Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare is a complete comedy entertainer which revolves around TV serials. Jayaram plays the role of Jayadevan Chunkathara, the script writer of mega serials and Rimi Tom plays Pushpavalli, Jayadevan`s wife, an ordinary house wife who is an addict of these serials.

Mathai (Jayasurya), a native of Thrissur, is an auto driver. He is very innocent and is always ready to help others in their needs. He interferes in the matters of others necessarily and unnecessarily with the intention to help them. But contrary to his expectations, usually he and others get into trouble. The life of Dr Nandakumar (Mukesh) and his wife Geeta (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy) turns topsy-turvy with Mathai`s influence. The resulting events are plotted hilariously in `Mathai Kuzhappakaranalla`.

When Neil finds a bag full of money after a New Year`s party, he can`t believe his luck. Ajayan (Mohanlal) has worked in the Gulf and also in Chennai, before returning to his home in Palakkad where his mom Ammukkutty Amma (Sheela ) lives. He is a likeable chronic bachelor, who often boasts about his past escapades with women to some of his gullible friends. The whole story takes a different turn with the entry of Karthik (Rahul Pillai), a teenager who has come from Chennai, claiming that he is Ajayans son. The boy soon becomes close to Ammukkutty Amma, though Ajayan is desperately trying to prove that Karthik is not his son.

The story takes place in a small village in Kerala called Chithirapuram. A group of people from the village travel to attend the marriage of their friend Aravindan, a Chakyar Koothu exponent in a bus named Kudumbasree Travels. Meanwhile, Aravindan`s uncle Pachu and his friend Nittar are planning to break his marriage with Aswathi. Instead Pachu wants Aravindan to marry his daughter. On their way to attend the marriage, the group meets Sreedevi who keeps a lot of secrets and the story takes its turn at this point.
