Raj/Raju (Salman Khan) is an orphan, brought up by Mrs Godhinho, who teaches Raj music in Goa. When Raj grows up, he comes to Mumbai as a professional singer trying to make his way in the big city. Raj believes that Mumbai is the city where he will meet the girl of his dreams and make good in his singing career. Raj stays with his friend Abdul (Neeraj Vora). Abdul says that Mumbai is a city of pretenses and asks Raj to get a bike. Raj buys a bike on EMI by giving postdated checks, even though he has no money in the bank. Abdul introduces Raj to a music producer Mishra (Asrani). Raj sings a song for Mishra, and he is super impressed. Mishra wants Raj to record his songs in a cassette, which will cost Rs 2 Lakhs. Abdul goes to his miser uncle (Shakti Kapoor), who runs a roadside cafe. The uncle runs a juice machine in his cafe and eats the remainder of the fruit after the juice is taken out, so that there is no wastage. Raj and Abdul sell a bus stop, by making it like a shop, to the uncle and defraud him of Rs 2 Lakhs, to fund Raj's cassette. Raj uses the money and records the cassette, but when they go back to the music company, they find that Mishra had died. Raj and Abdul meet Mishra's boss and the owner of the gramophone company Mahesh Hirwani (Satish Shah) at Mishra's funeral. But Mahesh throws them out. Soon, Abdul's uncle figures out that he has been defrauded (when the municipality arrives with a bulldozer and removes the bus station where uncle had set up a juice shop) and goes mad. Raj is distraught that his dream is now in tatters. Raj rescues a young woman whose car has an accident and has fallen on the train tracks. Raj risks his own life to pull the woman out of the car, before an oncoming train crushes it. The woman was in wedding attire of a bride. He rushes to the hospital & stays with her. It is assumed by the hospital staff that Raj is the woman's husband. The attending doctor recognizes the woman as Pooja, the daughter of his friend. Pooja Oberoi (Rani Mukerji), the daughter of a wealthy family, survives but falls into a coma. She can listen and understand everything, but she can't speak or move. Her family Bharat Oberoi (Rajeev Verma) Pooja's father, Biji (Kamini Kaushal) and Bharat's trusted employee Govardhan (Paresh Rawal), and son of Pooja's Bua Monty (Vinay Pathak) rushes to the hospital. Finding Raj there, assumes that he is Pooja's husband Romi, with whom she had eloped with to marry and whom they had never met. The family was against Pooja marrying Romi and this was the reason that Pooja was driving away in stress (to run away with Romi) and met with an accident. The family is told that pretend Romi risked his life on the train tracks to save Pooja, and they indebted to him. When Raj is alone with Pooja, he tells her that he is leaving as he is not Romi. Govardhan hears this and now knows the truth about Raju not being Romi but begs Raju to stay for the sake of the family. Since Pooja's father has a higher chance of a heart attack, Raj agrees to lie and says he is Romi. Mahesh also finds that Romi (Real Raju) is the son-in-law of Oberoi and his whole attitude changes towards the pretend Romi. From the beginning pretend Romi talks to Pooja and tells her the truth. He returns her jewels that he found in her bag in the car. Pretend Romi confides in Govardhan that he will reveal the truth once his cassette is recorded by Mahesh. Govardhan agrees as he knows that Raju/pretend Romi is a good man by heart. As the family gets to know the pretend Romi, Pooja's best friend & Govardhan's daughter, Jahnvi (Preity Zinta) starts spending a lot of time with him. Raju rejects all material comforts offered by the family and wants to be his own man. Jahnvi is impressed with pretend Romi with each passing day. They pray at a temple together for Pooja's speedy recovery. Jahnvi finds pretend Romi talking to Pooja and figures out the truth. Her respect for Raj grows as she realizes that Raj is only helping Pooja out of the goodness of his heart. Raj and Jahnvi both fall in love with each other, who is regarded as a second daughter by Pooja's family. Pooja's Dance master (Razak Khan) had seen Raju at Mishra's recording studio and finds him at the Oberoi house, as Romi. But he has short term memory loss and doesn't remember Raju. Raj records his album with Mahesh. Then Pooja revives from her coma and complicates matters by falling for Raj. Raj and Jahnvi continue their affair, while hiding it from the family. Pooja has also identified Raj as Romi, to keep up the charade and keep the family feelings intact. Govardhan knows about Raj and Jahnvi and agrees to keep it a secret. When all is going well, Abdul's uncle arrives and accuses Raju of cheating the entire family. But Pooja stands up for Raju and says that as Romi, he could have done incalculable damage to her and the family but did nothing of the sort. He is a good guy. The family accepts Raju. In a conversation, Pooja and Jahnvi both reveal that they both love Raj using signs (Hand up) but Jahnvi realizes that Pooja loves Raj resulting in her putting her hand down. Raj and Jahnvi put their relationship to an end. On the day of their engagement, Jahnvi unknowingly takes Pooja's cell phone (Her and Pooja's cellphone look the same). Knowing that Raj will never marry Pooja if she's there, she decides to leave. When Jahnvi cell's phone rings, Pooja picks it up and it ends up being Abdul who pleads Jahnvi to break this wedding and come back to Raj. Pooja then reveals to everyone about Raj and Jahnvi and Raj and Jahnvi are once reunited. Pooja chooses Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). Rahul comes to marry Pooja.

