The film begins with Jose, a convict, on the run from the police. In an attempt to hide, he takes refuge behind an under-construction police station, from where he witnesses Georgekutty emerging from. He is then caught by the police and apprehended. Six years later, Georgekutty, Rani, Anju and Anu lead an affluent life. Georgekutty, now an owner of a movie theatre, yearns to produce a film, despite his family's objection. He is in constant touch with Vinayachandran, a prominent screenwriter, in order to develop screenplay for his project. Although the family is comfortable, Anju has repeated fits of epilepsy and is now a PTSD patient, a consequence of her fear of getting arrested in connection to Varun's murder. Jealous of the family's meteoric rise in wealth, Georgekutty's neighbors start spreading rumors tarnishing the family's image, especially Anju's, much to Rani's distress. Her only source of solace is her friendly neighbor Saritha, although the duo's friendship is not accepted by Saritha's abusive husband, Sabu. The police, having received much humiliation due to their inability to solve Varun's case, decide to reinvestigate the case, under the supervision of IG Thomas Bastin. Meanwhile, Georgekutty encounters Prabhakar, who begs him to disclose the location of Varun's body so that he can collect his skeleton to perform funeral rites, but to no avail. Anu returns home on a spring break and hosts a sleepover party with her friends, despite Rani's protests. One night, Rani conveys to Saritha of her fears of getting arrested and inadvertently blurts the fact that Georgekutty had moved Varun's body. Unbeknownst to her and the family, Saritha and Sabu are actually undercover cops, assigned by Bastin in an attempt to discover the location of Varun's body. Among his other spies was Anumol's boyfriend. Meanwhile, Jose is released from prison. After overhearing Georgekutty's case from townspeople, he recollects about having seen him at the then-unfinished police station and promptly tips off the police. Bastin informs this to Geetha and Prabhakar, who arrives from the US to oversee the new developments on the case. Relying on Jose's information, the authorities excavate the police station, eventually discovering a human skeleton. Georgekutty learns these events through surveillance cameras. He and his family are then apprehended and questioned by the police. To make matters worse, Rani's earlier revelation to Saritha had been recorded; Saritha and Sabu had bugged Georgekutty's house. Geetha's brash questioning results in Anju having another epileptic fit. Distraught, Georgekutty gives in a fabricated story in which he is the murderer of Varun, for which he claims he has preserved evidence. After they are let go, the family muse about their supposedly bleak future. After Georgekutty is formally arrested and tried, Vinayachandran meets with Bastin, Geetha and Prabhakar. He reveals that, on Georgekutty's recommendation, their screenplay was published as a novel titled Drishyam under Vinayachandran's name for protecting copyright. In their novel, the hero successfully manages to hide the body, but when discovered, he gives a false confession to save his child. Bastin then realises that Georgekutty's recorded confession matches with Drishyam's plot. In the court, Georgekutty pleads not guilty, his lawyer argues that the police had used the book's plot to frame Georgekutty. Much to the police's shock, the DNA results of the tests conducted on the human skeleton do no match with that of Varun's. Shocked, Vinayachandran reveals that Georgekutty had an alternate climax for his film, in which the hero, attempting to evade capture, would learn about the procedures conducted when such a skeleton is found on that location, Idukki district. The hero would then procure the skeleton of another youngster who had died with injuries similar to that of Varun's, by befriending a local gravedigger. He would further befriend the security guard of the medical institution where the forensic tests of the discovered skeleton would be conducted. On the day the original skeleton is dug up and send to forensic lab, he would discreetly switch the victim's skeleton with the one he procured, while cremating the original one, thus destroying all incriminating evidence. As per Vinayachandran's narration, it is revealed that Georgekutty had followed suit. With no incriminating evidence to prove his culpability, Georgekutty is released. His lawyer requests the court to direct the police to stop proceeding against Georgekutty for the time being as he is moving to High Court to quash the proceedings against him. Georgekutty later has Varun's cremated skeleton discreetly handed over to Geetha and Prabhakar, who floats his ashes in river. Bastin urges them to end their spat with Georgekutty, as they will never succeed in punishing him. He tells that Georgekutty's vigilant life itself is a punishment; he must live the rest of his life with constant supervision, caution and guilt. The couple apparently agrees with him. Meanwhile, Georgekutty, watching the trio from afar, silently leaves.

