In ancient times, nobles hid their treasures underground and sealed them with rituals called bandanas. One such ritual, the Pisachi Bandana, created a powerful guardian named Dhanapisachi. In 1995, when one such bandana was disturbed, it created havoc in the lives of people involved in it.

The film is a suspense drama that revolves around the character of a woman who has lost her identity. It is her quest to find her roots. But is she able to do so? Who is this Shashi Deodhar and how is she related to this woman, forms the story of the film.

A struggling police officer's life changes when he mysteriously receives promotions and success at work. After his son's kidnapping, he discovers his doppelganger may be behind everything. Gopinath lives a struggling life with his son, Tinku, wife, Chanda and mother. He works in the police force and is a long-time employee but has never received an award or granted promotion since he does not discharged his duty properly. Everyday he prays to Lord Hanuman to grant him his wish and one day when he visits the police station he finds that he has been promoted and is to be given higher wages, he decides to visit the temple and thank Lord Hanuman. From here on Gopinath finds that all his encounter is being conducted successfully with him doing nothing but gets promoted and his salary is rising up more and more. When Tinku is kidnapped by a gangster, Sawant. Gopinath must now go to negotiate the release of his son and here is where he will comes to know that he has a look-alike, Kishen, who may be responsible for getting him promoted and conducting his encounters. His family life consists of his vendor wife, Chanda, a school-going son, Tinku and his mother. Unknown to him that he has a look-alike, Kishen who is responsible for the progress entail over his life. One day her pranks get her in trouble with the law, and she is arrested and held in custody by Inspector Gopinath (Sunil Shetty). Enraged by the arrogance of Gopinath in arresting his daughter, her dad storms in to the Police Station and get's his daughter released. Barkha admires Gopinath's guts and his sense of duty and falls in love with him. Eventually Gopinath also falls in love with her. Unknown to Gopinath, he has a twin brother, Kishan (also Sunil Shetty), who is married to Chanda (Shilpa Shirodkar), and has a son, Tinku (Master Imran). Kishan and Chanda are naive, but honest. Kishan is often mistaken for Gopinath and very often impersonates him. Gopinath's duties take him to question Choudhury (Suresh Oberoi), who he knows is his biological father. His mom, Geeta (Aruna Irani) also knows of this, but prefer to keep this secret to themselves. Choudhury and his henchmen, including Sawant (Mohan Joshi), are irritated by Gopinath's interference in their criminal activities, and abduct Tinku, thinking that they have kidnapped Gopinath's son. A convict by the name of Yogi Shankar is accused of sexual molestation in court. The Judge Jagdish Verma who is responsible for passing Jogi's sentence is well aware of Jogi's behavior as he was once Jogi's defense advocate. With no hesitation Jagdish Verma grant a seven years period of rigorous punishment to Jogi despite his pleadings. The Judge family consists of his wife Urmilla, sons Kunal and Karan Verma; on completion of his seven years sentence Jogi is released from jail and abducts Urmilla, finds out that she is pregnant, ensures that she gives birth to a baby girl Tina and then kills her. On completion of eighteen years all the children have matured; Kunal and Karan manages the family's well-established business and also tend to there handicapped dad who is now paralyzed unable to move while Tina grows up to be a prostitute under Jogi's captivity. Kunal is very rude and strict towards his employee's while Karan is opposite.Karan decides to marry Seema sister of one of their factory workers Kunal opposes it forcing Karan to leave the house.Kunal finds that Tina is his own sister and very much alive and working in the den of Yogi as prostitute.He decides to meets Tina and wants to free her but she doesn't care for Verma family as she was abandoned much before birth.Yogi had hidden the truth all the years in order to take revenge on their father. —alex.mjacko@gmail.com Judge Jagdish Verma (Raza Murad) has an accused by the name of Yogi Shankar (Kiran Kumar) in his courtroom. Judge Verma had at one time been Yogi's defence lawyer, but now must pass sentence against him. Yogi pleads his innocence, but the Judge finds him guilty, and Yogi is sentenced to a long jail term. Yogi swears to avenge this injustice and humiliation. Judge Verma's family consists of Urmilla (Beena), and two sons, Karan and Kunal (Sunil Shetty and Saif Ali Khan respectively), a daughter Tina. Years pass by and Yogi is released from jail. He is obsessed with hatred and vendatta against Judge Verma and his family, and abducts young Tina, and plans to use her to rule over the judge and his judgements. The family is instructed not to contact the police for fear of the death of Tina, and keep this abduction a secret. Tina (Madhoo) grows up in the company of Yogi and his men, without knowing her real parents and her brothers. Tina is then used to ensare the family into more deceit and entrapment as Yogi directs her to do so.