On the way, she learns that this was a whole plan hatched by Vijay's friends to lure her towards her husband. In anger, Megha goes to insult Vijay. Meanwhile, Khairati Lal and Yashwant Kumar, who had come hiding behind Vijay in the office, actually attack Vijay suddenly and severely injure him by stabbing him in the stomach with a glass. But Megha thinks that Vijay is pretending to be injured. Megha turns around to leave after abusing Vijay, but Vijay turns towards her and screams in pain while pulling out a glass shard. Megha turns around and sees that his stomach is bleeding, and he is badly injured. Then she is convinced that Khairati and Yashwant have really attacked them. Megha runs towards him and slips and starts screaming in pain due to the fall as she is pregnant. Vijay ties a shirt on his stomach and gathers all his strength and takes Megha to the hospital. Their families also reach there. On one hand Vijay is being treated and on the other hand Megha gives birth. Megha gives birth to a healthy baby and wants to see Vijay first. Hero (Salman Khan) works for a courier company owned by Khanna (Shakti Kapoor). He is spirited and humorous and is in love with Rani (Rani Mukerji), but she simply thinks of Hero as a good friend. Rani lives with her mother (Sulabha Arya). Hero specializes in giving Purple Nurples, while Rani is looking for a guy who is a Prince, tall, with a wide chest, and with a grand car. Hero has none of those things and drives a moped. Rani gets a job as a teacher in a school. Enter Inspector Vishal (Arbaaz Khan), who works in the narcotics department and has the reputation of being unrelenting towards drug smugglers and peddlers. Since Vishal has eradicated the drug business in Goa, he is transferred to Mumbai. His new commanding officer is Senior Inspector AK Khan (Neeraj Vora). Vishal is given Constable Hatella (Johny Lever) to support him. Khan assigns a case to Vishal where a man was caught supplying drugs under the guise of being a courier person. Vishal suspects Khanna to be involved in a drug ring and confronts him at a golf course. Khanna denies all knowledge of the case and says that his courier person was using Khanna's company to run a side business in drugs. Hero stands up to Vishal and defends his boss. Hero is a fun-loving person and teases Vishal with his antics and gags. Hero knows that Vishal is following him and keeping an eye to see if Hero is also into supplying drugs on behalf of Khanna. Hero knows Vishal is looking for evidence against Khanna and is convinced that there is no evidence to be found. Hero tells Vishal that he will never do a task which gets him to lose his self-respect in his own eyes or in the eyes of his Chawl where he lives. But soon Hero learns the truth behind Khanna. Khanna assigns extra deliveries to Hero to help him achieve his dream of impressing Rani. Khanna had asked Hero to deliver a parcel, which gets damaged during an accident on the road. Hero finds that the parcel contained drugs. Hero still believes that someone else is using Khanna and goes to his warehouse to warn him. Meanwhile, Vishal was following Hero and also enters the warehouse. Khanna realizes that Hero had found out everything about his drugs business and believes that Hero can go to the police. In a confrontation at the city docks, Khanna kills Hero (Hero had come to warn Khanna, but when Khanna heard the police sirens, he suspected that Hero had told the police everything) and shoots Vishal in the heart. The police department decides to transplant Hero's heart into Vishal's body. Hero now appears as a ghost and can only be seen by Vishal, since his heart is in Vishal's body. Vishal realizes that Hero is telling the truth, when he is shown Hero's dead body by Hatella and Khan. Hero says that he will only rest in peace after Khanna is killed, thus avenging him. Rani was out of town for a few days. When she returns, her mother informs her of Hero's death and the fact that he was involved in drugs trafficking. Rani refuses to believe that Hero was involved in any illegal activities. Rani realizes that Hero's body is still lying unclaimed in the morgue. Rani goes to the morgue to claim Hero's body and to perform his last rites. Vishal sees Rani for the first time at Hero's cremation. Vishal has a tickling sensation in his heart when he sees Rani, presumably because it is Hero's heart, who used to love Rani. Vishal takes control of a hostage situation at the school where Rani is a teacher. Vishal successfully enters the school, kills the terrorists and rescues all the kids as well as Rani. Rani starts to see Vishal in a positive light. They begin to date. Vishal and Rani begin to fall in love with each other. Hero dislikes this and tries to foil Vishal's plans of getting close to Rani. Hero gets Vishal to dress funny and to perform silly antics which make Rani question whether Vishal is