cab service owner, falls in love with Dr. Srivalli alias Siri, who soon falls in love with him as well. Sonu is a big-time hi-tech robber. who used to work for Siri's father as a car mechanic. He adopts Siri as her sister and brings her into his home after his father dies from car crash. Incidentally, Akhil and Sonu are enemies. Realizing that Siri is deeply in love with Akhil, Sonu asks her to put an end to their relationship and never see him again. Siri goes to Akhil's house to learn about Sonu's enmity with Akhil. Akhil reveals that he and Sonu were former best friends who met as recent graduates. They struggled to get jobs along with Sonu's real sister Sasha, who was also a graduate. When Sasha suffered from appendicitis, Akhil and Sonu started robbing banks and managed to pay for her surgery. After that, they decided to continue robbing banks and stealing lots of money. Sasha fell in love with Akhil and proposed to him, but Akhil refused as he liked Sasha as her best friend. One day, Sasha was found dead on the road by Sonu and Akhil with her arm slightly cut and died from blood loss, where they assumed she committed suicide. Because of this, Sonu blames Akhil for her death and starts hating him, which causes their friendship to end. Due to this, Akhil decided to live a normal life. John Abraham, the artist who was trying to draw a picture of Sonu ended up drawing Akhil's picture. The police arrests Akhil, who also looks like one of the mysterious guys from the police surveillance video. According to the video, it is revealed that Sasha was murdered. Akhil lies to the cops that he is not in the video, and Abraham says that Akhil is not a thief. Sonu follows Akhil to the Biker's Club. Akhil and Sonu realize that the Biker's Club owner Mama was responsible for their robberies and Sasha's death. Sasha was at the club late, where she found out that Mama's men were the ones who told them to rob the diamonds. The goons planned to kill the trio (Akhil, Sonu, and Sasha) right after they succeed in the robbery. Sasha tried to escape, but the goons killed her and make Akhil and Sonu believe that she committed suicide. After learning the truth, Sonu apologizes and reconciles with Akhil, but Mama reveals he kidnapped Siri and tells Akhil and Sonu to rob the same diamonds which they were supposed to rob in Mumbai. Akhil and Sonu successfully rob the diamonds by blowing up underneath the truck carrying the diamonds and falling into the sea. Akhil dives into the ocean and retrieves the diamonds. The cops chase Sonu and Akhil on motorboats. One of the cops shoots Sonu, who falls into the ocean. Akhil does not stop and heads over to Mama's place. Akhil gets hold of Sonu, who is actually alive and was wearing a bulletproof vest. Sonu saves Siri from Mama's clutches. Akhil and Sonu manage to kill everyone and keep the diamonds. Abraham finally draws Sonu's picture, but the police do not believe Abraham and that the police captain already got transferred to another town. Akhil and Sonu give a diamond to Abraham and tell him to draw a picture of Akhil and Siri.

Jai (Fardeen Khan) is a fashion photographer, happily married to Geeta (Sonali Kulkarni). He meets Ria (Urmila Matondkar) in Goa on a beach where she was doing yoga alone. He takes photos of her without her permission and publishes them in the magazine. The magazine becomes a huge hit because of those pictures. Vispy is Jai's boss and is very happy with his work. Vispy's servant Rampal (Rajpal Naurang Yadav), calls Vispy pretending to be underworld don Chhota Vakeel and asks Vispy to hand over ransom amount to Rampal. Rampal as Vakeel has demanded Rs 20 Lakhs from Vispy. Ria is shown as a temperamental and headstrong woman, who doesn't let anything come in the way of what she wants. Despite making mistakes she does not apologize for them and instead put herself in physical pain till her father is forced to bend to her wishes. Vispy throws a big party for the success of the magazine which is attended by Ria and her father Mr Jaiswal. Vispy realizes that Ria is the person whose picture he has published in his magazine. Mr Jaiswal also loves Jai's work and is pleasantly surprised that Ria was interested in modeling. Vispy (Ravi Baswani) wants Ria to model for their magazine but she refuses because she is angry at Jai for publishing her pictures. Jai manages to convince her to model for their magazine. Jai says that only he has the talent to bring out the real personality of Ria, which is not colored by the celebrity status of her rich and famous dad. Jai says that he has given Ria a new identity which can sometimes takes several years. Jai conducts a few photo sessions with Ria and even teaches her the basics of modeling. Ria begins to fall in love with Jai. Her father Mr. Jaiswal (Suresh Oberoi) is really happy that her daughter is finally in love (he doesn't know its Jai). Vispy hands over the ransom amount to Rampal, not knowing that Rampal is Chhota Vakeel. Shortly thereafter, Rampal quits his job to go back to his village. Ria, to talk to Jai about marriage, goes to his house and gets a shocking surprise that Jai is married to Geeta. Stubborn and always having her way, she can't believe that the guy she loved is married. Ria is angry at Jai for hiding his marriage from her. Jai considers Ria a good friend. Ria is inconsolable. Ria is very possessive about Jai. She makes a suicide attempt, calls him in the middle of the night and continues calling him at all times of the day. Jai stops Geeta from informing the police as he feels that it will ruin Ria's life. Geeta is angry that Jai is not discouraging Ria from her behavior. Geeta also learns that Jai spent time alone with Ria. When a shaken Geeta asks for a breakup, Jai promises to change his ways. But then Ria comes over to Jai's home and hugs him, which Geeta sees. She is livid and wants to run away but ends up falling into a glass table and injuring herself. Geeta starts doubting Jai's intentions. Ria visits Geeta in the hospital after injuring her and spins lies to sow the seed of doubt in Geeta's mind. Ria says that Jai really loves her and is not admit his feelings to Geeta. Ria asks Geeta to leave from their lives. Jai, meanwhile, tries to hold on to his sanity and marriage. Geeta tries not to let the doubts and suspicions creep in. Ria also stalks Geeta to eliminate her from Jai's life forever. Meanwhile Rampal uses Vispy's money to start his own business. He attends one of Vispy's social functions as his peer, astounding him. Vispy suspects that there was no Chhota Vakeel. Rampal gets drunk and admits that he is Chhota Vakeel. Jai finally decides to move out of the city with Geeta to pursue a peaceful life. Ria realizes this and asks him to meet her one last time. He agrees and goes to her house to talk to her father about her. Ria uses this opportunity to visit Jai's house and tries to kill Geeta. When Jai reaches Ria's place, he discovers that Mr. Jaiswal is not home and waits for him. While waiting he calls Geeta and hears her shouting. Immediately he rushes home and finds Ria trying to kill her. To protect Geeta, he lies to Ria that he is ready to divorce his wife and start a new life with Ria. He assures her that he really loved her all this time, only he did not realize it. Ria believes him and comes to him; Jai smacks her hard. She falls to the floor bleeding. Her father arrives and, after clearing all misunderstandings, takes Ria home. Six months later, Geeta and Jai are happy with their life while Ria is housed at a mental hospital.