The third pair is that of Stephanie-Raju pair, she searching for her faithless Indian boyfriend and he the Indian taxi-driver who ferries her around the country. And then there is the Shiven-Gia yuppie marriage fiasco, with the groom with the cold-feet. The fifth story is of the stable married couple - Vinay-Seema, whose 15 year marriage is threatened when the husband wants more than just boring, suburban life. The sixth couple's story is of Isha-Sohail as a rural couple unable to give vent to their passion. The film opens at St. Stephen's College in Delhi with the story of three students, Siddharth Tyabji (Kay Kay Menon), Geeta Rao (Chitrangada Singh) and Vikram Malhotra (Shiney Ahuja). Siddharth is a driven revolutionary who dreams of bringing a revolution in the state of Bihar that will end the caste-based discrimination there; bring social justice and change the society for the better. Geeta is a London returned, South Indian girl in love with the firebrand Siddharth. She has led a very sheltered life thus far and is yet to explore the terrain of the Indian Socio-political landscape. While she finds Siddharth's Naxalite rhetoric attractive, she is not sure if she can subscribe to it with her full heart. And every time they come to point of choice, Siddharth chooses his ideology over his love for her thus breaking her heart time and again. Vikram is a middle-class boy who dreams of making it big, whatever the cost. He is particularly afflicted by his father's Gandhian ideas, but irritated and frustrated at the same time, seeing his father's way of life as ineffective in bringing about a change. Vikram loves Geeta, without any reciprocation from her side for his feelings. Vikram despises Siddharth, mainly for having the affections of Geeta. Vikram sees Geeta and Siddharth having sex. Siddharth leaves for Bihar to bring about a revolution; Geeta leaves for Oxford to get a degree (She refuses to go with Siddharth, citing resistance from her parents), and Vikram sets up an office in Delhi. A few years later, Vikram is a fixer in the power corridors of government, Geeta is married to a promising IAS Officer Arun Mehta (played by Ram Kapoor) who, as Geeta says, "has it all", and Siddharth is still trying to ferment a revolution. But all is not as it seems. Below the mask of happiness, each is quite unhappy. Vikram has 'made it', but he still cannot get Geeta, the love of his life. Geeta is married, but she still meets Siddharth on the sly, cheating on her husband. Siddharth has a split in his organization and decides to rebuild his roots in the hinterland of Bihar. He tells Geeta that he can't see her for a while. Vikram buys an old palace for 3.5 Crores with the intention of turning it into a hotel. For this, he has to involve his relatives to pitch in with funds, who are in politics. Eventually, Geeta gets a divorce from her husband because of her love for Siddharth, even though she does not want to hurt her husband's feelings. Geeta joins Siddharth in the village where she starts to teach the children of the village, whilst the police repeatedly try to hunt down her now husband, Siddharth. She bears a child with Siddharth whom she sends to London to her parents since she believes he deserves more than to grow up in the remote village. Eventually the police round up the entire village, capturing Siddharth and Geeta for intent to cause unrest and brutally assault them both, fabricating a story of a villagers' riot to explain their injuries. Geeta is soon bailed out of prison by her now influential ex-husband, while Siddharth, on the run, is shot by the police and admitted to a local hospital and is placed under arrest while Geeta believes him to have been killed. Vikram, who has been consoling Geeta and taking care of her during the absences of her ex-husband and of Siddharth, is informed that Siddharth is still alive. Vikram travels to meet Siddharth and release him using his influential contacts, however he has an accident on the way and is admitted to the same hospital as Siddharth. During the night, local Naxalites break into the crude hospital and free Siddharth while Vikram still lays there. The next morning, the policemen in charge of guarding Siddharth, frustrated, accuse Vikram of having conspiring to free Siddharth and beat him up. After discovering that he is a man of influence, they resolve to kill him and dump his body to make it unrecognizable. Vikram, terrified, attempts to escape but is chased down, however the policeman finds that the Naxalites have emptied his revolver, and they beat Vikram up with an iron rod. Soon, the police chief and a local politician come looking for Vikram and are able to stop the policemen from killing him. Vikram suffers heavy brain damage and is rendered handicapped, while Siddharth tells Geeta that he intends to leave but Geeta refuses to accompany him. Siddharth has moved beyond simply trying to foment a revolution and is prepared to delay it because he feels that the people are not ready in spite of their saying otherwise. He goes to London to study medicine and through a letter, voices his anguish and disillusion with the idea of revolution, he writes saying "I hope the mysteries of the human body will be less confusing" (in reference to his studying medicine and quitting the revolution). The last scenes show Geeta going back to continue working in the village and taking care of the handicapped Vikram, who can no longer speak. With Vikram writing "I love you Geeta" on a rock, as they both sit by a placid lake and watch the sunset.

Nayak: The Real Hero is an action film which portrays the fight against corruption. The film is about a news reporter who arranges an interview with a corrupt minister, just to expose him on his channel. But, the film takes a turn when the minister askes him to run the state for one day. The story showcases how the reporter runs the state and makes some changes which has a positive impact on the people.

Hey Ram is a crime drama film directed by Kamal Haasan. The story follows the semi-fictional era of India`s Partition. The story showcases an extremist who shares a similar ideology as Nathuram Godse, the guy who killed Mahatama Ghandhi. The movie features Kamal Haasan, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji in lead roles.