mature enough to be her partner. Rani is livid with Vishal and Vishal tries to explain that someone else has made his life hell but is not able to. But Hero and Vishal start getting closer and work together, becoming good friends after Vishal confronts Khanna's drug company. Hero tells Vishal that Khanna is trying to liquidate his drugs stock and exit the country in haste. Vishal raids Khanna's warehouse and captures a shipment of drugs. Khanna arranges to leave the country, but kidnaps Rani. Vishal and Hero go to save Rani and fight off Khanna's henchmen, but Vishal gets injured. Hero then enters Vishal's body and controls his fighting moves, helping him to beat the thugs. Rani witnesses this and realizes that only Hero would do those kinds of moves. She calls out Hero's name, though Vishal does not know that Hero is inside him. Rani then calls out to warn Vishal that a plane is moving towards him. Vishal and Hero stop the plane, which Khanna is in, and then confront him. As they are talking, Vishal becomes distracted, speaking to Hero, and Khanna takes the opportunity to shoot Vishal. Hero takes Vishal's hand and shoots Khanna with the gun. Khanna finally dies, and as Rani is comforting Vishal, he tells her that Hero is with them, and he loves Rani. Rani then tells Vishal to tell Hero that she loves Vishal. Khanna's ghost rises from his dead body and Hero hits him. Khanna is taken to Hell and Hero is taken to Heaven. Afterwards, Rani and Vishal have gotten married and are spending their wedding night and honeymoon in a house on the water. It is shown that Hero, now an angel, is happily watching over them from Heaven.

Newly-wed Pooja is ill-treated by her in-laws and her husband for dowry. Unable to live with their demands and mistreatment, she decides to stand up for herself and teach them a lesson. Gone are the days (and the movies) when the Indian daughter-in-law stood by silently and got abused and slapped around by her mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, et al. Here, the daughter-in-law has not only her cruel and intimidating mom-in-law, but also her equally cruel, sister-in-law by the hair, and some may say, well under her thumb. A glaring and perhaps a light-hearted look at the evil of dowry, and lack of which still does result in cruelties being inflicted even on well educated and cultured women in modern yet secular and tradition-bond India. —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Thakur Suraj Pratap (Jackie Shroff) sees a young woman performing Pooja at a temple, and instantly falls in love with her. This is Pooja (Ashwini Bhave), who belongs to a poor family, consisting of her dad, Ramlal, her mom and a kid brother named Raju (Salman Khan). Thakur sends an emissary to Ramlal, who is delighted to give his daughter to Thakur in marriage, and the wedding is celebrated with due ceremony. Pooja is very fond of Raju and takes him along with her to her husband's house. This is the only "gift" that Pooja's impoverished parents are able to give their daughter at the wedding, and it is also beneficial for the young boy to grow up in a more affluent household. At the Thakur's palatial home, Pooja is greeted by Jyoti (Rambha), Thakur's kid sister. The years pass. Unfortunately, Pooja has been unable to bear children. Raju, now grown up, is intensely attached and loyal to Thakur, his brother-in-law. He and Thakur's sister Jyoti are in love. One day, Thakur meets Vaishali (Shweta Menon), a courtesan who sings and dances for a living. Vaishali has no relatives except one brother, an unscrupulous card-sharp named Gajendra (Mukesh Rishi) who lives off his sister's earnings. Vaishali seduces the Thakur and becomes his mistress. Her brother, posing as a respectable man, demands that Thakur marry Vaishali and make the relationship public. Thakur is reluctant. On the one hand, he possibly hopes that Vaishali will make him a father. On the other hand, he is attached to his dutiful wife and loving brother-in-law. Gajendra and his friends hatch a plot to kill two birds with one stone: to induce Thakur to marry Vaishali, and at the same time, break the strong relationship between Thakur and Raju. The conspirators make a fool of Raju, as a result of which he causes the police to raid Gajendra's house, on the allegation that the house is being used as a brothel. During the police raid, Raju is horrified to find that the 'customer' found in Vaishali's company is none other than his brother-in-law. Thakur is also angered to find that the person who has caused him this infamy and police entanglement is none other than Raju. In order to avoid legal proceedings, Thakur tells the police that he is present in the house in order to discuss the possibility of marrying Vaishali, the reason being that his wife has remained childless. Raju falls at Thakur's feet, begs forgiveness, and pleads with him not to take a