Set in the small town of Barielly, this romantic comedy explores the nuances of simple lives people live there. It`s a story of Bitti Mishra, a free-spirited girl, who is tired of the societal pressures and finds solace in a book titled "Barielly Ki Barfi".

Chalo Dilli revolves around two people from two completely different worlds. What can happen when a la-di-dah woman is suddenly thrown into the company of this middle-class Delhi saree seller? The film showcases India, through the relationship of this mismatched couple and ends with a surprise twist.

The story is about two good-hearted samaritans Benny (Kay Kay Menon) and Babloo (Rajpal Yadav) smitten by the glamour of Mumbai. Benny takes up a job of a bell-boy in a suburban five-star hotel whereas Babloo lands up as a waiter in a ladies service bar. Benny considers his job to be far superior to Babloo`s and ends up making fun of him more often that not. Post a hilarious experience of the new jobs to start with, both gradually realize that they were actually in similar professions with two different exteriors, but the same interiors. Benny witnesses innumerable social evils at the five-star hotel, right from drug abuse to political fiascos while Babloo meets the more human side of the otherwise condemned part of the society.

The film is based in a B-town centre of India and carries the mentalities and the true essence of the "Great Indian middle class". Rajeshwari (Tabu) is married to Vinay ( Ayub Khan) a bank cashier for the last 7 years. She has two adorable children Geet and Suraj 6 and 4 respectively. She has always been the driving force in the family and her dream is to get her sister Nisha married to the most suitable boy within their Saxena community. Rajeshwari is against the dowry system and therefore the propositions to find a suitable match within the given scenario is not very promising but she is determined to do so.

Rishi `Chintuji` Kapoor re-locates his birth place, the village of Hadbahedi to garner support for his chance at politics. The villagers support him initially as they feel the village will get attention from the government and the impending issues will be solved. But soon they realise the trouble they have been harboring. Chaos spreads and their women are molested, as the police finds their way into the village searching a terrorist responsible for December 13, 2001, attack on the Indian Parliament.

This is the story of three individuals who have their own share of problems they are dealing with. Akshay (Tusshar Kapoor) is a struggling crime reporter who wants to marry the love of his life Priya (Raima Sen), the sister of the leader of D Company, Dattu Bhai. Mr. Joshi (Anupam Kher) wants 1 crore from his son that he claims he has the right to since he spent that amount raising him. Lambodar Jha (Rajpal Yadav) works as a mascot in a mall but tells at home that he has a business. He finds it difficult to deal with his wife and resents tall people since he is very short himself. The trio soon make a plan to extract 1 crore from Joshi`s son. They demand the amount from him threatening to kill his family if he does not give the money. However, the matter goes public somehow and the trio try their best to keep it from disclosing. The rest is how they prevent their identities from being disclosed, as members of C KKompany, and fulfill their respective desires.

With this offer comes the promise of money and many other perks that make this offer hard to refuse, especially since Vikas is currently going through a very painful divorce with his wife Anjali (Shriya Saran). After working for the channel that in turn changes his life, he decides to quit, however it is brought to his attention by a Turkish commando Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), that others who have quit had been killed for knowing too much. Once there, he is met by fellow-reporter, Owais Hussain, is introduced to the CEO, Al Gazni, shown around the building, and instructed to keep away from the 13th floor. While covering an assignment in turbulent Afghanistan, Owais is shot and killed.
