Viren and Aditi are forced to meet each other by their parents in order to arrange their marriage. However, the two refuse for the marriage, but secretly continue to be friends. In the course of time, both of them are engaged to different people, which is when they realize that the two have fallen for each other.

Gangaajal is a story of an honest cop who is transferred to a small town that is infected with corruption and is literally owned by a mobster duo of father and son. The cop finds it tough to curb the corruption as the police officers too are as corrupt as the criminals. How he puts and end to the problem is the crux of the movie.