second wife. His pleas fall on deaf ears; Thakur duly marries Vaishali and takes her home. Raju tells his parents of what has happened, of how Pooja now has a co-wife. They come to Thakur's mansion and create a scene. Annoyed at the commotion, Thakur tells Pooja to make her choice once and for all: she can either accept Vaishali as her co-wife and remain in his household with the respectability of being the senior wife, or depart with her parents for good. Pooja chooses to remain with her husband and co-wife, for as she says, that is her wifely duty; her husband's house is the only suitable residence for a married woman. Raju, who has lived in Thakur's household for many years, now goes away with his parents. These events cause a great rift between the two families, because of which the two lovers (Raju and Jyoti) are separated. Vaishali is ensconced in the Thakur's mansion, and her brother becomes Thakur's confidant. He now wants to marry Thakur's sister, Jyoti, so that he and his sister Vaishali will totally control the vast wealth of the Thakur family. A naive Thakur is taken in by his new brother-in-law's seeming decency, and it is arranged that Gajendra will marry Jyoti. However, Jyoti bravely refuses to marry anyone except Raju. She is supported by Pooja, who makes the point that it would be wrong and even sinful for Jyoti to marry one man while being in love with another; chasteness of the mind is as important as chasteness of the body. Thakur decides to delay the matter for the time being. Gajendra is aghast at this and makes a plan to abduct Jyoti so that afterward she will have no choice but to marry him. He reveals his plan to his sister and asks her to help him, but Vaishali has undergone a personality change after her marriage. She now wants to be a respectable woman and is extremely grateful to Thakur for having given her the chance to reform. She berates and opposes her brother, and makes it clear that she will inform her husband. Gajendra feels betrayed by his sister and sees that she has gained so much (Thakur's wealth, his social standing and the respectability of wife-hood), whereas he, Gajendra, has, in fact, lost his only source of income, which was the money from his sister's song-and-dance performances. In a fit of rage, he plunges a knife into Vaishali's stomach and kills her. He then makes an effort to frame Thakur for Vaishali's murder. But Pooja is a witness. Police arrests Thakur, but Raju turns himself by taking the blame. Gajendar tries to marry Pooja but Thakur intervenes. Pooja calls for Raju over temple loudspeaker & Raju comes & fucks everyone up. At Thakur's behest, Raju dispatches the villains, rescues Jyoti and protects Thakur's honor, gamely taking a bullet in the shoulder during the Big Fight. He survives to dance another song, and Thakur, now reconciled with his beloved and loyal Raju, gives Jyoti in marriage to him. Pooja testifies to police against Gajendar. Raju wont sleep with Jyothi, so Thakur tells him to (Jo Jeejaji Bolenge Mein Karoonga)

Hanuman Baba tells Kohinoor about his past and how Ranbir slaughtered his entire family. Kohinoor leaves. Hanuman, Ali and Kohinoor reach the Kingdom. The only solution is to put all the kids to sleep.. If Kohinoor uses his powers to hypnotize kids, he will loose them, but he does so anyways, as he wants to save the kids of the village. Kohinoor loses his powers (unknown to him, this was all planned by a mole planted by Ranbir) and promptly Ranbir's forces attack. Hanuman is shot and Kohinoor withdraws to save him. Meanwhile Ranbir captures the entire village including Ali and Shaili. Ranbir's mother tells him that marrying Shaili would make him immune to Kohinoor. Shaili uses this to her advantage and drive a rift between Ranbir and his wife existing wife Lady Helen (Kunika). Kohinoor assembles his forces around Ranbir's palace. By the grace of God, Kohinoor retains the love of all animals, who come to his aid during the attack. In the end the animals and Kohinoor defeat Ranbir, rescues Amina, Ali and Shaili.. Anand Verma (Anil Kapoor), a widower, and father of a child admit a woman into the hospital who had lost her memory. The woman is distraught that she cant remember anything and that nobody in the whole world has come so far to claim her as their own. Since Anand admitted her, the doctor asks him to take care of her until she recovers from amnesia. The doctor Dr. Dayanand Surgery (Anupam Kher) names her Asha (Sridevi), which is the name of Anand's late wife and makes her believe that she is married to Anand and has a child. Mr. Natwarlal "Romeo" (Shakti Kapoor) is a patient at Dr Dayanand's hospital. Due to the circumstances, Anand has to accept the situation and takes her to his house. Asha insists that she does not remember any incident about her life with Anand. To make her believe it, the doctor lies to her that she has a birthmark in the part of the body only known to her husband. He also places a photograph of hers with the wedding photo of Anand. Asha yet insists that she cannot remember anything but believes that Anand is her husband and she is a mother of his child. Asha has high standards and spends a lot, and Anand is a middle class person.. So Dr Dayanand also supports him financially, so he can take care of Asha and her demands. Anand runs a printing press (for marriage cards) with his assistant Dum Dum (Rakesh Bhanushali), and doesn't have too many customers. Anand is in debt.. Natwarlal poses as Asha's father and visits Anand's house. Anand had already told her that her dad is dead, so Natwarlal makes a story about Anand being unhappy about the dowry paid to him for the wedding. He comes to the house when Anand is not around and steals stuff from the house. Asha starts to live with Anand as his wife, which troubles him a lot as he knows that she is not his wife. Asha insists that Anand recount their married life to him and Anand is forced to tell stories with his real wife Asha (Heera Rajagopal) to the new "wife".. Asha sells all of her jewelry and uses the money to buy new dresses for herself and decorate the house as per her tastes. Anand goes to the police Inspector V. P. Chaturvedi (Tiku Talsania) in desperation to find Asha's real family. But Dr Dayanand feels the timing is not yet right.. he calls the inspector (who is a patient of his) and tells him that Anand is a mental patient and not to take him seriously. Asha also showers affection on the child and gets attached to it. Asha witnesses a robbery and follows the robbers in the car and helps to arrest them. Police Superintendent (Avtar Gill) meets Asha and recognizes her from a photo of a case that is currently unsolved. But Inspector Chaturvedi intervenes and convinces the SP that Anand is mad and hence not to take him seriously (as he has been to many police stations to file the report). Dr Dayanand remembers how Anand was a life saver at a beach. One day, his real wife Asha had a heart attack, while Dayanand's daughter was drowning on the beach. Anand went to save Dayanand's daughter, and as a result his wife passed away. This is why Dayanand brought Asha and Anand together, so they could support each other. To augment Anand's business, Asha glamorizes herself up and sits at his shop and lures all the customers from the neighboring press, which employed females as honey traps to lure customers. Anand is super upset and slaps Asha for displaying her body to lure lecherous clients. One Day finds a photo of Anand's real wife in the house and assumes she is the mistress. Dr Dayanand has to step-in and reveal that this was a shock treatment to get her memory back and that Anand has no knowledge of it. But Asha comes to know a situation that whatever is told to her is not true and she is neither married to Anand nor is a mother of the child. when Asha tries to get intimate with Anand, he pushes her away. He begs Dayanand to tell her the truth, but Asha overhears the entire conversation and figures it out by herself. Anand tells her to leave the house, but she says she cannot leave him or his child and wants to be with them forever. Anand is convinced by everybody (Asha had insisted to keep the kid for one last day and that day Anand has an accident which would have killed the child unless Asha had insisted) and finally agrees to marry her. Natwarlal also steps up by saying that he considers Asha as his own daughter and pays off Anand's debts. But Asha has an unknown fear that something might stop their marriage. One day Dr Dayanand goes to see a bungalow that he wants to purchase. The agents has no keys, so he agrees to see the next house to get an idea. Inside the house he finds the photo of Asha with Ajay. Dayanand learns that Asha's real name is Anita and that Ajay is madly in love with her. Ajay gets suspicious that Dayanand knows something and follows Him. Ajay ends up meeting Anand and Anand understands the full story.. On the day of marriage, Asha sees Ajay as a groom, which confuses everyone. The groom sings a song which jogs Asha's memory. She is actually Anita and the groom is her lover named Ajay (Akkineni Nagarjuna). When they were about to marry, they were stopped by goons (led by Anita's brother who was supposed to the match) because of which Anita fell from the mountain, survived with injuries, and had lost her memory. Anita's brother was later arrested by police for assaulting Ajay.. Now that her memory is back, Anand finds Ajay, brings him to Anita, and insists she marry him, as they are both lovers. Anita reluctantly accepts. When Ajay is tying the Mangal Sutra, Anita however stops him. She goes to Anand saying that he may not need her, but she needs him and the child. Seeing that motherly affection has overcome her, Ajay leaves. Anand and Anita finally get married.

Shyam takes a hit, before retaliating and defeating Divya's champ in the boxing match. Now Shyam insults Divya by saying that she has made fun of the art of 2 impoverished artists and that does not suit her stature. Divya brings Shyam and Muthu to the TIPS music competition where singer (Shakti Kapoor) is the reigning champ. Shyam defeats the reigning champ and Khurana is impressed with his musical abilities. Shyam is promoted to a high position in TIPs company. Ram Pyare is worried as he was working with Nana (Mukesh Rishi) to sell fake TIPS cassettes in the market, without paying any royalties. As Shyam goes back to repay his debts in the village (with the TIPS prize money), he receives tragic news of the death of his wife Pooja (Karisma Kapoor), who has died in a flood. Pooja had arrived in the village with her father Madhav (Arun Bakshi), who is a music teacher. Thakur's son (Arjun) had his evil eye on Pooja.. Shyam falls in love with Pooja and to get close to her, he joins her father as his music student. Thats how Shyam learned how to sing and play instruments. He starts flirting with Pooja. But one day Pooja overhears Shyam bragging to his friends how he plans to get close to her and kissing her. Pooja is hurt. she slaps Shyam and makes him realize that music is a pure art, which he used for impure purposes. Shyam realizes his mistake and gives himself totally to the study of music. Shyam returns to the village and repays Thakur's debt and then slaps the Thakur twice to make things equal. His friends tells Shyam that Pooja and Madhav both died in a flood. Shyam is distraught and returns to the city. He then marries Khurana's daughter Divya (Tabu). He confronts them both, defeats Nana and puts them in jail. When Khurana has a heart attack, Shyamsunder finds his "presumed dead" wife Pooja in the hospital. Shyam cannot tell the 2 wives about each other as Divya is super temperamental and Pooja is very fragile. He then has to fool his two wives, even if it includes leading a double life to make sure Pooja and Divya don't discover he has married both of them. Shyam sends Divya to US to get Khurana operated, and uses the time to settle down with Pooja. Divya returns. Khurana asks Shyam to take Divya on their honeymoon. Shyam books tickets for Bangalore and then returns alone to take Pooja with him. He runs into Ram Pyare in Bangalore (who was exiled from Bombay), who finds Shyam with Pooja. Ram Pyare calls Khurana who refuses to believe that Shyam is cheating on Divya. Shyam stays in the same hotel, sharing one room with Divya and other with Pooja. One day Divya sees Shyam with Pooja in the temple. Muthu tries to convince her that this is a duplicate, and real Shyam is in office. Divya rushes to the office, while Muthu manages to warn Shyam who gets to the office before Divya gets there. Divya is convinced that there is a duplicate of Shyam and convinces Khurana when he finds him buying Indian traditional wear for women for Pooja. Pooja and Divya becomes friends. They both suspect that they share the same man as husband. Shyam's mom arrives from village. The 2 ladies discuss that if Shyam is common, then mom will arrive only in one house and cancel the other. Muthu hears this and informs Shyam, who hires a fake mom (Himani Shivpuri) in front of Divya, as Pooja had met Shyam's real mom. Then Divya invites Pooja and her husband for lunch and wants Shyam to be present. Shyam manages the situation by entering the house as Pooja's husband. He then takes offense at some event, goes out and changes clothes to re-enter as Divya's husband. Meanwhile Nana and Ram Pyare are seeing everything. Ram Pyare again approaches Khurana and tells him that Shyam is married to 2 women. Thakur's son arrives and joins Nana and Ram Pyare in exposing Shyam. They approach the photographer who took 2 photos of Shyam in different poses and merged them to make it look it 2 different men in the same photo. The photographer tells the truth, when beaten and is murdered by Nana. Ram Pyare then tells Khurana that Sunder has murdered his duplicate Shyam (Khurana's son-in-law) and his body (the mutilated body of the photographer) was found on railway tracks. Sunder is arrested. Sunder manages to escapes and asks Muthu to bring both Pooja and Divya to a secluded temple Shyam meets both and admits the truth and explains the circumstances in which this happened. Raju gets a job as a mechanic in the mill at a salary of Rs 3200 per month. Raju confronts Sheetal several times to get the workers proper treatment. Sheetal fires Raju but all the mill workers threaten a strike as they believe what Raju did is fair. Sheetal is livid and sets fire to her car as it was covered in blood. Raju's fairness for workers results in him being elected as the union leader. Raju meets Kaajal (Raveena Tandon), who also works in the company, and they fall in love. One day, Raju saves Sheetal's life during an attempt by a competing textile mill owner Suryadev (Prem Chopra) to eliminate her. Raju saves her by pushing her out of the way of an oncoming crane. Though he saves her, Sheetal enrages as Raju touches her and slaps him in front of all workers. Later Raju goes to Sheetal's cabin and slaps her for five times with a cause for each time. Sheetal cannot fire Raju as then she has to tell all of her workmen she was slapped by Raju. For taking revenge, Sheetal wants to win over Raju and makes an offer to marry him. When Raju turns her down, she forces his mom to agree to the marriage. Raju accepts his mom's wishes and decides to sacrifice his love for Kaajal. Sheetal expects Raju to move in with her after their marriage and live in luxury, but Raju refuses and continues to work in the mill. Raju starts to live in Sheetal's house upon her mother's order though he continues his job as a mechanic in mill which is now his own. Raju starts to recognize Sheetal as his wife and starts loving her. Raju also saves Sheetal again when some henchmen of Suryadev try to kill her. When Sheetal thanks Raju for saving her, Raju tells her that he also saves her maid servant also if she is fallen in this kind of situation. Tension arises between Raju and Sheetal, when she fires Kajaal out of jealousy as Sheetal sees Kajaal to visit Raju's house frequently, though Kajaal goes there to take care of Raju's lonely mother only. When labor issues cause the workers to go on strike. The competing mill owner plans to take advantage of the situation and hires goons to set the mill on fire. Raju in his attempt to stop the fire is mistakenly arrested. Raju's mom goes to Sheetal's house to clear matters but is insulted and taunted by Sheetal, and collapses, until Raju arrives to save his mother and slaps Sheetal for taking it out on his mother and breaks his ties with her. Kishen Malhotra (Rishi Kapoor) is an industrialist who heads the Malhotra empire. His relatives are his mother Sumitra (Sushma Seth), his uncle Shanti (Alok Nath) and his cousin Bhanu (Mohnish Behl). Kishen is lazy and doesn't start work before noon. The business is mainly run by Shanti and his son Bhanu. Sumitra forces Kishen to start attending office and to take an interest in his own business affairs. Kishen hits on his secretaries at work. He has a loyal dog named Sheru. One day Bhanu asks Kishen to sign some checks for him. The next day Sumitra calls Kishen to the board meeting and asks about the Rs 5 Lakhs he withdrew from the bank the day before. Kishen is astounded but Bhanu claims that he gave the money to Kishen. Due to Kishen's flamboyant lifestyle everybody believes Bhanu, till Sheru gets the money bag from Bhanu's home. The bag also has Bhanu's markings. Shanti banishes Bhanu from the house. Kishen realizes that he needs to take more responsibility for the business. To expand his business, Kishen decides to investigate business prospects in a village. Kishen's father had promised a tea factory to the village while he was alive, but after his death the project went on a back-burner. Sheru stays back with Sumitra. Here, he meets a village belle named Radha (Juhi Chawla). Kishen bumps his car into Radha leading to a fight between the 2. Village Sarpanch (Tiku Talsania) is also Radha's father. Radha complains to her father and the entire village beats up Kishen when he arrives in the village. Kishen stays at a guest house managed by Jugnu (Kader Khan), who cannot see at night. Jugnu realizes that Kishen was beaten up by the villagers and tells the Panchayat who Kishen is, the next morning. Radha is asked to apologize to Kishen as all villagers want the factory to be started. Radha also offers to help Kishen heal from his injuries. Besides his work, Kishen also starts teaching English to Radha and some other people of the village. Jugnu gets married to his crush Bijlee (Neelam Mehra). Unknown to Kishen, somebody is stalking him and reading his mail. The factory is inaugurated. The villagers are indebted to Kishen and want to give a gift. Kishen asks for Radha, but Radha says that she does not love Kishen. She says that she only befriended Kishen for the villagers. Kishen wants to know why Radha rejected him. She reveals that she has a friend Banno who went mad after her suitor from the city abandoned her after a romance and a promise to come back. Radha rejects Kishen and he drives away but ends up crashing his car. Radha is distraught and prays for Kishen's recovery. Kishen survives. Kishen and Radha slowly fall in love with each other, and Radha agrees to marry Kishen. Kishen leaves the village (and Radha) and promises her that he will come back. On reaching home, Kishen is surprised to see a mourning at his home. He is even more confused to see people looking astonishingly at him. But he gets a shock of his life when he sees the portrait of his mother, signifying that his mother is dead. The real sucker punch comes when he sees his duplicate mourning next to his mother's portrait. When he says that he is Kishen, his duplicate claims the same. When he prods the duplicate to tell something about real Kishen, the duplicate astonishes him by telling him about his life (Jugnu, Sarpanch and others) as well as about Radha. The duplicate also has the letter that Sumitra had sent to Kishen in the village. Kishen is unable to think as to how the duplicate could know about Radha, but he knows that his pet dog will identify the real master. When the dog, too, goes to the duplicate, Kishen is thrown out of his own home. Meanwhile, Kishen learns about the sudden death of one of his old servants, and he smells foul play. He somehow succeeds to infiltrate into his own office, which is now run by his duplicate, but he gets arrested. Another servant named Daddu tells Kishen about his mother's accident, which probably killed her as her body was not recovered. Kishen also notices that Bhanu is back at home. Daddu is killed when he sees "Kishen" taking to Bhanu and Inspector Dholak and revealing that his real name is Tony. Bhanu and Dholak kill Daddu by drowning him. When Kishen infiltrates his office, the duplicate has him arrested. Kishen learns that the duplicate even terminated the village factory and is preparing to sell of company assets. Meanwhile, Radha comes to meet Kishen in the city after the village factory is closed. But, when she sees "Kishen" partying with some girls, she thinks that Kishen has forgotten her. She turns to go back, but the real Kishen has escaped police custody. He stops her and explains the whole story. He, Radha and Goonga (Shakti Kapoor), a dumb convict who has escaped with Kishen, plan to set things straight. The trio hide themselves in a boat which takes them to Goa. Here, Kishen meets a girl who calls him Tony. Slowly, he comes to realize that his duplicate's name is Tony Braganza. Tony works as a saxophonist in a Goan club called Three Aces and has a girlfriend there. Kishen starts gathering every information about Tony. The trio returns to Mumbai. Radha pretends to be a girl named Rita and gains access to Kishen's home. Kishen has identified the key players by now: Bhanu, Tony and Inspector T.T. Dholak (Kiran Kumar). He creates a rift between the trio. An enraged Tony threatens to expose his partners by what he calls his trump card. The angered partners take him to the real head behind the game, who is revealed to be Kishen's uncle Shanti. Now, Tony shows his trump card - he tells them that Kishen's mother is still alive and his men have kept her in captivity. She knows nothing about Tony or the events happening. Meanwhile, Kishen discovers the depth of the trio's planning. He finds that his dog could not identify him as it was not his dog. Like Kishen, his dog, too, had been replaced. Now, Kishen comes back, impersonating Tony and makes Tony's partners throw Tony out the same way Kishen was thrown. Tony comes to the place where he has hidden Kishen's mother and convinces her that he is Kishen. Kishen arrives there, too. Kishen's mother tricks the duo and finds out who is her son. Just then, all the villains show up at Tony's den. Kishen's uncle goes on to explain that he never liked the way his dead brother left the entire estate to Kishen's mother. He explains that Bhanu was not the only one looting the money. When Bhanu was thrown out, he went to Goa to find him, where he met Tony. As the whole plot is explained, Kishen surprises everyone by saying that he had anticipated this. The money he used to lure out the villains was fake. In another twist, Dholak comes out holding a gun on Radha's head. Even Kishen is surprised when Goonga re-introduces himself as Inspector Bhinde. He explains that he was sent undercover by the commissioner (Jagdish Raj) as even he smelled a rat. In the melee that ensues, the villains are overpowered and arrested. Tony surprises everyone by acknowledging his true identity and saying that there can be only one Kishen. Kishen and Radha are united.

Vikram finds Janki's photo in Shankar's luggage and realizes that Shankar is Amit's son. But Shankar survived. After checking at the airport, Simon and Vikram realize that Ranveer and Shankar's parcels got exchanged at the airport. Simon tries to infiltrate Ranveer's house and steal the necklace from the statue but is stung by a cobra. Next, Vikram sends Prem as Shankar to meet Ranveer (Vikram had found Manju's letter in which she said Shankar was going to meet Ranveer). Ranveer sees Janki's photo in Prem (As Shankar's) luggage and believes Prem is his son. Shankar reaches Ranveer and says he is investigating the theft of the necklace. He is astonished to see the statue in Ranveer's house. The discussion is sidelined when Shankar alleges that Ranveer is actually Amit who fled India 25 years ago after committing a murder. Ranveer asks Shankar to leave. Ranveer and Janki have a phone call and Janki also finds that Amit is alive and well in Nepal. Manju reaches home (to celebrate Shankar's Birthday) and finds that it is Prem, staying in her house posing as Shankar. Vikram arrives and abducts Amit, Manju and Janki (when she arrives in Nepal). Janki manages to escape and hides in a marriage function. The wedding is of Guru and Janki thinks it is Shankar. Guru's foster parents declare Janki as mad, but Rai Sahib's doctor is there, who was also Janki's doctor at her delivery. She confirms that Janki had twins and she gave one of the twins to Guru's foster dad as his foster mom had again given birth to a stillborn child. Guru goes to meet Ranveer/Amit and Shankar. But at the Haveli, he finds the cobra, who gives the necklace to Guru. Inside the Haveli, Guru and Shankar meet (Shankar had come to meet Manju and Janki). Guru tells the entire story to Shankar. Meanwhile Vikram's goons abduct Janki and Rita from the wedding. Shankar goes to Vikram and asks him to let Amit and Janki go to the Haveli and get the necklace. Vikram sees Prem with them. At the Haveli, Guru is dressed as Amit and goes back with Prem, leaving the real Amit and Janki safely behind. Vikram finds that the necklace is a fake and has already abducted Janki and Amit from the Haveli. Climax ensues. Nepal police arrives and arrests Vikram and his goons.
